It's dead jimbo

VR starts when Sony releases PSVR

it was dead on arrival

Five nights at Freddy's VR
Boom, every LetsShitter will have VR

Too expensive to be mainstream.
No system seller must have games.

Too early basically. Rather sad because it is the next big leap, just they jumped the ball on it.

its not getting as much media exposure as it was months ago. was it all just hype?

VR will succeed. Valve, Facebook, Sony, and Samsung have enough money to wait out the initial period of low adoption.

People who say it has failed are Tortanic memers. They just want it to fail for their entertainment.

It died in the womb, comrade.

It will be stillborn and used for stem-cell research of what technologies NOT to attempt to develop.

So in the end, its' failure will benefit mankind to some degree.

VR is here but only for early adopters who may be laying the seeds for modest future growth.

is it because people just don't want to pay for it?

No.

VR is still in its early stages, it doesn't have any interesting games yet and its very expensive.

In short time, all of this will change greatly.

It's not dying
Current headsets are just too expensive
Next gen will be out in 1-2 years and hopefully cheaper

early adopter cuck spotted

It was never alive.

Nobody cared about VR just like nobody cared about 3D.

It was something the industry tried to force on people by making them believe it was the future.

The real question is what's next.

I told everyone from the start that it was pointless, gimmicky shit and no one believed me.

That said, I wouldn't mind one of those phone VR sets so I can sit in bed and watch YouTube without needing to hold my phone.

vr wont even see any meaningful market penetration until headsets drop to $199 which is at least 3 generations away.

funnily enough that's like the only game that would work really well on VR

ZERO PERCENT GROWTH

At least I play a part in making sure VR gets an amazing future.

Once you get future VR and enjoy it immensely, you'll remember me. Be grateful that fucks like me supported the potential in its most difficult time, and gave it the future it deserves.

HMDs need to be made cheaper, lighter, and way smaller than the Vive. My biggest turn off is the front heavy weight making my neck go sore an hour in.

"The Future of VR and PC Games"
It's time.

>PSVR isn't even out yet
>calling it dead

stop spamming these shitty threads

Don't worry based Sony will save it

VR was in its early stages YEARS ago and is still in the game spot, the problem remains the equipment being expensive as fuck, and the experience being janky as hell due to bugginess or sheer hardware requirements.

>VR is being integrated with phones
Already dead, dont kid yourself.

They are still figuring out what works and what doesn't as far as game design in VR is concerned.

Standing in a small area dealing with waves of enemies is boring as fuck after a while.

Teleporting in most titles feels out of place, button bound movement is awkward as fuck.

If you have a reasonably large space moving about in your space then pressing a button to pause the game momentarily so you can rotate could work for slower paced titles and would feel far less awkward or immersion breaking than teleporting.

>VR was in its early stages YEARS ago
No.

At least, not really.

>Sent from my 10 year old pc with a 1336*768 screen.

Look at fancy pants here and his high-res monitor, back in my day I had a 3D shutter glasses kit which let me play Star Trek Elite Force in threeee deeee.

Shit was cash besides the fact the aiming reticule was off center

...

Hello, babies.

I went to a computer science club meeting at my university and they brought in a Vive. It was the fucking coolest shit EVER. I really want one of my own. Can I use it while sitting down, or do I have to be sitting down in the "play area" or whatever?

Also, is it worth it? Will I play on it a decent bit or navigate my computer using it?

They're pushing it out when it's not ready.

you're simply incorrect, and the fact you're just talking bs is obvious. go try a vive before you try to contribute to this discussion.

They're really pushing roomscale but there's seated games as well, especially since a lot of stuff made exclusively for oculus can be played with revive. It's cool but not really worth it since vr pretty much seems to be dead in the water.

Nice leddit paste.

If next gen consoles ship to include a vr headset with the purchase along with other standard accessories like controls, then it will have half of what it needs to be successful. But who am I kidding, next gen consoles will probably include less standard accessories with purchase and force controllers to be bought separately.

VR died when it turned out that faggot who was behind Oculus Rift lied about how it would only costing $200. I'm pretty sure the cheapest one is sill like $600.

also there's no games

also it's making people physically ill because strapping two little monitors right beside your eyeballs turns out to really fucks with your senses

>Can I use it while sitting down, or do I have to be sitting down in the "play area" or whatever?
The play area is where you use the device. So if you want to play VR games sitting down, you'll need your PC near your play area. This shouldn't be a problem, because unless you're routing an hdmi cable through your walls, most if not all vive owners have their setup in the same room as their desk.

>Also, is it worth it?
It is expensive. If you make 50% more than your state's minimum wage, you could probably justify the purchase.

>Will I play on it a decent bit or navigate my computer using it?
Depending on your OS, you will probably mostly use it to play games. There are tools to use it for desktop virtualization, but they're all windows 8+.

