He fucking buffs other civs' XP gain? Wow, Sumeria confirmed for cuck civ.

WE WUZ GREEK GODS LIKE ZEUSS AN SHIEEET

Gilgamesh!

So we're just including fucking legends now?

Civ has officially jumped the goddamn shark.

>2/3rds god, 1/3rd man
how?

He was in Civ4 too

Beat me to it.

Gilgamesh was already in Civ 4. Civ 5 had Dido and Hiawatha. And Civ 2 had fucking Queen Hippolyta and Amaterasu.

>Who was Dido
>Who was Brennus
>Who was Amaterasu

Civ has literally had legends for leaders ever since the first good one, 3.

idk father is a god mother is half god half human.

>father is a god mother

kek

>tfw people still know your name 5000 years after your death

greeks didn't exist when sumerians had cities with sewers

A man is a man. You can't say it's only a third.

well, he is legend hero but he probably also was a real king dictator and made up that sotry about himself

this seems like a really bad civ, given that the wording makes it seem like ally units don't give rewards to sumeria, just the other way around.

This desu. How is that a perk? Do his units also get xp from nearby allies? Otherwise, it sounds like complete shit.

Hiawatha wasn't a legend though. X

>people know the name of the fanfiction original character you made up 5000 years after your death

I would assume "ally" includes the player's own units.

Mod for weeb Gilgamesh when?

I would actually like an Israel civ with King David as the leader.

I swear I'm not a kike

there is actually proper gilgamesh anime
fate one is meh

>not knowing Sumer

If anything he's not dark enough.

yes he was

fucking Dido has more historical basis than him

He is ripped like some god dam jojo character.

Finally a leader with decent animation

>When fighting a joint war, Sumeria shares pillage rewards and combat xp with the closest allied unit within five tiles
It's really not very clear at all.

But it only applies during a joint war?

It's so bad they should call it "Adventures with Enkipoo" instead.

His abilities are pretty clever, but unless that ally thing works both ways they're a pretty shit civ.

Early science and gold is good though.

Would be cool, especially now that religious victories are a thing, but it's probably too controversial.

>forgetting about "top kek" Phil

So does Hercules rule Greece and a basketball fried chicken nigger rule Egypt in this game too?

I was going to ask how are you going to implement his problems with women into the game, but then i remember that user story with Boudica and Isabella

I am enjoying the comment section

are you guys retarded? of course it buffs the Sumerians too, it's like Sweden in Civ 5

No. Pericles and Gorgo for Greece, Cleopatra for Egypt.

Yeah guess so, would it help that it be called the Kingdom of Israel though and not use the Israeli flag? I mean even mudslimes acknowledge that the Kingdom of Israel was a thing (even if they would call the Jews, Muslim).

Oh god why can't I find that

Zeus for Greece when?

>Implying Gods and Demigods as leaders isn't good idea
Just imagine this fucker as leader of Israel

Then the civ lady should have made that clearer. The wording is very ambiguous.

That's better, but you'd still have the capacity to nuke a figure beloved by three major religions into oblivion.

Not to mention Cred Forums would shit this place up even more than usual.

is that war card pulled by two donkeys?

There is a problem with his GilgaMesh.

Go to bed El

see Damn fine animation though if they fix that.

>age of mythology 2 never

>mfw half of this thread didn't know Dido was just as made up

literally one post complains about the legends and then there's like fifteen correcting him, faggot

Putin for Russia when?

Threads not over yet.

Finally a GIRUGAMESH game

you don't get to complain about potential future posts, either

Gilgamesh was real fags, you can't prove otherwise. Were you there?

Why does he look Arab though, Sumerians were not Semites

Yeah, I was. Can you prove otherwise?

Yeah I asked your mom when I was banging her last night

It's kind of like a futanari.

>current year

underage newfag just fuck off

Joke's on you my mom is actually YOUR mom, brother.

Good show desu.

source?

are there more animations like that?

SNAKEEE

he doesn't really look semitic at all

Jokes on you, I actually have an oedipus complex!

>Gilgamesh is generally seen by scholars as a historical figure, since inscriptions have been found which confirm the existence of other figures associated with him in the epic.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRROTTTTTHERRRRRRRRR

So basically he is Jesus.

Damn Gilgamesh is fucking jacked

Jokes on you, I do too, you just had sloppy seconds!

Not my Gilgamesh.

Well no because Jesus is the son of God you blaspheming fuck

No, Muhammad is.

Not even in the Quran is Muhammad that, infidel

>Gilgamesh is part god
>not the son of a god

INSHALLAH

Yes he is, you just interpreted it wrong. :)

t. dirty sunni

They said they're including a bunch of co-op scenarios and short games in this one, so with his buff to other Civs I imagine Gilgamesh will be a pretty good pick for that.

When will they drop the guys and just make a waifu simulator with civilization building?

Beghzad please wipe out the Sunnis so they stop chimping out in the Middle East.

why am I so shit at civilization?

>UGG! ME MAKE FIRE!
>Dude, Ugg, you've gotta stop being a caveman. It's 2016.
>OH, SO JUST BECAUSE IT CURRENT YEAR UGG NOT BE CAVEMAN? UGG APATHETIC TO DECADES OF TECHNOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL ADVANCEMENT MADE SINCE UGG'S BEHAVIOR WAS SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE! UGG MAKE FIRE!

because then neo-Cred Forums will get triggered by too many women

its the new version of cosmos, and yeah, they have animations like that for basically every historical or legendary figure they talk about

SLING BEST

I thought it was just about explaining all the things about space you've already heard a million times already.

I might have to watch it then.

>be atheist
>also be historian
>tfw they completely butchered the story of Giordano Bruno for "RELIGION SUCKS LOL."

Fuck you, Black Science Man.

Hold the fuck up. They put my nigger felipe II in the last civilization game? I guess ill hve to get into this series.

