Is 11% a new record? I've never seen anything lower.

For a major title, probably. I've seen legitimately busted games (mobile app ports, greenlight games, etc) get lower.

Probably. Even Uriel's Chasm has 16%.

Wasn't arkham knight that low when it first launch?

It used to be 9% lel

>Sean Murray was posting multiple times a day before the release of NMS.
>Has not tweeted anything at all for over a month
I-Is he gonna make it brehs?

...

better game:
youtube.com/watch?v=acM7PElWI_4

He's fucking dead

It's likely he's dealing with a lawsuit so his lawyer told him not to communicate publicly.

Daily reminder that no matter how much of a flop One Man Sky was, it'll never be as bad as Trails in the Sky.
>TITS favorite game got destroyed by 2 games despised by them

There's no more preorders to sell, so why would he keep talking?

He's sipping his martini in his second hawaian villa senpai, he already made it.

What did Sean mean by this?

It's a disappointment, but in no way does it deserve a score that low. Looks like goobers are review bombing popular games again.

>popular games
hehe

DELETE THIS!!! TRAILS IN THE SKY SC IS THE BEST JRPG EVER MADE! TOZ A SHIT! NEPTUNIA A SHIT! IT DOESNT MEAN SHIT!!!

>Trails in The Sky had the potential to be a million seller, I swear!

>Creating planets, solar systems, galaxies.
>Game is pretty much 2 levels: Space level with random ships and Planet level with randomly created landscape.

>Pretentious western developers

Every fucking time

It's funny how Cred Forums's beloved games always sell like shit.

...

I hope these guys get hit with false advertising.

If there's an industry that needs it, it's this one.

...

Zogstar got nothing from the heist fiasco, and the others things, so you can keep dreaming.

zogstar?

>hasn't tweeted since a week after launch

does nepnep not get shit on my SJWs because the developers are female?

Bullshit.
What a sorry attempt at playing the sympathy card.
"I know I lied through my teeth, knowingly overhyping an unfinished game, but some people played our alpha and liked it also muh childhood so hope u like"
It really bugs me that he's probably walked away from this project thinking he left a positive mark on gaming as a whole.
I suppose he has.
Now people will be a little more conscious about pre-ordering anything.

Shit was 10 years old bruh.
Or are we talking just Steam sell?

"There's no way a large number of consumers would leave bad reviews for a product they were dissatisfied with, cleaning it's a cabal of people working against the game!"

This is the level of cognitive dissonance you are operating on.

20% and under should literally only be for unplayable games

How old are those Nep devs?

They get shit on for being internalized sexism

I don't think it's how unplayable it is, but how slight it is for the price tag.

>it's a cabal of people working against the game!

yes? this shit is a meme my dude. what do you think review bombing is. not even saying the game is more than a 5/10 but people clearly jumped on the bandwagon here.

>He actually thinks Sean is rich

He isn't. Sony is going to take an ungodly amount of money, probably around 95% of the profits. Then you have to divide what's left by 15 people. Then you have to pay taxes on that income. On top of that you have the class action lawsuits he's no doubt dealing with.

Sean made like 200k. Max. He'd better manage it real fucking good too. Because 200k isn't shit.

this was a message that came with the game, he genuinely thought people were going to like it. He wasnt playing a sympathy card

It doesn't get shit on because it's a niche title and none of them even know about it.

The game was a 4/10 for the first 30 minutes. Then after that there was a sharp drop down to .5/10. The game is ACTUALLY that bad.

Remaining silent is better than arguing with autists so he's doing a great job dealing with this.

>everyone on the team has to get paid
>mass refunds

Wouldn't the lawsuit money come out of Sony's portion instead of his own income?

It's not even Cred Forums's.

Falcom faggots are just one of those obnoxiously loud groups that always want attention for their masterpieces.

>tfw you learned to hate Ys as a little kid, because the people who shill it and sperg about Adol are universally shitters
>it never changes
>ever

You forgot to mention that he probably won't make a game again with his reputation.

Sony is a big fucking company. They have so much pull, and lawyers that will fuck your ass raw. They will no doubt have blamed Sean entirely, and shifted the lawsuits to him and HG.

