Be me

>be me
>at walmart for a completely unrelated reason
>figure I'll check out the vidya aisle in case some deal catches my eye
>half the aisle dedicated to ps4
>half the aisle dedicated to xbone
>3ds, wii U and even wii games all crammed into 2 small segments
>the fucking skylanders section on the other side of the aisle has more devoted shelf space than nintendo's entire library
When the fuck did it go so wrong? I'm not one to jump on the Nintendoomed bandwagon but it's more obvious than ever that this company is in bad shape. They will not survive as a console maker if the NX flops, and it's not because of consumers. It's because retailers won't waste the shelf space on them.

>at walmart for a completely unrelated reason

well now you've got me curious user

what exactly were you doing at walmart?

Nintendo doesn't have much third party support this gen.

He was probably buying those giant bags of Hot Fries for $2.

>at walmart for a completely unrelated reason
TELL US user!!! I NEED TO KNOW!!

>NSMBWii still 50 fucking dollars
>Mario party 9 still 50 fucking dollars

Not op but I had almost exactly the same experience he did this weekend, I was buying cat litter, cat food, and some food for myself

Well user the wii u is a walking corpse these days, why would they dedicate a whole aisle for it? You can expect the NX to have a whole section for it once it releases, that is if nintendo is smart enough to advertise it to death.

To be fair there isn't much aisle space dedicated to any platform anymore, and walmart still has ps2 games sitting around they won't discount

>take a quick look at their PC games
>find a disc for a free to play mmo

>3/4 of the shelf is Wii games

Jesus, I didn't think the Wii U flopped THAT hard.

This photo is from November 2012.

There aren't any 3DS games in that image, Neither is Splat or Smash 4.

The answer is obvious as to why their segment is smaller, the lack of 3rd Party, but is there a place to see how many games Nintendo has shipped to stores?

>mario kart wii 38$
This has to be and old picture because jesus christ how old is that game

Damn. Your store blows. Ours is oppisite. Whole wii u section with maybe 3 wii games shoved into the bottom

JUST

>current year
>zombiu
>just dance
>nintendoland

Nintendo fucked up

hey now, hold up...

what is this about $2 hot fries?

I'm talking last week, I found a copy of Champions in the big clearance pile for 20 bucks

Chip aisle. Bottom shelf by the combos. Your welcome.

Why use an image that is 4 years old? You can tell by the Just Dance games, a new ones comes out each year,
>2012 Just Dance 4
>2013 Just Dance 2014
>2014 Just Dance 2015
>2015 Just Dance 2016
>2016 Just Dance 2017

If that image was new it would have JD2016 and JD2017 preorder boxes.

I don't know what that is.

>buying videogames at fucking walmart

Walmart sells big ass bags of Andy Caps for $2, which are around the size of three or four bags.

>Games in locked glass case
Can Americans seriously not be trusted? That's kinda sad really.

They put what sells on the shelves user.

It's not the retailer's fault, it's Nintendo for not knowing what the fuck they're doing anymore.

>Disney Infinity
>No Splatoon, Smash, or MK9 tag advertisement
This wasn't recent, OP.

If lack of Call of Duty and Fifa is what does Nintendo in, then so be it.

Sugar we're going down swinging.

Superhero themed mmo made by the team that made City of Heroes after that game was bought out, started out as subscription based and buying retail gave you a free month and some other stuff in game, it went free to play after it was bought out by perfect world like a year after the servers first went up

The Wal-Mart here still had Other M for 40 dollars until a few months ago.
Brawl and MK Wii are still full price.

>combos
>in the chip aisle
What third world walmart do you go to

Is the chips and snack aisle. Literally the junk food aisle. Its the best aisle user. Your walmart probably has a gluten free sextion doesnt it! AAAHHHHAHAHAAHHAAHA FUCKING FAG!

>Judging the entire state of a company based on the shelf space one Wal-Mart has for them

>I'm not one to jump on the Nintendoomed bandwagon
>Then proceeds to jump on the Nintendoomed bandwagon

We have a whole pretzel and pretzel snack aisle, get on our level

Started venturing into stores again after about 5 years of being holed up in my own house. Look at any shelf and japanese games pretty much have next to no presence anywhere outside of gamestop

Because I didn't take a picture but this picture still conveyed the same idea
Next time I go I might take Nintendo vs Skylander comparison shots because it really was pathetic

>Started venturing into stores again after about 5 years of being holed up in my own house
How do you afford to own a house that you don't leave
Your parent's house?

>people want MUH MEGAPIXELS in their phone camera
>pictures come out looking like this shit.
that or you're michael j fox

>This wasn't recent, OP.
Do you honestly think the situation is *better* 4 years later? They weren't even carrying the fucking console anymore.

>They weren't even carrying the fucking console anymore.
This I doubt

doubt you may, but truth it is.

Only Wii U hardware I saw were pro controllers and rebranded wii motes
I guess they could have been out

Prove it
