I made Chalen on April 13, 1999. I was twelve. I am now thirty.

How does it feel to disgrace your birth date this much?

Wished for LoD 2 for a long time but I stopped years ago. Lloyd was cool but they made him too much like an edgy kid. This is the best JRPG ever made. At that time some of my friends talking about FF7/8/9 and I was like meh. The white Dragoon was the best. The healings were OP. The only thing I didn't like about the game was the random encounters. They were happening so often it was crazy. The ghost ship part was amazing.

So you believe literal age-centered boogie men instead of contextualizing each person's motives and why they may act like they do regardless of age. Good to know, and yet with your seasoned experience you're still enabling them by giving all the attention and falling to bait almost daily (if you were above that you could also have the dexterity to ignore them).

You could get charm potions for the random encounters, they were the game's Repel item. I never used Shana/Miranda. In my current run i use Rose and Kongol and in previous ones i also used Heschel and Albert seperately, Rose is always in the fight. I honestly cant pick my favorite moment in the game, everything is great, the hero challenge, the Queen Fury ride. I guess my favorite disk was disk 2, i liked the new region and what was going on, and had a great closure.

How can you even choose a favorite game if your favorites all differ for many reasons including genre and gameplay?

Do you rank them by the amount of enjoyment they gave you back when you played them, or the enjoyment they still give?

What if someday you feel like a game is less favorite than another just because you feel more like playing that genre over others?

Or maybe because you feel more nostalgia so that a game is more "right" in that moment, but it's just drugged perception by said nostalgia?

Or maybe the game is like a drug in the sense that you can't stop playing it ("It's like this game was made for me"), and no matter how hard it tries you can't just put it away?

Do you rank them "objectively", like "if I was to make a game that would grant me the achievement of a life time, and give meaning to my existence, it would me this"? Or the impact was so great that made you think/rethink about your life and be glad that it was made and that you just played it?

Of course it's not really objective because everyone has different interpretations of a life-time achievement, just like everyone has different interpretations of their life that each game might or might not resonate with.

A more objective way would be to analyze the individual care and detail put in the game that would make it stand out from the rest of purely profitable exploits (which might or might not have good redeeming qualities into them), and be a heart-felt product comparable to a work of art that strives for perfection in the medium it chose to represent itself, of course, going by the person's preferred genre.

What if each of your favorite games is "perfect" for a different reason, which one is the more perfect?

A design-focused judgement would also get close to an objective "ranking". Like "I can't literally think of a way to make this game better than it already is, it has outsmarted me. It has become an axiom that can't be denied, mathematical perfection of binary sequences."

I know about the charm potions but I never used them because I don't think they are worth the space. Rose is ALWAYS in my party, she's pretty strong. My party is always Dart, Rose and Lavitz. After Shana get her Dragoon Spirit I use Dart,Rose and Shana/Miranda for the whole game. I don't like Dart much neither. Disc 2 is probably the best, I agree. Disc 1 is pretty close to it. Disc 3 was probably the worst yeah. Grand jewel is really a pain, especially for me because I use Rose and that AoE light skill was a big problem. And the damn heal when he's low. Still I disliked enemies with lethal more. Like that virago or the small thief guy in disc 2. Still a great game and nothing will ever top it, especially for the affection I have towards it. I wanted to use the Divine Dragoon Spirit sooner tho, was really cool.

It would benefit every board greatly if underage actually did just lurk until they were of age.

Grand Jewel bullshitted me hard on my current run, to the point that it was not funny, i still like its deleveling mechanic though, quite a rare one. I equip one therapy ring on Rose as a balance to her low health, as for Kongol, it was a random pick of mine, at first i thought that even though he'd be a tank he'd die easily to magic attacks but to my surprise he can tank almost anything and he does crazy damage, especially if i buff him with Power Up and weaken the enemy with Power Down. The Divine Spirit makes up for the time by being greatly powerfull, if you play your cards right, you can demolish the boss in just a few turns. And yeah, the way inventory worked was not convenient.

TFW that game was fun as fuck back in the day. But it doesn't emulate properly. Like what the fuck, I just want to play it up rezed with a 360 controller.

Got a used computer when I was eight. The guy I got it from gave me the rayman collection on disks. Ubisoft rereleased that game so many times.

I've played through MGS and MGS2. I sort of skipped over MGS3 so I never experienced it in it's prime. I tried to go play it on the HD collection a while back. And while I was enjoying it something made me lose interest part way and I haven't gone back since.

Just one of those things.

I really enjoyed MGS4 and I have never played MGSV. I'm a pretty shit Metal Gear fan tbqh.
