There is no seperation between multiplayer and singleplayer, so you can do everything solo (or do everything with friends, if that's your preference). You have AI characters that are fairly competent to help you (though you can also NOT take them if you want more of a challenge), so most fights have a full four person party.
Each of the six melee weapon types are balanced with one another, and you always have your choice of any melee, any ranged, and any shield (the last of which also makes up your passive defense). Guns are...not as balanced, but which is the secondary OP one is different per game (sniper in Ress, Assault in RB. blast in both, shotgun isn't good in either). The shields are balanced for...most the game, but eventually the tower wins out since you can negate its drawbacks easiest (slow deploy speed)
Multiplayer is a bit wonky. You only see groups that are actively recruiting, and once a group stops recruiting it can't recruit again without disbanding. As well, the PC version is region locked - fairly easy to get around if needbe, but a further impediment to pickup games that really didn't need to be there. The system is basically built for playing with people you've made plans with in advance and is horrible for pickup games.
The monster designs are damn interesting in my opinion, though it does have less overall variety than MonHun - due to a combination of having far, far fewer entries, and spending a lot more time on the hitboxes of each individual monster. There's no iframes whatsoever, yet you can dodge under attacks as long as your character model can fit under the visible attack.

Yeah you'll spend a decent amount of time getting your gear straight, personally I felt like I spent more time gear hunting/making in Resurrection than in 2, but thats just me. I'm really in it now that Im at rank D15 since Im trying to make rank 15 gear.

Supposedly, it's make a R15 of EACH TYPE of equipment. A shortsword, a long blade, a buster, a hammer, a spear, a scythe, a sniper, an assault, a blast, a shotgun, a buckler, a medium shield, and a tower.

Still trying to find an ideal melee setup to burst down the Kyuubi family on +99 missions as Kyuubi in general are highly resistant to bullets.

Infernal Vortex does about 30k per tick under ideal circumstances. Quite a bit more difficult to consistently land during BR than bullets; I'm still not quite sold on melee in BR but it's getting there. Might try testing Execution under BR next but I doubt the DPS can match Infernal Vortex.

The clothing options for females kinda suck and melee is a bit unexciting due to lack of blood arts. Cornix also makes pure gunning easy and too overpowered since it makes OP generation irrelevant.

I liked the cutscenes in Res though, the fight scenes were especially much more dynamic than RB's. Soma was pretty good as the focus of Res's storyline, better than Julius or Romeo by far.

It's funny, GE has quite a few things to it that feel like "this was in MH, but I think it could be done a little differently to make it just a little bit better or streamlined", to me at least.

In combat, Cradle is far better, but thats their experience. If you give them the same tools then things would be all for the Cradle, lets see if you get to play as Yuu again and he gets some short of power.

The Blood Captain is basically a living legend in the Far East and when they meet people the usual introduction is that their reputation precedes them. Defense Unit is in awe of the them and that's 3 years after Yuu left. Tatsumi says out of his 11 years of being a God Eater, the Blood Captain is the best he's ever seen.

As for Blood in general, Lindow was floored when he saw what blood arts could do so I suppose they're pretty up there as well.

It was the opposite for me. Cornix OP gain with Devour OP up skill was stupid and by slotting OP autoregen up in it, you can pretty much do an 80% full oracle reserve with every devour. I beat pretty much every single mission including Arius Nova under 5 using only Cornix and HDH bullets with the Arbalest.

You have a ton of Blood Arts to harvest Oracle in Rage Burst

Ontop of the base damage buffs giving you 20% and 30% extra damage instead of 10% and 10%. Being able to put the Anti-Grav chip on everything means it's a lot easier to max out damage on Blast Guns.

That said, Arbalest is a damn good gun.

Not really, nothing in Rage Burst comes even close to the stupidity of Cornix with Oracle Autoregen Up, not even Storm Zone B or Soul Devourer.

Isn't pre-Burst Lindow just a normal, 1st gen God Eater with a good head on his shoulders, a desire to keep his subordinates safe and a hot sister?

What's so OP about Cornix? In Rage Burst I'm hitting 12,000 and up with just my regular attacks, I don't imagine it getting much more OP than that.

I use it mostly when there's too many aragmi, and they're being bitches, or for survival quests and farming.

