Why is goldsrc and source engine so comfy?

Why is goldsrc and source engine so comfy?

Man, I really need to fucking download some HL1 mods. I miss it.

Goldsrc is unexplicably comfy.

CS:S is the only comfy Source game though.

comfy low poly brush based mapping

does Cred Forums have a sven co-op server?

I hosted one when 5.0 came out.

I think HL2: Deathmatch and Gmod is pretty comfy.
My favorite map is gm_gmall. Also spent hours playing Gmod Cinema

I miss Warcraft 3 servers.

shit I think I remember that, lagged like hell right?

There were like 5 Cred Forums servers when 5.0 came out

might not have been yours then...
thanks if it was though, I'd love to play with you guys again someday

Looks like a good place to put a swimming pool.

I always liked the skyboxes. Something about them.

I always liked the echo effect in large areas.

My first online computer game was Counter Strike: Condition Zero in middle school

CS_Assualt and all its custom variants was my jam. I played this server that had a landmine mod so as a terrorist you could plant a proximity mine and get all comfy in your defense against the CT.

HOLD IT FUCKER

CS:S and HL2DM >>>> every other source MP game

It's gotta be the movement system, almost every game that's not in the Source engine feels way too stiff to me.

CSCZDS is extremely comfy and the most underrated single player Valve game IMO

This helps definitely

In other games there's this weird disconnected inertia, but in Goldsrc/source games you press W and you go forwards, you press S and go backwards, and you press A and D to go left and right.

There's no input lag. It's lovely.

I miss HL2DM. I was so good at it when it was first released.

Then I stopped playing it and started playing CS:S instead. When I tried HL2DM again months later, they had added a lot of new mechanics that I felt slowed down the gameplay. The new mines meant you had to be careful in tight areas, which kinda killed the fast-paced aspect for me.

Goldsrc seems better to make small indoors maps than open outdoors ones.

That's Quake engine games in general.

Brush Based mapping, led for creativity not bogged down by model use.

Brush based mapping is the sign of any talented mapper.

iirc there is a Cred Forums server up rn

reminded me of this.

perverts.
