You can't tell a story with a fighting game in the same way you can with a musou. You either have to fragment the story and go through each character's bit at once, or you have to switch between characters constantly. Neither is a particularly good option. Just look at Persona 4 Arena/Ultimax. With a musou, switching between characters isn't a big deal since there's not much of a moveset to be learned.
