ON HEAVEN'S DOOR

>enemy assaults your position
>deep strike right behind them
>murder the fuckers

My buddy just did this to me today in a game of 40k. Annoying and effective.

But yes Boreale is an idiot.

>Dawn of War 1 spawn tonnes of memes and memorable moments
>Literally nothing memorable in Dow2
What went wrong?

youtube.com/watch?v=cO3MttgvHUY

>1/10 writing
>10/10 voice acting

Why is this such a perfect combination?

DoW2 spawned the whole stealing Blood Ravens meme

>implying that isn't A grade writing
I sense heresy

>VA looks at the script
>"Shit this is fucking awful. Better do what I can to save it."

God bless them.

>"Shit this is fucking awful. This is gonna be so much fun."

This is how I'd like to picture it going. Everyone loves cheesy writing.

MULTIPLE

SIMULTANEOUS

DEVASTATING

DEFENSIVE

DEEP

STRIKES

...

DoW2's memes are the only ones that the greater 40k community even remembers. Thieving. Bloody. Magpies.

>tfw you're actually one of emperor's long lost clones but you got dumped on a exact ancient Earth replica planet inside the warp where your mind and body were twisted into thinking you're a neet

>the iron cage
>description outright says it was gifted
>mfw faggots cheat to pad the image

It all makes sense now. That also explains why Slaanesh is not degenerate enough for this world.

I love how the devs rolled with it and started adding descriptions that pointed out that was weird how the Blood Ravens had other chapter's equipment in the DLC.

""""""""""gifted"""""""""""

BROTHER

Look a bit closer at the descriptions, user. Things (intentionally) start to not add up. Stuff like

>Blood Raven armors claim this dates from a ceremonial exchange of arms between the two chapters in M37. Blood Angel archivists have no records of any such exchange.

The devs play it straight, but the sheer prevalence of "found, "recovered," "gifted," "exchanged," etc. is meant to be tongue in cheek.

>Look a bit closer at the descriptions, user

Ok.

>Ultramarines later fighting a desperate last stand against the hordes were astounded to see a Blood Ravens strike cruiser enter orbit and deploy drop pods. Caught between two forces, the alien beasts were defeated. This suit of power armor was gifted to the Blood Ravens with blessings and litanies of holy fury against the Tyranids.

I appreciate the fact that it's a long running joke, but there are so many examples of shady "gifts" that I wonder why the guy who made the collage felt the need to add the legitimate ones.

I AM PINNED HERE

>but there are so many examples of shady "gifts" that I wonder why the guy who made the collage felt the need to add the legitimate ones.
I believe it's comprehensive.

Surely there are legitimate ones, of course. That's probably how the devs started too, but when they wanted more unique items for better war gear, they started dipping into items a Chapter shouldn't feasibly have (Grey Knight armor, Custodes armor/weapon, the cool chapter-specific gear from fluff), and accepting the inaccuracies of it, they probably just went tongue in cheek, a la .

That's how I see it, at least.

how come pleb astartes armour evolved over the centuries but termie armour stayed he same since it's creation?

>but termie armour stayed he same since it's creation?

It hasn't.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Terminator_Armour#Patterns

But it didn't. This is what terminator armor looked like 10,000 years ago.

oh right I'm so used to 40k designs I forget about 30k

>absolutely no peripheral

I know they're pretty much walking tanks but jesus I hate this.

So that's why Venerable Dreadnoughts look like that. Cool.

>MK1 terminator armor aka SHOULDERS, THE ARMOUR
lel

>dat power claw
Holy shit. Is that the Carchadons' Chapter Master?

...

>that angry emoji face

Once upon a time, the first 2 (3?) marks of power armor all used to have fixed helmets that couldn't turn relative to the torso. However, advanced sensors within the helmet allowed the wearer to see when turning their head inside the helmet as if there was no helmet obstructing their vision.

Perhaps its the same principle here. I honestly have paid much attention to how Forgeworld has changed the old 1E descriptions of the marks.

how cool do chaos termies look at them tusks.

>So I told honored Magos Keronov to design the shoulders to be even bigger
>he actually did it, the absolute madman

>I honestly have not* paid much attention to

Jehova's Witness REEEEEEEE

Sounds like a tagline for a gay porno

Why is early era 40k art so fucking good

Better question. Why does your image have PEPSI awkwardly photoshopped onto his rations can?

This is hilarious.

>flamer digital weapon

Holy shit wouldn't that melt your godamn hand off?

There's more Warhammer 40k threads on Cred Forums then on /tg/ now.

I'm okay with this.

It's Jokaero tech, they don't have to explain shit.

1 40k games is coming out this year and 2 more have already come out.

No, the digital weapons actual jokaero use include lascannon, heavy flamer, and multi-melta, and they're fine.

I always imagine digital weapons as forming some holograph of the weapon that you fire as normal, rather than some weird monkey laser that happens to be melta flavored or whatever.

>liking dark crusade
You're fuckin gay

I'm unironically fucking super excited about Deathwing.

>You praise the Emperor
>You praise the Emperor
>My legs are okay

What is the current viewpoint on Eternal Crusade?

Crap but might be able to turn into something good?

What went so horribly wrong?

Warhammer thread on Cred Forums are much more funnier than those on /tg/

>dude uses a digital las weapon in Throneworld novel
>it only singes his finger
>there are lascannon versions

Get those bionic hands prepped.

I'm about to start the campaign of this game for the first time. What should I know? Please, I'm a bit worried that I put the wrong skills on my heroes.

SIND

The blood ravens stole his chance

Any estimation on when the next sale on this should be? Last time the grandmaster deal was cheap as fuck.

You'll be ok

I'm really excited about deathwing but for different reasons.
>Dark angels fanboy
>love the look of terminators and the deathwing

it's the first proper 40k fps since the ps2 and it's featuring my favorite things

Kyras knew he would fuck it up.

Also this

>Players will fill the height and width of corridors in some ships they come across, while limited mobility will make wide open spaces feel like death traps. Streum On Studios have set out to make this the first good FPS set in the >Warhammer 40K universe, assures Longuépée. “We have been playing games from the Warhammer universe since the second version of the Warhammer 40K board game. >Games Workshop proposed us to make a game in the Warhammer 40K universe, and we tried to keep professional and say ‘We’ll have to think about it,’ but it was really good news for us because we really like the universe.”

Can't wait

Finally

Force Commander: Meele.
Tarkus: Shooty
Avitus: Shooty. Don't let any git get close to him.
Cyrus: Sneaky (you will need him in the hardest difficulty)
Thaddeus: Meele. He is squishy.
Davian Thule: Both are fine. He can tank damage.

build meme comps like a completely shooty space marine force.

make everyone shooty,
That shit's incredibly fun.

And then in the xpack you get Jonah who is fun to use

What is a shooty Hairgel like anyway

Might give the game another playthrough

Shooty force commander is basically a shittier/sturdier avitus that just screams a lot to boost everyone around him. If you want to go full dakka its pretty decent choice.

the blood ravens stole his pants

Alright then

I take it Thad is naturally terrible at shooty?

Only use i ever found for thaddeus is terminator armor and teleporting around for that immortality thing. I dont think he can use any good guns so he is pretty bad at it.

Bump

Thaddeus becomes more useful in Chaos Rising, because his abilities gets some buffs and he now less squishy.

Shooty everything with hairgel as a guy with a heavy bolter or Rocket launcher is incredibly fun.

Thaddeus for close quarters assault with flamethrower that stuns and tarkus as your frontline infantry means that all your men are killing nids while keeping a safe distance.

thad + flamer = dazed enemies.
because he is squishy, microing him is pretty fun.
