Yeah.

Yes

2010-2011scape was top tier. 2007scape is shit.
Basically right before they went full goyim with keys and membership loyalty bullshit, it was god tier.

the quests are fun
the music is amazing
the world is silly and fun to explore

So much time spent fishing lobbies, so much gold earned

It came at a perfect time and was and still is very unique for its genre. A fucking travesty what's happened to it, but at least 07scape exists.

>buying 30k iron knives 50gp ea

Trimming rune armor for only 5k

I hate Runescape threads. I get upset every time I see one, they just remind me that I will never get to experience those golden years again.

The answer to your question is yes, OP. It was very very very good.

...

lol, 2010 runescape

if you still played runescape after like 2008 your just gay

fuck grand exchange

I'm truly surprised and disappointed that it didn't revolutionize the MMO market the way WoW did.

youtube.com/watch?v=2xfH-F-8ytk

Sort of the same thing here with WoW. I always wanted to play vanilla WoW but parents had this thinking of sites that asked for credit cards were scams. I wish they weren't dumb fucks so I could live the old WoW experience.

I wish I knew about VOIP back then.

I missed out on the golden era of WoW because I was playing Runescape instead, I'm not sure which I would've preferred.

You bet your fucking cock it was.

Runescape is one of the few games to do quests right, they felt like genuine quests, like proper adventures.

I love runescape desu, even the new one. I'm not sure what gaygex were thinking with EOC though.

Fishing lvls? 86 here.

It had a lot of point and click aspects that made the quests really varied and interesting because combat wasn't the only mechanic. The writing was usually pretty good too.

Losing all your shit on death also made for a more tense experience.

Few games make you feel like you're really on an adventure the way a quest like Underground Pass does.

>tfw it's time to do monkey madness

Nice

No it was dog shit and I've played it during early-mid 2000's.

Nice

Still is homeboy.

>tfw it's time to do elemental workshop 1-4

>Microtransactions the game
>Good

It's a dead empty husk of what it used to be

No.

It was popular simply because it was a free to play browser MMO during a time where console multiplayer did not exist.

RS was the poor man's MMO that you could play in a library or school computer lab.

The grind was obnoxious and it took days of play time to get anywhere

The combat was boring as fuck. Click and wait with your 100% damage reduction prayers active

Even PvP was just glorified dice rolls. All RNG with very little skill.

The only thing that really set RS apart was quests.

>used to venture deep into the wilderness with a wc axe, a dds and a tinderbox
>would set up camp in a ruined building and hang around for a while
>eventually pkers would come and they'd sit around and cook their food and shoot the shit
>other pkers would show up and try to fight
>i'd give the enemies a poke with my dds to help out my new pals
>inevitably died

nice!

Nobody else wanted to market to the lowest end of PCs by making a browser game good enough to compete with rs.Also it was never big enough that other companies wanted to copy it so it remained unique

Grand exchange, removing free trade, and destroying pvp killed this game so hard that they never rebound from it

That's complete bollocks it's basically still the same game

>at least 07scape exists.
Old School isn't even that good.

>everybody is a lulpvper with an inventory of sharks trying to get a lucky gmaul spec off
>botting/goldfarming runs rampant
>most "legit" players use AHK and OSBuddy to make the game easier
>Jagex keeps shitting out private server tier updates
>you can fucking buy gold with real money

Nice

RS2 was pretty good at release. That's about it really.

>tfw completing monkey madness for the first time
I was underleveled and cheesed the final boss with ranged, but it was still incredibly satisfying

Combat is some shitty knock off of every other MMO now. That alone makes it a completely new game, not taking into consideration the graphics also. Not to mention micro transactions everywhere. You log in, microtranscation. You do something, microtransaction.

It's a dead empty shell they're trying to milk as much as possible before its inevitable death.

This guy knows whats up. Superior MMORPG from the era coming through

>quests with leveled enemies
No

no, it was always a shit tier browser game for dirt poor third worlders

actual gamers were playing shit like UO, EQ, AC, and DAoC at the time

What were your main role in RS?

