lmao?

I dunno, ill tell you after I pirate it.

Yes, if it's launch is as messy as XCOM 2's.

"Gaia get out I'm piss"

Looks pretty good, contrarians will disagree

Yes, it either will be GOTY or it won't, so 50%

It'll be the 2017 GOTY once the expansion packs come out

I'll tell you in three years when I pay a reasonable price for it and the two DLC it will need to be playable.

If the release A.I. is completely retarded like the demo, and if Eureka moments go unpatched and make completing all technology possible by the 1800s, yes.

Thankfully both of these were probably left ridiculously easy to make the prerelease demo easy for newbies to follow, or otherwise will get patched based on community feedback.

Only if it gets a Dawn of Civilization mod otherwise it's worthless reddit tier game now

>MUH GANDHI XD

Rate this War of the Protestant League

will this be able to run on toasters tha can run civV?

same, got civ 5 with all the expansions and dlc for like $12. Won't bother with this one till then.

Why does it look so cartoony?

tumblr

Why is Civ even PC exclusive at this point? Not that I want the inevitable console dumbing-down to happen, but the Civ UI is so streamlined it could be handled on a console.

It's the "we want the mobile market" art-style.

Is where you should go back to, yes

It's not streamlined at all and would chug on PS4, might run on PS4 Pro though. Since it can't run on the PS4 slim it can't be made at all.

I honestly can't see how is it even possible to be played with a controller.

The specs came out a few days ago. They don't sound too extreme but YMMV.

>"Well we had a really long talk about [the Mongols] and whether we should include them in this installment of the series. Eventually we started asking ourselves if it was just time to move in different direction completely and if maybe we could find a less 'controversial' alternative. The Mongols were known for committing mass rape and murder and just kind of being jerks {laughs}, and how would people feel if we included someone like Hitler in the game? We still wanted to have a nomadic horse people from the steppe though, and eventually someone suggested the Scythians led by Queen Tomarys, who most people never even heard about. I remember we were doing our research on her and Steven literally asked me "How have I never heard of this woman?" So yes, that really fit into the vision we wanted to have of showing off lesser known but still larger-than-life personalities. It was like the stars aligned, basically. Of course Genghis Khan can still show up as a great general, but I'll probably delete him if I ever get him." {laughs}"

Na the art's pretty shitty.

>implying any civ has ever come close to goty
Grand strategy is a boring, unfun genre tailor made for autists.

>let's keep greentexting some dialogue and never provide source

I quite enjoyed watching gameplay of the changes they made so far.

T

RTS is pretty fucking boring, sorry senpai

Steam controller was practically desgined to play games like Civ to the point where the steam controller kind of sucks for actual controller games.

Friendly reminder that Scythians got cucked out of existence and became Slavs.

Why the fuck is there a word filter on f@m? Racist ass cracker site

I have 512 mbs of vram so probably no :(

>Civ 5 was pretty meh
>Civ 5: Brave New World was fucking amazing

Part of me is cautious about jumping on Civ 6 immediately because it might do a similar thing.

Sure it could though? Just make it so the player scrolls through tiles and menu options instead of using a mouse cursor, and make Civilopedia a mobile app.

Selecting multiple units would be tedious though.

I'd be okay with Hitler as a leader. I mean, if Stalin is okay why not Hitler? Infamous leaders shouldn't be set aside because of their controversy.

Yes.

Stardew Valley is already GOTY

>Civ 5 was pretty meh
>Civ 5: Brave New World was fucking amazing

>Indie trash
>GOTY

HAHA you make me laff Cred Forums

Duh 100% chance it wont be.

who the fuck plays civ

Nobody besides PRIMA would make a book about Cuck 6. Stardew Valley already has an almanac.

isn't that true about anything, regardless of the subject?

It looks better in motion and it's better to have cartoon animations than V's boring crap

>hyper realistic promo art
>stupid-ass cartoony graphics

Just because a bunch of redditors gathered around and circle jerked about a game and made an almanac doesn't make it not trash.

He's probably the same fag that thought No Man's Sky was actually within the full range of expectations, when the head of the company is currently under investigation for fraud

HAHAHA

It's genuinely the best game I've played all year.

Whats your favorite game of 2016 so far?

This looks like that failed Age of Empires Online game

>redditors
You mean people with money, and selling to other people who paid money for Stardew Valley, when Civ is literally a reddit game and the only site that talks about that trash fire of a series

I think the art style looks fun.