This Civ game is gonna have some god-tier porn.

sure, if you're into claymation looking characters

>implying civ gets much loving from SFM artists
I believe those models aren't as usable as other games.

What? There isn't a singly good waifu. Cleopatra gets my dick hard but she's a certain kind of ugly as well.

Im sure Gorgo will be cute

yup

They even upped the DEUS VULT for Spain, so is a perfect civ to go for religion victory too

this

the female characters all have something off looking

but the male characters are great

Jadwiga will be top tier waifu

Are they usable at all? I thought the civ leader scenes might have been pre-rendered.

i hope they dont fuck her up

Some people are fast out of the gate in Civ. The Aztec, for example, and the Scythians, are two Civs that bring a lot of hurt early. But Sumeria is something else entirely. When humanity wakes at the Dawn of Time in Civ, Gilgamesh has been up for half an hour already, has made you breakfast, built a Ziggurat, hitched up the War Cart, and is ready to go.

Gilgamesh is your new best friend. He loves, and I mean loves his allies. He feels your pain. He rejoices when you rejoice. He goes to war with you. He is fired up. He has the car loaded. Montezuma declares war on you. Before Tomyris is finished denouncing him, Gilgamesh is punching Monty in the face with his enormous, beefy fists. He calls his left fist "The Vengence of Ur" and his right fist "The Vengence of Enlil." You've pointed out that maybe he could pick another nickname than "Vengence" for one of those fists, but he always laughs and slaps you so hard on the back you can hear your teeth rattle.

Then he holds Monty upside down and shakes him, and points to the pocket change that falls out: "Go halfsies?" he asks, grinning.

Everyone knows that Gilgamesh is about the business. Everyone knows you don't touch his friends, because he will come for you. And when you play as Gilgamesh, you can take care of your friends when they get hurt. You don't get the Warmonger penalty when you declare war on anyone at war with your allies. You are Gilgamesh. You look after your own, man. Because you know, deep down inside, in the marrow of your bones, that it wasn't technology or religion or agriculture that caused civilization to come into being.
It was friendship. Gilgamesh extends the Vengence of Enlil to you, and you bump it with your own.

They even included the Escorial in the background.

10/10 choices for spanish representation

Gilgamesh is love
Gilgamesh is life

There's a small collection of Catherine the Great .gifs and that's about it.

>Unique Ability: Epic Quest. Whenever you capture a Barbarian outpost, you also get a tribal village reward.

How good is this really, on practice?

Do blacks get to play this game?

The only part that matters for GOOD porn.

All I know is that Civ V didn't get much SFM content, and as just leader models and not actually necessarily fully rendered character models they may be harder to use in SFM. For example, you may never actually see the backside or feet of a leader so they may not actually have a backside or feet. Also Civ 6 seems to cut to cinematics of angry leaders when you declare war rather than seamlessly transitioning from the regular idle animation, so the animators may have taken a lot of shortcuts that undercut the usability of these models.

If you focus on Barbarians, really fucking good - remember that ruins generally get picked up very early into the game, but Barbarians keep spawning for a while, so getting +1 pop (or whatever the Civ 6 rewards are) is suddenly worth a lot more

They announced Kongo two weeks ago

pretty damn good

That depends. They aren't revealing much quantitative information because that is the stuff they tweak right up to the last second before release and even afterwards. It will be great if they want it to be great.

depends on what the rewards will be but seems really good, especially since they have good ealry game unit

ayyy waddup

I really, really want to play sumeria my first game, just because gilgamesh is mah nigga. But i also wanna play rome because of how fucking op they seem, any suggestions?

So he got the body of a man and the dick of a god? Or the other way around?

rome seems like a civ you want to play as later because they go extremely wide and have a fairly specific way of playing

first game usually tends to be best played as a fairly generic civ, like in this game America or Greece

I was thinking about going with Rome but maybe I should go with Sumeria and work may way through the civs chronologically.

I want Gilgamesh sfm porn with Cathrine

Is Catherine in Civ 6?

>dick of a god

Depending on where this god is from this might not be a good thing.

Jokes on you, I'm actually your step-father and you're my wife's son, but I'll try best to raise you like my own true born son

no :(

no

Well then Anglos better buckle up, because Vicky is in for a pounding.

Jokes on you, thanks dad

>he played zulu
Laughing Huns.jpg

Nice.
Is this from Space Time Oddysey? Good show, anyway.

yes

just a different catherine :^)

Discworld game where you play as a god, when?

DO IT

That Ziggurat single-handedly makes this civ powerful. The rest of the bonuses are meh to decent, depending on the barb camp frequency.

Civ has always been a cartoony fantasy game, NEVER historical. I have no clue why people assume it should portray reality when it never has.

This.

But I have learned a lot about history directly or indirectly from Civ 5.

Back in the day I used to play long games while watching documentaries about whoever I was playing as.

I'm trying, son, but it's hard

34?

What are the chances they make a Powhatan civ?

We could have qt Pocahontas

...

There's one African civ now, and they'll probably release Zulus later as DLC.

Jerusalem or any of the Crusader States should have a slot

DEUS VULT

I'm pretty sure Saladin is going to be the leader of the Arabs.

The Pope wandering around the Vatican snapping the dicks off of statues notwithstanding.

based on the bingo pic which is right so far, he is in

In Dominions you play as a would-be god (ranging from a powerful spirit inhabiting a monolith or a lich to guys like Athena or Tlahuelpuchi) trying to become the One True God after the disappearance of almighty Pantokrator. Similar to Discworld, the pretender gods grow more powerful where belief in them is strong and are vanquished if their religious dominion disappears. With some goodwill I suppose you could also draw some other parallels to Discworld (for example, Early Age Arcoscephale faction is a bit like Ephebe, complete with philosophers who don't believe in gods despite gods literally walking amongst men).

