You've done all the hard work, and you'll be caught up before the next patch drops. Everyone ends up at around the same 5-10 ilvl range anyway, and BiS doesn't count for shit outside of progression raids.

x.4 patches are the time to come back. This is the highest the ilvl will get until the next expansion.
ilvl 270 will be the cap for the next 9 months.

Used to be like this but I stopped playing after I did all content once outside of savage because I can't commit that much time anymore and spent 2.x cycle doing raiding and took its toll.

Gitting gud at the raid mechanics itself is only half the work. You gotta find yourself a group of players who you enjoy playing with enough to be consistent and optimistic while raiding. Even one bad attitude can ruin the whole thing.
Outside of team moral, work on your job's tunnel vision. Don't worry about if anyone else fucked up, just focus on your own job and that's it.

I just started the game and I dunno shit about what i'm doing.
I'm mostly just running around doing Fates and Hunting Logs alongside the main story quests.
Is it alright to stick to only one class for the majority of the game? I know I can switch and I should have more than one class leveled, but I like to stick with solid ideas when I make a character and I can't see the one i'm making being anything other than a Paladin.

About time. A friend of mine ended up not buying because the first 20 levels were trash, which I couldn't argue with.

Stormblood seriously needs to rearrange skill distribution, almost every class is shit until 30. 35 is great since it means you can get your job, have some time with it, and unlock Titan so you can get an idea of what the gameplay is actually supposed to look like.

I kind of miss this game, but I kind of don't. I never really had good friends who played the game, and I played with ZR on Ultros for awhile, but I never really felt like part of the group. There are cross-class skills that you absolutely need for endgame. Don't know what those are for PLD, but you should at least put some time into WAR/MRD.

SMN is the most fun job to play, any change is likely to make it worse. And sadly, that's what's going to happen with 4.0 since apparently jobs are too hard to play now.

HW is Heavensward, the first expac. There's 2.0 content (1-50), 2.X content (a bunch of lv50 quests that give you a shitload of xp nowadays), and 3.0 or HW content, which is everything in the expac. HW raised the level cap to 60.

Exactly. I resubbed after the first few weeks of 3.0 a little before 3.3 launched so I could catch up on what I'd missed, but I hadn't missed much. It wasn't long before I was just doing dailies again for no reason, as I had no friends to raid with.

Won't be coming back for 3.4, maybe at 3.5 or near the end of 3.5 so I can get ready for 4.0.

First on your checklist is reaching level 30 with your main class. Then, you reach level 15 with your sub-class. Then, you unlock your main job. Then, you reach level 50 with your main job. Then, you beat the main story and all subsequent patch content with your main job. Then, you reach level 60 with your main job. Then, you complete the Heavensward (HW) main story and subsequent patch content with your main job. Then, you start branching out with other classes.

Hot tip: Paladin is pure, concentrated hell from levels 30-40. This is because they decided to give them the DPS stance at level 30 and the tanking stance at level 40, while warrior and dark knight both get their tanking stance at 30. Tanking through 30-40 content as an undergeared paladin is most likely the hardest part of the game up until savage raiding.

Crafting is fairly simple actually. The specialist skills suck so don't use those.

The idea is to try to build up 10+ Inner Quiet stacks by using Hasty Touch w/ Steady Hand II and durability restoring skills, then finish with a buffed Byregot's and Ingenuity II buffed Careful Synths.

There are "rotation" guides on the internet that go more in-depth.

Stay away from Limsa Lominsa and Ul'Dah's Adventurer's Guild.

Limsa is a hive of degeneracy no matter the server.

That's debatable, considering the points will be 100% lost on SCH because of cleric stance. It depends on if you're planning to raid as SMN or not, because they really don't matter for normal content.

All VIT is good because it lets you be undergeared and still clear content. No one will notice you have 30 less INT or MND.

I'm not going to talk about the people there, except to say that it's often exaggerated in both directions and that server pops make much less of a difference in general than most people think they do.

What I will say is prepare to spend an extra 18$ fee on the game, and don't ever think you're going to get any hunts or housing in.

Gear development would not be affected, they already have a system in place that stretches the gear depending on the character model. If you increase breast size beyond the maximum with cheat engine for example, it still looks natural except for the lack of gravity on the breasts. They'd just need to add that system for butts and hips too, it shouldn't be very hard.

But it's the exact same thing as regen. With enough white mages in the party, you could regen your way through anything because, unlike galvanize, both regen and medica 2 stack on each other.

Say you have a Prey mechanic. Normally you have to use a single target shield, Adlo or Aspected Benefic, to deal with it. With stacking shields, you could just use Succor and Aspected Helios and totally ignore the mechanic.

The amount of shields going out wouldn't be at all game-breaking, because the non-crit variants will be of equal potency to an adlo crit, which lasts all of 10 seconds in an encounter and serves as a reprise for the scholar to reapply their dots. The insane shields would be a crit adlo + nocturnal barrier, which still wouldn't hold up against some of the more brutal tank busters in the game.
My point is, having them stack would do the same thing as having all the regenerative assets of whm+diurnal ast: give healers more cleric stance time.