You might be able to get away with switching to Strategic Mode so all you have is a top-down map display with no unit models. But it's hard to say until we get our hands on it.
>:(
user pls no

Howe soon people forget

Shut the fuck up

>RTS

it's not RTS

how did they get it looking so bad

youtube.com/watch?v=sFlxSgOEZrk

who /banjo/ here

It have nothing to do with the UI and everything with xbone and ps4 lacking the power to run them. Besides, why would someone with a console care about a game that isn't an action adventure game?

So that modders have an easier time making costume civilizations that don't stand out from the original ones.

>Mongols weren't remarkable enough to be in the game
>but Brazil, Poland and Kongo are

Firaxis hitting the peace pipe pretty hard.

I /banjo/ here.
youtube.com/watch?v=j-xjPgOjRTM

this video just convinced me to get this game and I've never even played Civ, I fucking love evolving music

How many aqueducts did they build and what kinds of currency did they mint?

I have a gaming PC and am buying Civ VI.
I'm just making a pointed observation.

Who are you playing as first Cred Forums ?
I'm thinking of going with Egypt or Greece. They seem more suited to peaceful play.

because that really looks so much better.

They were directly responsible for bringing archery and horse riding to the West, so they deserve some credit for Western societal advancements.

Probably Japan. Not even a weaboo, but that societal bonus subsidizes building huge metropolises

>13th century
>aqueducts

As for currency:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chao_(currency)

By the way, how many aqueducts did Kongo build? Oh, and how many Roman military tactics were still applicable to the modern era.

Because Mongols inspired the Blitzkrieg and Desert Storm to name a few.

Murica because Murica

China

Look at dis nigga

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chao_(currency)
Says nothing about the Mongols

Yes, stellaris is GOTY 2016

>Oh, and how many Roman military tactics were still applicable to the modern era.
You had a point up until this

Stellaris is unfinished as fuck though
>Didn't even have rally points at launch

You may literally be retarded, or just know nothing about history.

>The chao was the official banknote of the Yuan dynasty in China. Unlike the earlier paper money such as jiaozi, it was the first paper currency to be used as the predominant circulating medium in the history of China. The primary press was the Imperial Mint established in 1260.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_dynasty

>The Yuan dynasty was the empire or ruling dynasty of China established by Kublai Khan, leader of the Mongolian Borjigin clan.

Please tell me you were being willfully stupid.

You right, but Civ will be bad as fuck on release too, and there is no other games to compete with civ or stellaris even on release, in 2016.

Hopefully Murka won't be as bad as it was in Civ V.

Seriously, what the fuck was up with that, the civ was almost completely useless. Can't get much worse than the Ottomans, but they were close.

The exaggerated art style actually helps reduce visual clutter and more easily identify units and tiles on the map.

In VI their societal bonus is for legacy government bonuses iirc, so they really only shine late game or if you minmax your civics. I forget what Teddie's special trait is.

wow. i always thought the banjo was a meme instrument

After late-game Civ V and Beyond Earth, anything that lets me see shit more clearly is welcome. Beyond Earth was especially bad, in late-game it became such a confused mess I couldn't see anything.

To be fair, that was the least of BE's problems.

Between that, Starships and XCOM 2, it's becoming pretty clear that quality control has been nonexistent at Firaxis for a while now.

Dont get Civ 6
Civ 4 had the same thing by the same composer.

Saw it earlier and yea it's neat.

Late-Game always becomes a mess.
Its the nature of hex games. That being said, removing so much visual aesthetics in favor of clarity hasnt done the game well. I'd prefer Rise of Nations incredibly beautiful graphics to Civ 6's flat and mobile art style.

I thought Starships was just Sid Meier doing more experimentation.

Although you have a point about XCOM2.

It looks pretty fun honestly, like the changes. Still not going to buy day one tho, I'm still salty over BE.

Citation?

Uh...
I think we already have GOTY 2016

>analog stick moves "mouse" pointer

I propose we stop companies from shilling their games on Cred Forums by banning anything nice from being said about any game.

Not completely, because sometimes there's a bad videogame like Nep Nep: Panty Identification Sniffing which contrarians say is good.

