SKL- your chance to hit with attacks, as well as score crits
SPD- if your SPD is high enough, you'll be able to double-attack enemies, also affects your chance to avoid enemy attacks.
LUK-affects accuracy and avoidability, and reduces enemy crit chance.
DEF-affects defense against physical attacks
RES-affects defense against magical attacks
CON- unit's weight. this affects who they can rescue or be rescued by, as well as whether or not they can shove or be shoved by a unit.

That doesn't mean shit. What matters is how easily the units can get levels while contributing. Mia can hit tier 3 without being fed easy kills. Edward can't, except in normal mode and below. How they compare at equal levels is a pointless exercise because they will never be at equal levels.

He's slightly better than Mia in a couple stats but she beats him in others, most notably Res in RD's magic heavy endgame. Mia's affinity is +Mt so once supports are in play, they deal the same damage.

I honestly think it is, you just have to accept that it's going to feel quite a bit different than the rest of the series. It has a few interesting ideas that I think could be expanded. Such as multiple parties on the world map (Didn't one of Kaga's post-Nintendo games include this?) and such.
