I heard starjew valley is bredd gud
should i get it?

This month's free* PSN games are pretty comfy. Journey is rather short but gets recommended in these threads a lot for a reason. Exploring the monastery in Lords of the Fallen is nice as long as you don't run into the spiders. Fuck those niggers.

Terraria before hardmode.

Fallout New Vegas
Arma 2
GTAO

...

what makes a game comfy? Is it like 80% the music and atmosphere?

...

Witcher 3 Blood and wine is comfy. The wineyards and hills have great views

this
it's not cool weather comfy though

I'd like to recommend The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

it has to do with atmosphere, but also gameplay
>level design must lead players through environment, not through HUD
>must have semblance of challenge but never get frustrating
>sense of realism/immersion
there's other things but those are the most important

this is why I can call both Half-life and Oblivion "comfy"

...

Slow pace, chill music, something you can play while drinking hot coffee.

I know Cred Forums hates it but undertale is a comfy game

Banished.

For me:-

>Relaxing sountrack
>open world
>great sense of exploration/wanderlust
>freedom to do as you want, not tied down with a strict quest/storyline that MUST be done
>lots of "meta" gaming, i.e you can do lots of things by your own choice. For example, be a thief who only steals items from very rich people, an assassan who only takes out beggers... your choice. The game must allow enough interactivity to RP like this.
>dynamic/living world, i.e NPCs/creatures that do things/interact
>linked to the above point, not being the center of the world. Things happening around the player, never knowing exactly whats going to happen next.

For me that adds up to a comfy experience I can get sucked into

It's violent, but i think Warband SUPER comfy to play. It's really relaxing, you can play it at your own pace.

And before someone asks, I'm playing the updated warband version of The Last Days (LOTR mod)

I find Hitman 2016 to be pretty comfy.

these oblivion screenshots are 10/10 my lad

...

totally agree. these games have 100% comfiness
>spend all afternoon playing with the window open
>hot soup and coffee
>strategizen
>conqueren

ACOK also comfy too, although it was made by shit devs.

>wood choppen

I can't mod it for shit ;_;

This, Trails in the Sky, and Jazz Jackrabbit

Since The Crew is free, I recently tried out the freeroam and found it very comfy.

...

what mod is this that looks really good

stardew valley is the comfiest game ever

All 3 Megaman Legends games

But especially this one

I don't know man, it's hard to get comfier than Apple Market. That theme.

Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2
Mount and Blade: Warband
Morrowind
Brave Fencer Musashi
Megaman Legends
Dragon's Dogma

All comfy as fuck

>free
where?

club.ubisoft.com/en-US/ubi30

>mfw i spent last winter playing through Musashi and both Dark Cloud games

This user tells no lies - the comfiness of these games is unreal. Especially Musashi.

...

...

What are comfy Vita games guys?

Minecraft or Dragon Quest Builders gonna be any good?

The original paper mario gives me the best comfy

Here is a comfy pepe I have. May I also take your one please?

Fable 1 is the comfiest game out there. Oblivion is a close second.

>All three

I guess you're including the Tron Bonne game, I really should give it a try

Also maybe this can help you for the upcoming winter

>Stalk and Strike
>mountain bike

This I like
gas the kikes

>tfw found a Tron Bonne at a thrift store
>open case
>Loderunner disc is inside it

Thanks for reminding me.

wow

I use to play Runescape around these times but now I can't enjoy it lier i used to.

I always associate Fallout 3 with thanksgiving, as well as Zelda games and FF games.

I have no clue what comfy game to dive in to this season. Maybe I'll try a jRPG. SaGa, Rogue Galaxy and Skies of Arcadia have been on my backlog for awhile now.

First Stronghold game in free build mode

Bloons

seriously user what texture pack?

Looks like default textures friendo

Thanks for reminding me user, I've just been driving around in GTA 5 but that water on the window is max comfy, just gotta turn on a background radio or something

Chernarus is the MVP of Arma 2 and Dayz mod.. I enjoy walking from the beach up way north all the times.