It's clearly not a Discworld game but might appeal to you.

You've got your crusades with Barbarossa, user.

No South East Asian this time around?

wow, GARUGAMESH is swole

>Leader Ability - Adventures with Enkidu When at war with a common foe, they and their allies share pillage rewards and share combat experience gains with the closest allied unit within 5 tiles. No Warmonger penalty when you declare war on anyone at war with your allies.

I like the idea, but it kinda sounds like a handicap. You'll be focusing on military, but you'll have to be very careful about how to use it if you wanna keep your allies. So you have the pay the upkeep for a big army, but you won't be able to conquer productive cities to pay for it. Unless being exempt from warmonger penalty also extends to the penalty you get when conquering cities, in which case you'd just be waiting for your allies to get into trouble before you can conquer half the continent to "help" them out.

At very least he should be a fun leader to get as your neighbor, assuming he really does stay loyal to you and sticks up for you for the rest of the game. In Civ5 I just got backstabbed so many times that I'd just stop bothering trying to ally with anyone. Want some money? Fuck you, you'll forget about the money I gave you when you want to conquer more territory. Want me to help you out in a war? Fuck you, I'll be next after I've helped you defeat your current foe, and then everyone else will turn on me for being a warmonger by helping you out. You're starting to dislike me? Fuck you too, guess I gotta start building a military because I'll never be able to change your mind when you've decided not to like me. Having loyal allies would actually make me consider helping them out or sticking up for them when they're in need.

>Casus Belli to finally go to war without being deemed a war monger and loosing all your buddies

Finally.

>Died by drowning in a river on his way to the Holy Land

I think the fact that if its a joint war gives you no warmonger penalties, AND the science and gold bonus of a ziggurat, outweigh the negatives of gilgamesh

I'm playing Gilgamesh because he's /fit/ as fuck

Dudes fucking shredded

Every Civ deals with that. They don't really want Civs going on endless rampages, and they want you to think more about war and go into it for a reason.

If you want to rampage around town, you need to do it before you hit the Renaissance, that's when Warmonger penalties really kick up, and where Diplomacy start to get more complicated.

I guess the video didn't explain Gilgamesh's leader ability well.

He and his allies gain bonus experience, plus HE CANNOT GAIN WARMONGERING PENALTY ON ALLIED WAR

They don't tend to go that far, they thought about doing Sacagawea for the Shoshone in Civ 5 but didn't do it because she wasn't remotely a leader

I'd love to see some actual war-like Native Americans, though, like the Sioux under Red Cloud

They should hire someone to read out all the civopedia entries so we have something to listen to while waiting for turns to lead. Imagine how much you could learn in that time.

don't forget Casus Belli

do you get crusaders as unique religious units?

With the fact that they're putting in additional leaders, I can see them using lesser known, or "not-quite" leaders, important people. It'd be pretty cool to have additional leaders that can drastically change the focus of your civ.

YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

You also should know, that with the new casus belli, ai get severely punished for declaring surprise wars, and even then, most casus belli only get rid of half the warmonger penalty, couple that with the agenda system, and it seems that ai will be a lot more trustworthy this time around

Spanish have crusader-like unique unit (when they conquer a city, the most influential religion in your capital will be automatically spread)

Civ VI itself has religious warfare, you got the standard missionaries, and the apostles and inquisitors, apostles and inquisitors do the religious fighting while missionaries just spread

what's it called?
Is it good?

They are already doing that - Catherine de Medici was only a de facto leader, not an official one, Gorgo was a queen regnant, not the real head of state, and lol, Saladin

I think Pocahontas might be stretching it a bit too far, though, but who knows? Just give me my waifu Hatshepsut for Egypt already

Saladin was a sultan

Exactly.
For those that don't know, the casus belli is how they want it to work. If you don't want your neighbors to hate you, you need to find (or perhaps, craft) a reason for you to go to war. Reclaim lost land, liberate an ally, or DEUS VULT. Some negate warmongering (liberating others) others halve it.

Also apparently there may be one or two more ways to declare war.

I'd agree, but I'd still be cool for say the Powhatan's to be a more agggressive Civ, and Pocahontas instead boosts your civ for peace times and shit. I just like the idea of being able to reverse how your Civ normally works.

to those wondering about religion, I think I saw a vid that summarizes what's known so far

there we go, found it

youtube.com/watch?v=8-dKrzVw5qo

basically you can do shit like convert a bunch of barbarians into your units through religion, sorta like wolololo

Sultan was the sultan of Syria and Egypt

there should be way to call for a religious war which gives all your units a buff

Oh sure, that's likely what they're already doing - Pericles seems to be a fairly peace-based influence civ, but obviously Gorgo as Queen of Sparta will be more war-like

Saladin is in the game as leader of ARABIA, which is the problem, sorry for being vague

there is a cause of war for religion

Not seeing the advantage of joining a joint war if you're just going to get penalties as soon as you start conquering shit anyway. But maybe the penalty for that is lower too? Or maybe your ally in the war doesn't care, so you'll at least have one really fucking good friend even as the rest of the world starts to hate you?

Ziggurat didn't impress me that much at first, since every civ seems to have some kind of unique improvement, but I just realized it's probably the only unique thing so far that gives extra science, which is pretty nice.

Agenda system does seem like it will make allies more valuable. Can basically tell right away if someone will remain your ally based on whether your goals align with theirs. That is.. assuming that their agenda will be weighted more than their desire to have your territory.

>Saladin is in the game as leader of ARABIA
Is it confirmed? Probably it's religion based so the leader of the Muslims.

>religious war
>no HRE or civ led by some form of figurehead Christianity so I can purge the world of future terrorists
you had one job firaxis

Are they doing anything to address the late-game micromanagement?
I don't want to be babysitting every single unit and city.