I work for UP. The fucking corruption at the top of big companies like that is so rediculous that I can see it all the way from down here at my working class job.

At this point talking would only make it worse.

Cred Forums really did a 180 on this game the day this photo got posted

TO SEE IF I STILL FEEL

Niche. Audience.

11% sounds pretty niche to me, user.

He literally says he's afraid what people will think of it.

That's far from genuinely thinking people are going to like it, dumbass.

No. This game has no audience. Not even a niche one.

I watched some beta cucklord go all the way to the center. The kid had literally centered his entire channel around NMS. He called himself "No Man's Sky Gamer". Little balding faggot nearly cried when he got to the center and it just put him in a new galaxy. He spent the next 2 hours on the verge of tears trying to find a difference in the new galaxy from the first. Now I'm pretty sure he changed his channel name and doesn't play it anymore.

This game is a perfect example of why manor developera don't take risks and instead make the same game every year with a new skin.
The response this developer got for trying to expand games and our perception of how games are experienced is why this industry is Hollywood 2.0
Remake after remake
Rehash after rehashsame formula different title

Sure the game wasn't all that good but at least they TRIED something new
So when you are sitting there looking at next year's releases and wondering why it is all the same old tired crap you have played a million times look back and reflect on what you are doing to this game.
Believe it or not, your opinions shape this industry. Your money shapes this industry
Major developers and production companies pay attention to things like this, and when these things fail the devs go 'nope fuck that, let's make another CoD instead'. You people not only have shit all over the game, but have destroyed the developers name also. What dev would go out on a limb with a pet project now, seeing this happen?
Just remember, you only have yourselves to blame

Is the lawsuit directed at Sean or just the company? Either way, I think he will come back to the industry, just as a drone within the whatever company and not leading it. It's likely after Hello Games goes down, he'll seem to vanish off the map while working somewhere else.
This. Considering Sony have already said he mismanaged the release of the game, I'd assume they already got their money's worth and are leaving Sean to the wolves.

>Sure the game wasn't all that good but at least they TRIED something new
It's literally phase 5 of SPORE, but in first person.
Remember how SPORE was supposed to be the epitom of blunder, 10 years ago?

>I've also seen some people feel lost (...) and I've seen some others feel lost

I can try to shit out a golden egg, doesn't mean I should be commemorated for it.
This was a case of downright lying to the audience, nothing more. The fact that so many people bought the game shows to the industry that the market is there, but the way this game does it is not the way to go.

Is that Kojima in a wig

>all the neo Cred Forums fags who shilled this obvious looking shit

Kids are not people, Anonymous.

Who the fuck cares?

They juste had to not overhyped it, and polish controls and graphics more. Juste à little bit.

Who cares about reviews when the niggers who made it ran away and took all the money from the day 1 sales.

Who could support this?

All of those people purchased the game user

>tried something new
>3d starbound with even LESS content

It's very clear you don't play games if you think the procedural generation meme is something new.

Also learn to type you illiterate nigger.

I'm genuinely curious if the mass amount of refunds effected Hello Games

On the Super Best Friend Cast, which I listen to weekly, they made a joke about 'what is the standard for a minimal amount of players?'
No Mans Sky
Or Blunderborn

okay you guys, youre just being bullies at this point.

>making a game at a scale that's never been done before
As if that is an accomplishment or particularly difficult with procedural generation.

Youre acting like people are grading it on a scale of 100.

This is the percentage of people who bought the game and were satisfied with their purchase

Only the most uptight account would look at this blunder and say "This game was not well received therefore literally everything about it is wrong.
This. There's still a lot of bad design decisions but nothing irreversible.

But they didn't run away with ALL the money
Because a shit ton of people refunded the game.

Thank The Emperor for Steam Refunds
If only we had them in 2013...

TitS still sold well enough to somehow convince Xseed to localize the third game. Plus both games are quite popular with critics and consumers alike.

This is one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen. NMS was a critical flop of legendary proportions, despite very good initial sales and preorders (But with many being refunded later on) that at this point has no hope whatsoever to recover or expand.