>It have nothing to do with the UI and everything with xbone and ps4 lacking the power to run them
civ games are less heavy than every p4/bone games so far, i'm actually pretty sure they would run on ps3 no problem, if you think a 4x is more difficult to run than a bloodborne or halo you're way too deep in the le inferior hardware shitposting

yes if its anything like 5, or god forbid, 5 vanilla
ill prob pirate it, binge play it for a week, and then go back to SMAC

it's little like 5 tho, they cramped too many new mechanics in there.

I propose we stop shitposters from ruining Cred Forums by banning anything bad from being said about any game.

It's my most hyped game of the year, but I sincerely doubt it will be good enough to be considered GOTY.

All Civ games have critical issues in their vanilla release that eventually get fixed through xpacs. VI looks like it keeps most of the mechanics introduced in BNW and expands on them so I imagine it'll suffer from bad AI like we've seen in the preview build and some imbalance with leaders. Also the Multiplayer will probably suck again.

Spain for muh DEUS VULT and religious crusadan

After that I'll just random leader so I can learn the meta and git gud enough to win MP games and Diety

I will care a week after release when we find out whether or not multiplayer stability has finally been fixed.

>its a Cred Forumsfag gamer episode
kys

Have you played Civ5? Or Beyond Earth?

Don't pre-order Civ6.

Indeed.

Buying a game on release is just stupid. Nowadays they all launch broken. Ofcourse gamers ARE stupid so it works.

I checked, there is no such game. Why are you lying to me? ;-[.

nah, Civs usually worked fine on release. problem with them is usually amount of content.

Civ Rev was pure kino desu

>someone mentions religious crusades in strategy game that has religious victory
>WAAAAAAAAAH Cred Forumsfag WAAAAAAAAAAAH KILL YOURSELF REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

You are why nobody takes your "delete Cred Forums" shit seriously outside of your /qa/ circlejerk.

IV and V were horribly buggy at launch and needed patches to fix them. V was borderline unplayable until G&K was released.

You linked to the wrong post.

I guess I remember wrong then. My mistake.

>Civ 5: Brave New World was fucking amazing
The team that worked on Brave New World is the one that's working on Civ VI
They are using most of the tings they added with Brave New World, spliced with some of the good Beyond Earth Rising Tides stuff and the districts building from Endless Legend.

Can someone explain to me the district mechanic? I've never played any of the Endless games and I wonder how or what it'll add to the gameplay or meta.

>that
>not capable of running on the ps4
lmao

Last good Civ game was Civ III.

I hope they include dynamic music when you go to war. I liked the songs civ V had for when you were at war or when a city got nuked.

I doubt it will take the spot from Pokken, personally

There is none, it's made up

the video that was originally linked with it doesn't say anything even vaugely similar to that

The PS4 has 6Gb of RAM.

I'm sure it could run Civ. A lot of PC games get console ports or are already designed for a console release at the get go but a strategy game wouldn't sell on a console I'm sure.

That guy says it all.
youtu.be/YSlPwXOfnTU

really? source?

>potato ends up waifu material
fugin animation magic

was this any good? everyone was bashing it pre-release

I assume it's the song that starts the era, not on a loop.
That would get old fast.

Actually the Mongols took over China for a few centuries.

You know the people who invented paper currency?

>I imagine it'll suffer from bad AI like we've seen in the preview build
Could you elaborate? I didn't watch any streams.

Everyone complaining about the models were idiots for thinking it looked bad. Obviously it looks good animated.

>GOTY
>because it's a AAA
great metrics lad

Every game is GOTY the term has lost all meaning

People who aren't retarded unlike you.

END THE FED

Can the AI even manage the eureka crap ? It seems to me like a new way for the player to keep up in science with the AI on deity.

civ is dead

>Have always wanted to get into Civ
>Have tried both IV and V
>Can't stay concentrated enough to actually learn how to play

I'll go through the tutorials and then I just sort of end up following the tech tree, building whatever it asks me to build next without really understanding what I'm doing

firaxis pls

>I wish I had any sort of patience, because it looks like a fun series to get lost in on a cozy sunday afternoon

It is, good to watch shows with too.

The AI is just god awful

the AI busts out settlers without any escorts and in civ6 captured settlers stay as settlers so it's so broken

city states have tier 1 slingers/warriors at turn 200 they never upgrade units

just fucking awful ai will have to wait for mod to fix it again

dumb frogposter

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirrup

Careful my friend. History is dangerous knowledge. The more you learn the more you will hate /pol. But white people are superior race! Muh glorious white civilisation!

Whats the problem user?

rate my proddie war

And the mod will be some awful brute force solution that doubles turn time.

