Reaver was the epitome of a good-bad guy. Didn't give a shit about anyone, but didn't want the world to end either.
All I remember is Reaver and that there were fun voice actors.
Also
>Your health is low.
>Do you have any potions or food?
NO, I DON'T CHASE CHIKKINZ
There is literallly, LITERALLY
LITERALLY
no game more comfy than Fable 1. Oakvale is God tier.
The fact that i dont know that guys name proves he is not memorable character
Agreed.
I found him obnoxious and annoying. Probably because it's Stephen Fry's voice. Him being tied to the worst games dont help.
I still remember Fable 1 random NPCs
>Forgetting comfy oblivion.

I'm drawing a blank on a lot of Fable 3 but I know I finished it.
Oblivion wasnt memorable in a good way.
No one is arguing about music, which Oblivion did very well and Skyrim did pretty badly.
>memorable characters
Who wouldn't remember characters Lionhead spent half their budget hiring?
Fable 1 had lots of memorable places though.
...
>Arena that put oblivion arena to shame
>Oakfield was really nice.
>Knothold glad was really nice
>Darkwood actually felt like a creepy scary wood
>Chapel of Skorm
>Lady Grey's old house near barrow fields
>Demon doors and their demon door music.
What I remember
>Waifu npc you met 2 minutes ago or peasantry you just met, you care about neither
>Some train gets blown up
>Desert area
>Working with some black chick
>Shitty dnd game
>Fort minigame shooting undead
>Civil war
>Magic is shit
>Weapon is rng, will probably look shit
>Outfits all shit
>Jonathan Ross voice acting a redshirt minion
>Some Welsh gypsy camp
>Your brother wasnt evil, just didnt tell anyone why he did things
>You cant explain either
>Shitty time skip before the war
>Everyone dies, or lives and hates you unless you grinded shitty jobs and property management for money
>Walter died but no one cares
>You still own a dog
Now I remember Fable 3, the more I remember, the more I remember why it was forgotten.
Guild was the best place.
It had one of the best magic systems too, nice variety and some useful stuff.
I'm still mad Fable 2 never came out on PC.
It wasn't as good as 1, but it was still a very enjoyable game.
I wanted to marry the black chick (Whisper, I think), but the game wouldn't allow me. I was forced to pick lady Gray instead.
>implying
I have played the story to all 3
I remember almost nothing
>the menus
>those fucking menus
>shitty menus
>hold A to use anything in menu
>walk around your menu
>"players can really INTERACT with their menu"
>"now players can have loading screens INSIDE their menus"
All I remember from Fable 3
based peter
I only ever played it on friends XBOX 360's as pc fag myself.
I've gotta say while guns were unrealistic they were super fun to fire.
>darting and dodging around enemies
>Firing your op blunderbuss and watching 10 bandits go flying.
Also check out how highly detailed fable 2 bandits were.
strangelet.deviantart.com
It's shame such highly detailed models never ended up in an FPS were there true beauty could be appreciated.
Fable 1 and 2 are legit wonderful games. 2 is such an underrated game.
3 legit shit though, even Pete admitted as much.
I wish they would bring Fable back. I unironically love 1 and 2.
3 a shit though.
We need more comfy English folktale games desu.
Why was 3 so British?
Could Fable really be rezzed at this point? I think that The Witcher and Elder Scrolls' success are proof that the style can work, but Fable is a name that doesn't really inspire enthusiasm in many and might be a hard sell.
I think that the appeal is there, simpler The Witcher-style gameplay with TES-style freedom, but the idea of marketing any game really does sound hellish to me.
>but Fable is a name that doesn't really inspire enthusiasm in many and might be a hard sell.
That's the fault of Peter, notthe games themselves. If someone elsewas put in charge who customers could believe wasn't lying to them every step of the way I think it could get a lot of preorders.
They're so desperate, they're making a Fable card game. A card game, user. It's dead.
Let fable die.
Re-use the ideas etc in another IP as a spiritual successor.
Stuff they should keep
>Crowds of villager NPC's swarming around you to give you adulation when you are renowned enough. It's not mentioned enough but no other RPG does this.
>Demon door style stuff
>That unique fantasy look
>Good evil system that changes your characters aesthetic look.
>Stupid british accents.
>Recycle Hobbes in some way.
>House and business buying mechanics.
> Dragon Age 2 is this game about becoming a folk hero
> Nobody actually acts like you're a folk hero
Nameless civilians cheering on you wouldn't fix the problems with DA2, but it would be a fucking start.
Zombie Lady Gray was hotter than she had any right to be.
>Let fable die.
No
>yfw it glitches the fuck out whenever you go back and your character clips through the fucking floor
One step forward, two steps back.
I'm surprised to say it, but for all its bullshit and broken promises, Fables 1 and 2 at least nailed the atmosphere of folksy english fairy tale land. More games need to do this instead of trying to be Grimdark "We want the GoT audience" Fantasy or just aping Warcraft's garbage design aesthetic...or both.
These days it's either Dark Souls Grit or over-designed, christmas-tree wielding pauldronlords.
Yes, the franchise is despised at this point and the consensus is only fable 1 and 2 are worth playing and adoring.
>Fable journey is considered a joke
>Fable 3 is thought of as a boring game.
>Fable Legends only happened because Microsoft were drunk.
Fable ip can die but, in a spiritual successor it's good mechanics and themes can live on.
Fable one is still one of my favorite rpgs. Comfy atmosphere, fun, good designs. It's a shame they couldn't follow up with that except with all the nixed promises
>Comfy atmosphere, fun, good designs
There is no reason they can't bring this back in a spiritual successor.
If you want another game that fits the "comfy" niche then you should try Nier.
Please don't bring up DA2.
That makes me think about David Gaider
No, go fuck yourself. I want Fable.
I haven't even heard of Journey or Legends. Are they phone games or something?
I wanted to fuck her at least. Literally she was the players roommate from adolescence to adulthood, fucking definitively would've happened.
en.wikipedia.org
>MOBA type game but with a twist
>Basically 4 people as heroe's vs 1 play as villain
>Villain sets up monsters and traps to stop hero's from reaching his lair.
>Players have to to work together to get past villain's monster placements.
>Microsoft poured millions into this then realized they spent too much money on it and said fuck it and canned Lionhead.
Fable: The Journey
>On rails shooter set in the fable universe
>USE MAGIC INSTEAD OF BULLETS
>I can't actually make this up.
What happens now that Lionhead is kill?
>the time is... very late.
fable 2 was so fucking enjoyable. Buying towns and flexin at bitches.
9/10 thread would nastalgia again
Memorable to you
I remember nothing but dissapointment
tfw comfy nights in albion are gone forever
>THE TIME IS...very late
too late
Fable 2 is a better and more fun game than Fable: TLC
Fucking fight me
I liked Logan
