so I opened the chest that you need to "pass the statue and then do a cross" or whatever. The guy says he needs that stuff to make wands but he looks shady, using the pirate/thief character model

should I say yes or no or does it even matter

>you will never play ooky mouth with a cute girl

So I talked to pike and now I have to get in touch with the rich guy, where we're his houses again? I remember coming across them but for the life of me I can't remember where.

Does klepto clobber ever actually work? I don't think I've actually stolen something once in like 20 hours of gameplay.

Also what was the good sleep ability? My ruff has fucking 4 of them now

his primary home is across the lake from L'arca. his other home is in Grondal.

You can't say no. Also how do I get through the dark room in the sullied sanctum? I keep falling. I assumed you go in the direction the statue turn s and faces but nothing.

Near l'arca

>You can't say no.

Okay, figured I'd make sure before actually responding

Jesus fuck I have six pages of skills for offensive abilities

>Sailor increases the strength of water attacks
>it's Pirate that gets Jolly Rager and Coral Grief

In the original no skills were class-locked, so it made more sense. Though not much, because why would you go back to a basic class?

So now I can send my tablets to other players without a disguise. Anyone know specifically when this is available?

Use theif/pirate in combination with it. Klepto doesn't increase the chances THAT much.

Increase chances? Isn't it a steal? Or is it meant to increase the drop rate of items?

>do you want me to make a wand for you

>no
>well fuck off

>yes
>well too bad I'm busy nya

You have to go the way the tail points, and only after you turn it. If you don't turn it and try to go the way it would point, you'll fall.

It is a steal yes.

Sorry I meant more of the long run sense.

You can't have killed the monster in the hit if you want the chance.

You also have the same drop rate as normal even in this scenario.

So if an item has a 1:256, that hit only rolls for 1:256 without any bonus's.

bought this shit after all the hype behind it and it ended up being the same fucking repetitive dragon quest garbage, fuck you all, I cant believe I fell for this shit again.

>will you help us? its up to you
>no
>cmon please? will you help us? its up to you

Just got my copy in the mail, I have a question for those with experience with the PS1 version. Does the streamlined intro help or hurt the game? I'm fine with the long quest and 3 hour intro if it means a good buildup to the story.

Do you prefer puzzles or a fetch quest?

>Did you buy her game?
No, but I'm enjoying it. Just got jobs and grinded out three basic jobs for all three party members.

The PS1 version had the puzzles, right?

yeah.

Just a fair warning though, the hints are much more obtuse and harder to access when it comes to shard collecting (the device used to progress the story).

I would like a hot kid like her to spit in my mouth.

about to get the carpet
already showed that girl the thing from
now shes standing in front of the church and is searching for the entrance to the basement
what am i supposed to do in the basemant there is nothing to do just the guy with the fake carpet is standing there

Try paying a bit more attention to the dialogue next time.

Why not? Are you a poorfag or just a greedy cunt?

a greedy fag

why does Zing have to exist

to make me cry when it fails to work 5 times in a row when I don't have Kazing?

I hear cumulus vex is a pain in the ass. Is this party good enough to beat him:
Hero Champion rank 7 lv27
Ruff monster masher mastered lv25
Mervyn gladiator rank 5 Lv 25
Aishe paladin rank 4 lv22

No, he's a pushover. You'll wipe the floor with him. People who have trouble with anything in this game after jobs have really fucked up, at least based on where I'm up to, and I've unlocked the final dungeon.

If only you're main damage class wouldn't be regulated to multi healing the entire fight you would have had a good shot. You may still if you get that champ to rank 8 and just use 4 turns of blade.

Okay so I'm pretty sure I'm close to the end of the game. I've got the stone ship now, also got the fragment from the gnostic guy... But now I have no idea what to do. Not to mention the fact that the ship is still frozen bothers the fuck out of me.

I want to see Malibell in bunny suit .

What do you guys think of Builders?

I never played a DQ game before and I know this one is a bit unorthodox than the usual games but I really like the demo and the concept.

Go put the fragments on the pedestal. You do have them all, right? You do know where the pedestal is, right? You've been talking to NPCs and paying attention to the dialogue. right?

If you like the demo you'll like the whole game.