To be fair it always was awful, just in earlier games AI just crushed you with unit spam

what's that greenish stuff next to the Köttbullar and potatoes?

...

no nimoy no chance

>because it looks like a fun series to get lost in on a cozy sunday afternoon

More like the whole weekend desu

I've made it a rule to never start a civ IV or V game after saturday morning or else I probably won't get enough sleep by monday.

>dumbing down
>This civ being more complex and interesting than the previous ones
Hmmm, you havent watched the streams have you?

Archery and horse riding existed in the west hundreds of years before the Mongols moved off their steppe.

Can I play as Serbia and remove kebabs?

Don't they like asians ?
I mean, as much as they don't make sence and exagerate things, Europe and Asia made 90% of our world.

Civ V was terrible but so far though it's even more retarded in VI, offers bad trades and will do dumb shit like accuse you of spreading religion in their territory when you defeat their missionaries on your own territory (the same civ later started spreading the player's religion with his own missionaries). One stream I saw the AI declared Holy War on the player even though they both had the same religion.

AIs don't seem to actively pursue victory conditions either, and are still abysmal at fighting wars. Barbarian units are more threatening than civ units throughout the majority of the game. I've watched more than one stream where the player was being overwhelmed by barb units and had to pull their military back to deal with it, leaving their forward cities exposed to AI they were actively at war with who did jack shit about it. They also send out settlers without escorts like mentioned, not even V AI is this bad.

The only difficulty we've seen so far is Prince, but if VI is like every other Civ game the AI doesn't improve above Prince difficulty and I doubt Firaxis will do anything to fix it.

user you don'ty need to convince me Cred Forums is cancer, I think the aztecs are the raddest shit ever

user...

his ass

Civ rev did pretty good I thought?

America. Because I think they look interesting and good, unlike past traits they've had. After that, Japan and Sumer.

so is there gonna be a proper tutorial now?

I've actually watched a few games from people with early access and the more I watch the less good it seems.

So chinks needed stirrups because they were shit at riding horses.

>tfw always go a peaceful cultural play.
i dont even try to win, just keep my people happy as can be and very educated/cultured and stay completely out of war. With a strong military solely as a deterrent.
Isnt that what a ruler should do?

...

pea stew

>But white people are superior race! Muh glorious white civilisation!

Are you trying to deny this?

It was fun if short and >30fps

It just recently got a 60fps patch though.

is this a yes?

Civ games are harder to run than you think. But they're usually more demanding on the CPU. The late stages of the game tend to take fairly long times for turns.

jesus christ could she suck in her gut any harder

...

They're incredibly poorly optimized.

Don't even try arguing with them. It's a lost cause.

>They trouble themselves with really well-animated models in V
>Cartoony simplification for VI
>Twice the graphic requirements

>tfw the Spaniards couldnt actually defeat the Aztecs alone so they had to go to neighboring cities and gather enemies of the Aztecs and fight together to bring them down
>Teno was almost the biggest city on the entire planet at the time with like 200,000+ people living there
>ripped motherfuckers hearts outs and ate them then spartan kicked their bodies down the temples
Aztecs are ultra underrated

It's about how they are (not) optimized than anything else. C2C for Civ 4 was in it's earlier itterations just plain impossible to play with more than 6 civs in it. After they've finally find the solution, you have maps 10 times the size of vanilla game, with up to 40 civs and it runs smooth, with turns taking up maybe 10 seconds by end game.

lol

thats Otumba. Killing villagers dont count, next youre gonna say the Vikings where conquerors too?

The source for that was already debunked. The authors padded out European accomplishments with a fuckton of useless philosophical treatises, which also explains why North America lags behind despite most breakthroughs in history occurring in the last 200 years specifically from the United States.

>absolutely no reason to go tall, even settling cities 40 turns from the end of the game is beneficial if you have the amenities to support it
>ranged units in civ 5 where already far superior to melee units, now they are even better because of the movement mechanics
>promotion system is worse, less overall choice
>AI is even worse, no city shots at the start lets you conquer an AI with 3 archers and a scout
>civ balance is worse than civ 5, the difference between rome and the kongo is worse than the difference between poland and iroquois
>the tech/civic tree placements seem fucking stupid, lots of dead ends and you can reach future tech without having all of the techs
>no science or culture scaling with number of cities means by the end of the game you are going to 1 or 2 turn most techs and civics
>late game units seem really fucking lackluster, a bomber will do 33 damage to a fucking knight
>barbarians are more imbalanced than civ 5, you can be scouted by a barbarian scout before you even finish your first scout, then have 3 warriors and 2 slingers shoved down your throat by the time you finish your first slinger
>AI agendas make them hate you for arbitrary reasons, getting denounce by mvemba who is on the other side of the world because you haven't spread the religion you founded 2 turns ago to him is stupid