Is the LOTR mod with a single player campaign too and all that?

downloading it now, not played a racing game after underground 2, so this better be good

I see you have the no lights in the interior view bug too. That shit is annoying, and it sometime enables them after a race. like 50/50.

god i wish you could play in story with your multiplayer character
you know?
those random encounters the protagonists have but with your mp char

Rdr.

>free roam multiplayer
>master hunter challenges
>travel across the countryside hunting different animals, unlocking new mounts, characters, and weapons as you level up
>occasionally ride into town for a bar fight
>stab prostitute in alley
>try to kill witnesses
>gunfight with sheriff
>escape back to the comfy countryside
>bounty hunters on your trail
>back to hunting in the wilderness, with the occasional attack by lawmen

What a great fucking game

Also: the soundtrack. Mmm.

comfy

When the comfy is just right

Too bad they never ported it to PC

I've always found the Yakuza series to be comfy.

you have the name for who made those ones?

the train one is maximun comfy

>attempting Hit the Trail achievement
>travel from one end of the map to another in one game day
>set out in a wagon with best friend
>along the way get chased and attacked by posses of other players
>stop at camps to resupply ammo
>lose our wagon horses in a gunfight
>book it on our shitty low level horses, other players still chasing us
>make it to Escalera just as the sun is setting

Spyro 2 is even comfier Tbh
The homeworlds are top comfy tier

Ah, it's that time of year again.

>comfy games thread

these desu

Buy a shitty old ps3, man its worth it
Is psn still available/ free on ps3?

Persona 3 is very comfy
>wandering around at night
>hanging out in the dorm
>going on dates

any kirby game, especially Dreamland 3, Epic Yarn, and Dream Course.

Does anyone else get really comfy when they see anything Christmas related in a game? Like, a Christmas themed mission or mod makes me ultra comfy, say the snow part of Mafia 2, which, perhaps not exactly Christmas themed, gives off the vibe, or the Billy Hatcher track in Sonic Racing Transformed

rimworld

P4 is comfy. P3 is depressing.

...

Playing Anno 1404 right now.
Its pretty good.
Would be 10/10 if there were snow levels.

Winter season goes hand in hand with Icewind dale and The white march.

Things required for maximum comfy:
1. Chilly weather, if you're not at least a bit chilly, you ain't hood, nigga. Come back to me when you have to put a blanket on ya.
2. Rain, snow or at least cloudy.
3. Any game that let's you play at your own pace, MMOs usually fit here pretty well for me.
4. Some kind of hot beverage, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, whatever suits you.
5. Small blinking lights in your room. I just left my christmas blinking lights on the wall and plug them in sometimes.
6. Watching some kind of old cartoons from my childhood.

BONUS POINTS IF:
- it's christmas
- you're alone
- have a pet
- gf is with you

Being a pandaren brewmaster on a rp server is comfy as fuck

...

>Closing inside one of the mountain cabins while everything is covered in snow outside
That game had an incredible comfy stat

Hit it right on a benis nigga

I would add that playing a game you are nostalgic about can add a layer of comfiness

>mfw laying down at night replaying Golden Sun

What game is that?

...

youtube.com/watch?v=5OUP_Z3iZPs

dying light?

if this gets remastered im buying ps4

Soma

Well I'll say don't expect a lot compared, they are giving the game away for free after all.

I've completely ignored the cheesy story and racing events. All I wanted was a massive open-world where I can peacefully drive a car in cockpit view and this ticks that box for me.

this, too bad the game doesn't rly have replay value...

You speak the truth ma man.

It's SOMA's beginning
Incredibly comfy

Yeah it's a real shame
Haven't felt that comfy in forever though

>Dark Cloud

Anyone know how the ps4 port of it is?

how many bonus points if I'm alone with my gf and my pet human?

So many bonus points, you won at life.

the DS has to be the comfiest system ever
>lying in bed at night playing pokemon pearl/chrono trigger/animal crossing/nintendogs, only about 8:00 but still dark enough outside
>not sleepy at all, just wanna keep playing

...

The Talos Principle felt really comfy to me

is gondola comfy?