Reminder that if you ever stopped to grind jobs the game will be easy peasy. You are not expected to have high tier jobs until disc 2 when you resurrect god

>the first thing the envoy does is cast Kasnooze

I don't know where the other pedestal is. I I guess I missed some things. :(

what's with the cuck in this thread going "lelelel you musta pay attention and talk2 da NPcs XDD" to everyone? Sorry to tell you this you fucking basement-dwelling, live-at-home loser, but not everyone has time to go around talking to NPCs and reading hours of boring dialogue.

If you go back to Pilchard Bay things should become obvious from there.

Am I supposed to put the sacred stone back?

>don't have time to read dialog for npcs
>in a game without voice acting

Why are you playing this game in the first place? If for the story, you do realize there is hardly any overarching story without talking to them right?

>Full party of Jesters
A path to druid isn't easy

You didn't make me into a monster, did you user?

Fuck off gay virgin cuck. I didn't give you permission to reply to me.

There's a few items you can get like Watermaul Wand and the Sea Serpent Sword that cast water spells. But you probably shouldn't still be a Sailor by the time you get those.

That's nice friend. I'm glad you are enjoying your experience.

I can't really because you are wearing your nightie. You look retarded holding your fists together like that with no visible weapon though.

God bless the sands of time.

>finished both bonus dungeons
>everyone has their best equipment
>mastered Platinum King Jewel vocation
>made everyone a Pirate
>saved on the Sea Dragon
I'm done with this game. It was fun

I think builders will be good if there's enough hidden stuff. The look sets off my 3D dot heroes boner. I wish there was a bit more to the combat, a block or a dodge or something, though. Are there going to be caves or dungeons in the full thing?

When the fuck does Meribel come back?

near the very end of the game.

How long did it take you? I'm 79 hours in and I just reached the Sea Dragon for the first time. I feel like this game goes on forever. Not in a bad way, mind you.

As I'm about to go into the dig site, am I near the end of the game? It's hard to tell with this crazy ass game, it's long as fuck.

She'll come back soon after you beat the boss in there.

After you beat that you have about an hour of exposition and then you can.

>Oomph and Knuckle Sandwhich for 250 damage

Oh fuck yes I am destroying.

What's everyone's character classes so far and what are you going for?

>Hero - Paladin
>Marribel - Sage
>Ruff - Up to Sage, currently doing dancer in prep for Druid

I fucking love this game and everything about it, I'm so glad I never played it and waited for the remake.

malevolanturn, goodybag, chimera, lips

Grinding out them monster jobs. trying to get everyone plat kings before putting the game down till monsters/8

90 hours, but the last ten were spent mostly grinding, at the Casino and to obtain the Platinum King Heart

>the vendor on the Sea Dragon just sells Metal King Swords like it ain't nothing

Is this the best weapon in the game for the people who can equip it or is there better stuff? Just seems weird to have it so easily available if it is the best.

there is at least one better, and depending on how you look at it, losing a few attack points to hit all enemies with the flail at the monster casino may be the better option.

There is better stuff. Buy the Silver Shield instead

I'm being told a fragment is somewhere called the pool of piety, where us this again?

the pool of piety is the coral cave.

From the present you enter through the flower in the pond. To get to the past you have to zoom to the divine shrine and look at the tablet in the north house.

>I offer you the gift of my friendship, isn't that so nice of me?
>no

the shit you can respond to in this game

There is some bits of extra dialog even for some that appear to lock you into a yes loop. You can make the high preistess cry.

Nah, I pirated the Japanese version.

It's your own fault that you didn't do some basic research first.

>I don't have time to play video games.

Maybe you shouldn't play them then, or just stick to the more modern style games that hold your hand and drag you through the game.

>the conjuratorium in the present shows me how to get across the moat to the staircase

well shit I'm going to have to go back to the past and do this shit there too don't I

Yes, and I'm kinda burning out at the alltrades abbey quest where you get all your shit taken from you

I took 80 with no grinding but a lot of fucking around in the Casino

I hope the almighty and spirit fights are tough , Im so power right now that I stomped the final boss without much effort

around level 40 with Hero, Champion, Druid , Monster Masher ( with about 8 mastered monster classes) and all with the best gear from the Sea Dragon

wonder if there will be any DLC for this or new tablets to download soon

Im at the final boss with 80 , i spent at least 10 hours grinding though

>tfw you realize you have spent literally 3 days of your life on an rpg

spirit fights are a fucking joke compared to the almighty.

