Why is every streamer bad at videogames? Not just that...

Why is every streamer bad at videogames? Not just that, I begin to wonder sometimes if they might be legitimately mentally retarded

Worst part is, thanks to the "no backseat gaming' thing (thanks to dipshit Reddittors) telling these people how to move on the fucking game and not be stuck is bad now

>watches steamers
>thinks others are retarded

>steamers

as always fpbp

Cool bird.

get off my board crossie

Because they divide attention between game and talking to the auduence and whatever shit they use to record probably adds input lag.

Depends on the game. Plenty of people who played tournaments and such for games chose to stream instead of doing that because it's a better way to make money

This. Having to come up with bullshit to talk about constantly makes them fucking terrible at whatever they're playing.

If you watch anyone who makes quips over cutscenes, you need to kill yourself.

Small streamer here, can confirm the backseat gaming is annoying.

It gets to the point where they're giving me instructions before I even get to where they're talking about, as if spoonfeeding me a walkthough.

I get it, you like your game. But kindly shut up so I can too.

>You must be 18 or older to post on this site.

Can I still say this or are you faggots starting to turn 18 now?

How about you — get this — fucking learn the game you're streaming. Check out an ACTUAL WALKTHROUGH.

100% Blind LPs are disgusting and as retarded as the mouthbreathers who enjoy them.

To be fair, steamers are fucking mesmerizing to watch.

But it's not even that, I'm quite an above average gamer who takes on mechanics and abuses them quickly.

Chatters still feel the need to tell me if I get stuck on something for a heartbeat.

As a viewer in a small chat, I'm careful to only give guesses, and only resort to a walkthrough if the streamer has been wandering around for 5 minutes and nobody has a clue what to do. No game is fun if someone is constantly telling you the answer.

I've been watching streams for longer than you've probably been on this site, faggot. You have to be braindead to enjoy the current popular culture of watching delayed retards fellate their subscribers, though.

steam cleaning is the best

>Not named 'Delinquent bird stirring up trouble.png'

What about speed runners?

Our boi, iateyourpie

for fucks sake this

i hate when some mong like lirik has the new upcoming game and he cant play it for his life

Maybe do something else with your time if streamers affect you so deeply.

Currently watching giga837

>mong
lad it's 7am go to bed

>retards fellate their subscribers

the best definition of today streamers

OH HELLO XXX420POTHEADFUCKERXXX HOW ARE YOU TODAY

the streamer that say every chatter name should be executed

Well Justin.tv fags were a lot a different than streamers today and I thought we could assume I was referring to watchers of the latter. My bad.

>Hey man welcome to the big dick club thank your for the subscription god bless

/thread

Pff, if you weren't around for the livestream days with auto-play, you don't know SHIT about streaming.

but that's league anyway

Because most people, even you, have a tendency to fuck up as a process to learn to be better.

Streamers go through that same experience, but with 100+ people watching and trying to yell at them.

You're not the epitome of skill as you think you are. You just don't have anyone telling you that ya fucked up.

Why do they stream but disallow viewer input by calling it "backseat gaming"?

I guess you wouldn't mind if the roles were swapped when you're genuinely enjoying the game and don't feel you're stuck and/or need assistance.

No I don't mind and if did I don't stream the game.

Too many retarded kids who constantly tell you where to go. Honestly, if you're lost and someone gives you a hint of the next area you should be going to, that's fine. If you're progressing just fine and then someone tells you that there's X ahead and you should use X item, that's fucking retarded and they should be permabanned.

Have you ever played a game with a friend, a game he already knows and he's a huge ass who spoils everything and tells you where to go when you want to just explore around and figure stuff out?

Now imagine doing that with 5000 people in the room

>Why is every streamer bad at videogames?
Why are you watching streamers in the first place? Go play some videogames, boi. They're more fun than watching some idiot playing them.

Indeed, it's a double edged sword.

You want to provide this entertainment for others to partake in, but you also want to retain the personal experience as much as you can.

I tend to make it very obvious I'm thorough in my gameplay. If there's a map that fills out I reference it constantly to indicate that I'm going slow for a reason looking for shit.

I've been fortunate enough to avoid backseat gaming for most of my playthroughs.

Yes. So I just don't pay with that friend watching or turn on my stream. Seriously if you don't want people judging or spoiling you play a game for the first time funny stream it

Livestream was definitely after that shit. Also it fucking sucked.

Depends on the game. If you vaguely care about the story of the latest walking sim, I think watching someone else play it is a far better choice. You get the exact same experience, and you can tune out during the dull parts.

Gaming these days is mostly a joke. Any game that offers no challenge doesn't deserve a playthrough.

I never played OoT/MM as a kid, and still don't plan to, but the speedruns are entertaining.

And since I've never sat through a full 4-5 hour 100% run, every time I tune in I see something new.

It fascinates me.

I have to disagree about that. If you enjoy the story of a game you should play it yourself because you won't have people talking over cutscenes, the same short music clip when someone donates or subscribes, or the guy skipping cutscenes because "it's boring"

I skip cutscenes on my stream for new game+, fuck you

Otherwise I take it slow the first time through.
At that point you're catering to any literal who in your chat who hasn't seen them, you'll never win and it's a waste of time.

Demonstrations of skill or tricks are different. You're not watching for the game, you're watching to see the game broken.

Maybe don't watch the retard with 10k viewers, then?

Honestly, if the story is that involved you might as well play it. Streams are for casual games you don't really give a shit about and can't be bothered playing.

mesmerizing? you must have the brain power of a plant. I can't stand looking at the weird boring economy of it all for more than 5 minutes

Comfy stream, no mic/sellout/cam just gameplay and splits.

Same boat. I usually only tune into streams when I'm eating or something, and there's nothing relevant from YouTube. So I catch maybe fifteen minutes of a speedrun here and there, then move along.

And I never, ever participate in chat. Professional lurker. There are very few channels, from what I've seen, where chat doesn't turn into one big circlejerk for the streamer where people get offended by the smallest thing.

I guess when you get right down to it, I dislike any stream too far up its own ass in regards to streaming "culture".

Most channels I watch cap around 200 users, haven't sold out, and the chat is chill. Actual small community discussing among themselves.

I'm also a pro lurker but I do enjoy the streamer interaction while they're also competent at what they're playing, really ties it all together.

You're missing out

Because it's more about having a place on the internet to hang out, with video games as a shared interest.

Most people don't have to be good at video games to enjoy them. That's what speedrunning and competitive games are to them.

Thanks for the sub!

>people can't have fun on the internet

Where do I think I am.jpeg

Thanks for the support?

Nice memes?

I don't know why you bother.

I honestly don't know how can people watch streams for so long. 30 minutes is the max I can watch a stream before I want to blow my brains out
