Well, the Ress part is easy at least. He starts off decently well, doing what he's told, until someone dies in front of him. He freaks out, might run away might not. Then when Alisa has her freakout, he doesn't help her out of her coma (and definitely doesn't help her get better) and that snowballs into the Ark Project succeeding. Which means it aaaaall returns to nothing, it just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down.
Rage Burst is...actually a bit harder to figure out, because a good number of the points where it'd be easy for him to fuck up are the points where he'd actually DO what happens in the game. As much of a fuckup as he is, one thing he DOES is care about the people he knows and tries to keep them safe, so the initial Marduk encounter would likely turn out the same - only with Shinji doing a lot more screaming ala the Shamshel fight.
The real questions are if he GETS IN THE ROBOT to save Ciel and if he does, how he handles Romeo's death. If the latter involves freakouts and running away, then he's gonna get his ass courtmartialed and that's that, things will lead to the World Opener triggering the Apocalypse and more tumbling. If he reacts like he does after the Bardiel fight - and focuses on the instigator of the incident to his own detriment - there's honestly a good chance of the game's plot going...mostly as-is, with more whining and fetal positions inbetween missions (and shitty relationships rather than good ones. And no way they'd put him in charge of anything)

And like I said in my previous post, it is entirely Anno's fault
