What you playing?

Have you sent that e-mail to support a X release?

What's next? Builders, waiting on 8?

I want for all of the games to be released, including the one OP posted.

progress has been stagnated for a while, but I bet its to to help support DQ7 in a way they can.

Of course, and what I meant was for Square Enix to release the games officially. For Dragon Quest X, we have a whole lot of things to do. I heard a kind user forwarded the movement to Kotaku, but we need to spread it a whole lot more through other news sites and Social Media to get this done.

We clearly can't do it ourselves.

How much progress has been made on the translation for this game? This and the sequel are probably my most anticipated games from SE in a while and until they're localized I don't think I'll be buying anything from them.

Latest update was about a week ago and "final testing" is at 92% with reportedly everything translated.

How do i beat this dragon in builders? I tried digging under it but its made things worse.

I'm at the desert, and I'm stuck (for the second time). Talked to everyone in the town with the seal of the sands, and all I got was a prophecy that I'd need to go "far away, then come back", which i feel means move on for now, except I don't have any new tablets.

Remember seeing a skull with golden horns anywhere?

Did you already visit the little area near the nihil?

>What you playing?
DQVII like everyone else.

>Have you sent that e-mail to support a X release?
Yes.

>What's next? Builders, waiting on 8?
Trying to find a way to get enough money for a PS4.

Help. I can't figure out the blasted statue puzzle in el ciclo present.

RIGHT.
I totally just got it. Disregard, i suck cocks.

I can't wait.

Dragon Warrior Monsters was one of my first ever games and I want to play it again

I had been playing games a long time and never any dragon quests. Saw it in a magazine and I thought hey this looks like a fun pokemon clone, and boy was I right.

Dragon Quest jumped on the whole 90s monster collecting fad before Pokemon did, with DQ5. The Monsters games were just a spinoff expanding that to be the central part of the game instead of just a way to fill your party because DQ5 gives you almost no human party members until the last third of the game.

Where are the other two or third switch to get rid of the last statue at the top of Pomposas tower? Help an user out here. This is nuts.

Try running around and turning the camera

I found the one behind the monument but that's still only two switches.

One is behind the tombstone. One is in plain view. One is in a walkway you can only see by rotating the camera. The last one appears after you pushed the first three.

you get your entire family at the halfway point

Well shit. Thanks. I was rotating the camera like a madman and didn't notice.

Reminder to not go to the Demon King's castle straight away at the end of the game. Go around the world and shit.

For example, if you go back to the Sunken City, you'll see that Gracos V doesn't really want to support the Demon King anymore. He'll unlock those chests that you can't open when you first met him.

>Satan is pretending to be God

So, Gnosticism then?

>there are rumors that Orgodemir would be revealed to Kiefer in early development

Would be better or not?

They would've had to have changed a lot of the story for that to happen.

Yeah, that's why the page said it was unsubstantiated.

Would have been cool. I would imagine that somewhere along the line kiefer passed on before lala and in her frustration fucked with the ceremony in an attempt to bring him back and thats why the roamers didn't really fulfill their purpose.

Please help out by following the instructions below, It only takes a minute or two.
-------------------------------------------------------
Greetings DQ fans!
I've been doing some research with Square Enix Support in an effort to get Dragon Quest X localized. I've had some pretty good success so far. Square Enix communicated to me that if they see enough support tickets requesting Dragon Quest X, they will consider the localization.

They have been very helpful and even offered to put me in contact with their developers, so this campaign has some realistic weight to it.

What I will need you to do is go to the Square Enix support page for any Dragon Quest game (for example, here's the one for Dragon Quest IX https:**t.co*7wtaGp04gN ) ( replace * with / ) and create a support ticket.

Here are the steps: 1. For Contact category choose Products & Services and for Contact Sub-Category choose Product Specifications.

2. Enter a subject line under contact details, and keep it to under 40 characters. For example: "DQX".

3. Hit Next. On the next page, hit Next again. Now choose Proceed to Email Support.

4. Enter in your contact information. Enter your email address twice. If you plan on creating multiple support tickets, please use a different email address per support ticket.

5. In 4000 characters or less, write a polite message to support asking for Dragon Quest X's localization. Once you submit your ticket draft you can preview it or edit it. Once you are satisfied, click Submit.

Please keep the message focused on Dragon Quest X for this campaign. If this experiment works then we can try focusing on other DQ games in the future. We can really do this! Thank you for your support.

>most successful Demon King

Yeah, pretty much.

>based on the Old Testament
>Orgodemir is viewed by fans as a Lucifer-like figure.

And the game just had to come out with SMT Final.

when i beat the arena in alltrades after getting my powers back should i go back and help the rebellion or does it not matter, i dont want to level more than i have to before i can slime grind vocations

Doesn't matter.

Grinded out a few hours while watching Suits last night

Main character is Hero
Maribel is a Sage
Ruff is a Monster Masher
Mervyn on his way to sage as well

I find it hysterical how big banga and gigaslash destroy bosses in 3-4 turns now, as Im already approaching late game.

That Orgodemir=Kiefer theory is actually kinda popular over there. Lots of blog articles about it.

I'm waiting on Heroes 2

nicovideo.jp/watch/sm20297301

>you can actually make Jacqueline cry if you refuse her request over and over again

You won't get gag scenes like this if you say yes to everything.

I just finished Paladin on Sir Mervyn. What's the next recommended class for him? I was thinking Armamentalist, but I can't be sure.

No other classes on him but paladin and the prereqs.

>there's a bonus slab about Jacqueline's childhood memories

When are we getting this?

Go for Gladiator so you can get Champion

Soon™

Have they released any sales numbers for VII?
Can we hope for more localizations?

Interesting. In the novel adaptation, Ruff cannot change jobs like the other party members since he's actually a wolf. So he gets all the monster classes instead.

Well we're at least getting 8 and builders so there's some hope for a lot of stuff now.

Game hasn't even been out a month, but I bet this week we'll see some sales reports from usual channels.

Putting that on the Hero already.

First time playing VII, any tips?

Make Ruff your healer since he's the fastest.

Master Gladiator and Champion on Merv anyways. Mastering any three classes beyond the basic set unlocks Hero.

Don't use seeds on kiefer

If you want a challenge, don't worry about anything. Play it like any other rpg. If you want to trivialize the last 40-60 hours, keep your levels low before you class change so you can abuse level caps and grind out jobs.

Use the "Show no Mercy" tactic when grinding, things go by easier.

Classes don't come in until around 20 hours in

Check the dungeon first before buying all the weapons in town.

Don't put any seeds on Kiefer.

Hero is generally a physical fighter, Maribel is a mage, Ruff is more agility oriented, Sir Mervyn is great at both magic and physical combat, Aishe is more or less the same. Give them classes that accommodate these traits.

Start making tablets when you can,you can grind these with no level cap on your classes.

Don't kill Wiggles(You'll know what this means when you get to that point)

Thanks guys

Doesn't really matter. The monsters just respawn if you exit the screen.

