And in core idea, early access is a great idea. Check Longest Dark to see how early access should be made. If all early access was handled in similar fashion, it would be better than pre-2005 demos.

And besides, he's right. The Long Dark is what early access should be. The basic concept of early access - a game in beta stage being handled to players for wide testing and improvements - is also good way to ensure you can deliver in the end.
What's fucked is how the basic concept almost never is used and instead early acces is treated as yet another money syphon to take cash for games that won't even be finished.

Ran the strike over and over and didn't get bored, just liked seeing what kind of shit I could get as loot even if I couldn't use it and the PVP was fun though some shit was strong due to how people didn't have access to their full armor/recovery/speed since level cap was like 8. Full game comes out and it quickly becomes boring because it just repeats the same set up over and over for almost every encounter and they can't balance PVP or exotics to save their lives.

I think part of the reason this happens so often is that the beta has a limited content set, and that's fine because you just want to try it out.

I used to play through the demo (that came with one of the ratchet and clank games) constantly.
It made me buy the Sly collection later down the track and holy shit the entire franchise is just pure garbage. Thank God it was only $30. I haven't been disillusioned by something that quickly since the first Nep game.
