Microsoft makes most of their money through Windows licensing, not the Xbox division. Not having any games on PC would hurt them more in the long run no matter how successful Xbone would be, since the Windows monopoly relies on people being "used" to Windows and growing up with it. The Xbox was meant to be complimentary to Windows, and to prevent a Sony monopoly on console gaming. The 360 and Xbone however were actively harmful to Windows gaming though and the Xbox division was becoming detrimental to Microsoft as a whole, they had to reign them in. Yes, you can argue porting every Xbone game to PC might seem a little excessive but this is the end result of Mattrick's arrogance. Halo5 is a great multiplayer game that can justify 'game' purchase, but not 'console' purchase. Only Forza has the weight for it, but racing games are hypothetically suppose to be better on PC due to variety and scaling.

Sunset Overdrive is Quantum Break, Knack, Uncharted 4 tier of gaming. They are fun to play for a while but not 'console' purchases again.