Is there a comprehensive class guide I can't really find anything detailed

What are you looking to get out of it?

The npc near the pamela look alike tells you the human class trees in detail.

I wanna know what vocations to grind

Every single one of them

What takes priority

Sort of. I do not see the need to grind for armamentalist if you're only trying to beat the game as easy and fast as possible.

...

Reminder that you need to complete Haven to get one of the fragment pieces.

Haven isn't complete till you can get to the top of the guest house.

You only need 14 residents to get the fragment. Haven's final form is like 25-26.

I'd say Martial Artist and Warrior for Ruff and Hero, though you can use Ruff agility to make a good and fast Priest.

With Mariel go with Mage or Priest first.

How do I get the download bar and when do I get a 4th party member do I just level hero ruff and Maribel until I hit 20?

Where are the two fragments in the Coral Cave? I'm now in it and I don't find any monsters to talk to.

What's the best place to start? VII on my 3ds?

>Pokemon clone

It expands on Dragon Quest V which did monster collecting before Pokemon, and DQ V just takes from Megami Tensei which was doing monster/demon collecting in the late 80s.

You should definitely make the Hero a Priest at some point so you don't have to pay resurrection costs if you happen to get wiped at some point

You have to be at the endgame. If you are, there is a monster in the present that wants to be a human. Talk to him first. Zoom to the haven . sail just north to a whirlpool and talk to king scoober. Then go back and talk to the monster. The other one is in the past and near the end of the coral cave the two ghosts will just give it to you

>there is a monster in the present that wants to be a human

In which room? The first coral cave or the second one (in order if you enter it from Pool of Piety)?

Okay sperg lord I'm talking about nearly 15 years ago and initial impressions before playing any DQ. Keep that autsim in check.

Should be in the first, at a dead end of the first or second rooms.

Haha. Insulting people when they provide extra info will never fall out of use.

Who here /killedwiggler/?

I'm at endgame already. Any tips on how to beat the strenght and style contests?

I did and then reset because I felt like an asshole.

Did you make sure greta conceded to being an old ugly bitch yet?

Does the first have a hidden staircase or something? I see the two staircase hidden away from the rest of the cave and I can never get there.

The first one only has two rooms, and I've checked and no monsters to talk to.

Should be in end game already since all I had to do is to kill the final boss.

When you say you are at the end game, did you revive the almighty?

How did you do it?

Already way past that. Already revived the spirits.

I first need to reach second place, I'm trying with Mariel with a Luminary vocation, but I can't even breach top 10.
Same with strenght, trying Hero with Champion and I can't break the top 10

Bought VII, love it. Cant afford Builders, even though I want it so bad. looking forward to VIII and also sent in my shit for X. Played some of the free trial last night. wish I could read moon. The music is so comfy it hurt

Then worry about it later. Style is 90% gear and you should be able to beat the Strength/Wisdom contests with basic accessories later.

Speaking of which I should get around to bothering to clear the Wisdom contest, even if the reward is kinda pointless at this point.

Then he really should be there. He looks like gracos.

Nevermind. Found the fish. He's on the second one.

my mistake bud.

How about the other fragment? Where can you get it in the cave?

It's in the coral cave of the past. The ghost kid after clearing that bit.

Its in the past coral cave, way near the end near the arches. You can access the past one by zooming to the divine shrine and looking at that fragment pillar in the north house.

Thanks, sexidaniboy

I just made Ruff into a hero, the first of my party.

youtube.com/watch?v=ITwa5HFwGqU

>start playing DQ VII
>for some reason the music is making me feel sad or down
It's Final Fantasy 8 Balamb Garden all over again

>unlocked upgraded Haven casino
>meteorite bracers and metal king armours
One more round of gambling and I'll finally be free from these hellhole casinos

Don't forget 500k for the skimpy nightie

Well, I just cleared the strenght contest. It doesn't really take into account any gear, so I just pumped a few STR seeds on the hero.

About style, I'm right at 3rd place with Aishe as a Luminary, but I don't have anything else to bump her style, so I'll go farm it.

i really dig how vocations in 7 actually give useful skills now. but im really questioning how hard they wanted us to break the game by handing out shit like thin air before disc 2

Silk Bustier should be solid
Or grind the Buccanham Casino flip game until you get an Angel Leotard and fucking destroy the rankings

I just started the game and I'm more bothered by the graphics then I thought.
It completely changed the style of the original game and for me it feels empty and soulless especially when walking on the map.

>grind base vocations just to have them all done with
>get maribel through luminary fairly quickly just by going through the story
>Pyre o' Fire damage is almost 200 on most things

I am a god

I think the problem was more making so many abilities cost only 0-2MP

MP costs are really fucking low in general, even Big Banga only costs like 20.

Aishe has Shimmering Dress, which has more style. I'll probably do what you said and grind some tokens on the casino.

yeah, im steadily finding less and less use for magic considering at providence, maribel's frizzle does ~80 damage on a single target

and then ruff and auster can throw thin airs and scorch around for triple digit damage at 0 mana

You can also get Glass Slippers from the flip game, +30 Style right there.

>build large walls to protect the city
>want to remove those rocks in the middle to tidy thing up
>"use the teleport so you can build the hammer to destroy rocks!"
>"this is the end of the demo!"

FUCK!

Happy hats are at the Buccanham Casino flip game, right? I need one for Maribel

It evens out a bit once you get Maribel to Druid and she has all the top end spells at a discount.

It gets even better at the post game, but by then it doesn't matter. There's a hat that drastically reduces mp costs as well as one that lets you cast twice for free.

I've already got a Mad Cap, but what the hell is that second hat you're talking about?

I suck at that game, and the only time I won I got trash. I'll give it another try, but

mind sharing some? i can't find any.

Just write down the cards on a spreadsheet or something dude

It's called duplis I think. Found in second bonus dungeon.

>Not making 100 different emails through Yandex and spamming the shit out of SE for a DQX localization.

Come on men, do your part

Oh okay. I haven't even beaten the first bonus boss yet, been grinding up Ruff mainly. And getting a few extra things on Maribel now that she has Druid done.

Meh I'll just stick with the Mad Cap for Maribel, probably overall better than the Happy Hat. I'll switch her to Metal King for boss fights.

Er, I mean Mythril Helm. Since she can't equip Metal King Helms sadly.

>Cant afford Builders
what the fuck?

I remember them just fine, but I always hit the fucking shuffle card and everything goes down the drain.

With a bit of luck even the shuffle doesn't matter too much. I just won 5 in a row and I hit the shuffle three of those times.

If you don't turn over the shuffle card in the first six you're probably not going to win that board

I'm just like that, I won my second game ever.

Bit of luck I guess

one account and email daily. if we do get it they will probably throw in the ps4 and nx version.

So I just beat Cumulus Vex. Was there some scene I need to trigger before leaving Aeolus Vale to avoid some glitch or something? I recall reading about that.