massive imbalance between spawns;
>not spawning with floodplains sugar or jungle hill bananas while someone else does is a huge difference
>not finding any city states first massively gimps your culture and science and early production and faith
>not spawning on a fresh water tile gives you half the initial housing of someone who did
>not spawning on a hill or adjacent to one gives you 1 less hammer, compounded by the movement changes so it takes 2 turns to move to one, instead of just one turn
>having no rivers in your immediate surroundings fucks you over as well
>not having jungle or mountains nearby means you get massively gimped science

>tfw like to just build 3 cities and live in peace
they always have to ruin it

devs probably take it for granted that the average pc will have become better in the five years since civ v's release

desu i don't actually have leader animations turned on in-game because my pc is toaster-tier, but it's nice to see them

>>the tech/civic tree placements seem fucking stupid, lots of dead ends and you can reach future tech without having all of the techs
what's bad about this in particular?

>People still push the whole Tall meme

The more I read the more I'm amazed how little Europeans actually invented before the 16th century.

Luckily there were no patents back then.

Good goy.

They were just semi-tribals living in post-classical ruins. Ruins they were responsible for.
Fucking educate yurself instead of sprouting Hollywood memes

Because there is no redeeming reason at all to go tall, you just want to put down as many cities that you can afford with your luxury resources.

What are these Eureka moments?

Tall versus wide is just a meme that the developers pushed to market Civ V. It's a dumb concept and it doesn't make any fucking sense for the genre.

>Getting seizure in the middle of the sentence due to being agitated

This

The game from the start had flaved design due to appointing complete retard and self-declared "biggest fan" as lead designer and "idea guy".
Why everyone is punished for that sad sack's inability to play previous four games?

That's why small but developed countries like the Netherlands, France, the UK or Germany are shit, but fuckhueg countries like India, Pakistan or Nigeria are fucking amazing.

>Implying I'm even the other user

Can't argue with facts. Look at the tech tree of Civ and look them up on Wikipedia if you don't believe me.

>implying you're not
Nice try kid

They basically created the modern civilization by introducing the concept of colonization and danelaw and art to the British people, who would later go out and work as the ants building the modern world on the backbone of a Viking heritage.

>Small

Is this guy serious?

My first Civ games was the original on SNES.

>not a real song if there are not multiple layers
Fucking shit opinion.

Still a cool vid though.

because console players don't buy shit like civ.

and no, you can't play civ on a controller. Even on the steam controller it's pretty tedious.

People tried to pass Journey as a legitimate GOTY.

Germany
357,168 km2 (63rd) 137,847 sq mi
France
551,695 km2 (50th) 213,010 sq mi

Pakistan
881,913 km2 (36th) 340,509 sq mi
Nigeria
923,768 km2 (32nd) 356,667 sq mi

Pakistan and Nigeria both have more population than anything in Europe too.

ignore bongcucks

Pakistan is almost as big as Germany and France together.

Germans do go crazy if you put hitler or nazis in a game tho.

Wasteland 2 was a disaster on console.

...

Pakistan is still outside first 30 of biggest countries in the world.
Rings you a fucking bell?

>archery and horse riding didn't exist in the west before mongols
user...

My phone has 6 gigs of ram too

>Still missing the point
Look, when you call country "big" and other "small" and them pick up medium sized states that aren't either big or small, you are either retarded or didn't think this through

Tall nations historically attempted to go wide, that's just how it works. If you're tall then you become wide and usually vice versa. I can think of wide, "flat" countries but that's mainly because they occupied land that nobody wanted (Russia) or were once developed and fell behind (China), and tall but narrow nations are basically nonextant. Genoa and Venice and other trade republics count, in a way I suppose.

How can you be so autistic that you fail to get his point regarding countries and size?

Wow if it triggers always that can be abused incredibly easily

it's pretty easy to trigger, you basically get half of tech for free.
Main problem I see people not being able to keep up with getting Eureka for every tech out there. but that's on regular game speed, I think on Marathon or something it's piss easy to get all of them.

