Considering Rydia is the only character (and barely at that) while everyone else is just a generic archetype, that's fair.

It's pretty decently written, but I guess you could say the overall story is lacking. It's more like a series of vignettes. And it's more surprising than shocking, but fair enough.

Nah, if we're counting the games with actual characters in them, this is spot on.

Both are amazing games. BD has better music and a more standard story (very similar to FFV). Chapter 8 boss gauntlet was amazing as it forced you to know the jobs in and out to have a chance at winning.
BS has better gameplay and bosses. The final boss and title change are great, and among my favorite JRPG Final Boss fights.

Stories and presentation isnt a very strong pillar in Bravely, but the combat and Job system sure as hell is. Characters are fine and not great or terrible. They do have a lot of charm though.

If you liked BD aside from post chapter 4, you'll like Bravely second

X-2 was way better than X. Sure, the story wasnt as memorable remember Vegnagun, Shuyin or Lenne? No? I don't either and the mystery around Spira is gone after beating X, but the Camp levels are off the charts and the job system and combat is the best in any FF. The voice acting being as bad as it is in delivery, not necessarily the voices themselves in X is a plus in X-2 because it isnt taking itself seriously.

Anyone got the chart with FF's collective mcguffins, plot points, and the likes? It obviously had the Tidus laugh covering a portion.

Lads I played Bravely Default and now I just started Bravely Second, does it resemble the so called "classic" FF? and if so, which ones? I have heard about it but i would like that you confirm it. The only FF I have played are X - XIII and XIII-2

surprisingly I enjoyed more XIII and XIII-2 than X, despite I normally prefer turn-based RPGs but the story of X with the pilgimage and that thing called Sinh was a bit weak

ATB is probably the absolute worst battle system in an RPG other than straight up RNG combat systems like Fate/Extra

Extra's combat is literally rock-papers-scissors. Nothing random about it.

The patterns enemies use are determined by RNG. You can get fucked over by bad luck early game and wipe, especially with Caster, if you don't have high enough matrix knowledge of an enemy type

The boss fights are usually alright but there's still some RNG that can completely fuck you over (I lost to Shiki because she happened to use a skill that seals your skills on an unknown turn and I was using Caster, and the status can't be cured and never wears off as a random example).