$50 with prime and I really want World of FF too. I'm currently a wageslave bastard so I have little money to go around. I'll pick it up as soon as I can, just can't do it right now.

But Happy Hat is free mp though. Nothing is better for random encounters since you can go as wild as you want

Divine Bustier get. Talk about luck.

Yeah but I just did the flip game 10 times and didn't see it. I recall seeing it once or twice before but I don't really care enough to get it right now.

>DQ7 paladin isn't the FFTA turban type

I mean considering dragon quest i figured that'd be a thing

anybody got a monster vocations chart? Also does it take several days for scouted monsters to appear in the meadows? I just scouted a mimic and it's nowhere to be seen.

You need enclosure plans to see the monsters in the monster meadows. If you talk to the attendant they will be availible to send for tablets though.

There are 14 basic monster jobs and you can use the psx version guide if you know the name changes. I just got done with that so if you want to know a name change ask.

...

remember, there is an odd typo for djin genie when changing classes. It's called vigilaturn for whatever reason.

I know that - should have been more specific... the list you can create dungeons from only draws from the monsters you have encosures for? The Mimic I got still isn't there...

You have to have completed nottagen for there to be the attendant im talking about. When you speak to him it unlocks that monster to go find tablets in accordance with the old man in the next room.

well yeah I did that, guess I have to find another mimic or something.

also remember, you have to speak to him each time you recruit one or several monsters. The dialog is about the same, but it does open it up.

what's the best dungeon type? I got a castle one with floors from Alltrades Abbey and it has a fuckload of vases and barrels, one run through gets you over 5000 gold

will check that, didn't think there was a difference

There's one that that starts outside the rainbow mines where in the house has like 20 barrels. I like that one.

so talking to the guy does make them show up, which is weird since his audio doesn't change

Kafrizzle is close to 200 damage. That spell is crazy good against most bosses.

I wasn't gonna buy Builders, but after reading this I've reconsidered: pastebin.com/tPx01frX (the link is within the pastebin, Cred Forums was retarded and thought it was spam)

(And no, this isn't my blog)

Just finished wetlock. That was awesome and it made me more salty about Keifer though. Florin who didint get the boring girl is out and about helping people and being a generally badass old man and Keifer is off being a hippy who accomplishes nothing.

Game does a lot of bait and switch. Loved how it implied the guy was fucking people over before you see how it plays out.

>Happy Hat has better defense than a Mythril Helm
Well fucking shit, should've gotten one sooner.

having a mimic as the primary dungeon monster was a mistake

all my mp goes to zing now and half the party is always asleep

strawpoll.me/11338384
strawpoll.me/11338384
strawpoll.me/11338384
.

just got the old dude. grinded mc up to mastery in hero and champion. hero on the girl and working on hero and champ on ruff and old dude.

how do i get monster hearts? recruited some monsters already to the monster meadows or whateer

When was this? Is this new game+?

>get to sulkk
>remember darkdrago was a bitch on ps1
>forgot i left ruff on fight wisely
>Ruff used Envenomated Breath
>what the fuck are you doing ru-
>Sulkk was envenomated!
>225 fucking damage a turn

i will never doubt Fight Wisely ever again

Treasure chests, flip games, and random drops from monsters
No you can't steal them with Thief/Pirate/Klepto Klobber

Is this on the FreeShop?

what monster hearts can be obtained through flip games?

Off the top of my head, Jawtoise, Prism Peacock, Malevolantern, and Delusionist from various flip games. Pretty sure there's more than that.

>Hero is Gladiator
>Ruff is a pirate
>Sap Sulkk twice
>Have Ruff cast Oomph on Hero
>Hero uses Dragon Slash
>800 damage

More like SUCC

Yeah

I can't even afford a 3ds. no job and living in poverty due to chronic major depression.

consider yourself lucky, user.

youtube.com/watch?v=PMWfv0941mo
Is this the comfiest music ever?

Just lost Maribel. How long will it take to get her back?

>Hero doesn't keep abilities from intermediate jobs

quite a while.

fug

Can I get to the worlds tallest tower to get mervyn the second I get the carpet when I have buglio with me? If so where is it or so I need to progress further.

In the same island the Maximo castle at.

Ah fug. I just passed that place a few times but didn't notice because you can't land everywhere.

bought dq7 today. was it worth it? is it anything like dq9 (the only other dragon quest i've played) and will i have fun

Is the hero heart the almighty gives you just for the hero class you get from mastering three advanced human classes or is it something different?

None of the advanced jobs do

What's the difference between Great Leveller and Greater Leveller?

One wipes all your buffs and enemies, the other just wipes enemies.

Wait, so one is a shittier Disruptive Wave that costs 15 MP, and the other is Disruptive Wave with a 17 MP cost?

yup.

Pretty much
But on the plus side your Hero has access to it regardless of his class.

O'Lord I pray for our brothers who cannot purchase the latest Dragon Quest games.
May the Almighty grant them good wages.
Amen.

>was it worth it?
Yes.
>will i have fun
Yes.

I sent a support email for DQX. Hope they don't just filter all of these.

They have a canned response specifically for people asking about DQX, so I guess that means they've been at least annoyed enough to bother writing that.

Supposedly they're saving the messages and passing them up the chain to SE of Japan. And the head producer of Dragon Quest has said if enough people speak up, they'll localize the game.

The big book of beast says desilusionist can't drop its heart

and it's right. Platinum king jewels dont drop hearts either. So you gotta grind em out.

Sometimes monster hearts don't drop from the monster that shares the exact name. You get Golem Hearts from a Golem variety found in the bonus dungeon.

And some monsters you can only get their hearts from other shit like the flip game.

then it comes from the flip game, another monster, a chest or just mastering lips and well wisher

How do I get the shard in the Grand Conjorium?

Uff that's rough.
Anyone knows how to get this one specifically? I've been playing flip game and I haven't seen it appear once

Im in the last dungeon in 7 and there is some big blob thing blocking a door. Ive tried "using" all the amulets but nothing. Any tips?

Heh, thanks user, that actually means a lot.

Delusionist? I got one from the Haven flip game.

Or just master Lips and Well Wisher, those both drop hearts normally

theres also a lips heart in present day providence
the cave leading up to the church has it in a chest on the first level

When DQX is finally localized and has a monthly fee I know you will be in a position to play. Godspeed, user.

I can't decide whether or not to get VII

What the fuck should I make him? Monster masher isn't really cutting it. I was thinking paldin possibly as it gives him nice damage and bulk and the the healing spells with his speed could help in a pinch.

I hear VII is a huge game and isn't amazing until a good couple hours in. Is it still good for someone who's never played any other dragon quest games?

Buy it. Do you want Dragon Quest to abandon us?

You should get it.

Go for Hero or start grinding up monster classes.

my last handheld was the GBA, so fingers crossed.

If you want a good, oldschool, longass JRPG then sure. If you don't wanna jump in balls deep first then go play V or VIII first.

You could buy a used 2DS. The 3D isn't even that great; I keep it on 2D mode.