Trails FC and SC are both relatively niche old JRPGs that are well received and sell at least well enough to make a profit and encourage the continuation of the localization of the series in the west.

Not only that, he openly admits it can't live up to expectations.

he changed his twitter to @hellogames from @seanmurray and tweeted just recently.

he is not going to be personally saying anything anymore, at least to the masses.

Who is worse
Todd
Sean
or Randy?

Only if we can get him to kill himself and specifically blame shitposters for it.

Is Hello Games going to exist after all this?

There's no way people are going to look forward to their next title.

Randy by far. He's just scummy, Aliens: Colonial Marines was disgusting. He just comes across as a completely self-serving sack of shit.

Todd can at least deliver games that somewhat meet the expectations he talks about.

Sean definitely fucked up big time with NMS and completely under-delivered on his promises or flat out lied about shit that wasn't in the game. However, at his core, I want to believe he really did want to deliver on his promises, but wasn't able to. Doesn't excuse the fact that he deceived the public, but he doesn't seem like a bad person at heart.

whoever makes these images I laugh everytime, good work

>Todd can at least deliver games that somewhat meet the expectations he talks about.

Now post the image where Cred Forums saves a kitty.

Todd at least release good games.
Maybe he overhype some features, but it still end up with something.
Randy? Sean?
Nothing

i don't go to Cred Forums often enough. its usually just shitty porn and fur faggot and trap faggot threads and LOL GORE

I just don't see where he's lied as blatantly as Sean or Randy (Regarding Aliens CM) If I'm missing something, feel free to point it out.

he is right you know?
Between Skyrim, Alien colonial Marines, or No meme sky, I'm certainly playing Skyrim.

They could also add some more fucking variety. And make dead moons actually barren, instead of having the mushrooms and grass stuff growing in caves.

People don't give a shit about Falcom games.

Probably randy guy, but it balances out, because hes also probably quite girthy

Arkham Knight never got under 30%, this is a new record i think

>No nose

Randy, by far.
Todd is lazy and a master of hype, to the point where people actually say thank you for less content.
Sean is a delusional guy over his head. From his interviews he always seemed like he wanted to create an experience, not a game.
Randy on the other hand, has made downright illegal actions, lives in a reality no one else understands, is the kind of guy to blame you for his actions.

Change name of company, hide Shaun and they will go on to scam others.

now see, the other problem with the gaming industry is releasing unfinished games filled with empty promises and No Man's Sky is exactly that.

I'd rather have call of duty 240 than a game with no content whatsoever.

Todd is actually pretty solid.

Sean can go fucking kill himself

Never played Alien CM so idk about Randy but it sounded scummy as hell

Fucking chad to the rescue.

Randy.
Sean made a shitty game, but it was (essentially) their own money they burned, and it was a small time indie game that was overhyped.
Todd may lie, but since his games are open to heavy modding and a large modding community, people can mod away his lies.

Impressive to get worse reviews than a game that literally didn't work at launch

He'll be fine in this industry

This is the kind of blunder that follows people. If they changed their names, the internet would make sure no one would forget who they were.

i think a lot of people saw yesterday thread and remembered they did not make a review, and went on to make a very negative one

All those people have a lot of experience and hits under their belt. Sean is a nobody compared to them.

Maybe no mans sky is an elaborate multi layered multi sensory multi media art project and false flag designed by the japanese to take down the behemoth western game industry.

When you use "I" seventeen times in four paragraphs you might want to rethink what you're writing.

...

who's the asian guy?

>sony put their name on this game
kek

>Hey, where did Shaun go?

peter legit has over a half dozen good games made tho

Just buy Starbound instead. It's No Man's Sky that actually delivers.

40-50

...

>This. Considering Sony have already said he mismanaged the release of the game

when / where did sony say that??

Todd doesn't really lie. When he says something is going to be in a game it's going to be in the game. Even if it's only in a barebones state.

Could Early Access have saved No Man's Sky?

you guys overestimate refunds way too much. Console owners did not get refunds, except maybe a few, and the game sold a shitload at sixty dollaridoos

sean is filthy rich, he made fuckyou money and in a few months he will also sell DLC

And no one will buy it but the die hard fans, which are few and far between.