Player Killer?
Boss Hunter?
Skiller?
Merchant?

>Combat is some shitty knock off of every other MMO now

It's so shit it doesn't even get in the way though, you can also do legacy mode or w/e.

Graphics don't change the core game.

>Not to mention micro transactions everywhere. You log in, microtranscation. You do something, microtransaction.

Apart from the squeal of fortune what else is there?

noob

Fuck-Arounder.

Merchanter, I left the instant GE came out

I had one for PKing and another for merch and skills, you know the level 3's in the most expensive elegant armour (I forgot which colour) and some flowers

>eventually he outpaces me and gets 99 in multiple skills, while I can never commit and just do quests and experiencing weird little minigames that probably died 1 week after Jagex introduced them
he was a good guy

>tfw Nomad fucked me up for the longest time
>was satisfied beyond belief when I finally beat him
>kept playing for a while
>new update let you fight quest bosses, including 2 Nomads in a row
>power creep got so retarded that it took almost no effort to beat the 2 of them

That's when I started to realize I wasnt having a lot of fun anymore

Mining lvls?

I used to be F2P Skiller (PvP is a RNG bullshit, so I rarely try it).
Now as I got money for bond in oldschool, I skill again and do quests.

>can't pretend to be a girl on RS3 or OSRS because people wised up and usually want proof

that was like the best part of RS too, having a girl character and scamming losers out of their GP

>2dscape
>slowly collect an inventory full of limpwurts
>slowly collect an inventory full of red spider eggs
>get the apothecary to make strength potions out of them
>sell the potions for 1k each at the wilderness border pretty slowly
>get like 25k for a lot of effort but it felt like big money at the time
being a noob was something else

Yeah, but the old game is still intact. All the old quests and graphics, mostly unraped by Jewish chinks. It's an amazing nostalgia trip.

Probably only zamorakian who wasn't a cunt.

The quests are outstanding and easily the best part of Runescape, no other MMO's quests hold a candle to runescape's quests
Hell most non-mmo rpgs have shittier quests than runescape

Never liked it myself but I could see how people did. Except the whole "any player can kill you any time and take all your shit" aspect of it.

Adventurer, like god intended.

>Jewish chinks

You know jagex are English?

Bought by chinks.

It had a goofy tone, and getting that new piece of gear you'd have grinded money and xp for was very satisfying.

Personally I did get tired of it, played RS3 and OSRS a bit.

I spent over 1000 hours playing it, so it had have been doing something right.

why did the game have such shitty graphics at the beginning?

nope.

The only people that ever thought Runescape was "god tier" "perfect" and "good" were the poor.

You piece of shit.

What are you trying to say?

I've spent more on Runescape for RWT than any other game, probably tens of thousands now.

Or your standards were just that low.

It peaked in 2006.

I'm so heartbroken that they released oldschool at a point just after they ruined it. Actually, I guess they released it at a perfect point, but then added the GE anyway.

I only enjoy MMOs with a proper grind and loads of mindless tasks to do.

That's why I still play Runescape.

It was awesome because it was a sandbox game

They made it a borderline wow-clone game which is boring as fuck

I'm illiterate, carry on.

Guess I'm not playing p2p OSRS afterall...

youtu.be/rNaGquPJcLg?t=494

i dont think you know what a sandbox game is

duuurr

You ever think about the ones we left behind? How they're doing, where they are now, if they ever wonder about you, too.

It definitely had some great features. Quests were all significant feeling with decent objectives, writing, and humor that made it never feel like normal MMO quests that ask you to collect 10 of some random object. Music was surprisingly fantastic and there was a shit ton of it. It's also one of the few games where focusing on different stats can really individualize your character and open up quests that others can't do. Very few games allow you to just chop trees and become a master lumberjack. Most of the time you're required to level up and tasks such as that are just side activities. Stats like fishing, woodcutting, and mining actually felt not only profitable but completely viable as a character focus. Environments were also really fun to explore with lots of variety, secrets, and stuff to do.