It's a really long game and the story and gameplay aren't exactly revolutionary but if you like old school jrpgs then you'll enjoy it.

What's the definitive version of V?

I went Monster Masher>Pirate>Paladin>Hero

Yeah i play a lot of jprgs but I've always forgotten about dragon quest and never got into it, even though I want to.

Who knows, I dropped that useless nigger as soon as I could

DS

>Dropping the best bro in the game
Here's your You. We both know your post isn't true.

At the moment, I can barely afford to pay the bills, bloody council tax etc and eat, but at least I've been able to keep my 2 cats even though even cheap catfood kills a lot of benefit money. Its amazing how comforting cats can be, even when seemingly every month life gets even worse.

Its nice to hear anons enjoying dq7, I remember being so exited I was seeing the run up to its original launch in famicom tsushin and its coverage in mean machines etc...

I got some cash back from my taxes, thinking of picking up a vita. But I want a cracked one. I'll still buy builders if I do get a vita.

Where do I send the email to?

Terry's Wonderland is getting translated? This isn't some cruel joke? I thought we were just getting 7 and 8.

>Ruff
>useless
I can't even imagine how you see him as useless.

So what new dlc comes out? With past dlc return?

Fan translation.

Terry's wonderland is very close to completion, but I'd rather not spread stuff about till it's finished so SE can't catch on

>dropping the fastest party member who's been with you since near the beginning

I created a tablet with 3 monsters capable of dropping hearts (well wisher, rashaverak and hellvine).

I completes the grind of the 4 characters vocations from scratch and not a single heart dropped.
Didn't the tablets rise the likelihood of the drop?

If my 3ds has menuhax will I be able to play it?

gotcha. I hope it stays under the radar and gets finished.

The fact that Square passed on this baffles me.

DWM sold really fucking well for Enix in the US, and this remake more than justifies another purchase. God damn it.

nukesaq88.github.io/dq7_luckey_panel/download.html

I would order the Loto Trilogy and Zenith Trilogy if they were available on VC.

How's DQMJ2? Its neccesary to learn jap and play the PRO version only?

I'm pretty sure there's a patch that just dumps the official translation into Pro.

The fact that Square didn't just pull a Capcom and localize the second release is so weird, because it actively discouraged customers from buying the game.

I just got kicked out of Hubble Castle for not being the envoy, where do I go now? Where do I deliver the former Queen's letter?

Magic institute.

Okay I got Mervyn and I took him to bravoure but accidently said Yes to help Sir Lysalot. Now nothing is happening. Is it supposed to be that way? I can't reload because I zoomed straight there when I left the tower so I would have to start over.

South

Did you not read a goddamn word the Queen told you? Go to the magic institute you fucking moron.

How many hours in did you get him? Only just changed my classes, about 21 hours in. Doubt I'll grind classes as well

Not him, but I sent it to the IV support page, because I didn't trust the short url on Cred Forums and thought it was just spam.

It did say you could send it to any DQ game though

Just beat cumulus vex in one try with only one multihealer. Fight wisely2gud.

45 hours but it shouldn't take you as long because I unlocked classes at about 30 hours because I spent a ton of time in the casino before tackling the alltrades abbey part. You should get him at about 30 or 35 if you don't slow down too much.

>Blimey! That's the royal seal! Look, you may have friends in high places, but I still can't let you in this way. You Could always head back out and try your luck at the other entrance...

>A letter from the Queen Mother, eh? Very impressive. But it's not going to be enough to get you through here. Sorry.

this really helped

Not him but I didn't get Mervyn until I was about 35 hours in with the rest of my party at about level 27-29.

Nigga you're fucking retarded. Look at the map of the island.

Neat, thanks. Do you know around when I get the warrior dancer?

Anyone?

Are the priest from Vogograd and the one from Providence the same person? The only thing that makes me doubt it is that he didn't have the ruski speech in Providence.

Maybe about 5 or so hours after Mervyn.

3 islands after you get Mervyn I think.

Fuck Scorch is OP. Makes all random encounters trivial. How is Thin Air? I am making Mervyn a Paladin.

Not as OP as Scorch but still really good.

Less damage than scorch but still strong nonetheless.

I'm pretty sure he was

On that note does anyone know what happened to Dill and Cayenne after they were driven out of town?

You people are on point today. Good to have some goals to go after.

Haven't been able to find anything about it. Sometimes you can return to regions in the past and get new events (if you return to Hubble, Hybris will have gotten out of bed and there's a scene with him and the priest) so there might be something like that for those two. I'll probably go on a tour of the past in the postgame.

I hope you haven't been grinding classes on the Hero, Ruff and Maribel otherwise Mervyn and Aishe joining will be really underwhelming.

>master a class while doing the cave to revive the almighty
>try to leave and change
>You can't leave until you've revived the Almighty!
>all the plot shit happens
>can't go to alltrades
this is fucking retarded. when can i change my class again?

After Emberdale

alright cool, was worried i'd have to wait until i did all 4 places

I'll have to remember to check the towns when I go back to recruit monsters

I hope they got a happy ending, Cayenne was a top waifu and Dill seemed pretty chill by the end

>I hope they got a happy ending

Why would i patch it if i dont know japanese? The extra monsters from the pro version would be all in jap, and items and attaks and everything new.

Nah, never intended or planned to do so until I got all my members

I'm having a good time autistically grinding out all of my classes immediately after Alltrades

I like the feeling of all the progress I'm making, watching all the new spells and abilities pile up so I can experiment with them later

This is comfy

as long as you don't grind for intermediate and advanced classes right away and then complain about how the game is too easy, good for you

I'm grinding out every class on every character before I continue

I promise I won't complain, I do this for almost every game that lets me

DON'T!
The game is a cakewalk if you do this. Just grind out some basic classes and then play normally.

fuck me
I'm going through the cave to get the starshard, how do I get past the waterfall?

too late

I'm already grinding out Champion on my hero

>mfw Vogograd in the present

So what happens if you kill Wiggles?

DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE

I didn't. Was just wondering what would happen if you did.

You motherfucker

DON'T

Don't hurt Whacka! er, I mean, Wiggles!

...

You can kill Wiggles?

Does he drop anything good? Did I miss out on some top gear?

STOP

GET. THAT THOUGHT. OUT OF YOUR HEAD. NOW!

Talk to the people in the house right next to it.

He drops the destruction of Nottagen. Not very useful.

How am I suppose to open that door? Or it there something I'm missing to do?

No one has ever done it to find out.
I think the town gets fucked up and remains in ruins though.

Enter via rock

uh oh, what is this? I said yes to Sir Lysalot too. Is that a bad thing?

Got to fly into the tower

I tried telling him to fuck off, but you have to say yes. I'm just about to head to the final island of the shrine and he's still just chilling there. I hope he gets his comeuppance sooner or later.

You can get skimpy nightie from (SPOILER) Postgame dungeon 1

Ouch!

Nah its nothing. Its one of those classic DQ things where you usually can't select no.

But thou must!

