nothing after dark souls 1 was salvageable, the devs never even understood why people liked the series in the first place and pumped out 3 devil may cry clones that the core fanbase never wanted

> only two bosses
> one is a sif clone and the other is a maria clone

it's unlikely

It'll probably be good, but the Londor DLC will be bigger and more plot related.

DLC can't salvage the broken invasion system and anti-fun PvP

>caring about pvp in a pve game
Fuck you

>not caring about pvp
Fuck you

>apologizing for From's failure to deliver

shameful

I think you might actually be retarded

I refuse to believe its so short for that price. There must be a hidden boss.

>he plays for pvp
I bet you backstab people in ds1 with a crystal great club and havelmom set dont you?

wtf who do you take me for. i use giantdad because i'm not a fucking pussy.

Why would DaS3 need saving?

The game was already finished at release, unlike the other 2 games.

>another snowy DLC
>another long shaking bridge
>another big bad wolfy
I'm supposed to be hype because...?

>Not liking snowy bridges and wolves

Will there be working poise?
If yes, then yes
If no, then fuck right off right now

>not wanting a new DLC that is half Catacombs half Blighttown

*poor man's devil may cry

>broken invasion system

You are just used to winning every invasion in the previous games. I recommend invading under SL 100 if you are having problems.

How are the Souls games compared to Devil May Cry?

no. It's just like the main game, a rehash of DaS1. with rehashed bosses too even.

and I expect the second DLC will also be another rehash.

I also expect stupid decisions. I expect that big viking looking dude's helmet will not be obtainable because fuck me, if they didnt add the fucking ornstein plume 3 fucking games later I dont have any fucking hope for the DLC items

I just want to try out the new weapons/spells. They seem fun

Much better.

Honestly they're really different. I kind of wish DMC had PVP because the skill ceiling is so high. Anyways, Souls is slower-paced combat with harder enemies. On Normal they're harder than DMC games overall but the combat isn't very interesting. Its most comparable to Zelda.

You literally cannot even compare them, it's fucking retarded. It's like trying to compare an RTS to a FPS.

how hard is a magic run in Dark Souls 3?

thinking of going magic for the new guy for the DLC

I worded it wrong but the thing is that called the Souls games a Devil May Cry clone and I meant to ask how they got a DMC clone from the Souls games?

It fucking sucks, user

t. Int build in every Souls game

Are all of you retards assuming there's only two bossses because they've showen two bosses, or was it stated somewhere?

I think it's the first part.

Might be a secret boss like Kalameet in DaS1 DLC.

No idea how the DLC for 2 handled the bosses

its just bloodborne mash R1

if you want good souls play the first game and limit yourself if its too ez

Three bosses per DLC
2 story ones
1 co-op one
Most were pretty good.

Magic is hard but its really fun. The game is too easy as any kind of physical class. I'm assuming you're talking about Sorcery because Pyromancy is very viable.

i hope we get new special items or ring to make new types of builds. DkS3 really lacked in the build department, a step back from DkS2.

>another

>fucking

>cathedral

This pic is stupid.
Sunken king was way better than anything included in the main game of Dark Souls 2 , and also, if you're going to rate that DLC, why not rate the the other two as well?

>exploring a fantasy medieval world
>not expecting there to be cathedrals

Also, most of the DLC seems to be taking place in a snowy forest. It's just the scythe woman and crow man boss fights that are taking place inside one, and even then, it's just a big stone room, so who's to say that it's even a Cathedral at all?

poise was too much of a crutch in DaS1 and is the only game where it works that way. In DeS there was hyper armor with certain attacks/weapons, in DaS2 it doesn't work at all except maybe poising through one knife attack when wearing full havels, and in BB and DaS3 it went back to the DeS style.

mainly sorcery but with some Pyromancy

>why not rate the the other two as well?
I didn't play the other two because I found Sunken King to be bad. Hell, I never beat Sunken King because of how bad it was.

Does the big guy stuck to the chair with the lava bowl not count as a boss?