There's no DLC for the Japanese version that I'm aware of, so I doubt it.

but thats the first good part

>Played 20+ JRPGs in the last 20 months
>Played most of them in Japanese too, so depending on the game it took me either slightly longer than usual or quite a bit longer

I don't even know how much of my life has gone to JRPGs.

Greetings DQ fans!
I've been doing some research with Square Enix Support in an effort to get Dragon Quest X localized. I've had some pretty good success so far. Square Enix communicated to me that if they see enough support tickets requesting Dragon Quest X, they will consider the localization. They have been very helpful and even offered to put me in contact with their developers, so this campaign has some realistic weight to it.
What I will need you to do is go to the Square Enix support page for any Dragon Quest game (for example, here's the one for Dragon Quest IX https:**t.co*7wtaGp04gN )( Replace * with / ) and create a support ticket.
Here are the steps: 1. For Contact category choose Products & Services and for Contact Sub-Category choose Product Specifications. 2. Enter a subject line under contact details, and keep it to under 40 characters. For example: "DQX". 3. Hit Next. On the next page, hit Next again. Now choose Proceed to Email Support. 4. Enter in your contact information. Enter your email address twice. If you plan on creating multiple support tickets, please use a different email address per support ticket. 5. In 4000 characters or less, write a polite message to support asking for Dragon Quest X's localization. Once you submit your ticket draft you can preview it or edit it. Once you are satisfied, click Submit.
Please keep the message focused on Dragon Quest X for this campaign. If this experiment works then we can try focusing on other DQ games in the future. We can really do this! Thank you for your support.

>been everywhere past and present
>Still 20 minimedals short for the fragment

fuuuuuck I have to retrace literally everywhere now

Why is there no way to see which mini medals you have

>people in Nottagen talk like teenage girl

Worst. Place. Everrrrr.

Wait until you get to Vogograd , most rage inducing town , everyone there is a complete cunt , only one I legit wish I could let the demon king wipe out

instead he chose faraday

DQ localizations are such a pain, I have to keep looking things up to find out what anyone's talking about since 99% of names are always changed.

Yeah, is this tablet piece required? Because if so that is complete bullshit. :(

Where do I recruit a new monster for my haven after the metal slime princess? They said a priest near a desert spirit so I went to the statue, but there's only one priest there and he's not the guy

It's required for the post game.

After a certain part of the story, but did you check outside of it, like walk around the thing?

is the new dragon quest any good?

Thinking of buying it

he actually shows up later.

There's one before him so you just have to get to the next town

Oh, I just finished Providence. Yeah, went around and on top.

7 is good for fans of dragon quest.
Builders may be good for people who enjoy the entire of minecraft but wished it was more structured.

how about actually searching the towns? none of them are extremely well hidden or anything
It's a bonus dungeon

I bought this and am playing through it when I have time, maybe I forgot what jrpgs are like but holy duck I can't travel 15 feet in a dungeon without getting into a fight with retarded mooks who don't even challenge me

Still p fun though, I might replay the other dq ds game I have, 9/10 series

...

Dude I had 97 mini medals by the time you beat the game. That fragment is only required for the post game.

Also Attributes -> Everyone you dingus

Then what about the tablets that expired since september 30th?

There was indeed story related dlcs for the jap release and it was in the form of tablets like this one.

However, the story dlcs do not go away.

Going to every single town past and present to break every barrel, pot, chest , check every dresser

Thats another 5 hours minimum

>You spend literally days of your life shitting
>You spend a large percentage of your life doing the same repetitive tasks; working, sleeping, showering, etc.

Life is best taken one step at a time.

Oh so they will return?

>days

More like a day at most. You don't really have to shit if you are in the bathroom longer than five minutes.

They cycled in the jap release. There's about 50 of them. So we divide that by 3 and that means they will be back at around 4 months from now.

some people sit on the toilet for like 15 minutes to take a shit, I dont get how it takes people more than 10 seconds tho , most have awful diets to be that constipated all the time

If you shit once per day in your entire life, the shit takes 2 minutes and you live to 70, you will spend just over 40 days shitting.

I had a cousin who would take nearly an hour every time he hit the john. Nigga you poop in there, not play with your prick and contemplate life.

I bought two copies of the game. Then felt bad since the game completely sold out.

But it seems like stores and Amazon are finally getting a second printing. Hope this game sells a lot more than IV-VI.

Are you to agree to help kill the monster priest at vogrograd?

Where do I get Mermaid Moon

>poops once per day

who the fuck does this ?