Is Gracos V hard? I am about to fight him and don't want to get wiped because I forgot to save. My current party is:
Hero Gladiator mastered
Maribel level 7 sage
Ruff mastered monster masher
Mervyn Priest level 3

No other classes or monster hearts mastered.

Not really
Just be warned he uses spells instead of breath attacks mainly
And he possibly can't be dazzled like the original Gracos

That can't be all there is to present Vogograd. Fuck that village.

You don't lose any progress if you get wiped, just half your money. And getting booted back to the last church you saved at.

Much easier than Gracos. Still you can make a quicksave before you fight him, they're persistent in this game (you can reload them as many times as you want).

Beat pretty easily but scared me for just a bit at the end of the fight where he used a magic attack and breath consecutively. Luckily I landed the final blow right after.

>Nottagen
>Not again
Heh

>all main line DQ heroes are brunettes
>all spin off heroes are blonde
any reason for this?

When do you gain access to the 6 chests at the desert palace? Also when will the queen's bodyguards let me through to the back.

>Brunette
Nigga you need to get your fucking eyes checked. IV and VI are green and blue, and the spinoffs have a ton of colors.

the only thing that changes is you cant access nottagen in the present
theres nothing there anyway so its not like it matters

monster meadows stays the same

i did it because i figured it was a "but thou must" scenario like the rest of the fucking game

Wait, that doesn't sound right.
DQ Heroes' hero and DQ Swords hero isn't blonde; and I think the hero from III has black hair.

>i did it
How does it feel to be a literally morally evil murdering piece of shit?

Joker 1's Hero has white hair, Joker 2's hero has black hair, and Joker 1 is white again.

Oh, and Terry's hair is white.

feels the exact same way it does when i find out i cant kill my friends in an SMT game
pretty bad

>emulate Dragon Warrior Monsters
>enjoying it more than DQVII 3ds

Im wrong.

What's the better final class Hero or Champion?

How does Klepto clobber even work?

How do you avoid the gamebreaking glitch that causes maribel to disappear out of nowhere towards the end of the game?

Neat. Any other noteworthy things to find?

Champion can ohko metal slimes with ultimate blade

Champion gets the strongest attack in the game (besides Knuckle Sandwich with an absurd Strength stat)
Hero gets Omniheal, Scorch, and a ton of utility spells.

Low ass chance to steal, you'll get the item after the fight
If you really want to steal items just make someone a Thief or a Pirate for a while, it's more reliable

After getting the Great Leveler, don't go back to the past and talk to The Wizz with Maribel in your party. If you do it with Aishe you're fine.

Hero is an all rounder while Champion is a better damage dealer, I think.
Try and have at least one of each.

I have the hero as that genie which steals at the moment and using klepto clobber but still no Hela's hammer from whaleverns

I just got Sir Mervyn, and I don't have nearly the coin or the patience to grind his ass up to par with the rest of my team. What's a good way to at least earn money quickly?

Lucky Panel in Casinos

Cheese the matching cards game at the casino and sell all the equips you get.

Buy Prayer Rings at the casino to sell or win the flip game a bunch and sell shit

VIII. I played up until the Dhoulmagus boss fight where he turns into the demon-bird thing as a kid, but I never got past that part.

I started a new file a week ago after over a decade, and I don't remember most of this shit. I played up until I got to the abbey for the first time, but I took a few days off playing because I had some things to do that needed to be done during that time period.

Now I'm thinking of starting it up again. It's a lot easier than I remember as a kid.

Erdrick's Descendant (1) has blonde hair.
Prince of Middenhall (2) has white hair.

Can you start making your own tablets after nottagen?

What skills are you dumping your points into?

Is there a filter over the PS2 screenshots?

Yes

Wait, there's a translated DQM cia out right now?

Why don't you just finish the game instead of restarting over and over?

>Now I'm thinking of starting it up again. It's a lot easier than I remember as a kid.
Yeah, first time I played it, I struggled. Then playing it again years later, its actually one of the easier DQ games.

Shit one more question that I can't find an answer to. How hard is it to get specific tablets shared by the anons here?

So I have this Crispin guy now , he is talking about misbehaving at some funeral

I did not go to this funeral so I missed an event somehow, I dont even know who this Crispin guy is but the game is acting like I do

can someone fill me in ?

Damn if there is I might actually have to finally get around to pirating games on my spare 3DS

>Gabo is agility oriented
Either they changed that from the old days or you're fucking bonkers.

I'm going to assume the former, because in PS1 he was THE fucking physical beast in HP, STR, AGL, and VIT. The things he sucked at were MP, INT, Style, and maybe Luck?
Melvin and Aira were similar to what you said, though Aira had more physical stats and Melvin had more magical. MC was about even all around, with some slight physical orientation, but hardly a raw physical fighter. Maribel was shit at everything. Only big advantage was high MP and, IIRC, Style and maybe decent agility.
I honestly felt no need to ever use her outside of when I was forced to.

That said, some stuff has obviously changed from the PS1 era (no, I don't need specifics, I know about them), but this is new to me. That being said, I'm not too surprised I guess. While the allies weren't exactly the same across the board, this new stat-bias is more balanced at least, so I give them some credit for that.

He's a chad who hangs around at the bar and gets women wet with his torban skills

Sword and Courage for the hero.

Staff, knives, and a little bit of fisticuffs for Jessica.

Yhangus I put in like 20 for hammer at the beginning., now I'm dumping it all into axes and humanity.

Haven't got Angelo yet. I forget what he has.

I mean I'm going to start playing that file again, I'm not playing my original file, but I'll keep using this file.

-----

As a side-note, is it normal to have some graphical glitches when emulating this game on the PS3? My character's models stretched out all across the screen for a scene when on the boat where you fight the second boss. That's the only time anything happened, it's all worked perfectly so far otherwise.

MC seems much more powerful in physical attacks compared to Ruff, at least where I am in the story anyway. Maribel has just left

AGI and MP are the only stats you need for a mage dawg.

Her Wisdom's good too but I have no clue if that effects magic damage at all in 7. Finding the exact effects of Wisdom and Luck in DQ games is a fucking bitch for some reason.

If you're playing the PS2 version whip is the best for Jessica. Twin Dragon Lash is really OP.

I dunno man, I don't think my stat rolls were THAT lucky. He was slamming in everyone's shit when I played on PS1.
So, if that's the case, I guess they did change it. I suppose that's more balanced and makes a bit more sense since he is smaller.

Mini medal hunting, what or where is the Cave to another world?

You mean you have a gen 1 PS3 right? I don't know if there are any graphical glitches. There is when emulating it on PC.

They did change the balance of jobs so it's not unlikely they changed stats as well. Ruff's weapon choices also don't seem as powerful as the Hero's so far either.

Only problem I ever had on PC was a lack of shadows when I first emulated it years ago
On a newer version of PCSX2 everything seems fine with my current settings.

