Unless the Nagito OVA expands on it, there was essentially no consequences to DR2 now either, they talk about having to atone and all but Hajime & maybe Sonia were the only ones who seemed to even have an air of trauma about them and the rest just act like how they did in Zetsubou-hen. I'm not actually complaining about the DR2 cast being brought back (I think that just the survivors would've been fine, but whatever), but the way it was handled was just extremely shit.

The way I see it, the DR1 survivors & the DR2 survivors basically won their battles against the uncertain fates they were pushing against at the end of their games at the end of DR3, and got all their (available) people out in one piece. There are some people complaining that DR1 cast members aren't being bullshit back to life, except that even this ties in with Makoto saying that he'd never let anything like that killing game happen again. He basically succeeded at that (even if indirectly).

The actual problem is just how shit the story in DR3 itself is and all the gaping plot holes everywhere . I hope that Kodaka realises that he's better at smaller more self-contained mysteries than he is at this big dumb epics already.