Cornix is an air devour, a fast one at that.
In it's default configuration it gives you about 75 OP per much. If you throw in devour oracle absorb (Resurrection has 2 you can stack) you'll get a full 150 OP per munch.

Not talking about damage, talking about OP gain.

Cornix is an aerial Predator Style that does a fast midair devour and swallow. If you have the Devour OP gain up skill, the devour alone will give you around 120OP. You can also slot in Oracle Autoregen Up so that you gain a buff that gives you fast OP regen in burst when you devour with Cornix.

Move to Russia its 15USD here

yes

It's a lot faster than MH.
You also have a shield with every melee weapon and no i-frames on your dash, so use that giant hunk of metal.
Basics are very similar, but GE is its own thing.

Watching for tells isn't a bad way to play but Monsters in this game will lock on and track you throughout their attacks. You need to actively avoid an attack rather than simply walking away or dodging through it (because there are no iframes on dashes either). It's a bit of an adjustment if you're used to simply not being in the area an attack is going to land like you can in MH.

Keep in mind you have a double jump which lets you avoid things like Borg tail swings and your shield can always be used on demand. Even slow towers give you plenty of time to block most attacks.

Oh ok, that sounds nice. I should try that for the horrid Aragami with no low crush weakpoints.

I'd still say RB is more OP though, I mean it's stupid how easy it is to kill everything.
Crimson Orochi is the only challenge in endgame, but that's only cause he jumps too much.

Smash Borg back legs until it's enraged/activated, then move to shield and break that for another weakspot.
When it trips from hitting the legs, move to stinger and break that for highest possible melee crush damage.

The tell for spin is obvious, you shouldn't have trouble with that. If you do just jump and swing your hammer twice, that should leave you plenty of air time to avoid it.

I don't recall his other attack tells, but basically stay cautious while his shield is raised and you'll never get hit.

I personally think it's easy to play it like MH, especially so with Hammer.

True but it shares a tell with other moves that leave him open. Honestly I find it better to just risk it so the fights can go faster. I kind of strayed from midair and combo hammer attacks since they swing so wildly and never the the points I wanted to.

I usually just use jump strong ignition strong or weak+strong and Strong Strong Weak for like a triple pound or something. All other moves seem to hit shit I don't want.

I just started RB and why did the music just cut out in the middle of a mission, this never happened in Resurrection

This keeps happening to me, too and it's annoying to no end.

It's a sound bug. It happens on the old maps.

A bug where GE1 and GE1Burst music fucks up and doesnt loop.
Its not the fuckig maps is related to the music if its from GE2 or GE2RB it wont fuck up midway.

The tell is always him moving his tail to one side while leaning a little, it's just that sometimes he raises his shield before starting it so you might move into a spot where you can't avoid it thinking he's doing something else.

All of Hammer's moves are useful, though it's aerial game is pretty weak.
You gotta learn to aim the hits.

Square/Small hit is generally a swing to the right, so use that when you're on the monster's left.
Triangle/Big hit is mostly attacks that swings to the left, with an attack in the middle that moves your character forward so you can reposition mid combo.

Boost Ignition is useful for wailing on weakpoints and using Triangle Boost to avoid attacks, but it's not strictly necessary in Res.

It's actually very similar to MH Hammer contrary to what people have said in this thread, play it very much the same way and you'll be fine. You switch the Monster's Head in MH for whatever Crush weakspot an Aragami has and that's the basic gameplay of waiting for your opening to smash it.

This is pretty much what I did, you can also Import your Save and switch genders to get more clothing

I got it without even buying half of the pants.

Hey guys,3 quick questions. When do I get black blood arts? I'm on difficulty 4 and I just want to know how long I have to go. Also, how do you get more chips for bullets? I only have charge and weakness mitigation and finally last question. Should I be saving all of my abandoned parts? I haven't really touched them and this whole customization thing with them is way over my head. Is it something like monster hunter where I can install the same skill from an abandoned part over and over to level it up to get to the level where I want it to be or something else?

You need to use the Tier4 Blood Art to get any decent exp on it's black version.

Keep using bullets with blood chips. That's how you get exp to unlock more

For both Arts and Bullets, the higher the difficulty tier of monster you fight, the more exp you get for fighting them.