Yeah, because nothing in-game tells you and logically you figure it would work some way, but it doesn't.
I think for 7 and before, Wisdom/INT's actual effect is to determine how well you can actually avoid some status ailments. I read that once in an official guide book (don't remember which).
Only from 8 (and 9 since it was split) onward does it actually (somewhat) affect the damage/healing that spells inflict.
Luck is just... I don't even fucking know.

He always had some odd weapon choices though, so I guess that's about the same.
It can take some time for him in-between chests and shops to get something that's actually decent.

Is it a big mistake NOT to go with whips? I'm not a fan of whips as weapons in the first place, and the fact that it's OP is making want to use them even less.

What kind of glitches?

Downstairs at the shrine of mysteries

Staffs are better if you want her to do well at casting magic. MP regeneration is great.
Plus you get some extra spells and a 0MP midheal which is good for random battles.

Daggers/Swords are kinda shit for Jessica
You can get away with Staves/Sex Appeal if you want to make her a full time caster. Fisticuffs is okay for the Evasion boost when unarmed in some boss fights, but only if you aren't going full Staves (unequipping them removes the big bonus max MP you get)

I dunno how it is exactly in the remake but I know they at least nerfed Twin Dragon Lash. In the PS2 version it's pretty strong but it's hardly OP, Hero will end up outdamaging it later anyways.

Not really. You can use pretty much anything in 8 and get away with it. Twin dragon lash is just a really great skill to use against bosses and makes Jessica a badass damage dealer.

Dragon quest monsters is the shit wigga. Don't feel shame for enjoying an awesome game.

But i fucking love dragon quest 7.

They are different games.. but still great.

All this DQ talk reminds me, I wanted to get back to my replay of DQ8 and make more webms of different skills.

But I need to finish all the postgame shit in 7 first god dammit, almost done grinding Ruff up to a Slaughtomaton at least. I'll worry about grinding through Esterk and Platinum King when I get to the second bonus dungeon.

There's the lack of shadows but also the flashback glitch. The PS2 game put a brown filter over flashback scenes, but when emulating on PS2 you only see the brown and text. I assume its a problem with one of the layers. Probably the same layer the shadows are on.

>The PS2 game put a brown filter over flashback scenes, but when emulating on PS2 you only see the brown and text
Oh yeah, you used to be able to fix that by going into software mode. Runs a bit slower but in cutscenes that doesn't matter.

When I started replaying with the newer PCSX2 that was fine as well but I dunno if there was some specific setting related to it.

The very first time I played DQVIII, I did the absolute worst skills on everyone. Boomerang, scythes, knives and bows. Still was able to beat the game and even the end game boss. There is a much more efficient build, but its not required.

If you want to know the best build, read below.

Hero: Spears (100), Swords (28), Boomerangs (12), Courage (100)
Yangus: Fisticuffs (40), Axes (82), Humanity (100)
Jessica: Knives (40), Whips (66), Staves (13), Sex Appeal (66)
Angelo: Swords (82), Staves (32), Charisma (82)

>Marcello isn't a party member in the 3ds version
Fucking wasted opportunity.

Why the everloving fuck would you want him?

When you're on the attributes screen which class is under berserker/left of malevolantern?

Not having everything on that page starred is hurting my autism

>Strong enough to resist Rapthorne's power until you gangbang him 4 vs 1
>Nice voice
What's not to love?

>Putting points into Knives at all
>Not going Bow on Angelo for infinite MP and Shining Shot
Shit build

>tfw you finally get a super huge payout and don't have to keep savescumming the slots anymore

>tfw you grind the casino so much in the last town of DQVIDS you lose all will to play the game and you never finish it

After playing the demo for Builders I have a few questions for anyone who imported/played the japanese version
Does DQB's sandbox mode let you just build and fight off monsters for days?
is there any difference between npc's besides what they say? (do they have skills)
Can you make NPC's live in certain homes/work certain buildings/come with you to quest?
can you do these things in sandbox mode?

>tfw you have never once touched the casino and are still blowing through the game
Feels good man.

Sandbox mode lets you travel to areas that you've cleared in the main story. There are no monster attacks and you just travel to areas through portals.
No NPCs in that mode from what I've played.

I get the same way man, there's something really melancholic about DQ music for me, funny you should mention FF8 because the soundtrack never fails to make me feel melancholy

>tfw endgame with 3 champions and a druid with platking omniheal and healslime multiheal.
Feels good. Nothing can stand in my way now.

dqI: blond
dqII ??? blue hat not sure
DQIII: black
DQIV:Green
DQV:Black
DQVI:Blue
DQVII: Black
DQVIII: also black
DQIX: character creation, though the guy on boxart is brown haired.

only spin off i can remember right now is swords and he's brown haired

>Putting points into Knives at all
40 points gives you the ability to use swords. Letting Jessica equip the Falcon Blade.

>Not going Bow on Angelo for infinite MP and Shining Shot
Swords are still better damage for Angelo. And by the time you have that combo going, you have 200+ MP and don't need it.

the fuck game are you talking about

There's a piece of Monster Battle Road art that shows Prince Middenhall with white hair under his cap.

How do I get to the top of present Highendrigh Tower? I can't figure out how to get past the locked gate with the hole in the wall.

What customization options are there aside from building a variety of homes?
The player can't level because they're a builder but can they equip a large variety of weapons?
What "abilities" can a player earn?
I saw something that said abilities in the equipment menu
and so you can't really control the NPC's even in the story?

I'm probably getting WOFF first then since that sounds like it has a bit more customization options in the form of party management and leveling and whatnot

What settings are you using on pcsx 2? i keep getting weird artifacts i the dialogue boxes

past or present?
talk to the kid next to it in the past
go to the basement first in the present

It's less about needing and more about wanting the best gear as soon as possible

I really don't know much Japanese so I probably missed a lot in the game.
Equips are fairly limited and linear. It's just better armour, better weapons as you find more materials.
NPC's seem to do what they want and aren't that useful but you can assign them to buildings to give them additional stats and such.
Certain unique equips give you abilities like negating fall damage.

Why would you need to give her a Falcon Blade when you have Twin Dragon Lash? If you want to kill Metal Slimes just give her a Poison Needle. Better off maxing Sex Appeal for Hustle Dance with those 40 points. Or putting more into Staves for Magic Barrier at 31 points.

Swords are useful on Angelo for killing Metals but you're not even going all the way down to get him Lightning Storm, the one thing different from Hero's swords that he gets. And he gets Pearly Gates from Charisma so Lightning Storm is kinda redundant. Shining Shot does 100 damage to everything for 10 MP, and with Seraph Shot you can keep that going forever. And heal forever. For real leave the damage against single targets to everyone else, that's not what Angelo is for or is even all that effective at. Bows get Multishot if you need him to hit a single target anyways.