>I never beat Sunken King because of how bad it was
Fucking awful taste. Shulva has great level design, puzzles, and two solid bosses. It wasn't as good as Brume Tower or Eleum Loyce, but it was at the very least a 7.5/10 level.

It's part two of Gherman and Maria's icy child

>who's to say that it's even a Cathedral at all?

Yeah, I bet it's just a chapel

Are weapon arts generally useful for PvE? Found myself never using them on my 2 runs (using rapier and hollowslayer greatsword)

Looking forward to the dlc, hope they drop the price of the game a bit

>Doesn't realize DaS3 is the worst in the series

You forgot the part where they both live in the painted world

>Eleum Loyce
sunken was miles better than snowy castle. the main enemies in ivory king were just so fucking annoying and too many

>save
>DaS3
what's there to save?
it's a great game

because 2 exists, Frogposter

looks I know DaS2 was your first Souls game, but it's shit. take the nostalgia goggles off.

It's not, but I really don't feel like playing this game anymore.

The PVP is just too shit. At least DS II had some fun PVP, this is just shit.

several weapons have skills that deal the same damage as fully charged heavy attacks and come with loads of hyper armor
there are also some special skills that either buff the weapon or are ranged so I'd say yes there are quite some useful ones for PvE situations

>Liking Dark Souls 2
>Nostalgia goggles

from dogposter

Doubtful.

But I've made several new builds and characters in anticipation for it which has been fun.

except DaS2 pvp felt like ass because it felt like I was moving through molasses the entire time. Not to mention hit stun and how ugly the game looks.

At least in DaS3 oversized weapons are viable again. can't just walk up to a UGS user and bully them with knife attacks anymore.

Shulva > Brume > lmao2cat

Apart from gank squad it was good.

Brume > Eleum Louce > Shulva

What are the chances of it to at least be as good as this masterpiece?

And yet people will still claim that Dark Souls coming to PC didn't ruin the series...

Apart from two bosses, I didn't enjoy Brume at all.

Hey how far into the game and what soul level do you guys recommend for doing the dlc?

>not wanting a new DLC that is Valley of Defilement: Christmas Edition

Bloodborne's DLC is the best installment of the whole series, so we can't rule out DaS3's DLC yet

It might

ti seems like nothing will ever surpass Ludwig for me. I was hoping something in DaS3 would, but nope. Hopefully the new Armored Core Miyazaki is working on rules.

Too bad they all suck

>New Armored Core
The rumor was confirmed to be a fake.
Just like that briefing.

Champion Gundyr is the best boss in all DeS/DaS games.
Discuss

>because 2 exists

DaS2 = Bad PvE, Okay PvP
DaS3 = Bad PvE, Bad PvP

explain how DaS3 is better

What are you favorite bosses from each game?
>Demon's Souls
Allant
>Dark Souls
Ornstein and Smough
>Dark Souls 2
Burnt Ivory King
>Bloodborne
Ludwig, the Holy Blade
>Dark Souls 3
Pontiff Sulyvahn

well he killed DSP 67 times or something so I'm a big fan

he is a good test of your dodging skills and i enjoy his kicks

yeah if you omit BB and its dlc bosses.

Is it true that there's only going to be 4 new spells? I thought from the setting, and the presence of the severely underutilized frost mechanic in the main game that they were going to introduce an entire school of ice magic.

I'm going to be very disappointed if that's the case. I had planned an entire cool cosplay build based around ice magic and everything.

at least DSII has builds. With DSIII all you need is straight swords.

Because this is a series where magic has Big Nukes, but Miyazaki doesn't understand that.
They where on a good path with Great Soul Sword in Dark Souls 2, before they nerfed it with patches
Great Soul Sword does fuck all in Dark Souls 3.