If you're sticking to 1 weapon type, go ahead and use your ABAs on it. If you're switching between multiple weapons, hold onto them.

Fulfill the requirements on the description each mission to increase your percentage. Use BA Awakening up and spam it on weak points.

I keep saying, God Eater feels like it was made by some fans of MonHun that thought that they could do better and then actually DID what they thought was better.
So many of the differences are things that people complain about with MonHun.

Some Blood Arts branch into a Tier 4 and a Black version. The Black version will do more damage but has a certain quirk about it, like requiring a tighter timing or only being usable while in Lv3 Burst.

You don't NEED to use blood bullets to level up blood bullets, at least - it's based on OP spent that hits living Aragami. I unfortunately forgot to test with blood bullets of any descriptor, so if someone who hasn't gotten all blood bullets for all guns could do that, it would be appreciated.

If you go to the Archive through you're character's terminal in their personal room, you can watch all the cutscenes you've seen, and also sample all the voice lines from every character in the game, including yours.

Characters even have lines for actions they can't possibly perform. Like how Gen1 Gunners have lines for activating burst themselves, which is impossible for them since they can't devour.

Melee weapons are very well balanced against one another. Buster Blade is arguably the weakest but that's mainly because of the moveset rather than damage output.

Blast Guns are generally the best guns. In Rage Burst, Assault guns are also a good option with Snipers and Shotguns being weaker. In Resurrection, Snipers and Assaults are now tied for second place with sniper getting a slight edge thanks to itemization.

Scythe is pretty damn mobile if you link dashes to its triangle combo. You can dance circles around aragami while slashing them to shit. It just doesn't have the max range of fang deployment.

You can knock out all of Resurrection in about 30 hours. The only real roadblock are your initial Diaus Pita fight and Blitz Hannibal. After that its like 2 or 3 missions then you get to the last boss.

Anime Pita is pretty intimidating but he doesn't have a lot of moves he uses against you. Main thing is to avoid the flanks because most of his attacks begin there. Tower Shield is a godsend against him. The biggest problem is that the mission you fight him in also has a Prithvi Mata you need to deal with and only have about 2 minutes to do so before the Pita arrives.

Blitz? He's an experience. You'll fight a lot of Hannibals before him but they don't quite prepare you for Blitz since your windows to attack and defend are cut to 1/3 or what they usually are.

Hannibal is resistant to HDH because the bullets don't target the weakspot but he doesn't have much health in the first place so IODs to the back scales kill it extremely fast.

The initial bullet sticks an orb on an aragami part. That orb then fire 3 to 4 bullets point blank into it. It's very good for breaking specific parts or hitting weakpoints that are otherwise obscured.

Well it was developed with the psp and vita in mind so I don't know what you were expecting.

HDH are homing bullets that go up. Sniper HDH bullets in GER are really strong since you can easily abuse the strengthen-over-distance module coupled with the aim-at-foe module.

IOD are (usually) straight-shooting bullets that fire a cling orb that then fires the payload on hit (usually Shot or Laser modules) in a staggered manner. The idea is to have to only hit once to deliver multiple hits concentrated on one hitzone.

You'll fight plenty of Blitz Hannibals in Rage Burst but the final boss is legitimately fun.

Plus Resurrection is all about Soma chilling the fuck out.

You could move onto Rage Burst if you wanted to. Resurrection is pretty much Shio fanservice, but it does have some nifty things like Soma growing out of his edgelord phase, Arius Nova being an early form of a psion, and the 1 on 1 missions with B Team that flesh out their characters even more. Arius Nova is also a pretty good fight.

Just get to a higher difficulty. You eventually plateau if you stay in the same tier. Just focus on Blood Arts you use regularly and leave the rest for later.

In Rage Burst, they have to be fired at point blank, even if they don't use spread shots. This basically negates the inherent advantage of a gun. 4 bullet modules also limit what you can do quite heavily.

In Resurrection, they have 6 bullet modules compared to 8 for the other guns, and take a big penalty when using Super Range sniper bullets so they can't take advantage of max ceiling HDH bullets. While they can fire other bullets at max range now, their signature spread shot still require your to be next to the aragami to get max damage. They can make good use of Radial bullets since they favor crush damage over pierce though.

