what would gaming look like if sega won?

Shit

mite be cool

This. Especially if it was Sega of America that won.

Probably 5 times as many Sonic games as we get now.

t. nintentoddlers

sega needed to win against itself before it tried to take on others

Arcades might have been relevant longer.

More niche games which is good.

More shit games which is bad.

Sega was more willing to try off the wall ideas than Nintendo but they didn't always pan out.

We would also get more arcade garbage but normal people would just ignore it like they do now.

Absolutely awful. Also, the thought of playing anything with a Dreamcast controller is giving me carpal tunnel.

t. 90s Sega kid and Dreamcast owner

>t. 90s Sega kid and Dreamcast owner

prove it.

Sega would have just taken the position of the Xbox in the current marketplace if they weren't already dead after 3 failed consoles before getting it kinda right with the Dreamcast.

Better.

A lot fucking better than mario le kirbi le yoshi toddeler bullcrap

Sega made a wi9de variety of games, Nintendo just has next level marketing, their actual first party content is rubbish rehashed garbage.

I wished Sega won, they have superior games to Nintendo even to this day.

arcade style gameplay would be more popular than story oriented gameplay

Nintendo has about the same number of IPs but twice as many entries in all of them

Holy fuck learn to spell before shitposting

Way more arcade style games ported to consoles.

Even more Sonic games, some of them probably good.

PSO2 ported to USA.

New Panzer, TJ&Earl (in the works now actually) Virtual On games brought to USA, Even more ooh la la, Bayonetta pumps out as many games as DMC, Shenmue 3 wouldn't have waited a decade, Ecco would still be alive, and lightgun games would still be on consoles and enjoyed.

So over all probably better...

But then we'd see shit mario games with only 2 3d installations(and less of them), half as many or no zeldas, no smash brothers (power stone instead), and we'd have a shit ton more titles that were japancentric instead so imagine far more weeb games than nintendo could ever manage.

The better question would be what would happen if Nintendo and Sega learned to co-exist and continue to make consoles. Even better, if they merged back in DC and GC era.

No

So much this, SoJ leaving SoA high and dry on everything that's not Sonic is the cancer killing them

Probably better.

And that's arguably a problem.
When Nintendo innovates, it tends to be great, but an endless wave of mediocre to "just good enough" titles does little more than dilute beloved franchises.
Now, trough Sega's history, they haven't done this very often except for Sonic.

they have a skyscraper full of ips with 1 entry that were awesome, Sega I mean

vectorman becomes their metroid prime. no question