Outpost.

One of my favorite levels of the Metro games.

Comfy meme pals are best meme pals

>same raindrops every swing
Uninstalled

That looks like terraria with a graphical overhaul.

Yeah, like Starbound

Didn't play starbound when I heard some stuff about the devs and I don't buy games when they're in early access or open beta or shit like that.

Shame game itself pretty average linear FPS.

It's actually kind of stressful if you're a completionist. If you miss one thing on TV, you're boned for years.

The only games that have ever managed to be both comfy and CUHRAZY at the same time.
Cuhromfy, if you will.

Just got Anno 1404 off the GoG sale. Lookin forward to some comfy. Hopefully Banished goes on sale for 5 bucks in the next couple months. Snowy season is best season.

Winter comfy:

Deus Ex
STALKER
WoW Vanilla
Stardew Valley
Life is Strange
Witcher 3 (do it)
Mass effect games
Starcraft 1
Warcraft 3
Broken Sword
Ni No Kuni

People will give me shit for these but idgaf:

Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Gone Home
Soma

Ultimate comfy. My go to.

What are the must-have mods now?

GTA Vice city.

Vanishing of Ethan Carter is comfy for the first time you play but becomes kinda depressing when you realise there's actually nobody in the game to interact with or even meet. Just my opinion though.

I need to know what mods you're running.

Pls.

Arma 3 with stalker mod

not my screenies, but im 90% sure it's Oblivion Reloaded + the recommended sub mods (flora etc).

Look up Oblivion Reloaded, it has links to the smaller ones.

holy shit the atmosphere is just oozing out of that picture, like a cold, dry, winter day

The long dark on a lower difficulty, maximum comfy

does it make you less hungry and thirsty? Feel like the guy needs to eat way too much.

is it fun? didnt realise how much I wanted a large scale stalker MP game until now

>comfy
Stop this.

I've only played dark cloud 2 on ps4 but the port was great

I always found Assassin Creed games to be comfy, especially when you just wait around and watch things.

why?

>is it fun?
yeah, pretty fun and atmospheric
> large scale stalker MP game
For now, there is only one RP server with closed registration and only for ruskies

Pic related. Has a nice ambient soundtrack and quiet, mostly empty wooded areas to explore. It's pretty janky and cheap, but I like it.

i find Diablo 3 (the corrected one of course) to be super comfy.

>Used to replay a lot of the SNES JRPGs and Super Metroid in the winter
>been working full-time for 6 years and now I'm too lazy to sit down and play anything
I've only ever sat down to play the Dark Souls series and Bloodhound he past couple years, I'm getting old.

Cant wait for Battlefield One

Looks comfy as fuck.

Anyone else think Watch Dogs 2 looks comfy? The environments seem really nicely designed and fairly active for an openworld game, and the mechanics look like they lend themselves well to just messing around and taking things slow.

The writing also seems to be somewhat self-aware of how stupid it is now, unlike the first, which is a big plus imo

It's going to be a day one [spoilerpirate, because fuck giving Ubisoft any money,[/spoiler] for me.

my favorites are morrowind, oblivion and civ 4
civ 4 art style is pure comfy

I've always found HL2 to be hella comfy. Well, the first half or so at least where it's just you wandering around desolate environments encountering small pockets of resistance members here and there.

>there is only one RP server with closed registration and only for ruskies
With shitty map and retarded admins. Ded in few months.

Yeah it makes all the survival needs not nearly as harsh if I remember correctly, and wolfs aren't constantly trying to fuck your shit up

Road rash on the ps1/saturn was comfy for life.

Talos Principle is top-comfy, and very beautiful, thought-provoking game.

FF9 is the perfect JRPG if you donĀ“t have any hurries to worry about and just want to enjoy the comfy atmosphere and lighthearted(-ish) adventuring with the merry cast of characters.

...

I've found Elite Dangerous to be a pretty damn comfy game. Especially when just doing some exploring, Trading or Mining.

Its a great game for putting on a playlist, or listening to some podcasts while you play which boosts up the comfy aswell.