Though the lack of customization possibilities is really damning.

However, if you like to use guns as a simple alternate damage/element source shotguns work great since you can swap into it, pop a couple shots, and swap out without having to change ranges.
Also helps that I dislike bullet autisim so simple pew pew is fine by me.

Assaults do the job just as well. But yeah, if you don't want to deal with the bullet editor a shotgun loaded with spread will do great.

The nice thing with that 8 step one is that it also works in Resurrection. And you can even make it work for snipers and assaults.

You can shave of 18 OP from the cost in Rage Burst by removing the grav shot. But it only works for that game.

Assaults get to use baby HDH bullets. The great thing about them is you don't even have to aim, just point your gun in the monster's general direction and the Control module does the rest.

Well, Soma was special in that it was the first attempt at combining oracle cells and human cells, which probably lent to the whole wombsplosion.

You need to keep leveling your blood bullets, they go up to level 9. It gets easier the further you are in the difficulty tiers. Just make a cheap bullet and spam it on an aragami, but make sure it has at least 1 blood chip in it.

Once you've done all of Ciel's character episodes you can, what you need to do is shoot your gun a shitload and spend OP while doing so. You'll get points for blood bullets for doing that.
Eventually, you'll stop getting points for doing that. This is normal. It means you need to go up a rank before you can get more bullets.
Most important one for Assault in Rage Burst. You can even slap other things to it if you want, experiment with it a bit, but this one's important by itself because it's your reload button.

Having a blood bullet is not NECESSARY, nor is being cheap and numerous!
It's based on OP spent and actually hitting the target. 150 OP spent on a single bullet that hits the target will give the same number of points as 150 OP spent on 75 2 point bullets that hit the target.
I'm a dumbshit and forgot to test if blood bullets give MORE points, but they are not REQUIRED to get points. I maxed out three guns without using a single blood bullet. You also get 0 points for using the triple replica Rapid/Normal exclusively, that much I know for certain.

This is basically my main bullet for my Sniper, besides an IOD bullet, the range is terrible since you have to shoot it right in front of the enemy, and corners will fuck up the Penta formation if you shoot near those, but it downright shits damage when it does hit

You can do pretty much anything with that specific recipe. You can attach a bomb to give it crush damage (great for Chi-Yous) and you add blood chips to enhance it further.

There are not torrents because denuvo copy protection not being cracked for this game.

I'd say it would be something you can pump about 4-5 of into an enemy from a full OP bar, so that you can A) not worry so much if you miss (because missing gives you SHIT ALL) and B) fire when you have less than a full OP bar, but C) aren't spending the whole time firing piddly shots
This is solely for leveling bullets up, though.

Unfortunately, you're stuck at 4 until waaaaay later in the game, and even that's with putting a specific blood bullet module in the first slot to give you a fifth.

You can do a quick D1 mission if you want to get it done fast. You can bring multiple people too, but you can only trigger 1 episode at a time.

Scythes are deceptively weak. Where most weapons will hit for 600-1000, scythes hit for 150 4 to 5 times.

They're bad against small aragami but much better the bigger the aragami hitbox gets. They're also good for abusing OP/HP regen on hit, since they hit multiple times per input.

The downside is that hitting weakpoints can be tricky. Their basic Square attack has too much forward movement and a very inconsistent arc, fang deployment and Triangle combo will just hit everything. Air combo is pretty good for breaking Borg tails.

Yeah, just be sure to keep the weapon upgraded to the highest rarity possible. Being 2 or 3 rarity behind your current Difficulty tier will really start to hamper your damage and you'll be getting hit for a lot. Getting a weapon to +30 will give you around 20% extra base damage.

1 circle means 50% bonus damage against a part weak to that element. 2 circles is 75% bonus damage.

You can upgrade all gear to rank 15 eventually. For the Kurogane/Shirogane line, you need to do Gil's character episodes to be able to upgrade them. They are not bad for general use although you might find other craftable alternatives with more desirable skills as you progress through the story.

I love using them against big Aragami due to the fang combos hitting tons of the enemy's body parts, there's little more satisfying than retracting the fang at an enemy's weakspot and seeing the damage flying, also they make groups of enemies relatively easy to manage