>Saladin is in the game as leader of ARABIA, which is the problem, sorry for being vague
Saladin's sultanate included Al-Hejaz, part of Saudia Arabia, and more importantly, and more thematically accurate, he ruled over what as the roman province of Arabia.

>HRE
You literally have Frederick I you fucking idiot.

has Civ ever included Ivan the Terrible?

No because he is terrible.

no, we've had lenin, stalin, catherine, and peter

So dictators can be in too? Why not hitler then?

Because he was a shit leader who destroyed his country.

Dictators that won

Builders are consumable, so you don't have to constantly find new things for them to do like with workers. Roads build themselves. I think they did away with population management in cities, instead using population to cap what you can build, so you're planning out long term instead of constantly telling them what tiles to work. Haven't heard anything about how they'll make a large military easier to manage, can't really imagine how they'd do that.

Because Hitler literally did nothing for Germany

Vlad ÈšepeÈ™ when?

Is it just me or is VI looking visually worse than V?

because they want to sell the game in germany. I also read an interview years ago before civ v came out, that said they dont want hitler because they dont want people roleplaying or associating with hitler

He was a Romanian, not Russian.

I see no issue with this

any SE Asian civs yet?

no, thank god

>instead of nappy we get literally who girl

Now that you mention it, I don't think so.

None.

You'll have to pay for them in DLC.

Most leaders in this game are clearly not what you would consider the first choice for the civ in question
I'm glad we aren't seeing the same people again and again

>mfw half of all Hearts of Iron AARs are German

Only in past games. Siamese and Sumatran

And? Vlad ÈšepeÈ™ and Romania when?

all of the most recognizable ones will be in the mandatory DLC

but I am glad that they took a break from the most common choices and that multiple leaders are back

What kind of UUs would Romania have, anyway?

nah, he'd suck

If they didn't want to keep bringing back the same leaders where's Ashoka for India?

probably will be like in civ 4, a second leader for india

Cool but I prefer this Gilgamesh.

Boyar

Well that's just because ed beach knows not to go against the memes

There's quite a few modded Native American tribes for civ V that are worth trying if you haven't.

They probably won't add in the Khmer Empire
since they probably want to keep Angkor Wat as a wonder

And a good thing too. Philippines would dominate since they are the most powerful.

Anime was a mistake.

They put in Gilgamesh, if so then why didn't they make Japan's leader Himiko?
Still at least Gilgamesh is bro tier with his powers so he might be this games Askia but less burning shit down and more flexing.

Archaeologists found his tomb, didn't they?

>anime
kill yourself

It's not like we have extensive records of sumeria outside of gilgamesh, RETARD.

Probably old news, but I noticed that we have tobacco as a luxury resource now. Small detail, but it always bothered me in Civ5 how a natural resource with such a long history of being traded and consumed didn't get included.

Can't wait until we get world congress back so I can ban it. Fuck smokers.

Leader of scythia also was legendary and most likely didnt exist

No mongolia?

Are there crabs

I'm banning crabs again

Where the fuck is Poland?

Now i kinda sad England didn't get King Arthur

Soon.

TO BE FAIR, his mother was a cow.

That seems like a pretty strange thing to make up.

Dude I was being a smart ass because in the vid they say they don't know if he was real or not and I was referencing Himiko since she is the same deal.

Anime was a mistake.

Yeah, but they're just a bonus resource, like bananas and deer. Meanwhile whales are still a luxury. Not seeing the logic desu

>Including a crop with such overt ties to slavery
What the actual fuck were they thinking?

I also accept Uther

Ban luxury was a horrible option. Hopefully it won't return if they ever add World Congress back in.

Civ5 had cotton, not seeing the issue.

Nobody knows who that is though.

So it must be true, right? Dumbass.

One is bad, granted. It can kinda get a pass because it showed up before.
But, TWO?!?!? Two references to slavery? Let me guess, there is a slavery civic that gives you extra production too?

There was in Civ2.
You could sack population to build shit quicker.

If Romania is considered too small, one could instead include all of the Balkan states into a Civ (minus Greece)
One could be a unit that replaces infantry, mimicking the area having a better grasp of modern warfare at the start of WWI (Since they'd just come out of the Balkan wars). Perhaps with a single use ranged grenades ability or something, I don't know.

His leader ability would be that any battle in his Civ's boarders increases the happiness of his cities while reducing the happiness, or fighting ability of his enemies, as he has his captives impaled. Or maybe under him the civ gains the "Pickets" tile improvement, that grants benefits (happiness, and later on culture) , and can only be built on a battle site.

I imagine Vlad would be a military leader, but one that favors defense and liberation, rather than conquest. Later in the game his Civ can get boosts to tourism based on his myth.

>You could sack population to build shit quicker.
Is that what you're referring to, or was there a slavery civic? Not 100% clear from your post.

Glad you could make it

>Balkan states as one
So Yugoslavia?, I guess you could have the guy who made them all into one thing as their leader.
Could be interesting.
Either that or Burgandy since it was a famous old state.

They did say that the reason they didn't want to add world congress in vanilla is because they wanted to make something more out of it. Which I assume means make it more logical and realistic, and not just a dispenser of sacred commandments that you're physically unable to disobey after an arbitrary vote. If they succeed in that, they'd probably replace luxury bans with something that makes a little more sense, like putting trade restrictions on a certain luxury or something.