>Dark Souls
Artorias I suppose

>Dark Souls II
LGK

>Dark Souls III
2Prince

>You can parry Farron Flashsword
Fucking why

>Dark Souls
Quelaag
>Artorias of the Abyss
Manus
>Dark Souls 2
Darklurker
>Lost crowns
Burnt Ivory King
>Bloodborne
Vicar Amelia
>The Old Hunters
Lady Maria
>Dark Souls3
Dancer of the Boreal Valley

>DeS
False King Allant
>DaS1
Artorias
>DaS2
The Persuer
>BB
Ludwig
>DaS3
Champion Gundyr

I'd prefer Ivory King without the starting knights. Makes me prefer Sir Alonne

I struggle with favourites but i'll give it a shot
>dark souls
artorias

>dark souls 2 (haven't played the dlc yet)
demon of song

>dark souls 3
Pontiff sully/nameless kang

who cares for PvP?

Why is he such a bastard?

OH MY GOD WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR FACE

He is too easy.
Would be better if his shadow thing was either immune to damage while spawning or just couldn't be hit altogether

he is able to double his bastardly qualities

Hi, I'm the best boss in the entire Souls series, just passing through!

They should have just made his second phase as aggressive as his first phase and maybe use more spells

too easy in his second phase maybe

his first phase is the hardest boss in the game

uhhh no dawg

are you high
2 ripostes will end the 1st phase, 2nd is way harder

The best ass, that's for sure

I have no idea how anyone has a problem with this boss. All the attacks are so animated and easy to dodge with less than 70% equip load. I still get shit on by other bosses, but I've yet to die to Dancer in 3 runs.

Demon's Souls going multiplat ruined the series.

Thank god for Bloodborne

>parrying

reported

Not even the best boss in Bloodborne.

In fact, he's not even the best, or even second best, boss in the Old Hunters.

>pontiff 1st phase harder than 2nd phase champ gundyr

Mariafag detected

People usually try to fight her really early so they can get chunks and other really good stuff.

She's easy if you actually beat the other three Lords of Cinder first, but a lot of people want to break free from DaS3's linearity by beating her quickly.

fine I guess you got me there

Orphan > Maria > Ludwig > Laurence > Failures

Why do people like Ludwig so much? I don't get it at all. He looks like a cool scary monster but the fight itself is ass to me. Also I give no fucks about the MLGS.

Pic is a much better fight

no

>DS1
Arthor
>DS2
Sir alonne
>BB
Ludwig
>DS3
The Nameless Bitch

visually yes

the best boss gameplay wise is champion gundyr

the best boss music wise is ornstein and smough

the best boss atmosphere and epicness-wise is nameless king (with ivory king as a VERY close second maybe tied with him, if it wasnt for the fact that ivory uses goons instead of himself right away)

the hardest is, and will always be, orphan of kush

I liked Ludwig because he gave me the feeling that Artorias SHOULD have given the players when they fought him. He is some badass dude of legend that you fight when they are in a fucked up state. Except Ludwig regains his human self for long enough to die honorably.

>the best boss music wise is ornstein and smough

that's not twin princes

I don't even remember Ornstein and Smough's OST.
In my opinion, the best one was Sir Alonne's

>not gwyn

This

Gwyn's theme is great, but I just prefer the sheer pride that sounded from Sir Alonne's theme.
It also helps that Latin choirs are my fetish

Looks like the Forbidden Woods with snow

>press r1 to beat me maria that high

orphan > ludwig > laurence > maria > failures

>Ludwig regains his human self for long enough to die honorably.

Maybe that's it because that does nothing for me at all. I prefer arty exactly because he is completely gone when you fight him.

Also
>regains human self
>still tries to kill you
why even

She gets staggered easily, but her later phases punish you super hard for fucking up.

>why even
no wonder you didn't enjoy the fight you don't know all the lore.

also Sif still tries to kill you even though you saved his life because it's his duty. you understand that don't you?

Also I feel like Artorias only regains his consciousness once you kill him. That death scream will haunt me forever.

how could they hype one boss so much with one trailer? thats great design IMO

terrifying and intimidating but massively intriguing

>twin princes

lol no what the fuck are you even saying, ornstein and smough alone have th ebest soundtrack in the entire game even outside of boss soundtracks only

its the best orchestrated and hyping of them all

sir alonne's is pretty good too but its third place for me because my nigga gwyn has a great soundtrack too and i place him second

gwyn's is great, but soul of cinder failed to copy him and didnt give the same feel, fuck far from that it didnt even give feels

>not defeating sir alonne so skillfully he beckons your worth and does honorabu harakiri

Except in Bloodborne you don't get stunlocked for 2 guaranteed hits like in DaS2 and 3. That garbage is what they stuck to for Souls games and it's never going away.