I only poop every 3-4 days

Yeah, you have to agree to kill him

You should probably get that looked at and possibly adjust your diet because that's not healthy at all.

Shitting once or twice a day is considered normal and healthy.

>implying there are real choices in the game

This thread sure has taken a nice turn.

Man, I used to shit 3-4 times a day. Now it's usually once or twice a day. I don't know how people can do it only every few days.

You need more fiber bruh
You should be shitting at least once every other day

There actually are. You're not going to be able to break the story, but choices you make change the cutscenes and NPC interaction. For example, in the very beginning, you can choose not to give Pike the sizzling stone back. And he hits you over the head and mugs it off of you.

And of course, an entire kingdom considers my character to be a liar because I lied about being the envoy.

>Kiefer's cute little sister has a lisp now

Oh, it's a lisp? I thought she was like 5 years old.

I was wondering why a 5 year old girl was taller than a 16 year old man.

>Every enemy name is a shitty pun

>The fucking accents

most of the accents are ok but one town was so bad I could not even read anyone's dialogue

The frenchy towns with the magic carpet

And zee dialouge zis all spelled with zee fucking zs on zevery zother word hon hon hon

Why is this game so incredibly easy? Is there some kind of hard mode to unlock? 60 hours in and I have never wiped and only one person in my party might have died at any point. Not to mention I have like a dozen spare Ygg leaves and Ygg dews for whenever the game is supposed to get hard. I swear past dragon quest games were not this easy

dont use jobs

if you want it to be a challenge play with no vocations , or at least only use basic jobs

once you get to advanced tier you are a god

let me guess, you grinded classes

The bad French dialogue and the toughs are just so annoying, I end up skipping through the dialogue.

And the sad thing is, this game has far more towned down dialogue than DQIV and V.

...

Not really

At least they're not throwing memes in it.

Thank god for small favors.

>Why is this game so incredibly easy?
Because the PS1 version was too hard. So they rebalanced EXP and made leveling classes easier. That or, like me, you have played so many DQ games you know what all the best skills are and don't run into problems in any DQ game anymore. This game is slightly harder since it doesn't let you have kabuff and insulate without grinding some monster hearts. But if you get those, its a cakewalk like any other DQ game.

I actually like the accents. What I don't like is the ones that do the shit where they say things in a foreign language and then just repeat it in English.

So when is Minecraft for weebs coming for PC?

>!Es Muy Bueno! That's very good!
So you translate this crap, but then don't translate 'Ze 'orrid French spek ya'. Just fucking stop with the dialects period. We're not going to quit buying the games because the dialects are straight English. In fact, it'll be closer to the original Japanese than the crappy dialects are.

Where do i find the king of Buccinham when i play as Mervyn?

Because one is literally a foreign language and the other is just a thick dialect. It's easy to read everything the people in La Bravoure say just as fast as regular English (i.e. instantaneously), at least for me, and my native language isn't even English.

I'm on the last tablet (it's blue) and I'm only missing one piece. I have no idea where that piece is. Can anyone help?

>not fully revisiting islands in the present after you save them in the past
He's in the dwarf kingdom now faggot

>It's easy to read everything the people in La Bravoure say just as fast as regular English (i.e. instantaneously)
Either you're a savant when it comes to language or you've played the games so much you're memorizing patterns to the dialect. Or you are missing words, but not noticing.

But the average player is not able to read all these dialects at the same speed they would proper English. When you combine how half the fans dislike the dialects and another large portion of people actually have trouble reading them, its a bad idea to keep using them. Using a more traditional translation isn't going to make people skip buying a game, as games like Pokemon has proven. But overuse of dialects and frustrating players sure can hinder sales in the long run.

>vogograd
where am I supposed to go? I'm pretty sure I've talked to everyone and the priest's door is still locked

What version of each game do you like best?

I have played DQIV twice, so I'm probably used to the structure of the psuedo-French dialect.

I remember that post. I still think that either most people can't read well or I'm somehow better at reading than most DQ fans. I don't even read books a whole lot, but I generally don't have problems with text that's been morphed to represent a different dialect. Oh sure, sometimes I'll see a weird word and go "What?", but it's very rare. Not that I'm defending the accents in DQ, they seem to have been poorly handled for the most part, but I haven't had an issue reading them. I even played through the first chapter of the English version of IV (only played it in Japanese previously) not too long ago and I think people really exaggerate how bad it is. Or they really can't read, which would make me fear for the future if I hadn't already lost all hope in humanity.

