Dragon's Dogma

>Dragon's Dogma
>Post game
>The skies grow dark and shit gets real
>"The world has gone mad with all manner of beast"
>elite creatures literal only placed in a small area surrounding the capital and the fishing village
>A few changes outside of this exist but since nothing else is changed you had to check the wiki to go and face them because there is no reason to explore again
>Most of everything remains the same.

Quite the let down tbqh

I really hope the DLC is a good as everyone says because the base game is starved of content.

>post-game
>not in everfall 24/7
you're fucking up fampai

niggu are you dumb? there's a huge fucking hole in the middle of gran soren, jump in it
also yes BBI is really good
t. autist

The new wyverns were pretty good though. I still remember fighting that respectful wyvern behind the waterfall.

> go to everfall
> they're all the same fucking room except the Ur-Dragon arena

If you haven't started BBI or Everfall yet, you're about 40% of the way through the game right now.

There's something I love about the world of Dragon's Dogma that I can't quite put my finger on. It ticks all the boxes that a generic medieval fantasy world normally does, but there's something so engrossing and immersive about it.

I did the everfall, It was fun though some of the rooms were redundant. I think one of the rooms was nothing but succubi spammed out the ass.

As cool as the everfall is, it can't last forever because it's not some randomly generated dungeon (even though they could have done that given they're mostly all the same set of rooms).

Overall though, it was fun.

However, this doesn't excuse the fact that they imply the overworld has changed by throwing all sort of crazy new elite versions of enemies at you as soon as you leave the village.

they path the road with grim goblins, succibi, giant undead and hell hounds and you get hyped as fuck.

Then as soon as you head out you realize that nothing else has changed. When I revisited the conquerors area I fought the english speaking drake after almost losing hope since the area had the same enemies, then I wikied the changes and sure enough, jack shit in the overworld is changed really.

It's like they were on the tail end of their budget once they got to post game and just re-did a small area before running out.

I don't understand why they didn't just "upgrade" all prior enemies into their elite forms.

>It's like they were on the tail end of their budget once they got to post game and just re-did a small area before running out.
That's probably not far from the truth. The original concept for the game world was massively more ambitious than what we got in the end.

>not wanting a room full of succubi
what are you, gay? maybe elder ogres are more suitable foes for you

>no dragon's dogma 2 with alchemist class

>he didn't even farm chests
go up to a chest and save
when you don't get what you want, kill yourself

did you even fight the ur-dragon?

That must explain why the map looks like it was meant to be part of a larger one, given at max view it ignores an entire section to the west.

It was just a bizarre choice. The weird thing about the everfall is the rooms are unordered in terms of difficulty. Like you would assume that in order to keep track of what rooms you've completed you'd work your way down.

Doing this though will get you into fights with shit like wyrms and arch hydra before lower rooms that contain no boss fights, like the succubi room.

The very last room at the bottom of the everfall simply contain a Gorchimera, which is something you already fought with other enemies countless rooms prior, which doesn't really come off as a perfect finish.

The Urdragon room also sits in the middle, just randomly.

I encountered him while working my way down the everfall and bailed because I felt he should be saved for last. I'll do it, but that doesn't remove my disappointment with the overworld.

I'd want a pugilist class, beating the game with the Bloody Knuckles rings was awesome but not having skills to use sucks

What am I supposed to do when I'm lvl 50?

I'm halfway through NG+, too weak for BBI and apparently UR dragon

>NG+ at 55

Did you rush through or something?

Should have popped XP boosts and did everfall arena clears until 70 or 80 and then moved onto BBI.

Farm the everfall.

same here

I think I did around 70% of the side quests I found on the wiki, but I didn't wander around fighting drakes and chimeras unless I wanted to

I did skip everfall once I got my 20 stones because that archydra kept fucking me up, I'll go back there

Maybe it's because I wanted to level up for some sorc augments that put me ahead then.

You can farm for discipline wearing the asura armor in the post-game noble's quarter. Just stand on the church wall and wait for your pawns to kill them.

It's a pretty polarizing game, if you stop wanting to play it after 6-8 hours then give it up and don't waste another minute on it. If you do, then you're going to find the pay off. They really screwed the pooch on making this game good before the late game.

The only other augment I want is a warrior one, but I'm focused on magi arch and I guess it doesn't really matter.

I only did it because I felt the jump from end salvation to the fight with gregori was going to be short.
>Gregori says you aren't ready to fight him
>Tells you to run to the dragonforged to help guide you into being prepared.
>He simply yells you some vague bullshit about doing what you want, gives you a jacket and you're off to slay the dragon

It's like they were going to do a hell of a lot more with it. like they say the game was too ambitious for it's budget and 70% of it was cut.