It really rewarded players for thinking about their abilities. Can you use magic? Try using telekinesis on the items down in a bank's basement. Good at cooking and fishing? Make a killing by just fishing lobsters and cooking them right on the pier. It was a rare type of MMO that didn't force you into a specific role, and then rewarded you for whatever choice you made when building your character. I remember just focusing on cooking alone when starting out and I had a blast.

It had issues. Graphically it was pretty rough, even for the time, there were lots of ways to exploit the game or outright mess with players and very little control, point and click movement was questionable in a lot of action-oriented settings, quests were annoying sometimes if you don't bring the items you need ahead of time, and goddamn was everything a grind. Still, it was unique and fun.

>Yeah, but the old game is still intact.

>Grand Exchange
>Bonds
>Zulrah for piss easy money making
>RS3 gold swappers for even easier money making

Grand Exchange killed the atmosphere of the game and turned it into a glorified solo MMO

>glorified solo MMO

Good.

this is the reason why i quit runescape entirely.

what games should i play now desu ? :(

>tfw I paid someone at school £3 to do it for me

Feels like I robbed myself of a good experience there.

>underground pass is as big as an entire kingdom
>grand exchange area is as big as Varrock castle
my immersion

What set Runescape apart was that it combined the classic RPG with point-and-click adventure style gameplay. This allowed the game to play to the strengths of both genres while minimizing some of their drawbacks.

Does that mean it was good? Well, that depends on your point of view. It was, and always has been, a tedious game. If you can lose yourself in the game world to the point where the tedium becomes enjoyable, then you will like it. I can and still do.

I know everyone hates the Grand Exchange, but it did produce some of the most fun I had in the game.

>Want money
>Try to find something that I can sell that's worth it
>Notice that proboscis sold for a decent amount in the GE
>Fuck it, I'll see how I get it
>Drops from mosquitoes in the deeper jungle area where that tribal town is when you cut the wood
>Head over that way
>Have to make it through poisonous shit and decent level enemies
>Have a fucking blast cutting the stuff
>Get gems from veins that appeared randomly, talk to tons of people that pass through, get all the tribal stuff, fight voodoo spirits, and more
>Kill tons of mosquitoes, they drop 1-6 proboscis each time
>Throw it on the GE
>Make thousands upon thousands of gold

I'm sure as time went on the GE ruined things completely. But starting out it was an excuse to go out into more dangerous areas and dick around doing something new.

early RSHD was peak runescape

dds yo

at first i honestly liked it because of the convenience but it destroyed any sense of community the game had, now its just grinding without any of the good parts

>early rshd
>constant serverwide 500ms ping

yeah man ace

>want to play runescape
>don't have the patience for it anymore to click on things for hours
I wish I had my RS3 stats in OSRS. RS3 has bearable grind but the game is shit, and OSRS is autism-tier but the game is actually good.

My fucking nigger. I played that minigame before Summoning came out and made proboscis worth a dick. Unfortunately, I dropped all I collected because it was LITERALLY worthless at the time.
Tried out 2007scape, replayed the minigame for old time's sake, got two gout tubers in one hour and sold one for 1 million gold on the grand exchange.

Still a great game and still playing it, i'm really glad they are expanding the content to provide players alternate ways to do stuff instead of just adding more endgame stuff (Which they also do, but not as the same extent as WoW for example)

A great example of an MMORPG where you can play with friends and relax

>All these plebs complaining about the G.E.
Just play Ironman mode you dinguses, you can't use the G.E. and you have to get all the items yourself/trade with other Ironman players only.

Pretty fun desu, it's like I'm playing 2005

>friend says i should resub to osrs with him
>run around in lumbridge for a while and get bored because f2p and i don't have the attention span or time to grind anymore, played this game to death when it was actually 2007

>spend some time exploring the old environments which look completely new with these graphics
>draynor is maximum comfy with this new lighting and the new water shaders and shit
How is the gameplay now, are there any RS3 players in here?

