Fallout 3 did.
Fallout 4 was just raping the corpse.

>implying Fallout 5 won't come out right after Skyrim 2

>reading comprehension

>Fallout 3 did.
No, it didn't, because New Vegas was released after it and it was the best game in the franchise along with FO2.

>New Vegas was released after it and it was the best game in the franchise
Enough with this fucking meme.
NV is literally 3 but more of it.

>NV is literally 3 but more of it.
Nice opinion you have there, too bad it's shit and irrelevant.

NV = FO2 > FO1 > shit > piss > FO3 > FO4.

Fallout 3 did

NV was literally an expansion of 3. It had (kinda?) better writing, but the writing in Fallout has never been good. It had factions you could join, but that had no impact on the game outside of the faction's stronghold (besides NCR/Legion, in which case the only consequence is that you'd be attacked by the Legion for going NCR or miss half the game if you went Legion)
NV also had the most fucking boring setting in the series: a literal desert with a conflict between cowboys and Romans. It was too cheesy to take seriously and not ridiculous enough to be campy. Otherwise it had the same godawful combat, dialog, and general gameplay as 3.

It died after Bethesda bought the franchise.

It died after Bethesda dumbed down TES. Morrowind, Oblivion... the moment they intended to buy the franchise.

I think Fallout 4 killed bethesda. 3 vs NV shitposting aside 4 was fucking terrible and cant even be saved by mods, it's just so unimmersive and ugly.

nah, more like this youtube.com/watch?v=iWcZ2uAz9Ww

The Division and Fallout should merge.

I hope youre not insinuating Oblivion was a good game. Let me guess, you were in the 13-15 age range when Oblivion released?

We can only hope

you're wrong though, just accept it

new pirate

>Not actually posting cock version

Nah, it sold like pancakes.

>that opinion
oh dear...

>Not posting the mortal combat version

No, it made plenty of money. Expect to see more Fallouts in the same vein.

This thread is the perfect example why I hate Cred Forums

>nomnomnom eating bethesda's shit

No, thanks. Tried to finish it with mods, never again.

I'm not sure you what it means for a franchise to be dead.

Fingers crossed!

or, you know, just stop visiting

No but it did dampen enthusiasm across the board for another game. Even the people who like Fo3 were mostly unimpressed with Fo4. The people who truly love Fo4 are casuals who don't play more than 5-6 hours of it, but they've already forgotten about it. It's clear to everyone that the best Bethesda can do is make a modding platform. This won't sustain them in the long term, outside of the fetish/porn mod community.

We can only hope

Well someone has managed to make a multiplayer mod for NV recently. It's pretty barebones but it seems to work.

Also, the larger problem here is that Fallout can't figure out who it wants to service. The kiddies who played Fo3 and think it's amazing moved on to DayZ and similar. Even younger kiddies grow up with Minecraft and find Fallout 4 to be extremely lacking as the settlements are pre-determined, and the landscape is not modifiable. And of course RPGfags have nothing to go on. Even amongst the kiddos that got Fo4 for console, and like it, have to live without most mods and PS4 buyers don't get mods at all.

There's just not enough content to satisfy any "core" group, so there is none. If Fo5 is just Fo4 but in a different place, it won't flop but won't exceed Fo4's sales. Bethesda needs to pick a path and commit. They clearly couldn't do this with Fo4, which is one part DayZ survival clone, one part bad RPG, one part Minecraft clone, and one part Mass Effect clone (this may not be obvious, but the companion system was clearly meant to be deeper ala ME but Bethesda gutted it).

Todd's a good salesman though and Fallout will exist up through 6 and 7. That is, unless Zenimax makes it into a f2p MMO, MOBA, or mobile game.

I hope so

no. retards will always fall for the hype and buy it and then regret it later.

"War, War never changes" has never been more meaningless and forced.

If by "killed the franchise" you mean "brought it back to the public eye and made it extremely lucrative", then yes, both Fallout 3 and 4 "killed the franchise" so much.

>black bars

Yeah, you're absolutely correct, thing is Obsidian fanboys are so invested in the company they will give their games a pass for literally anything. Since the games have no valid flaws in their eyes, they're logically the best ever.

You can't make this shit up

this

>caring more about financial success of a video game rather than the actual quality of the game
you'd best be a shareholder if you have such a pathetic fucking view about video games

i enjoyed exploring the world killing, looting and leveling for about 50h before i finally got bored and dropped it without finishing the main quest. just like i did with fo3, nw and skyrim and most likely will do again with fo5 and skyrim 2

I thought blue eye guys are suppose to be the most intelligent and passionate people around so how could this guy let this happen?

youtube.com/watch?v=ftbvcyN1e-s

Nah. As long as there are casuals, it will survive.