You'll find that playing games while sitting down in VR is only good for games that make sense for that action, like driving. There's a few multiplayer games out right now, but not a whole lot on the single-player narrative-driven side of gaming, which is what I would like to see more, but I'm still having hours of fun playing online battle arenas like Onward.

You'll probably want to try it with porn too.

Our future's dead anyways, if anything it's really a sign of what's to come.

I tried VR at Tokyo Game Show. It was cool as shit. One group I was a fantasy warrior fighting dragons, then in another one I was in an anime school and when I looked down my body was a thin anime body not a fat fuck.

Too expensive, no flahship game.

>also it's making people physically ill
ymmv

regardes, not a cuck

VR has no games

actual answer, its moving away from gaming. its actually focusing on recording video now, because effectively a camera that records in ALL directions means you cant really fuck up filming something, you just go back to it and choose what direction you want to show as the main screen ( or all of it ).

whats REALLY dying is videogaming that takes effort. no one wants to actually sit down and focus on something that takes 100% of your attention and stops you from even picking up your drink when you could be playing mobile games on your mobile phone.

vr isnt dying, its jumping off a sinking ship we call videogames and into the lifeboat called photography

it's not great for just using as a monitor. the resolution is just a bit too small for good text. this is one of the greatest shames of the first gen, and one of the best things to look forward to in gen 2. a windows-like GUI where each 'window' is a virtual monitor floating around you.

I love how 99% of people that say VR is dead haven't tried at all. Personally I like it a lot and I tried the Vive and PSVR but I can say for sure I'm not buying until gen 2 since I'm sure htc will come up with a new model in a year tops.
I mean Cred Forums thinks anything higher than 1080p is useless so there you go.

Facebook normalfags killed it.

>vr isnt dying, its jumping off a sinking ship we call videogames and into the lifeboat called photography
I dont get it

Too expensive, and no one really knows just how to actually use it.
Outside of gimmicky games that mobile tier crap, VR doesn't really have much in the industry.
What do you mean, not really? VR gaming has been a thing since the 80s, with VR arcade cabinets being played by the public.

Until you guys try vr porn you have literally no say.

For the past couple weeks I've been dumping magnum cum loads over vr waifus. 3dcm2 and honey select are excellent in VR. You can move your waifu around with your controllers, you can have them give you lap dances, the nine yards.

Also there are already multiple Japanese companies producing 180* vr 3d porn, and it is some of the most stimulating content I earth.

You guys have literally no idea until your dick is diamonds over a Jav or waifu girl shaking her tiddies inches from your face.

>tfw too inept to install honey select or 3dcm2
I have a vive and I'm stuck with 3d porn vids and fapping in poolnation vr.

help

I got mine yesterday, I don't even know where to fuck to go in order to find the waifus and how to get them working.

Everything I have tried so far has been kinda shit apart from the Valve created stuff like Secret Shop which is really just a wander about and look at stuff demo.

>vr is in its early stages

and the virtual boy must be some anemic bacteria particles that pre dates time itself.

I only have phone vr abilities right now which limits me to mostly crap 3dpd videos. At least 3dpd videos are all I can find to put on my phone.

he's talking shit. he's heard of light field capture and misunderstood how that relates to VR.

well, you use the vr effectively to watch it. unless your gonna lol hold a laptop and wave that shit around

It's not really dying. It'll likely going into stasis for awhile for gaming. Meanwhile it'll become useful in a bunch of other industries.

VR is always five years away. At least that's a better position than AI, which is always fifteen to twenty years away.

>vr will be the medium of choice for film and photography. therefore, vr is dead for games!
you've misunderstood

>VR is always five years away.
Fuck that, VR is here. I can virtually see my waifu in my Apāto

Vive and Rift are expensive with high system requirements. All the hype died when Rift turned out to be expensive.
PSVR isn't out, might do okay. Here's hoping.
Gear VR is doing well, other than the "need a specific recent Samsung phone" requirement.
Cardboard was a stopgap (it's kind of neat, used my S3 decently for it, tracking sucked with any phone, framerate was shit because lol S3, but it worked, it's a proof of concept).
It's a shame there isn't a not-Gear VR solution for phones that doesn't suck.
and all other VR solutions might as well not exist

I need me some VR JAVs.
last time I checked (a few months ago on /t/), there wasn't much

Our guy.

For a certain definition of "virtually see," that's been true for an awfully long time. This whole situation reminds me more of what happens with funding proposals in science, which is that you say a bunch of work will get done, then when the time comes to write the milestone reports, you contort whatever happened to match whatever you said would happen. Or put another way, if this is VR, then Siri and that story about beer and diapers are proof that AI is here.

No, it has really arrived. We've codified what was previously a wordless concept for what 'real vr' should be; 'presence'. And we've achieved it.

We still haven't ever reached any consensus on what 'real AI' should encompass. We've had a lot of competing concepts, but there are fundamental psychological and philosophical questions tied up in it all that may just not have any satisfactory answers. AIs already do pretty much run the world, but we just call them 'algorithms'.

