Imagine if you played a game compressed in RAR, and everytime you accessed a file of the game while playing, that file had to get uncompressed.

RWD takes too much efford to finish races and have more cons (bad acceleration, bad top speed, slide like crazy) than pros (faster cornering). I'd rather play AWD and win every race than losing 50% of the time with RWD since i don't have speed or acceleration after trying to beat corner.

I do A with my "Windmill of Friendship" and S1 with my "Midnight Purple" KGC10 pretty much exclusively with the occasional E24 M653 here and there, all are well above B class and RWD.

I played through H1&2 completely alone, H3 ain't much different. You can cruise around with AI cars by honking at them so they follow you places and race with you, so you can pretend to have real friends.

Pretty much and yes. You have to play a bit to get to the point where you can buy your own cars, which is a few races in. Bodykit presets tune the whole car, but you can just pick the widebody from the conversion menu or the individual bodykit parts.

I am about 30 hours in I free roamed a lot and I'd say I'm at 32% overall, I am level 69 and only have ~40 cars

My festival progression is about 60% (2 are fully upgraded, 1 is level 1 and the other one is level 2) and I have 3/5 showdowns (major events)

It depends really what you consider long. There's quite a few races in the game and because it's open world, you can tackle them in whatever order you feel like after you've unlocked them. The thing is, you're the big boss of the Horizon festival in straya, that means you create the races at predefined spots/tracks. You just drive to the race spot and create your own rules for the track witht he blueprint system. The game has a pre defined race for every spot if you don't want to bother with the blueprints. You can drive the races over and over again and still get the rewards from them.

The 100 buck ultimate edition is worth it only if you are 100% sure you're going to get the DLC later on.

It has nothing to do with the game itself, it's the built in DRM that requires a good CPU. While running the game your CPU needs to decrypt the files real time in the background before anything can be fed to the RAM/GPU

The game throws enough credits at you so that you can have a bitching car before you probably even feel like checking online out, and like other user said races are locked to class so it's more about fine tuning cars within each class than just outpowering everyone else.

I've always liked the Forza games but the introduction of Drivatars in Forza 5 are the bane of my existence, especially in the Horizon games.

I'm all for a challenge but blatantly giving the AI physics advantages instead of just bumping up their ability to drive the line is just cheap. I'm so sick of seeing the same cars as I'm driving be faster in the corners and faster in a straight line.

Admittedly it wouldn't be so bad because I'm a hell of a lot better at driving the line, but for some reason even on closed courses the checkpoints are really tiny and 3 or so drivatars end up teaming up to prevent me from hitting the checkpoint by driving mirror to mirror.

It's just so frustrating sometimes. Honestly I wish they'd do away with drivatars and just develop really good AI like what modern day Project Cars has.

As it stands I end up just getting shit on and have to cut half the track, at which point the only challenge is to hit the checkpoints which sometimes becomes really freaking difficult by hyper aggressive drivatars.

That's not counting the fact that mass of car means jack shit. All AI cars are immovable rods and you are a feather on the wind. I can't count the number of times a drivatar sideswipes me and sends me careening into an indestructible part of terrain, or pit maneuvers me for absolutely no fucking reason.

Besides the drivatars though, 10/10 game.

Drivatars take their que from players, so they end up driving like the 12 year old shitters who play the game online (WOOO BUMPER CARS). Because 80% of the people who play Forza can't drive the line, it would be completely trivial to just outpace them, so Turn10/Playground gives them some advantages so that all drivatars are competitive.

The higher the difficulty level, the more advantages they get. Like at highly skilled and above "breaking traction" is just a visual effect for them. Even when doing a burnout in the beginning of a race, they have perfect traction which allows people driving the exact same car as you to tear ahead while you're either climbing the revs or spinning your tires.

Regular AI is programmed to be excellent at the line, and can be programmed to be defensive and aggressive without turning a race into something straight out of Mad Max.

The Crew is free on Uplay but i see its only the base game. Is the DLC needed to have fun?

On Pro you are very limited in what cars you can drive because if you don't pick the best of that class and give it very specific upgrades it becomes quite impossible to come in first.

They certainly get a lot more aggressive which is great when they have infinite fucking mass. They'll use their speed boost to ram into you and you'll lose traction and spin out, or they'll push you out of the way of a checkpoint and ruin the whole race. I didn't get a podium finish on any of the races I ran in that class.

I can't get better because of the AI, its either a push over in Highly Skilled. Or I am eating the shit from 1 or 2 super AI that are impossible to beat in corners and straight aways.

No, it isn't. I liked Horizon 2's map and the final race being one that drove throughout the entirety of it was beautiful, but Horizon 3's map is more varied and packed with content. The difference between each biome is fucking great and they all feel like fun challenges to race in, that's something Horizon 2's map could never achieve.

I play at 3440x1440 with a 980ti with most everything at Ultra and 2xMSAA. 60FPS outside of cities where it drops to 50. The game is super fucky with it's performance scaling.

how the fuck can you drive rwd cars without traction control? If you press a little on the accelerator the car barely moves, a little more and it already spins like crazy, there's no fucking middle ground.

I imagine they would let you turn more precisely, since you can only go so much "left" or "right". With a wheel, you have more in-between, so you can get more precision in it.

I really like the rumble triggers. I assumed it would be a gimmick they would never use on PC anyway.

The vibration pretty much tells you the exact spot to hold the trigger at to maintain a drift. It feels good.

Amazing gameplay, terrible 'drivatards' like others have said.

I only unlocked the second location, level 6, did maybe 10 races, and had a sonic powered car pass me right before the finish line like a rocket 3 times.

All assists are off, playing with 360 pad, 'highly skilled' AI.

Performances wise, I expected worse.
i5 6600k 4.4ghz, gtx 970, 16gb 3000mhz, 1080p gsync screen.
Everything on high, 60fps limit, vsync off. Latest nvidia drivers, no geforce experience. ( havent tested ultra yet, and I read its like every other game out there where ultra and high have very, very little visual difference ), MSAA 4x, streaming disabled : solid 60fps outside of those races where you go between houses, where it drops to 49 for like a second.
Micro stutter happens sometimes, but only once, no biggie for me, people complaining about it never played far cry 3 or 4 at release, those are a real stutter mess.

One of those games where I want to play again after quitting to desktop.

Also, when you're racing offroad, you'll find out that drivatards are immune to water. There's that sprint race across the outback which has a section featuring a river, your buggy will be slowed down and AI drivers will pass you effortlessly.
I had to restart that fucking race at least 30 times beacuse I'm a masochist by playing without rewind

The game looks and runs better for me at 30fps with motion blur on than at 60fps with occasional drops