Ok in Civ 2 you had policy on how your nation worked.
Republic, Democracy and so on.
One of the civic things you started with was slavery that gave you the power to lower the number on your cities, your population for a sudden burst of production.
It was really good in getting wonders out early since you could take off 2 population for a ton of production.

whatch your tone with me, boy

in civs 2 3 and 4, you could choose to have your labor civic be slavery, where in you could sacrifice a portion of your population to rush production

Can you imagine them trying to pull this shit today? lmao

>We will never get a slaver unit like CtP had

how is it bad in anyway? its history, and in the games, most civs would evolve past slavery some point in the mid to late game, and would attack you for still using it, doesnt seem like theres anything wrong with that

Ask a guy who lived in this dude's country anything

Aztec's unique unit is a very unsubtle reference to slavery.
>Unique Unit - Eagle Warrior - Powerful version of the basic Warrior. Can turn defeated enemies into Builders. (This does not work on Barbarians)

Other than that, I guess you can kinda count the Serfdom policy:
>Serfdom (Feudalism): newly trained Builders gain +2 actions

You can play Spain and completely destroy native american culture on EU4...

Its historic, no one cares.

You lived in Sumeria? Damn, how old are you?

How did you manage to live so long? Are you pic related?

I'm not supposed to tell

Taiga a best.

>the SJWs are out to get everyone, guys!
No one cares.

Fuck off.

But they have no problem with people role-playing Stalin?

Who is this guy ?

I think they are thinking in a way that appeals to the average person, in how, they think hilter is literally the worst person of all time, and have no idea that stalin or mao killed many many times more

The amount of people you've killed does not equal how bad you are.

so genocide, deportation and suppression of basic, universal freedoms is ok until you target jews ? what ?

Im pretty sure stalin is worse than hitler because he sought to genocide the georgians by starving them out, and mao is worse because he sat idly by as he let 100 million of his own people die

le smug nephilim.

Average people don't know about Stalin and Mao, and what they did? Really?

Best choice so far

So they're worse because they weren't actively doing genocide? k

>
>
>

Fate was so fucked up:
>Here's a burly, dark skinned barbarian who likes nothing more than having fun with friends
>He's Alexander

>Here's a sophisticated, fabulously rich pretty boy who thinks he's better than everyone else and is also slightly bisexual
>He's Gilgamesh

Why not the other way around? What the fuck.

t. Voltaire

this, the ideology tied to hitler makes him much more "evil" than other tyrants

not to mention, in hindsight, stalin literally saved european civilization and turned his country into a superpower. His paranoia and policies killed millions of people, but in the end, that's a net gain for us and his country.

Believe it or not yes, the average person knows stalin and mao existed, and knows that they were bad because they were communist, they dont know anything as to what made them actually bad however

How did you get that from my post?

guess what
it's called gilgamesh

No, I'm fairly certain it does.

Oh wow really?

What the hell, I hate Fate/stay night now.

Everybody was bisexual back then tho

That's literally Nietzsche you fucking idiot .

So a soldier is automatically a worse person than a child rapist?

When will Cred Forums learn nuance?

Also, lots of soldiers end up with no kills by the end of their careers. So no, it doesn't "automatically" anything you stupid fuck.

>stalin literally saved european civilization

"My gift to industry is the genetically engineered worker, or Genejack. Specially designed for labor, the Genejack's muscles and nerves are ideal for his task. And the cerebral cortex has been atrophied so that he can desire nothing except to perform his duties. Tyranny, you say? How can you tyrannize someone who cannot feel pain" -Chairman Sheng-Ji Yang, "Essays on Mind and Matter"

Pete Murray has elaborated on the Leader ability on >>>>>>>>>>>>>reddit:

"He can declare war on anyone at war with one of his allies without any warmonger penalties.
When at war with a common foe, Sumeria and its allies share pillage rewards and share combat experience gains with the closest allied unit within 5 tiles.
Gilgamesh can levy City-State military forces at 50% of cost."

>So a soldier is automatically a worse person than a child rapist?
A soldier is just following orders. A child rapist is doing it because he wants to.

The "tool" used to kill isn't evil, but the holder of said "tool".

My statement didn't leave room for nuance.

>Also, lots of soldiers end up with no kills by the end of their careers. So no, it doesn't "automatically" anything you stupid fuck.

When will Cred Forums learn nuance?

wtf man read some books that's Stirner.

youtube.com/watch?v=etDon1LH1vA

>My statement didn't leave room for nuance.

Great to know you're retarded.

That's retarded. Please don't even become a judge.

He did though. I don't like it either, but I'm pretty sure those western countries that were liberated thanks to the failure of Operation Barbarossa would rather attribute their existence to the USSR than be a subject of Nazi Germany and all that it entails.

why was alpha centauri so perfect morgan industries a best

>the more people you kill the worse of a person you are
>no it doesn't
>point out why you're wrong
>L-Learn nuance!! Retard!!

Fuck off, retard.

Angra Maiyu as ruler of Persia when?

>He can declare war on anyone at war with one of his allies without any warmonger penalties

A gank civ?

It's not wrong, but he still conquered all of eastern Europe and we all know he did not save them

[BIG BRIDGE BATTLE THEME IN THE BACKGROUND]

it's because of aryan master race. they should've made his eyes blue to be honest.

>just following orders
Not a defense. A drafted soldier can claim he was coereced into committing the crime of murder, but that's it. People who willfully become soldiers knowing they may one day be asked to kill are certainly not innocent.

>As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master.

Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

Because it was made by people who cared, who put effort into it out of passion. It was made by philosophers and historians and theorists attempting to be unbiased as possible while remaining grounded for possible futures.

>Intent matters.

>That's retarded.

lol

I never said you were wrong you dumbfuck, read that shit again, I just pointed out how your argument didn't prove shit.

>hurr soldiers kill people right?

Am I fucking Enkidu, and more importantly, is Gil fucking Enkidu?

Also they don't use Hitler because he was a miserable failure of a leader.

>hurr soldiers kill people right?

Yes, yes they do.

The Epic of Gilgamesh is such a great story, a perfect representation of what it means to be human.

I'm glad it survived all these years, the sequel looked like shit anyway.

You didn't mention anything about intend.
You said that 'following orders' is a valid reason to commit a crime, which is retarded.

It wasn't me, but ok.