I'm using a fucking google cardboard to use honey select VR. No excuse

Yeah... our guy...

It is fairly straightforward, find an install guide with google and follow the procedure. Check custom maid 3D general in for install guides, they don't seem to have a thread up at the moment but ill post their latest text wall in a reply.

Before installing anything you need to either change your system app locale to Japanese or download locale emulator and run every exe file using it.

All you have to do is run the exe files in the right order, then install whatever DLC content you want.

There is a VR beta patch on their site you have to download it and make sure your game is patched to the latest version, then download and run Hong fire for the English patch at the end.

The very last part to getting it to work with VR is a little fiddly, but straightforward I'll post instruction for it.

It works without crashing with reipatcher only for me, but if you want to run mods with sybaris which most people use it will be tough. I found a workaround but couldn't get it fully working, crashes at certain parts of the game but loads all my mods successfully.

kisskiss.tv/cm3d2/update.php

Everyone not retarded knew that the first batch of VR shit will go nowhere. But it will eventually pick up in the years to come when newer VR setups come out and Developers actually make real games using VR.

>enough money to wait out the low adoption

you know those companies only have so much money because they pursue successful ventures and let unsuccessful ones perish, right?

>Vive install procedure

1) delete and copy a new "Assembly-CSharp.dll" from backup in "CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed" and "CM3D2x64_Data\Managed"

2) Reinstall HF patch

3) Copy 5 files from "CM3D2x64_Data\Managed" into "CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed", they are as follows:
{CM3D2.ExternalSaveData.Managed.dll, CM3D2.MaidVoicePitch.Managed.dll, CM3D2.Translation.dll, ExIni.dll, UnityInjector.dll}

4) Copy "CM3D2x64_NTLEA_VR.ini" into the ReiPatcher folder.

5) create shortcut in root directory (whatever/CM3D2) and go to properties and copy the following to shortcut target, {"H:\vive demoes\CM3D2\CM3D2\ReiPatcher\ReiPatcher.exe" -c CM3D2x64_NTLEA_VR}

6) execute shortcut and enjoy

>Vive install procedure with sybaris optional, I advise against this workaround

Make sure you are running in Japanese appLocale. Control Panel>>Clock,Language, and Region >> change Location >> Administrative tab >> Change system Locale (japanese)

>install game with sybaris as per OP instructions

>go to CM3D2/ReiPatcher
>make a copy of "CM3D2x64_sybaris.ini" call it "CM3D2x64_sybaris_VR.ini"
>open "CM3D2x64_sybaris.ini" with text editor
>change "AssembliesDir=%cm3d%\Sybaris\Plugins\Managed" to "AssembliesDir=%cm3d%\CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed"
>change "Executable=CM3D2x64.exe" to "Executable=CM3D2VRx64.exe"

>make a copy of sybaris_setup.bat, call it sybaris_VRsetup.bat
>open sybaris_VRsetup.bat with text editor
>change "set bitver=%cm3d%\CM3D2x64_Data\Managed\" to "set bitver=%cm3d%\CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed\"
>change "ReiPatcher.exe -c CM3D2x64_sybaris" to "ReiPatcher.exe -c CM3D2x64_sybaris_VR"

>Make sure your HMD is on and tracking at this point, if you have HTC Vive make sure steamVR is up and running in ready state with HMD turned on and tracking

>Run sybaris_VRsetup.bat.
>Done, now you should be able to start the game in VR mode by running CM3D2VRx64.exe.

Haven't fully tested yet but at least it boots the game in the HMD now following that procedure without crashing at startup.

VRsetup.bat did complain about 'CM3D2.Translation.dll' Missing. Should be an easy fix, the missing dll would have to be copied from "CM3D2\Sybaris\Plugins\Managed" into "CM3D2\CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed" before running sybaris_VRsetup.bat.

Massive wall of text, should have taken it to /hgg/, enjoy

>those hairy nipples
God damn, full bear mode people are less disgusting than that.

>I haven't actually tried one of the new devices

>Sony
>enough money

Play something fun, or get deving.

Deving for the Vive is fun-tastic, then you can actually make not cash out shit fest 10 minute long "experiences."

Also, remember to Super-sample if your gpu can support it.

Hey, it's the daily VR is dead thread for the gathering of the poor who have never tried it past shitty phone VR at best.
These are always good threads filled with informed kids who have a lot of VR experience they draw from to form knowledgeable posts.

Oh wait, no they don't . Just a bunch of poor have not's who gather to say , yeah it is crap to make themselves feel better.

Awesome

Yeah there are two new Jav vr websites besides afesta now, but no torrents that I've seen. I heard some high profile Jav star was in one too. All in due time!

Just go to /r/adultvrgames, there are full guides to setting up cm 3d2 and honey select, including the vr mods.

The Afesta ones are horizontal which is fucked and they are still low quality. I hope they fix it soon as asian girls are best.
