The SRPG layout of this game and the first become pretty irrelevant pretty quickly and it just becomes weakness exploiter sim like every other modern SMT game. I'm not sure really what the gridmap even adds to the game, since positioning is pretty worthless

In Devil Survivor 2? I know they added stuff in overclocked but I thought all that was in devil survivor 2 to begin with.

Makoto's isn't as straightforward either since siding with Ronaldo will get her killed regardless although I heard if he's FATE 4 or 5 he won't do it but I don't know if that's legit or not.
Everyone else is easy as fuck. Just do the events as soon as they pop up.

Yeah Overclocked has all of base 2's additions like the compendium and stuff. RB added in more demons and skills.
They also changed up the script in some spots as well, but you still get autistic responses from Bunny in the end so it's all fine for the most part.

Gameplay is much better, more skills, demons, better battles, but the story isn't as good and is now pandering.

Story and atmosphere were better in 1. 1 also had better individual characters like Atsuro and Naoya.
2's gameplay is a lot better though, and the general cast is overall better than 1's cast, although 2's cast is anime trope out the ass.

Too easy to break. You get multi-strike at like level 40 and Dragon + Kishin is absolutely ridiculous.

I personally never get all of them cause it feels like some characters have less opportunities for you to talk to than others. At the end of the 6th day I was at Rank 3 with Makoto/Yamato, and I had plenty of hours left over, but all I could talk to were the other chars

Getting them all to join is pretty rough on a blind playthrough. The easiest thing to do is to ignore everyone on the route you're taking and prioritize all the other faction member's fates. Of course if you're allying with Daichi you also have to focus on Io at least to fate 3 or 4.

Why won't Atlus make a 3DS remake of the actual best DS SMT? Strange Journey deserves it the most.

2 feels a lot more smoother. More demons and skills. Party members are actually pretty useful and not Midori/Keisuke tier. You also have access to more party members as well. Phys is actually viable because of multi-hit and multiple pierce skills. Some QoL stuff.

I felt that Yamato in the Triangulum was not Yamato.
I liked how to save everything you needed to punch the Genetic Code itself a few times.
I hated how much the game sucks Yamato and Miyako's cock/clit. I really didn't liked the characters much.

Depends on how you view tolerable. 2's cast is pretty trope heavy and one note like Airi being the tsundere imouto or Joe being the lazy aloof character. Overall, 2's cast in general is a lot better than 1's cast in general, as a lot of 1's cast felt like one-off characters for the most part, but 1 had a lot more stronger individual characters.

Devil survivor 1's characters were created to fulfill some role in the plot or to represent some sort of ideology, whereas in devil survivor 2 they took some (bland anime trope) characters and then worked them into the plot. So devil survivor 2 is more of a character focused game, it's a lot more likely to sell through character appeal and stuff like that, but the plot is a lot weaker.

DeSu2 has better gameplay but DeSu 1 has better story and I prefer the overall feel and tone.

Plot was literally poor man's Evangelion.
Only things the game did right was the branching paths, like how characters could permanently die, and the character themselves were pretty nice.

Autism Bunny outshines most of the rest of the cast pretty hard. Most of the endings felt kind of meh at best, with only Psyduck's and Scarf-bro's True endings being worth playing it felt. Tried too hard to rip off Evangelion as well instead of riffing on the atmosphere of the first game.