Gianni fuck off

Wait, wouldn't sharing mean you split it up?

What sequel?

>The Epic of Gilgamesh is such a great story, a perfect representation of what it means to be human.
Explain.

The lobsterpeople

>that was totally someone else!

Nice excuse, faggot.
You were still defending the point.

true enough, but Eastern Europe was a frail collection of countries, they're not or were not as influential as the "big players" like France, Britain, Germany, Italy that give meaning and identity to the word "european civilization". Still a shame for those countries though

I never said the USSR or Stalin was the perfect good, that would be insane. But when the alternative is Nazi occupation, then yes, accepting the help of the USSR is the better option overall. Stalin wasn't the only one that committed atrocities in Eastern Europe, after all.

There's the civilized man, Gilgamesh, and the animalistic Enkidu. The twist is that they're both the same.

I hope they won't fuck up Peter animation
also I want shaving beard culture policy trait

He implied that defeating Nazi wasn't saving Europe, but plunging it into depths of degeneracy.

But the USA isn't in Europe?

its a story about a demigod who seeks to be remembered throughout history.
he does this by having adventures with his new friend enkidu, doing god like stuff, after enkidu dies, he seeks immortality in order to not suffer through death like enkidu did, after all attempts fail, he looks upon the walls of his city, and sees that his massive walls will stand long after he does, and the stories of his exploits will live on, and then he realizes that just doing things is the way to get remembered

>you and, we're not so different

Woah such an original twist, that totally hasn't been done a million times already.

>defeating Nazi wasn't saving Europe, but plunging it into depths of degeneracy.

I didn't imply that, no

>But when the alternative is Nazi occupation, then yes, accepting the help of the USSR is the better option overall

As a French, I have to quite agree with that. Although the better thing would have been to prevent Hitler from the start but yeah

Do we tell him?

is alpha centauri still playable? does it work on new systems?

Works on my laptop so I'd say so but the the aspect ratio is a bit wonky as you might expect.

Alex got fucked up by abussing the ancient magical equivalent to steroids, pic is him younger

Also Gilgamesh being slightly bisexual makes a lot of sense considering Enkidu the other half is him being the "rival" in a H-VN

...

works fine on windows 10

GOG release works alright, a bit stretched cause of aspect ratio.
Main problem is outdated UI.

I always assumed Civ players were fans of history but it seems every thread is about whether Hitler should be in or not.

The answer is no b/c laws which make the game hard to market. Not because they personally have anything against Hitler.

Now can we please go back to talking about the Sumerians?

>sequel
Fate isn't canon, user

>plunging it into depths of degeneracy.
literally what.

It did exactly the opposite, considering that Western and Southern Europe were aligned with the US and were as such anti-communist.

If you meant that democracy is degenerate and were implying that having freedom is bad then neck yourself.

Heh, that's a good one.

it's also absolutely useless in multiplayer

all he's good for right now is the ziggurat, no idea what the barb camp rewards can be

watch the fuck out you could get banned for this

Democracy is shit though.
Better than Nazis and communism, but still shit.

Holy shit, someone saved my ban.

no it means you both get the same rewards

I SAY AND I DO DECLARE I DON'T KNOW MY HISTORY AND STUFF

Civ 6 looks good, but will it be better than modded Civ 5?

That's cool, then. Sharing pillage rewards also implies that you're supposed to actually go out and cause some trouble with your best buddy, not just join his wars when he asks for help. Could be really fun if you find someone to be your partner in crime.

Back in Civ V you got warmongers with high loyalty and friend points (Shaka and Genghis Khan). Seems like this is turning that aspect into an ability.

They really want you to make Gil your war buddy with his abilities.

its going back to what civ 4 was, in almost every regard. And no amount of modding could make civ 5 as good as 4

I like to think that Superman will be as remember if not more so than Gilgamesh in 10,000 years.

Yeah sure, it always starts with friendship. Later on you'd be taking Gilgamesh's sausage.

There won't be any humans in 10000 years.

Who is your favourite leader this time Cred Forums?

Who is the least?

Gilgamesh just wants you to fully understand how much he loves you.

Gilgamesh

That Viking nobody. At least people sort of know about Denmark

Not with that attitude.

in the epic he "embraces" enkidu for 7 days on end, take that as you may

who roleplays as stalin?

it's not gay, it's expressing your deep bond with your bond-brother

They think they found the place where it is located, but the war in Irak fucked up their research.

Trajan, I do enjoy being a mechantile leader and he seems to have the biggest boost to earning money. I just wish his animation wasn't as stiff.

I think Japan's condensed city strategy looks fun. I'll probably play as them first

if you're playing him why worry about his animations?

where is my gay civ porn

Oh so that explains why the video didn't include most of Gil's stuff. Apparently the videos were made prior to many of the changes, and they were made with a more surface-level description.

So who the fuck is the warmongering civ leader that cares not for your feelings or votes and just want to paint the world in his color?

>That Viking nobody
Don't you be talking shit about Harald Hadrada, king of Norway and leader of the Varangian Guard.

You probably will want to trade with Cleo since she gives extra bonus to trade routes too

Fuck you, I want my waifu Isabella back

Monty, Victoria, Catherine, Harald

We'll have an alternate leader for Spain, it will be one Isabella, not sure if is the same of Civ V.

Phil's face is so hilarious though.

Ah, that fucking music. Both songs. Jesus christ I spent all summer of 2014 just listening to those themes, pretending I wasn't living in the arctic asshole of the world.

Please tell me Civ 6 has the same composer.

Civ VI's composer is the one from Civ IV

>3 days until the embargo lifts
>still have saladin, gorgo, and peter to reveal
>tfw they will probably reveal one a day now
>tfw a month full of complete civ 6 gameplay from youtubers fully showing off every aspect of the game
feels good to not get fucked over by a company these days.

yfw when there is a second Isabella for Spain, a fat ugly slut whose biggest achievement was to marry his homosexual cousin and have 11 sons with different fathers each time.

