Be stuck in a puzzle in vidya

>be stuck in a puzzle in vidya
>finally give up after 45 years
>go to YouTube to see walkthrough
>find out it was that simple
>mfw

This ever happen to you, user? What game?

That's usually me in point'n'click adventures. I just give up after an hour or two, because clearly I'm not gonna figure it out

Tried to figure out the very first room in Hector Episode 1 and failed. Turns out I missed a clue when the character said something.

>Be stuck in a puzzle for 20 years
>Not even walkthroughs can help me
>Wife's son beats it on his first try
>Tell him what a good and a big boy he is
>I continue with my game while my wife is getting a friendly fuck from his good buddy Tyrone (they are just friends, so it's okay)

I just have moments were get stuck on something only to beat it easily after a break

Ninja Gaiden airship level, that long gap where you had to jump on a cable or something to get across. I thought it was just part of the stage and didn't even consider it as something you could interactive with.

Didn't look it up though, just found out by chance after a solid three hours of combing through the areas I could access.

Bump

The water demon from ff4, had to ofight him again, fuck me.

The Room.
The very last puzzle was somewhat physics-based and did not work properly at the framerate i was playing (144 fps).
I only realized after looking the solution up on youtube.

Yeah.

>go to YouTube to see walkthrough
Are written walkthroughs dead?

>if this is 4
>then what is this?
fuck whoever came up with this shit

>Tales of Symphonia
>Palmacosta Human Ranch
>Stuck there for more than 30 play hours
>The solution was to enter a room, exit then enter it again
>had to buy the strategic guide because at the time I didn't have internet
I spente so much time grinding there that I ended being overleveled for the rest of the game.

>11 years old
>playing Twilight Princess for the first time
>get to the sacred grove/master sword puzzle
>the one where you have to make the guardians move onto the certain blocks
>my puny child brain can't fucking figure it out
>takes about 4 hours in 8 half hour sittings to figure it out, and even then I only manage to do it by accident
>fast forward 10 years
>now 21, playing TP HD remake
>get to that part again
>figure it out in like 30 seconds
>mfw

>11 years old
>figure out the mechanics behind a part in a game, stomp it
>fast forward 10 years
>get stuck like a dumbass in the same part of the same game

>shy guys toy box from PM
>That puzzle where you have to hit the coloured boxes in a specific order
>Be dyslexic
>Can't figure it out despite going to the prof
>Buy guide book a month later

I'm still mad at myself

The Neverhood mouse puzzle. I made a chart of which hole takes you where. It took me hours. You know how you're supposed to beat it?

His nose points the correct direction.

i have adhd for puzzles. i go instantly to online to see the solution. happened in skyrim where the puzzles are super simple ecxept that one under water cave. still was like fug when i saw how easy the solution is..

There was a similar puzzle in prince of persia sands of time. You have to go through the door where you can hear water running. I just solved it by trial and error and sheer stubbornness.

no. they mostly now have wikisites for games to read shit if not utuban

>cant solve puzzle because I am thinking too complex

Fuck man.

The RE4 tile puzzle as Ashley. All you have to do is move the pieces on the outside clockwise (or counterclockwise I don't remember). I was stuck in it for half an hour.

>be stuck in a puzzle
>give up
>play the game later on
>critical component of the puzzle didn't load the first time around

Goddamn Prince of Persia

>stuck on part
>give up after a few attempts
>go back to it years later
>discover that failing it enough times makes it easier

I straight up gave up on Antichamber shortly after you get the cube gun thing.

There's a puzzle in Ni No Kuni where you're in a room and there are 8 frog tiles in a big square on the floor and at each top corner there are two frog statues. There's a hint about saying one frog has to follow the other or something so I went through every conceivable permutation of rotating these stupid frog statues on these floor tiles multiple times. I finally gave up and looked up what you had to do and you literally just had to switch the two statues from their original positions and not move them in any pattern through the tiles that it seemed to suggest.

>NOLF
>That room completely filled with fast moving lasers
>Spend like thirty minutes trying to get through it
>When I finally gave up and googled, I was literally standing on the hatch

so since everyone here seems to have gotten stuck in the OG prince of persia, let me explain how I got stuck

there was a segment where you encountered two walls, designed as pictured. Wall B was elevated above wall A, implying that you'd need to run along the first wall next to A, transfer to the B wall then continue your run to the B platform.

I spent HOURS trying to figure this out, and I eventually just sold the game. My curiosity eventually got the best of me and I re-bought it later. I think it turned out that there was a door I missed leading the correct direction, and both of these platforms were just for decoration

The Sonic 3 barrel, still ashamed.

That was me going through talos principle.
Then when I settled down and started working at the pace it wanted it kicked it up a notch and fucked me

>The witcher 3
>playing as ciri
>have to climb tower to rescue the baron
>end up using teleport and jumps to get about half way up the tower before I couldn't go any further
>google it
>you're supposed to climb the rocks off to the side of the tower which will trigger a cutscene

>Zak McKracken (1988)
>Mars pyramid maze
>No flashlight batteries
>Running out of oxygen
>click on random doors in the dark
>actually beat it
>mfw

One of the dungeons to learn a new spell in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the Gamecube.

Except I played it again years later and figured out what my dumb kid ass couldnt

Was it that part in mcgonagall's class where you had to traverse the platforms while ghosts attacked you?

...

>it's always just the first amount of fingers regardless of what he does the second time

That was some real bullshit
