This allowed for teammates to deny the points from the enemy team and such. It doesn't have to be exactly this, I'm just pointing out that there are ways to do it.

In my experience with the game competitive mode really fixed dealing with shitty team comp. There's really not much to lose while playing it and the matchmaking is semi-good. It weeds out all the shitlords and leaves you with people who care more about overall team comp rather than soloing a hero (or having a team full of winstons).