>Its 2016
oh god!

>biggest achievement was to marry his homosexual cousin and have 11 sons with different fathers each time.
So a Habsburg?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Wait. When is this game coming out again?

Oct 22

Partially right. The person producing the main theme of civ 6 is the one that made civ 4's baba yetu theme, Christopher Tin. But the one making the main score for the game is the one that made it for civ 4, 5, and beyond earth, Geoff Knorr.
21st of October. But they're bringing out the game to high class youtubers and reviewers a month early.

>this ban
what

>Not even a month
>No leak yet

It's at times like this that I ask why I bother with PC gaming

Why would there be a leak when until now, the game was only played at the official studios?

they've already leaked the entire roster, so they must have tighted their shit up

Thanks!

>Civilization
>Kongo

wut?

Oh, I was wondering why they started releasing more than one video a week, but that explains it. Looking forward to Saladin or Peter tomorrow, but I'd rather just skip the Gorgo reveal.

Pick up a history book

I hope we get a rip of the main theme soon. I've only heard part of it but it sounds pretty neat.

Nah man WE WUZ LMAO

Gilgamesh was at least probably a real king. David and Solomon were just goat-herding chieftains. I wouldn't mind Josiah though.

Gilgamesh sounds like a blast to play. You are the Stone Cold of Civ. Break some glass and go Fuck up other civs and pillage their shit at no cost.

>Giving a shit about what people think about you after you are dead

Maybe he thought you were Cred Forums

There is one of Isabella shoving her crucifix in her twat

GIRRUGAMESHU WA HONKI DESU

If you're moderating a video games board you should probably know what SMAC is.

They will never put him in.

>he isn't building a legacy
Make your life worthy of admiration

Like he deserves it

You won't care about your legacy when you're dead.

Sid is a Jew. Of course they won't. Not that that is any great loss.

We will never have a thread without discussing why Hitler will never be in the game.

Because hitler was garbage

Why have someone like him when you have bismarck who is objectively a million times better?

oh wait you just want hitler because MUH NAZI

Civ 5 music was fucking godlike

BEST TRACK COMING THROUGH, STEP ASIDE NON-BRITS

Solomon was the last leader of the unified kingdom. After he died, Israel split off from Judah during a civil war and then got fucked by Babylon.

That being said, it'd be nice to see Abraham as a second Sumerian leader down the line. Yes, really. Abraham was from Ur specifically.

haven't they said that the alternate leaders would be DLC stuff?

gorgo was leaked with the civopedia on stream, so she will probably be in the base game unless it was an old build and they scrapped her.

I don't think they've outright confirmed alternate leaders yet, people just assume it because it makes a lot of sense.

civ 4 had better music

>implying
Brennus's theme'll prove you wrong right there, fag-o-tron.

they havent outright revealed it, but it isnt like people are assuming it.
store.steampowered.com/app/289070
for the deluxe edition
>Expand your empire further with the Civilization VI Digital Deluxe which includes the full base game, the 25th Anniversary Digital Soundtrack, and access to four post-launch DLC packs* that will add new maps, scenarios, civilizations and LEADERS for a bundled discount.
as well as the image I posted. so they are 100% confirmed unless the build they've been playing on was from an earlier part of the game that got totally scraped.

Only the title theme.

stop trying to jew me again, Sid

the barb camp thing sounds op...
when barb camp density is the same as in civ5 and the ruin rewards are also as strong ofcourse

imagine getting free population out of the ass.

fuck off goldstein

CBP was a great effort but there's only so much you can do with Civ V modding.

Hopefully they'll deliver on their promise of Civ VI being built to be modder compatible and we'll get some Civ IV tier mods.

>Fall From Heaven will never be in another Civ game

I hope they reveal more info on modding soon

...

Niiice. I thought they were making him a scrawny little shit. Where's the lion though? He needs to be holding a lion with an arm.

I'd rather have Phoenicia if we're going for a Levant civ. Or Solomon rather than David.

If Gilgamesh isn't real, how come his civ is real?

>not realizing that hitler dragged germany from the pile of shit it was after WW1 and made it a global superpower that everyone in the world feared

holy shit how dense are you retarded faggots

i get its "hurr durr hitler iz bad" but you can at least acknowledge his accomplishments for fucks sake.

Kill yourself

>hitler dragged germany from the pile of shit it was after WW1 and made it a global superpower that everyone in the world feared
>And then promptly drove it into the ground where it taken over by a foreign power and had no ability to govern itself

truely the greatest of leaders.

If your eyes aren't real, how come my post is real?

>Not realizing that Germany was a global superpower that everyone feared before Hitler

his accomplishments were terrible for Germany

Prussia ceased to exist, all the Germans who lived there escaped or were deported, and was divided between Poland, Russia and Lithuania.
The Germans lost Silesia and Stettin to Poland. All Germans who lived there were deported/expulsed.
The millions of Germans who lived in Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, the Baltic countries were expulsed.

Hitler destroyed the Prussian-Brandenburg State of Freddy 2 and Bismarck. Hitler was almost Austria's revenge on Prussia.

I do agree on having Stalin as leader of Russia, as in the old civs.

Abraham wasn't a leader of Sumer, he was just some potter.

But it's not.

>Meanwhile whales are still a luxury.
Ambergris, maybe?

he's right though

>Hitler was almost Austria's revenge on Prussia.
What if he was?

What if Hitler was an Austrian ruse to make Germany suffer for what they did to Austria.

Austria made all the wrong decisions on its own tho, Germany only enabled it...

I think I've forgotten my history here.
What did Germany do to Austria?

Not really.