What the fuck are you even saying, user

your post is screeching "reddit" into my ear

Dragonslayer armor is pretty good, although no one ever mentions it
youtube.com/watch?v=Xy2OCRmxVAY

I always thought the Pontiff's theme was the best
>those bells
>that choir
>that ethereal quality
youtube.com/watch?v=OJSiaf9m55s

>y-you just need to read the lore
I know exactly what was going on in the old hunters. But him suddenly being curious about the righteousness of the church hunters after you behead him seems a little inconsistent. I liked that dialogue after you kill him, but it seems like a strange change of heart after getting his ass kicked.

>Sif
I said nothing about Sif, what was the point of that statement?

>Arty regaining his consciousness upon death
That's nice, but irrelevant to the points I was making.

will they optimize the game to run on toasters like they did with scholar of the first sin?

Game is already good and doesn't need fixing, DLC will only make it better.

no

they're not fixing the base game either

enjoy your 2 boss DLC for the price of a 4 boss DLC

Soul of Cinder really made me tear up, realizing that you're fighting your own chosen undead from DaS just makes the fight all that much harder

What's the player base for this on xbone like? Want to get it but don't want to play a dead game

I didn't know one of the best-selling games of 2016 needed saving, but since a dumb Cred Forumsirgin says so, it must be true.

I forgot Skyrim was a masterpiece

>people who bought a season pass getting mad at what they expect to be a short piece of dlc

hehehehe

>DS3 wants to make "new" material
>Steals even more content from DS1
>Sells it for $15
>Dark Souls 1 costs $12 for the entire game

What exactly is the point of playing Dark Souls 3?

>dark souls thread up for 2 hours
>no nioh webms
what the fuck, i'm away from my webms, but there are more of you to dump them in souls threads come on

Ludwig is cool until I realised he's flamelurker 2.0.

Just hit up his asshole and you can kill him.

The one time I buy a season pass and I get jewed

of course I'm mad

it's ok, still can't play the game.
hopefully they'll make a remastered version.

feels like they took more from DeS to be honest. I shit myself when I picked up the storm ruler

>>Dark Souls 1 costs $12 for the entire game
That game is five years old. It cost $60 on release and it's only DLC cost $15.

Did you shit yourself in disappointment too when Yhorm died in 5 hits?

why did you buy it you absolute madman? did you think the dlc was going to run out

The Souls series has had an amazing track record with DLC, so there's no reason to believe this will be any worse.

I thought DaS2 was a piece of shit but I had genuine fun with Sunken King. I don't get it either.

kinda yeah. was neat the first time then sad on subsequent playthroughs

Because it's cheaper.

am i the only one who kinda likes this old low res graphics style? it gives me a melancholic feel for some reason

I honestly think DeS had better lighting than DaS2. Just a better overall style really.

I agree with you but take a second and think about the other bosses in Old Hunters. They are all memorable and great, with superb OST even Laurence. I don't know if Ashes of Ariandel is gonna be half as good as Old Hunters even relying on fanservice (dlc is obviously ariamis)

Also pic unrelated

still better than every game released in 20 years.

Are you retarded?

Well considering Miyazaki said both dlcs are only going to be the length of the Atorias dlc I'm not too hopeful about it. The means this first one we're getting her is only half that length. Sounds pretty disappointing.

>the last 20 years
Wtf kind of statement is that, have you even played any games in the last 20 years?

How the fuck is Miyazaki getting away with releasing these two half-assed micro DLCs?

Probably just doing it out of lazy obligation at this point. They probably want to move on from the series. 3 really just felt like a quick cash in with all the rehashing and pandering. The amount of rehashed armors really pissed me off the most.