I just walked around a lot. Didn't really level up or do quests that much

I am 90% sure that Ironmen can't trade with each other, making the mode pure shit because it's an MMO without the trading aspect.

>want to make tons of bond money in ruinedscape so I can play oldscape without having to revisit ruinedscape ever again
>barrows is about the only thing I can stand to do for more than an hour
>have to do a bunch of achievement shit to get double runes from it

>last task is to use a blood altar tablet
>go to GOP

>go through every fucking world with more than 100 people on it
>nobody there
>let bond expire and wait until GOP is on the minigame spotlight, then resub with another bond
>NOBODY THERE THROUGHOUT EVERY MEMBER'S WORLD
ruined everything desu, though it got me playing not-runescape which I'm grateful for

really wish they'd find some way to not make content obsolete, instead of devoting a ton of effort to making new shit they could just make some adjustments to dead areas

>trade with other Ironman players only.

This was more or less how I played the game for my first year. There's really nothing wrong with it; Runescape has a big, cool world to explore.

It's pretty much old Runescape, I like that old quests lead to newer quests and if you don't like the new combat you can go back to the older settings with ease, the Cred Forums clan sucks, mostly people who know each other IRL or just spout the ever loving shit of old memes... pretty comfy

Did any of you plebs play classic

It has quests still unrivaled by any MMO, and a great economy

Realistically though, if I had the money and wasn't on a shit tier family PC from 1998 in 2003; I would've played EQ, then WoW - and ignored Runescape completely

>tfw remember the day my parents finally decided to upgrade from dial-up because it made me really happy that runescape would take less time to load or something

No, but I did log during their last open period and have played a bit. It has its charm, and is interesting from a historical perspective. My biggest turn-off is the almost total lack of sounds.

rs2 was objectively better than classic tho

>and

What were they thinking with that shit? It took me hours WITH a guide, for barely any payoff iirc. Probably one of my most hated quests.

It was easily one of the worst, which means anything directly associated with its reward tokens is fucked.
What would be nice is if 1. the gameplay was made not-quite-as-shit, 2. the normal runecrafting robes were given some bonus given they're just cosmetic now, and 3. if there was some kind of universal minigame reward so you wouldn't have to waste your time on some bullshit. Like Thaler, but for every reward.

Man this reminds me of all the drama RS would cause in middle school among my friends and bullies

Runescape had/has the best quests on the MMO market.
Period.
The grinding is shit though.

literally was always good

community was based aside from the young kids that played

The first one was fine, but each got progressively more ridiculous

People say that, but honestly I think that the larger range of different ages and abilities made the community a lot more interesting. Now we just have players who are adults and experts at the game and it sucks.

Hey now, 2 was alright
3 went full retard with some god awful puzzle that only the autistic dev could have ever understood, but 4 tried to dial it back a bit.
You know what'd be nice is if the rewards were actually useful beyond a small boost to crafting and magic

...

Whichever one had this shit was the worst.

I feel like I just played it like an RPG. Did quests, got cash, leveled up whatever was most necessary for my current goals. Never enjoyed any of that contrived shit.

Yes

Dam shame

Who /hasn'tplayedinyearsandhastostartallover/ here?

Dam nostalgia threads always making me go back to a time I can never relive
WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME SO!?!?!?

like 2006-2008 I played and it was great. I loved runescape 2.

>Never enjoyed any of that contrived shit.
Honest question: what do you mean by this? I agree that it ought to be played like an RPG.

me, i'm level 47ish now and am doing relatively good atm, making a half way decent house and getting my non combat shit up.

helps that i got a friend to play it with.

Yes it was.
But the community was the biggest reason why it was good. People were in it to have a good time and occasionally help each other.
OSRS now just has a bunch of autismos trying to maximize their exp gain while spouting memes. Everyone knows what they're doing and so do you, that's why it's not fun anymore despite the nostalgia factor. And Runescape 3 is garbage.