You mean
>Hjalmar Schacht saved the German economy, while Hitler sacked him for not being Nazi enough and then almost had him killed

Prussia started a war with Austria to get some clay, and the elite in Austira probably blames Germany for losing World War 1.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire knew that they'd fucked up, they would have been taken out of WWI inside of a year without the help of Germany.

And it was Hitler that fled the draft in Austria and volunteered for the Germany army.

>The Austro-Hungarian Empire knew that they'd fucked up,
Did they? Did they really, because if history has thought me anything then it's the fact that you always blame everyone but yourself.

Conrad von Hötzendorf, he's the guy that kept on telling the Emperor to go and attack Serbia, but was kept in line by Ferdinand, later in the war said that he'd made a terrible mistake and that if Ferdinand was still alive he should have had Conrad executed for it.

Two gods doubleteamed his mother maybe?

dunno; you're retarded maybe?

fuckin berrypickers

...

Anyone else feel like all the civs in 6 so far are too well rounded? Like they all feel the same, none of them have quirks that drastically change your playstyle except for maybe Norway. All of these civs feel pretty much like blank slates with slight bonuses in certain areas with a cartoony leader to mask the lack of uniqueness

they literally all feel crazy overpowered and different to me

like, compare their shit to Civ 4 or 5, where they had less unique things to them and very often "spearman that's tougher"

>1000 A.D

Is this bait? 1000 A.D was the middle ages. Vikings already came and fucked up England and shit by this time.

t. Himmler

hownew.ru

Where is my race of posessed armor that lives off of money?

Playing Spain full Deus Vult mode seems fun as hell. Playing Gilgamesh in a slight "RP" mode would be fun too. Play so that you protect your allies no matter what with protective wars and liberation wars.

The UAs were drastically different, and only like half of the UUs were samey. Now all of the UUs are samey because they literally are just "slightly stronger versions of other units"

You get two UAs instead of one this time and many of them are pretty gamechanging

seriously, what is samey to you

>I know absolutely nothing about history and learn brief snippets from my dad: The Post

>having more of something makes them more unique

I dunno, I get the same feeling from V. Only a handful of civs like Venice and Indonesia can truly be said to drastically change your playstyle. I agree with though, the abilities of some of these seem incredibly powerful.

Nigga is swole

.. yes? Having more unique things makes a thing more unique. Crazy, I know

Civs have a lot of unique parts to them. I guess that having a lot of different parts means there's less focus, so you're not as restricted to one playstyle and one victory type per civ. But to me, that's a really good thing. I fucking hated how half the civs in Civ5 were completely focused on domination victory. And how some civs just locked you into one path from the start. Fuck playing as a civ specializing in tall empires and getting a weak start location. Fuck playing as an early expander and having barely anywhere to expand on your home continent. Fuck trying to play a peaceful cultural civ when some asshole on your continent intends to take it all for himself. Fuck playing as Egypt when someone manages to beat you to every wonder.

Having your playstyle decided before starting the game leads to too much frustration. Gimme civs that are adaptable enough that a single setback can completely obsolete all their unique traits and units.

Pretty much all archaeologists and historians (aside from creationist memesters) accept that the Unified Kingdom didn't really exist. Israel and Judah were separate from the start, Israel being a powerful urban kingdom while Judah was a backward rural highland polity barely describable as a kingdom. Only after Israel was fucked by Assyria did Judah come to any prominence, which is when they made up a glorious history about a unified kingdom centered at Jerusalem and ruined by those damn degenerate Israelites. Babylonians came later and fucked everyone up.

The Davidic dynasty did exist, but in the time of David and Solomon they were weak and backward as shit even by Canaanite standards (and Canaanites had fuck-all standards).

Judah would still be a cool civilization from a cultural standpoint, seeing as their literature is among the most influential in human history, but they were never a powerful empire.

No lie, Scythia is the sleeper best religion civ. People are going to buy into Spain being the best for the first month or two, but Scythia's ability to spam unique building holy sites around horse resources will give them such an early religious lead that no one will be able to catch up.

That said, Greece has arguably been one of the most prominent and influential civilizations throughout history. Rise of the city-states, Greco-Persian Wars, Athenian empire, Western civilization, Alexander's conquest of Persia, Alexander's empire, being the main cultural and artistic influence on the Romans, Byzantine Empire and the like. It wasn't until the Fourth Crusade and the Turks' unfortunate arrival that they lost their world superpower status.

Oh god yes.

is my wife boudicca in civ 6?
dont tell me i have to leave her behind

She's in as a Great General

You're a mistake.

wtf, Boudicca was shit, why is she a great general hahahaha, all she managed to do was getting her entire people slaughtered after chimping out

did he actually do anything other than fuck around and play knight at tournies?

surprised it isn't a mod already desu

tfw no Summaramat for Assyria

...

Thats exactly what i question when she is leader of the celts.
Like frogs bitch about but Boudica is even worse since she has been in multiple civ games

TIME TO KILL SOME MONGRELS

So is Mongolia not in? How can you have a civ without the greatest empire to ever exist?

FWIW, her unique ability in Civ VI is instantly recruiting any barbarian units next to her to your side.

Mongolia was not a vanilla civ in III or V, either (they were in the Play the World expansion in III and were a free DLC in V). Genghis Khan is in as a Great General, though.

They are in it. They are the red and black units that spawn next to unclaimed horse resources.

>greatest empire to ever exist?
lel

Many major civs are missing though... Persia for one, as well as the Byzantines and the Ottomans. How can you have a civ without these?

The same reason why Persia isn't in, so that they can sell them as DLC because people will buy it

>Largest contiguous empire in history
>not the greatest
Mongols did this shit before pussy shit like guns. Brits can suck Genghis Khans dick.

The Epic of Gilgamesh needs the Hollywood blockbuster film treatment so bad it's not even funny. If the right director got on board and didn't fuck it up, it would be amazing.