The game certainly feels like it's early access.

Yes, it would have done wonders for their public perception. Since in early access every missing feature can just be claimed to still be in the works.

i hope you are right

Sean Murray did nothing wrong.

A reminder that mostly all posters on Cred Forums were all for No Mans Sky from reveal, until it got shat out.

forbes.com/sites/kevinmurnane/2016/09/17/sony-appears-to-tell-to-no-mans-sky-developer-sean-murray-that-its-all-his-fault/#d967f5b3c44c

Why is this even being brought up? It's LOVED by fans, it doesn't matter that it didn't sell well, the third game is still being localized. It's a niche interest without massive tits and lewd cpus, of course it wasn't as popular.

I'm convinced you're just trying to troll TITS fans.

Really? Funny how jap women have no problem making something cute or that something is cute compare to western women - kids/grandkids and pets aside.

I still like it

Name a single risk that was taken with this game. Something that wasn't proven to work a billion times over in shitty exploration/survival procedural indie games. Like it's been said, it merely combined those elements with the empty promises of Spore.

Sony likely took a big cut, the rest went to pay for development cost. I'm not saying they didn't turn a profit but it's unlikely that they are filthy rich like some seem to imply.

And at least, you could do some cool things with SPORE:
youtube.com/watch?v=EZe39L5Lyqg

A good business man.

Only the retards. If
>Procedurally generated
Didn't immediately set off your internal warning bells, then you're clearly new to video games or just plain dumb.

...

>It is all about "I". "i am happy", "i did it", I, i, iiiiiiiiii.

Pretentious prick.

Meanwhile one of the best devs in the world literally draws himself groveling in gratitude for having appreciated his master piece.

he's in protective custody because of death threats

The game is fucking garbage but on steam there are two ratings, negative and positive. So even if it were a 4/10 or some shit the majority of people who have the game would post that as a negative review, making the score appear to be 1/10.

Todd overstates everything but he seems like he genuinely loves vidya (even if his recent games are meh), he reminds me of the Doritos Pope.

this

its got to the point that whenever i look at some no name game on steam that may look interesting, and i see PROCEDURALLY GENERATED ANYTHING i just ignore THE GAME

What has he been doing lately?

>he changed his twitter to @hellogames from @seanmurray and tweeted just recently.

nope it's been @hellogames all along

and he has not tweeted

>japanese shame culture is a good thing
fuck off weeb

He's too busy counting the millions he earned with his scam to give a shit at this point.

did Cred Forums rile him up when he nearly killed his girlfriend?

he's in prison for 40 years and tried to kill himself twice

>WE ACTUALLY HAD TO CREATE A WHOLE NEW PERIODIC TABLE TO CHANGE THE WAY LIGHT SCATTERS IN THE ATMOSPHERE JUST SO THAT WE COULD MAKE THE SKY GREEN

>really sceptical from the very first "gameplay" reveals
>buzzwords like procedural generation stick out like a sore thumb
>pirate on release
>literally delete it from my HDD after 20 minutes because it's so shit

I have absolutely no pity with the retards that fell for the hype
how can you be so blind?

There is nothing inherently wrong with procedural generation
Just look at XCOM 2
It knew how to do it

>it's consumers' fault the developer lied

fuggov

>You can currently land on asteroids
>All animals have different reactions to each other
>Animals will mate, and each will have their own place on the planets ecosystem

ITT: Pretend that No Mans Sky lived up to all the hyped and everything that was promised or hinted at was in the game

It's different when it's not open world. But XCOM 2 also seems more randomized, as in there's no chance of levels going bat shit and the devs seems to have had an idea how the levels would turn out.

He looks like that annoying faggot kid in 5th grade that had weird parents , didn't have any friends and was constantly lying about shit for attention.

oh he knew it was a piece of shit

oh how he knew

This is true.
There is also the fact that XCOM 2 was a good game (its some what rickety launch aside)

rip councilman

This it? Only have this shitty version.

>one of the best devs

>makes one game ever

eh

I swear that guy under the smilie face looks familiar

Like he's the facebook guy or something

>I feel sick writing this

I wonder why, Sean

Oh I remember.