>Runescape is one of the few games to do quests right, they felt like genuine quests, like proper adventures.

Couldn't agree harder. It was fucking great.

also thats an old picture, afew days old.

...

>Jungle Demon hits 36 with melee and magic

Anyone have "Memes were a mistake" - Gnome Child?

Only 3 was bad.

>Now we just have players who are adults and experts at the game
this feels like every MMO nowadays. i guess the kids are all playing angry birds or whatever the fuck.

Mix between Skills and Questing. I've completed a shit load of quests for someone with not that high of levels and was always into keeping my skills balanced. None of them are under 55 at the moment but i also havent played in a year.

i got your gnome child right here

ah so good. i have one of those whale stickers on my car.

quality kiwi memes

Quester mostly. I don't like dangerous PvP or PvM much and found grinding painfully boring. But I'd grind slowly, slowly to get some money and skills to do quests.

The game is too focused on maxing skills now too.

>Be in 7th or 8th grade don't really know
>Just got done watching shit quality Lucky Star episodes on youtube, just entering my weeb phase

No.

This.

i talked to a strange australian girl as well. 99% sure she was autistic.

>Be a newbie doing quests
>Have no idea what im doing
>Have to go to high level area full of giants to get ore (Or some shit like that I dont remember)
>Try to run past enemies but get attack
>Death imminent
>High level bearded miner comes to my aid and protects me for the rest of the quest

FeelsGood He ended up helping me with a bunch of quests and teaching me a lot about the game. You just dont get those kind of interactions now.

Is that Entropia?

You were probably doing The Knight's Sword

can an old runescaper get back into it?

>Log in after years and years
>Crazy new interface makes me panic and logout

>Meet a girl and use her house to build the penguin doll for Penguin quest since I never improved mine due to it being a money sink
>Become friends after since she seemed nice
>Hang out from time to time, quest together
>Become really good friend, she buys stuff for me
>Increasingly expensive stuff, spending millions on presents for me
>Always have to twist her arm to get her to take any single present

We ended up falling in love, and talked about moving in together. She was literally the nicest person I've ever met, literally "give my money away to the less fortunate" tier.
in the end it didn't work out since she was orthodox jewish

Took me ages to get over her, honestly. I still miss her sometimes.

I like you.

The community certainly isn't what it used to be and they have changed some things about the game, but on the whole OSRS is pretty close to the way it was.

It's a shame they made energy quicker and resting and then finally those stupid free lodestone teleports everywhere.

Each time they did something like that, the world shrank.

The GE really was a major mistake.

>Just got done watching shit quality Lucky Star episodes on youtube, just entering my weeb phase
>Log into RS and start fishing

this literally was me

Hey, the pass is underground and also haunted/magical. That one makes sense.

GE not so much.

I never did have the patience to finish Monkey Madness, and I was doing it around the time I was getting bored of the game. Mostly though, it's because that quest was bananas.

OSRS is pretty much the same it's just the community that's complete shit now.
Started back up a few days ago as F2P and had to grind 500 skill total just to get away from bots.
There's just too many damned fucking bots EVERYWHERE.

I played that minigame just for fun when I first actually became a member. Played it for ages, loved it.
>Karamja task diary comes out

>spend a few days fishing lobsters and killing dagonnoths and rock crabs so I can get spined armor and he can get rockcrab armor

It was hard as fuck but we did it.

>mfw I gained access to the heroes guild for the first time

The worst feeling is logging in for that 5 minutes of interest, just to see what the game looks like now and realizing that nobody talks in game anymore.

Give me a reason to start playing on my OSRS account again guys. I feel like all my time is wasted when I play.

Play it if you enjoy it. If you don't, then don't.

>she hasn't been online since and I can't remember her email
>login every few months to see if she gets online

I still think about her to this day.

This thread makes me want to resub just so I can play a comfy rpg of its ilk with others and stuff but...