Great beginning, hollowed out and mediocre core, then DLC and post game fix it.

I didn't find anything great about the beginning, pretty generic fantasy RPG, unless you just mean the prologue with the chimera.

I started a new file 3 times, the first 2 times I got to gran soren and a little further, then quit

the 3rd time I played a little longer than that, got hooked hard, played it every single day and ended up loving it so much

I think lots of people who drop it initially have that capability to like it

I loved that, but it was more of the first time you find a cyclops in the wild. It's all very promising.

The beginning also makes you think it's going to have an interesting story since you have this dragon rip your heart out and telling you to come challenge him.

It's only when you first meet the king and the plot has you track down a doomsday cult that has no lore and you're not quite sure why the person legends say is destined to face the dragon has to do a bunch of stupid shit for the king.

The mediocrity is really found within the Salvation/Wyrm hunt part of the game.

Like having a doomsday cult really doesn't work without more worldbuilding, which the game lacks because nobody knows shit about the dragons and the one character who does talks in meaningless riddles that mean nothing.

Dragon's Dogma 2 when?

pls

Never. We got an MMO instead. Same with Sleeping Dogs.

GOTTA ADMIT THE EVERFALL AND BBI WERE PRETTY GREAT THOUGH

the dlc is good but the whole game feels very unfinished in general
the first time wandering around in the dark and a chimera jumps out of the pitch blackness to attack is great
unfortunatley they respawn at set times and locations so by the end of the game you are just going from place to place farming things and it feels like busywork

What do you think is the most OP class anons?

yeah gotta agree, it's painfull but I still love it

it's like having a young disabled daughter

Sorcerer

I have to wonder if levels connected to a hub would suit the games combat mechanics more than the open world aspect.

How do I get into this game?

Pls tell me, I want to play this finally

>create a sexy loli character
>make your pawn the buffest, angriest nigger you can
>pick him up and carry him around

after that it's up to you to make your own path

Grab Dark Arisen. Preferably pc version for unshackled framerate. Don't pick mage as your first class. Make sure to do the quest to look for you're childhood friend in the Witchwood before leaving the Encampment. Bandits are dicks. Suffer through the game's one mandated escort. Hit the Grand Soren Inn and start messing with classes. Learn yourself up on pawn inclinations and don't hire any gaurdians.

Now go exploring and have some fun.

Rate my pawn.

>Playing Sorcerer

>Queen decide to love you
The whole quests were pretty stupid and annoying

Looks young for Ganondorf but I'd still rent him because he's not a slut or wearing that free bonus gear that starts in your bank.

Anyone got armor lvl3 to spare ?

It might be because it can be seen as dark fantasy, at least in the end part.
You're fucked, everyone's fucked, and we're all fighting for iur lives.
It's akin to Berserk on that point (and it took A LOT of things from berserk)

Well it was basically implied that Edmund never got over his deal with Gregori, so he probably didn't really fuck her.

Ranger? (Guy with bug ass bow) with Explosive arrows and damage boost trinkets. It's basically a cheat.

To be fair, it's not the quests themselves that annoyed me? But rather the fact that it was some 14 years old loli that fell in love with me, and the fact that it had no consequences whatsoever.
Just like you can't fight when doing a crime, the guy just runs up to you and poof, you're in jail. I mean fuck, I slaughtered a Duchy's worth of monsters and I can't fight back against some flimsy guards?
Another symptom of the unfinished game I guess.

>>A few changes outside of this exist but since nothing else is changed you had to check the wiki to go and face them because there is no reason to explore again
This was bizarre, Why aren't the other goblins buffed up? Why are so few spawnpoints changed? There's dragons here and there but you'll probably go out of your way to find them anyways.

I thought hellhounds and grimgoblins were among the cleverer palette swaps I'd seen in games but there's not a lot of them.

Makes it pretty compelling to jump in that pit and end the fucking game, though. You can dick around instead of fighting Grigori but you'll get bored. You can choose not to fight him, but that just gives you a special game-over, try again. You can choose not to get 20 wakestones for that one pawn, but again there's not much else to do. You can choose to again pick a coward's way out of the end sequence but that just gives you one of 3~ game over sequences. You can ascend to fucking god hood and mess about but you're gonna be sinking the godsbane into your flesh after 10 minutes tops. It somehow feels like genius game design instead of the sad realities of a cut budget and rushed development, having all this push you to your inevitable fate.

>But is the tapistry you weave truely of your design?

Hot damn they did a good job oicking this VA. That and ye olde english translations are dope.
