I have to say that as a first time player of VII it has become my favorite DQ game. I absolutely love it. The class system, characters and story, music, writing are great. If you can't spend money for personal reasons that's cool but if you can I highly recommend it.

Should be. As far as I know, at the point where you have access to Hubble, you also have enough tablets to access two other islands, so you probably have to finish all of them first in order to trigger the cutscene.

Get into a battle, watch the enemies idle animations, then go to use an spell/ability and cycle the cursor between two choices rapidly and watch the animations slow down. This makes it really annoying to have everyone follow orders because it's always tripping over itself with every selection.

Job skills are pretty darn great even the non-offensive ones. You can put Metal Slimes to sleep with Counting Sheep for instance. Gritty Ditty is a free Kabuff. Get a bunch of beginner class skills and set the AI to Fight Wisely or Don't Use MP. They're pretty good at showing off the effectiveness of various skills you'd usually gloss over.

Unless you dump so many seeds in you hit the base stat cap way early then no, not really. But the seeds always only give like 3 or 5 points depending on the stat so eventually that's not really gonna be a very big proportional increase.

Not that user, but how it usually works in DQ games is there's an upper stat limit based on sets of levels. So what happens with seeds is that, if you stack 'em, eventually it catches up with you and has to award lower stat gains on level ups so you don't pass the cap

So it's not negative impact, it's more like using credit to get your stats early. AT least, if DQVII uses a similar system to other games

Speaking of VII I really enjoy how it seems to borrow more from I-IV in terms of character design and art. With V and VI all the males looked like they were on steroids and the females were more tall and slender. With VII I like how goofy they look, Mervin being a good example with how lanky looking he is. The hero of VII is also my favorite, fucking love his design. So simple but unique and filled with character.

The hero of V definitely is the most badass looking hero in my opinion. Purple cape and long hair look cool. I really like the hero of VII for how goofy and not heroic in the slightest. He looks more like a npc or a party member at best. I also like how npcs tell you constantly you look weak. I feel like the hero of VII is kinda weak but he's so committed to helping the world he does it anyway. I really wish we saw his pet iguana in game.

3ds is more convenient though ps1 isn't terrible. The ps1 version is way more complicated in terms of class system and has some bullshit cut from the 3ds version. I have heard the ps1 version is weird in that it is more difficult but also a bit unbalanced in certain sections.