The only ones I've played.

>I-III

And of course DS for IX, but that's the only system it's on.

La Bravoure was the worst by far

Im glad you didnt have to be there too long, I just skipped all the text boxes in that town

I'm having a hard time getting into DQ7. I'm 11 hours in and just got to the island with the girl that doesn't want to marry the mayor's son. I've had the game since it was released and just play very infrequently it hasn't dragged me in and made me not want to put it down.

The game feels like an episodic TV show with no overarching plot with and every island being another story that I don't really give a shit about. Does the formula ever change? I need a fucking reason for going to these islands that hasn't been explained yet in 11 hours.

As that post pointed out, all of the dialects are readable. The issue is, if you have to slow down to read something, it takes more work than it should. And that means it takes attention away from the game itself. Translations should be trying to make things easier to read. Not harder.

By your own statement, there are a few times even you questioned what a word meant. Which means the translation did cross the line. Its good that you can read most of it. But the fact that you had trouble at any point means the translators failed. Since you wouldn't have had that problem with regular English text.

Regardless of how easy or hard the dialects are for you personally, or if you like them or not, they still altered the original story Yuji Horii wrote to make the accents work. A perfect example of this is making Alena and everyone in her Kingdom into faux Russians. When the Japanese game has no dialect and no connection to Russia at all. That's just plain bad and shouldn't be tolerated. Its a form of alteration of the original work. Like if someone redubbed Star Wars and gave Han Solo a Tennessee accent. Would that be acceptable just because you liked the end result?

You learn small tidbits of the overall plot over time. And the formula does change after you uncover all islands. But for the most part, it is about going to a location, solving their problems and repeat. All DQ games are like this to be honest. DQVII just makes it a lot more apparent.

No

I found it to be a good break from the typical JRPG though and the episodic anthology format pretty interesting , if you want a typical story go play literally any other JRPG in existence

>The issue is, if you have to slow down to read something,

I can see where you're going with this, but that's kind of a bad argument. By that logic I could call something with a bunch of arcane medical terminology bad because I have to slow down and look everything up to understand it.

>Since you wouldn't have had that problem with regular English text.

I have to stop and look things up or think about things even in plain English sometimes. Just because I'm a native speaker doesn't mean I know every word grammar rule out there.

>they still altered the original story Yuji Horii wrote to make the accents work

Oh come on. I know people who can't read Japanese say some ridiculous things (it's amazing how many people who can't read Nip I've seen shit on great localizations because one one small thing. Not that DQ localizations are what I'd call good), but that's really bad. A different accent isn't always bad. If you were to give a bunch of Chinese people Russian accents then yes, that'd be bad, but giving characters with no accent in particular an accent isn't story changing. It's not something I'm prone to doing, I don't think I'd ever change an entire kingdom's way of speaking unless the creator/company told me to, but it doesn't change the story at all. By that logic, even a simple, straight translation would still be bad because they're not supposed to be speaking English, they speak Japanese in the original version.

> Its a form of alteration of the original work.

That much I agree with, I don't alter things unless I have to to make something sound more natural in my own translations or unless my client tells me to, but that's just it, S-E seems to want these changes. I don't agree with them, but it's their fault.

Same

I don't buy physical 3DS games and don't see any reason to buy digital when I can get the same thing for free.

Just say you're greedy instead of making excuses and embarrassing yourself. Pirates who can't just own up to what they are are so pathetic.

>2
>not NEVER

Let me correct that: "I NEVER EVER want to play it because it looks like even more of what I didn't like about 9."

6 and 9 are the only ones I've never bothered to reach the end of. For all the "bajillion hours long" jokes made about it, 7 is far more entertaining than either of them.

You need to talk to more people in the furry village first , trigger an event with a chained up kid in the back shed

Mobile 2 is actually bearable. Rough, but bearable.

Whats wrong with 2? Never played 1-3

Will I be able to appreciate DQ Builders if I haven't played DQI?

I just finished the herb town's convent in the present. Is there anything special to do there or am I done? Honestly a huge breath of fresh air compared to the overdrawn robot segment if that's it.

youtube.com/watch?v=3T7gCDkk6Ew

Yeah.

Fuck you chen

Yeah theres no battles or anything much in the herb town, just check everything for the mini medals

>By that logic I could call something with a bunch of arcane medical terminology bad because I have to slow down and look everything up to understand it.