None of this particularly matters since you can beat the game with any setup but for real, there's better options than what you're suggesting.

ah. I fought that King Slime the first time I came here, but I didn't agree to help the scholar yet and apparently that is the trigger for Goobris to join. Didn't think to try talking to them again. Thanks

>Spend 5 hours getting a pointy hat in the casino
>Can buy something better in 2 hours on the next island

Fucking sucks man even though the tracks are great

>everyone tells you to use swords for Hero in DQ8
>haha fuck these guys ill go spears

Here's the graphics plugin settings.

Spear is the best option t b h. Especially if you want to holocaust metal slimes.

Either way is good, as long as you always go 100 points in Courage

Ok so in Dragon Quest 7 I just

revived the almighty

and there is supposed to be a feast in Pilchard bay but it wont trigger, I have talked to everyone and tried to sleep a few times, wtf so I do

I hate that lightning thrust is 50% to hit and 100% to crit. I would rather 100% hit 50% crit.

Multithrust at high tension is better damage anyways man
With Swords you'd be doing the same thing with Falcon Slash all day

It's the same shit. You're not going to chip away at metal king slimes 1 HP at a time anyway.

Poison Needle isn't as good in DQVIII as it is in other games. Certainly not the 33% chance you get in DQIV (plus Alena's 33% added on top). Equipping a sword is better in some instances, even for fighting metal slimes. Then when you encounter King Metal SLimes, you switch to a Poison Needle.

Twin Dragon Lash is also good late game when you have the Girg whip. But for 2/3 or more of the game, the sword options will be better for Jessica in boss battles.

Also, you don't need to max out swords on Angelo. It would be nice to. But the one major flaw in DQVIII is that Jessica and Angelo get less points than Hero and Yangus. So you can max out 2 and a half whole trees on Hero and Yangus, but don't even get 200 points for Jessica and Angelo (unless you grind past level 45 or grind for a bunch of skill seeds). If you did get over 200 points, I would have maxed out Angelo's sword as well. I hope they fix this in the remake.

Lightning Thrust and Executioner are for dealing with Metals dude. Use your other moves for actual damage.

this isn't what gsdx looks like for me...

>Twin Dragon Lash is also good late game when you have the Girg whip
Twin Dragon Lash outdamages anything the Hero or Yangus can do for a good chunk of the game before that dude.

I'm getting Meteorite Bracers and Metal King Helms brah. And usually the best lucky panel equipment in past casinos didn't get outdated until like 5 islands later, especially the weapons

In the past casino near Altrades you can get a Warhammer, which I didn't replace until I got the fucking Miracle Sword from mini medals 30 hours later

And in the present casino, which apparently has different Lucky Flip prizes, you can get a Zombiesbane which is even stronger.

Is it really worth it though, bro?

Every girl wants the D

>never bothered with 3ds emulation
>the only way I'll play a remake of my favorite game ever in English is if I emulate it

Maybe if Kiefer wanted the D he wouldnt have abandoned me?

>Making everyone basically immune to weak spells and most status ailments (except Maribel, but she gets the Gold Tiara from the Wisdom contest which does the same thing)
>Double Agi on everyone
>Not worth it
Granted I'm not bothering buying Metorite Bracers until I feel like hunting Platinum Kings, but they're certainly good items. And not all that expensive.

Just buy a 3DS and hack it, then pirate it.

Just buy a 2DS for cheap somewhere and hack it

I'm an autist about this type of thing. If I can get very advanced or super optimal gear from casinos and the like, I'll work through the pain

>mfw everyone talked about how Dark Metal Dragon was fucking impossible
>they didn't know about the metal holocausters

Link to the page?

He would have just rode on old man Riffer's shaft.

HEY GUYS DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE GUY WHO CAN TALK TO ANIMALS? HE LIVES IN ESTARD!

It kinda sucks that Maribel can't equip the metal king helm but the good thing is that you can get the golden tiara very early. It's almost strange how early you can get what is essentially her best headgear

Not when I was using it. But I'll try it in the 3DS remake...oh wait. Well, guess I'm going back to swords.

>2016
>the Dharma caves are STILL FUCKING MY SHIT UP
I am a failure of a human being

user if it makes you feel better, I never beat Beastman in BN3 when I was younger and I ended up dropping the game. I got back to it a few years ago and I fucking beat him on my first try

just heal better, bro

BN3 is fucking goat, Why didnt your shota self try again and again? Are you gay or something?

estard is the kingdom not the castle.

I went for months until I just gave up and moved to BN2 instead

Its on emulator

Talk to the King

About that... uh... postgame there's a fight that he fights with you in

it took me 103 hours to beat the game. Only fuck I was full retard way too many times.

...

>pilchard bay
REEEE

I am playing DQ7. Does anyone know how to get the mysterious shard from the priest in Buchannan present? I know he has it and I have beaten the game but I can't find it. Swear I have examined everything there.

Took me 80 hours, with a lot of Casino fuckery

I do

>Talk to old guy playing Lucky Flip on the top floor
>Talk to rich guy in the hall under casino
>Talk to armor seller's wife
>Talk to armor seller on top of the Beacon
>Talk to Priest in the bar under the casino
>Follow Priest to the bedroom over the church, talk to the Nun looking at him
>Examine the altar

Thank you!

But for real how am I supposed to kill the lower Dharma temple caves boss duo? The Cat and Pig fuck keep desperate-ing people for 75 damage while everybody is fucking paralyzed and blind and the fucking Salvation stone is healing cunts for 13 points of life

alright, post your parties people

>Hero: Champion
>Maribel: Druid
>Bark: Monster Masher

The first fight you are supposed to lose. The second fight you need to be a decent level and concentrate one at a time. They should either be weak to sleep or sap. Lv15-17 or so for MC and Maribel should be adequate I think.

>hero: pirate
>maribel: druid
>ruff: monster masher
>melvin: champion

auster as anyone but pirate is blasphemy

>weak to sleep or sap
>no spells or abilities

MC - Champion
Ruff - Paladin
Aishe - Pirate
Sir Mervyn - Hero
Maribel - Druid

Hero: Paladin
Ruff: Pirate
Maribel: Sage
Mervyn: Sage

>>>>>>bark
delete yourself

Is there a way to rename party members?

Oh fuck. Sorry lol
I am tired and didn't remember that part.
Then it should be one less thing to worry about. Just concentrate on maribel healing with the stone every turn and attacking one of them at a time.

go to alltrades abbey

Is Dragon Quest swords any good?

At Alltrades, talk to one of the priests in the basement in the present.

Not him but Bark is a cute name for him.

After you talk to the guy on top on the beacon you can talk to the nun near the alter and she will say the priest has been checking the alter a lot recently. Go examine it and get the shard. There I saved you a couple steps

>healing with the stone
>14-19 points
>30-120 incoming damage per turn

the priest in hubble just got btfo trying to protect the little girl, how much longer until I finish this island?

sweet, thanks guys

What level are you mate? If you're below 14 you may want to go kill some shit.

You fucked up somewhere man. It is the second fight right? Not the first that you were supposed to lose?

It sounds like you don't have enough levels or decent armor. Hopefully you can rectify that somehow. Might need to grind a bit.