The membership fee is like what, $9-$10 a month? I could afford it but convincing myself to when I could just drop that on a wicked microtransaction I've abstained from in any other game...

Ugh.

If RS sold a $100 lifetime membership I'd buy it. Monthly fees make me ill, that's why I still like GW2 so much.

you can buy membership with ingame money now

I know. But then I do not enjoy playing it, I've done that before but the setting aside of a few hours to grind out the few mil gp eventually clashes with my laziness to not do it.

Reminder that Guthix is dead.

It's 3mil for 14 days membership on OSRS. It's not that bad already made like a mil in 4 days as F2P so if anyone is thinking about doing it it's doable.

He was dead the moment Jagex created that design

Guthix dying was the best thing to happen to the game user. It was stagnant as shit because Guthix made it so interesting things could not happen from a lore perspective.

It's good for game devs to kill their characters off, makes for a healthy story.

looks like star wars online, or whatever the old star wars mmo was called

Anyone else read up on how quest series that you did a long time ago end?

Yes.

Most of them turned to crap.

Noob. I just started playing again and after 16 years finally got a full set of dragon armor

...

I resub for them! I've resubbed every time a part of the Myreque quest series was released. I loved every one of them. Morytania Madness this year was the most enjoyment I've had with the game in a long while. But then creepy dark shit is my thing.

I realize what's ruined a lot of this game for me is the constant handouts. I know I can just not accept them, but it still feels like everything I do is cheapened and all point is lost. Like why? I could just not do anything and levels and millions of gp just trickle in anyway.

I guess it can be considered a different kind of comfy in that way. You don't have to do anything in particular, just like it has always been...

Also the game has entered that age MMOs reach where the in-game cosmetics have become so garish and awful that it makes going near other players headache inducing from all of the clashing colors/shapes/particle effects.

>tfw goth chick just doing everything in Drakan armor.

This

playing oldschool without the ge was fucking cancerous it wasn't like the old days of playing in fally. Those days were gone. Game is so much less tedious now.

What was your first death like?

To the highwayman on the road to draynor village

I had no clue what I was doing

I think it was to those wizards outside of varrock

That design was shit.

I loved that in While Guthix Sleeps, the door in the Ancient Guthix Temple has his old "Skull with Tentacles" representation on it from the God Letters.

I don't even remember.

I remember the first, and only, time I got scammed though.
My fucking Bronze armor. Never again.

I also remember when I died to those level 33 skeletons under Ghost Town and lost my magenta partyhat.

I loved that thing. What a shame.

same for me. i thought it was the funniest shit and proceeded to spend the next 2 or 3 days luring newbies from the castle and cow pens to their death there.

>first death
Fuck if I can remember. First scam, however, is clear as crystal
>parents paid my memberhsip
>go to the Al-Kharid duel arena
>some girl sidles up to me
>asks for a fight
>bets their granite maul against mine
>lmao2maul
>no melee weapons
>no magic
>shiet nigga I'll just kick this bitch to death
>fight starts
>she pulls out a magic shortbow
>die like a bitch
never again did I overlook the duel agreements

Still play it, still good

Oldschool that is. Rs3 is actually a fun game however they crippled it with pay 2 win and it makes the game feel less valuable for the amount of time you actually have to spend playing it.

if people like your reaction image they'll use it; otherwise don't beg, it's pathetic

You guys remember Zezima? I met him In game once upon a time.

along with everyone else at one time. Fucker had a whole fanbase just scouting for him. He was like a tourist attraction.

no

He was an inspiration to us all

...

Just once that day will stay with me forever.

Don't worry about it
You never had a chance

Same

Ur Fault.

for a browser game definitely. The quests were actually fun to do and not your usual, go kill 10 pigs and turn in.