The whole tech tree is supposed to be balanced around Eureka boosts.

You're not supposed to stay technologically relevant by researching all the techs manually

that depends. is there a chance it will be different from civ 2, 3, 4, and 5?

>viscous clipping

she looks like she's from wallace and grommit

Did you even play Civ V? The terrain features are 2D cutouts.

Exactly. Pure spec wise your phone can run a lot of games. But

1 nobody pays for games on mobile
2 small screen and no controller
3 battery drain and heat dissipation

too bad its a complete shithole

>CIV III UI

>The PS4 has 6Gb of RAM.

It also has a pathetically weak CPU that Civ would chug on especially on huge maps.

it has 8 gigs of unified gddr5 system memory its not exactly comparable to RAM per se because its using it for graphics and everything.

Every civilization after 3 sucked, I'm sure this one will too.

>Every civilization after 3 sucked
No, that was your mom.

ok grampa

Careful with that edge kid.

No, some average-tier animation doesn't stop these models from looking fucking hideous

Because the kind of control for 4x games with a controller would be tedious
It could work, but it would be tedious as hell and most console players wont bother with strategy games at all

The games focus will be less on strategic placement and more on tile by tile placement

In civ 5 it was something like
>Next to river
>Next to mountain
>Building on a hill
>3 unique lux
>Doubles for at least 2
>A 3 food source tile
>And a mix of hills and grassland
Were the best conditions for a capitol, the placement was very strategic in that it would allow some really strong buildings to be built.

In civ 6 it's pretty much like this
>Build a city but not on that river tile because that has a decent faith modifier for your religious district
>Build a city but not on that hill because it's midway between your other city and hills have defensive modifiers
>Build a city but don't build near the ocean because the dock district nulls that decision
>Build a city but not on that tile because that tile should be reserved for a wonder
>Build a city but not on that tile because it's bext to a mountain and that's where your cultural district should go

So instead of picking a site where you'd like to build a strong city, you're now checking off the list places you can't settle and to resign yourself to the next best option.

The strategy is no longer looking at the situation and going "that's a really good settle", it's now "that's not a good settle because a district/wonder would be better there", it extends the game and bloats larger maps and scenarios further which is insane.

That being said I will probably still buy this game.

Qt

This has higher CPU usage. Youre fucked.

How is the multiplayer? Wasn't it suppose to be a thing this time?

>Civ 5 was about picking the best tile to found your city on by judging the surrounding tiles.

>Civ 6 will be about picking the best tile to found your city on by judging the surrounding tiles.

What is your point exactly?

>before, it was obviously better
>disregard the new game isn't even out yet, I have a strong opinion about it already
>repeat the same process when Civ 7 is announced

Civ 5 did not restrict you this hard, if you want to be efficient or meta in civ 6 you have to sit down and consider all districts and wonders you have planned, admittedly this sounds good on paper since it's a little more in depth, I'm coming at it with a purely time based complaint that effects multiplayer games.

Just look at civ 5 multiplayer, there was a mod made to shorten the games so you could play more than a 4 man in a single sitting. Civ 6 devs have said time and time again that they want civ 6 to have a balanced and working multiplayer, so that's my point.

>Mongols were not in the base game for Civ 5
>So why would they be for Civ 6
Go home Batbayar, you're drunk.

that feel of disappointment

>Americans get mad that Ted looked like he had tumors for cheeks
>They fix it
>England mad that Elizabeth looked like she had a potato head and a leafywashere chin
>Radio silence

>Elizabeth was beautiful

that's queen victoria

This, GOTY is for normieware and normieware ONLY, the only things that stand a chance are pick-up-and-play casual games with good graphics

Which is laughable, as Victoria was always an ugly, fat cunt.

Yeah
Cause their contributions all had that intent and weren't refined by smarter, better peoples then the Great Nordic Murderhobo

>British
>Smart
>Barely average in PISA tests

>Viking
>ded

Victoria is cute! CUTE!