>Hero
Champion

>Aishe
Champion

>Ruff
Hero

>Maribel
Druid

I had Maribel master Healslime, but the AI for "Focus on Healing" has her use Hustle over Multiheal. I can just have her follow my orders, but it's annoying when the AI makes a dumb decision like that.

You should be almost done after another trip to and from the Conjorium

>really enjoyed the Builders demo
>not sure I want to really buy the game though
>preorder exclusive DLc

Oh god. I don't want to buy a game I won't play right away, since I'm not near done with VII yet.

Does anyone have the images showing the store exclusive preorder bonuses? I was thinking Amazon because of 20% though.

>all this running around and hunting for the mysterious fragments post game
I just want to punch God in the face

I just got jobs in DQVII. What's the best way to grind sub level 20?

The DQM translation and DQVII are all playable on menuhax as long as you have the adequated firmware and the game .cia

Drake Slime tablet you receive from the citizen in Haven. That the current story island your on.

I found it fun. It's pretty much like an rail arcade game.

Slime Tablet. Don't do EVERY vocation however, it'll break the game. I maxed out two vocations to get a second tier vocation, for everyone, but that was it.

Meant to quote this

Nice, I beat the Almighty in 15 turns on my first try

That "Bolt from the Blue" attack is a fucking bitch though

>Don't do EVERY vocation however, it'll break the game.
Will it make it too easy, or does it actually glitch the game?

You may just get the chance to give him a Knuckle Sandwich ;)

It'll be too easy, even with tier two vocations, you get some REALLY good moves that take ZERO MP. Thin Air is one and Scorch is one.

the former

youll remove any difficulty the game mightve had

i mean if you wanna just gigaslash everything to death thats fine

but even pirate and monster masher give you game breakers like sword dance and scorch

It does make the game far easier, but it takes forever to master a lot of them and you will probably grow bored of the game doing it that way.

Hero: he has hero mastered but I might make him a champion.
Maribel: Druid, just like everyone.
Ruff: not sure what to make him, thinking paladin or hero.
Mervyn: Planning on champion but hero is a possibility.
Aishe: Luminary and then the bench when Maribel returns.

why did you leave me Kiefer

I just got done with the Robot island.
I'm not trying to sound impatient, but I'm just curious. When should I expect to get jobs?

>DUDE PURPOSE LMAO

Hero: Hero
Mervyn: Champion
Ruff: Slaughtomaton
Maribel: Druid

10 more hours

Because the Demon King has better things to do then travel with you.

Pussy, which I'll have to assume is fit for the gods.

>Oomph + Focus Strength Knuckle Sandwich
God why is this so broken

Is there a better class for Ruff than monster masher? It just seems the most fitting.

Any of the monster classes good?

Healslime is alright because it will give him a decent array of healing spells and ultimately multiheal. Good with his speed.

People will say Prism Peacock, but I found it to be god awful and not worth the 100s of battles it takes to master.

hero makes monster masher kind of redundant, it's just better all around since it learns monster masher's best skills plus way more.

min levels for the alltrades rescue quest?

Any links to a writing on this? Apparently it has some fans in Japan and is seen as a legit possibility. Don't you follow Kiefer in the gba game caravan hearts? Guessing that game shits on the theory but whatever.

Hero learns Monster Masher's best shit and then some
Or just send him through a billion Monster Classes until you end on one of the yellow monsters here

Where are the bonus dungeon pieces? I only have the top and bottom left of the first pedestal and a bunch of the second. Where are the second 2 pieces for the first pedestal?

What's the best place to grind out vocations if I can't use the slime forest anymore?

>Hero
Spear

>Yangus
Axe

>Angelo
Bow

>Jessica
Staff

Why is Builders so comfy?

>forgot maribel took her items with her
>forgot to remove the healslime heart from her inventory

FUCK I NEED TO GRIND ANOTHER ONE FOR MELVIN

Does the Almighty get harder every time you beat him or something? I was going hard on the offensive this second time but it took me 20 turns and he didn't give me jack shit.

check the bag

If you're less than level 25, DrakSlime dungeon. If you're higher, you should be able to make your own tablets which don't have level caps as far as I can tell

Is the full game of Builder's supposed to be pretty deep?

oh thank god, i was terrified for a second

>spoonfeeding

autism 2bh

>finally got champion
>oh boy can't wait to see what it looks like
>mfw

Fucking dropped. I'm going hero instead. Who thought that ribbon was a good idea?

>you cant choose between keeping your normal look or the vocation look
JUST

the floating piece of cloth on the back is a japanes thing that means illumination

I mean, I'm aware, but it's just so unfitting.

>Don't you follow Kiefer in the gba game caravan hearts?
You do.
>Guessing that game shits on the theory but whatever.
It doesn't. Hell, if anything it lends credibility to it.

>you're supposed to lose the Hybris fight
oh thank god, I was worried for a second

Yeah, if you already have Multiheal then the fight seems extremely difficult but not impossible. It was kinda fun fighting him for a while

>make mervyn a mage
>see an old man in drag on serious scenes
Immersion broken tbf

I managed to survive a long while until he spammed two 120+ damage area attacks in a row.

just beat murdaw at his castle in dq6.

was that the 'casual filter' for dq6?

In the PS1, if you're able to keep going, the fight just ends prematurely, not sure if by monster HP or by turns.

Is it the same for the DS version?

I actually really like the ribbon but mainly because of the fact that I know the class used to be called Godhand and is itself described as a soldier of heaven. It adds a nice touch that implies powers similar to that of a god or just insanely stronk and godly in general

Yeah, I got two party members wiped but then the fight cut short for the scene where he gets weakened. Everyone gets healed up for free.

How do spells like Magic Barrier and Insulatle work? Do they stack on themselves, like Buff? How long do they last?

Also I unlocked it on Mervyn first so it looked pretty badass but most classes look that way on him anyway

Yes. Imo he's the hardest fight in all of DQ since you are limited in magic and abilities before you get vocations.

They don't stack
They last 5 turns I think?

>it used to be called Godhand
I wish they had kept that. It's so much cooler than Champion.

Anyone have a screenshot of what his Luminary costume looks like? I wanna see it but I don't wanna grind all those classes on him just to get a chuckle.

I can see how it would look cool on a grizzled old man, but on the hero it just looked goofy as shit.

I just beat Hybris. Maribel leaves immediately after I go back to the present, right?

For Dragon Quest Heroes, does anyone know if Raging Ruby stacks?

I got two of them with each having added effects of 6%.

I think it looks cool

if its the last of the 3 islands then yes the minute you warp back she bails

>What you playing?
VII.

>Have you sent that e-mail to support a X release?
I sent it and also asked for DQM2 remake

What's next? Builders, waiting on 8?
Skipping builders, because I don't have a PS4 and my PS3 broke.
Waiting on 8
Hoping to find DQMJ2 just lying around in a store one day.

I can't remember, but there's a bug with getting the Great Leveler, right?

o-oh

yeah, don't get the upgraded version with maribel in your party