I will always remember.

this so much
scale doesn't meant that much
everything is fucking instanced

Randy.
>scams other people out of their property and money
>doesn't deliver shit
>but is mad enough to tell everyone that they are wrong and that his games are actually great
>in general a shitty human being

IT BEGINS.

they didn't try anything new at all

the procedural galaxy thing has been done several times

Elite Dangerous and Spore come just to mind, both had huge galaxies that were largely procedural. Spore also had the procedurally generated lifeforms and buildings that look like play-doh, if you like that shit

The ground gameplay is literally Minecraft with worse crafting and stripped of the ability to place blocks/voxels back into the world

I just hoped that game would be good and played it for some time but it just sucks and there's no hope left, they can never salvage it and there aren't enough active players left for them to bother, too

Kojima

Based Yuros did it again.

This. Even if they release an update and make it the best game ever, nobody will go back. It's fucked for good now.

so? what's the point of your post?
that poeple were talking how they are waing for video game to come out and it turned out to be shit?
i didn't notice that was the case when i opened thread up until this post desu

>PURPLE HEART CAR DONATION FORUM

nice b8, but even if kijimbo is a hack he is nowhere near as bad as any of these fucks.

I'm completely clueless about what's going on with this and what could possibly have gone so wrong with such a simple game. Anybody bother to explain?

hype

That's it? Wow. You people will never learn.

they lied about features up until pc release then went silent
also, people who bought it for pc counld't run it in certain cases because devs are idiots and probably didn't test it right and on top of that didn't include vc redistributable

>no-mans-sky.com/2016/08/what-do-you-do-in-no-mans-sky/
look at this
he KNEW more than half of shit in those videos are not going to be in game

>In the press apologizing only draws attention to what you did wrong unless its a deliberate attempt to spin it (for example: "Im very very sorry news outlets I dont know lied to you about no mans sky, which caused you to have unreasonable expectations")
>Rebutting to negative criticism is key to validating it online. theres no answer to the complaints so it can eventually be swept under the rug as "trolling"
>A year or so and a few million sopies sold later, he will still be considered a "successful AAA dev"
>when its time to make a new game for sony the worst that even the most accusatory mainstream sites will do is treat him like a wacky little scamp who got overexcited for his little game no one remembers that clearly.

This has happened before, and will happen again. there are three ways to prevent it, however.

•Stop giving video games money before theyre made. Which means waiting until at least day 1 to put money down (games are patched to completion now. and in this digital world where discs are printed everywhere and dirt cheap and also available online, you dont have to worry about scarcity)
•Stop accepting the best news you heard about a game and assuming that the actual game will be exactly the same. Anyone who isnt a direct shill for these guys is a partial shill. wait until the nobodies come out with their everyday experience with the game before spending money.
•Stop being distracted with the media's desire to cause infighting, elitism, and groupthink, and stick to the sidelines where you can make a decision as described in steps 1 and 2.

>The response this developer got for trying to expand games and our perception of how games are experienced is why this industry is Hollywood 2.0
I'm sorry I didn't learn to like shit, user.

indie devs biting off more than they can chew basically. promised the world and couldnt deliver. sony didnt really help matters by exposing the game so much and hyping it up.

What the fuck happen?

apparently cats are scared as fuck of snakes, and so when they turn around and see some green object (cucumber in this case) crawling up on them it freaks them out

cats do this thing where when they're startled, they escape upwards

cats also have a 'thing' about produce and reptiles and will do that if surprised by either

cats being cats basically

Oh...thanks for the explanation

Will we ever get the original spore? Will we ever get a sort of tokyo jungle but much more realistic?

its the yandere simulator guy but older

People who don't share my views on fashion aren't allowed to make video games.

Remember how Spore was supposed to be a blunder?
Remember how Elite Dangerous was supposed to be empty?
Now, taste something way way worse.

Why didn't you protect his smile?

>Morrowind
>big world hand crafted by 12 people
>hailed as greatest elder scrolls
>NMS
>universe and planets procedurally created by a group of 12 people
>its shit
I wonder if there's any corealtion between effort put and overall quality of the game.