Their religion is very interesting and rings somewhat true and taps into the inner violence of human nature.
The gods demanded certain sacrifices in certain ways and each day people had to be sacrificed or else the sun would never rise.
They believed so hard in that they did horrible and fucked up shit to their own people and slaves because of that belief.
The god sacrifices I remember are also messed up such as the sacrifice of Tezcatlipoca who demanded a sacrifice would be happy, well fed and given everything they wanted for an entire year before they would take that person to the temple and tear out their heard with a large shard of obsidian and hold the heart up to the sun while it was still beating.
The water god Tlaloc demanded children be sacrificed so that water would rain and the water would be pure so the people of the land would gather children and march them on a long rain all the while telling them how they would die and how it would hurt a lot, the children would cry and cry and their tears would soak the ground all the way blessing the land before being taken to an area where they would be lashed to stakes and burned alive all the while screaming and crying, all of these things meant to please the god who wanted the hear their screams and nourish their tears.

I still think Civ V was a fucking complete mess compared to Civ IV. Unfun as fuck.

I've no faith left for Civ VI

The mods for Civ 4 were better too.
>Fall from Heaven 2
>Next War
>Regular Civ + Sumerian God powers

>>Fall from Heaven 2
almost
It was another level of 666 gorillions units on the same tile.

Well yeah, but Sheaim had the best stacks.
Exploding ones.

I just want Sanitation back in Civ VI.

Also religions. Holy fuck Civ V religions were retarded. Oh and corporations

Corporations were a broken mechanic.

No has no chance next year, thanks to Divinity.

Corporations mechanic was literally the same as the Religion mechanic but in modern age.

And they both were a tad too op, I agree. All that mad dosh I made.

With that logic Brits are dead too though.

>listening to civ music
>not having your own music playing in the background with civ windowed

>peace
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
youre absolutely disgusting
there is only one victory

So make your own GOTY? 2015 was Ar Nosurge for me.

Who gives a shit about the industry rewards show fags and don't even get me started on the average gamer.

>when people dont play over aggressively
>when people dont even raze a single city

>we are a peaceful country
>dead turn 27

Game that requires you to scroll a huge map doesn't work well with controller. Just look at mountblade on console. The overworld interface is tedious as hell.

I wish I could play Civ on my PS4. But not a streamlined version like Civ Revolution, the same game released on PC. Just let me buy a keyboard and a mouse and let me play Civ. I regret that my current laptop is so shit it can't play anything.

One thing I really hate about Civ is that after enough time all the factions cities and units all look the same.

I can't have some kind of heavy infantry all in black like this, and that's just fucking wrong.

>Build The Manhattan Project.
>Get the only nuke in the game
>Always bomb Japan.

Fun times.

It's mind boggling that you wrote this while acknowledging the difference between models and animation. Models are horrendous; animation is alright. If you wanted the overal visual representation of the game to be better, you'd need to polish those models.

A game that has 30% of the gameplay of any random total war title.

GOTY

lul

and 30% of the dlc
lul

>I honestly can't see how is it even possible to be played with a controller.

They said MMOs couldn't be played with a controller either but FFXIV is great with a controller when you get the hang of it and learnt the shortcuts.

I do however plug a keyboard in for chat because typing with a controller is painfully slow.

>it's an user never played Civ V enough to notice how awful endgame got episode
I hate the art style, but that doesn't mean BE and V weren't a clusterfuck to look at late game.

If FFXIV is the best exemple, then, it prove his point.

>Godus: iOS Editon
>goty
hilarious.

China because Qin Shi Haung is my husbando

The Queen of Smug of course.

>Victoria Queen of England
>In any year period

What the flying fuck were they actually thinking? I know they have a hard on this time for as many female leaders as possible but she's the Queen of fucking UK.

They should have gone with Henry the Fucking 8th and been done with it

Anyone on Endless Space 2?

>Firaxis
>ever picking a King who is most famous for lopping the heads of his wives

Firaxis is too far down the sjw rabbit hole to do that. still, no based Edward III or Pitt the Younger is disappointing

>implying the British Empire isn't just the English Empire with a different name

I want to play as Gilgamesh just because he looks cool but his playstyle seems kinda boring desu.
Norway seems like more my thing but we will see

>maintaining a quota of female leaders
>"too far down the sjw rabbit hole"
This doesn't make any sense.

Maybe they just aren't including Henry the 8th because he didn't do anything worthwhile

Other then decapitating 7 wives

> still doesnt have total war battles
> not even master of magic battles which came out in 95 or some shit

what is the literally point

all those would increase game's length to ludicrous degrees, just play Endless Legends, battles there are such a useless drag and waste of time

>Razing cities
>Not having 35 puppets
Lmao

I'd play a lot more Civ4 if it didn't have random crashes on modern computers.

now religions are even more retarded, faith buildings need a holy site, also missionaries, inquisitors and the 3rd one are a lot cheaper, so will get bombarded with them.

in civ v a religion was great if only to preserve the pantheon, now all the pantheon yields are fucking irrelevant.

this never happened.