I played runescape back in the day but my problem was that all my friends had kickass internet (dsl) and I was on MSN dial up for years. Added to that they were all 60s when I started to play so I was stuck in permanent noob mode until late middle and junior high because I had no one to show me the ropes or play with. It was on a family computer too so the grind was impossible to pull off. Eventually I got satellite internet and I moved up the ladder and eventually bought my first rune scimy and chest. Proudest moment for me easily.
>runescape dies and everyone moves on to WoW or something else
>...
Even with all the bullshit I get incredibly nostalgic about it. It was this huge world to explore like some anons have said and I got to see my friends do this incredible shit that I never had the time to do. I wish I could get us all back together and go full tilt on the 07 scape for old times sake.

Literally a ripoff of

Weird how I remember people talking to me as they were grinding whatever. Now in other modern MMOs. . . It like single player.

Because modern MMOs don't require you to sit there for 200 hours doing next to nothing while a number slowly goes up.
Never understood the appeal of Runescape. I watch friends play it; it's 95% grinding and 5% actually pretty neat quests that unfortunately don't make up for the rest of your playtime.

The problem is that most players try to speed through content when they should take time to stop and smell the roses. The game is tedious, but the grind required to enjoy most of the game's content isn't that bad. Only players who are trying to get 99s grind a ton

You have never played runescape have you? The grinding time has been cut down significantly and most quests take hours to do and there are 200+ quests.

maybe it wasn't designed well, but as a kid it was incredible to walk around this crazy huge world, do unique quests, see other people doing crazy shit, and dying a bunch

the perfect game to play when you're in middle school

I played both in their prime. WoW from Vanilla-WotLK was literally probably one of the best experiences of my life, RS was more of a footnote.

...

I just remember my first time getting lured, getting bodied by the monks at the Wine of Zamorak while the lurer kept closing the door. I was pretty bummed about losing my 1k.

>take irl friend out into the wilderness for his first time
>he runs off somewhere and I don't see him for a few minutes
>get a PM
>"user, they got me!"
>Look at mini-map
>Just see a sea of white dots (20+) chasing after one green dot
>mfw

even 99s are piss easy now. 200m is just autistic, though.

>those lazy weekends, summers, and Christmas breaks when my best friend stayed over and we played RuneScape on shitty Gateway computers until 3:00 AM with Miracle Blade infomercials and Food Network shows as background noise
I-it's not fair, I wanna go back.

>mad world
Fuck man that was my emo teen anthem. No one fucking understood me

lvl 50 fish, half way to 99!

34 here, really need to work on it more instead of just cooking uncooked fish from others.

So fun that the players that play it opted to vote for the fucking GE, the very thing that killed runescape

>halfway to 99
Lol I have 90 and that's still a bit under halfway. Good try though

...

>used to run into the wilderness with nothing, grab steel weapons, steel plate, and steel legs then attack people to make them think I have stuff of value
>constantly got PMs telling me to **** off for wasting their time

>RSC
>stay up really late on easter because halloween prior they did item drops on England time
>no drops
>sleep
>miss all drops because i was asleep
fuck being 12 i wanted bunny ears

>didn't know how compasses nor maps worked which in turn made the world seem even bigger than it really was
>somehow wander off to south varrock
>dark wizards proceed to rape me
once I got to a high enough level I slaughtered them for a solid hour

If you're referring to its start in 2001, it's because it was made by 3 brothers.

I first met him in Castle Wars. He was on the opposing team and literally everyone in existence was pounding on him.

I'm curious as to what your definition of a sandbox is. Rs was definitely on the sandbox side of the scale.

>double xp on rs3 this weekend
>won 200m in treasure hunter from a daily challenge key
>just bought 99 herb/99 pray/99 summ and still have over 150m cash left
>now i can start bossing

feels good. actually started playing legit after 8 years of fucking around. made tons of gains.

runescape is ez modo now but who fucking cares, its not p2w and highscores mean jack shit now anyway.

Runescape taught me how to be a distrustful cunt. It prepared me for the real world.

I died to the hobogoblins on the peninsula near the crafting guild trying to find the air altar
i was fucking retarded when i was younger and didnt know the directions or even the compass in the UI so i probably got east and west mixed up