>mongols inspired blitzkrieg
Oh, wow! What does this even mean?

The people complaining are vidya babies who have little experience with varying vidya art styles let alone experience with the franchise. The art style looked fine to anyone whose primary gaming experience wasn't just Civ V and COD.

Was Arabia the last revealed civ or will there be more?

Russia's next unless possibly Poland is part of the base game.

Saladin and the Arabs.
Nice abilities, free prophet for religion so you never have to even research the things to get a prophet.
Also I liked the historical figure and used to play him in civ4.

I fucking love and hate the new nukes. They made them WAY stronger to make MAD a total possibility and now you have to build nuke silos so you can totally have cold war style nuke plans. Destroy their nukes before they destroy yours.

But then they fucked up by making radiation temporary. Just fucking why? That shit should last until its cleaned up not go away after 10 ducking turns. You just removed the only negative to war mongering civs. Now they will just stroll in and take the nuked cities and the radiation will go away on its own. The radiation served to fucking punish civs that used them by significantly devaluing the shit they nuked.

It's not a very high bar to clear but will Civ VI on release be better than Civ V?

>But then they fucked up by making radiation temporary. Just fucking why? That shit should last until its cleaned up not go away after 10 ducking turns.

huh? you still need to remove it

So far? Looks like it. From what I can see from the streams it's definitely not perfect, but builds on BNW well and looks fun.

I find your opinion nonsensical (why would the art style look fine to all but CiV and CoD players?), but I think they should have went back to the CIV visual style and simply upgrade it.

The current style is just childish.

Nope the radiation lasts for ten turns with the tier 1 nuke and 20 with the tier 2. After 10 or 20 turns the radiation automatically goes away.

Feature-wise, it's just about a new expansion of V, with the only significant missing gameplay feature being the UN.

It's a new engine that seems, at least from all the gameplay videos, to run pretty smoothly on at least recommended specs (though I'm sure there's plenty of legacy code, too).

18+1 launch DLC (possibly +1? numerous articles mentioned 20 civs) is fewer than the total civs in IV and V, but it's the vanilla game and with just the Aztecs that's already more launch civs than any game since II (which had 21, though they were much more cosmetic than games after).

Every Civ has had a pretty cartoony look.

Is this gonna be babby's first civ game? Have fun!

it looks good for a Firaxis vanilla game

takes one to know one, eh kiddo? you craving a solid fucking of your boypussy?

I'm holding off buying it because the AI is undoubtely complete shit, like, game breakingly so.

Lots.

I'm deeply concerned that it looks way too similar to ES1. Not gonna fall for the EA meme just yet.

I'm just hoping it breaks the Firaxis trend of needing at least 1 large expansion for the game to be what it should have just been at launch

>People complain that CIV 6 change too much
>The same will complain that ES2 doesn't change enough

I just want babylon lead by Hammurabi

It has nothing to offer, so shit you can only make threads about pseudo controversial leader choice, as the rest of the game is forgettable garbage.

Civ 6 didn't change too much though.
ES1 was garbage, so yeah, I want it to change as much as possible.

best civ to date, period

AI is going to suck and the UI is going to be unoptimized until the first DLC.

>the UI is going to be unoptimized

What? Did they change anything with the UI from Civ V vanilla to BNW? I don't remember at this point.

From the let's plays I've seen it would seem that you can't just click on cities to manage them.

There is probably going to be a lot of little things like that which are especially frustrating to returning players who will be miffed that it isn't exactly like Civ V in regards to the UI.

I hope it's not like 5 where the best music is all ancient era and the later era music is all terrible and generic.

Also that video really doesn't need commentary.

nigger what

youtube.com/watch?v=5XlVyXA8zNo

Haydee is

Because everybody said it in every sentence for like 5 months. It was worse than baneposting.

Pre-order bump.

CiV was fun but it suffered from the terrible decision to mix international trade with population capping, luxuries. BE made a good move by keeping them separate like C:IV did and Civ 6 carries that on.

for you

baka desu senpai

>implying a strategy game of any sorts could run on an machine with 5400rpm SATA II HDD and an laptop AMD cpu

kek

I can hit recommended specs with the latest i3 so if he has a decent i5 he'll probably be fine