But the general public isn't expected to know medical termanoligy. Especially not to enjoy a game like Dragon Quest. And if they did use a medical term, it would be the writers duty to explain to the audience what it means and why they are using it in the story. None of that is comparable to dialects in a DQ game, which NEED to be understood.

>Oh come on. I know people who can't read Japanese say some ridiculous things
I can read Japanese.

>A different accent isn't always bad. If you were to give a bunch of Chinese people Russian accents then yes, that'd be bad, but giving characters with no accent in particular an accent isn't story changing.
Holy shit, yes it is. Its tying a character to a culture. And Alena has NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA!

>By that logic, even a simple, straight translation would still be bad because they're not supposed to be speaking English, they speak Japanese in the original version.
This would be a valid point. Except the original work was in Japanese and, with very rare exceptions, the references in DQ games aren't rooted in Japanese. The few allusions to Shinto demons or Japanese culture should be translated in the western release. And its perfectly acceptable to change those into a context the western audience can understand. But what's not acceptable is changing something that doesn't need to be changed, which is what all these superfluous dialects are doing.

Does Alena talk with a Russian dialect in the Japanese game? No, she doesn't. Then she shouldn't in the western versions either. Doing so is a massive alteration of her character.

>Its a form of alteration of the original work.
>That much I agree with
Then what are we arguing about?

>"I NEVER EVER want to play it because it looks like even more of what I didn't like about 9."

But Dragon Quest X fixes all the problem DQIX had. You should probably have the opposite view. DQX is closer to a game like Dragon Quest VIII in NPC interaction and exploration than DQIX.

please help

But the problem with IX for me is that the lack of characters to party chat with makes it much less interesting. Talking to NPCs goes from being rewarding to just feeling boring like most other JRPGs. DQX doesn't fix that.

Is Dragon Quest VII worth picking up? i've never played any DQ game but since this one is getting a western release wich is really rare and the fact that its a very well known franchise got me interested. Any thoughts? good? bad?

>wich is really rare
all of the main games have been localized, except 10 I think, and the early ones because >90s JRPG getting a localization
7 is good, not the best game to start off with since it's so long. If you're fine with playing 80+ hour JRPGs then go ahead.

Well i dumped 600 or more hours in Monster Hunter 4 and currently reaching 400 on MHGen so a long game gets me really pumped up, just as long as they manage to not get repetitive for too long.

Is the gameplay good? story? how are customizations?

This is my first DQ game in like 15 years and only one I played before was a bad gameboy port

If you like any of the pre 7 Final Fantasy games or Chrono Trigger you will like it pretty typical JRPG

How are the 4 , 5 , 6 , and 9 ports on the DS? I finished 7 and am looking for more

which should I try next ?

9 was made for the DS, fampai. It's not a port.

Usually that would be a problem. But DQX actually has a lot more interactive NPCs than DQIX does. Japanese players report that it has one of the best stories in the series and the NPCs drive that narrative.

As for the playable characters, I admit that I prefer set characters like in DQII, IV, V and VIII. But DQX being an MMO, you have a lot better player interaction than DQIX. So you can play the game with three of your friends and feel like the characters have a real personality.

Fair enough, my main problem was that it didn't feel much like an adventure.

>And Alena has NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA!

She has nothing to do with Japanese or any English speaking country either. The overarching story is the same. She is a tomboy princess who wants to explore the world, likes punching things, met up with a bunch of other folks, and helped the, defeat the asshole trying to fuck up the world even further. I think the only reason people have a problem with it is that character dialects become their identity in DQ games, and they should never do that. It's okay to be a part of the character, but accents and dialects should never BE the character.

>Does Alena talk with a Russian dialect in the Japanese game? No, she doesn't. Then she shouldn't in the western versions either

So, should the Russians in MGS3 not have a Russian accent in the English localization, just because they didn't in the Japanese?

>Then what are we arguing about?
I can disagree with a way something is localized but still think that it's not a heinous crime, you can't. That's why we're arguing, but I'll stop if you're cool with it, I'm more interested in Persona 5 at the moment anyway.

Can a Old3DS run the new dragon quest?

why wouldn't it?

Yeah. DQ VII and VIII ran just fine on mine.

some games run like shit on O3DS, like 3ds Hyrule warriors

well is it any good desu

Yeah
Runs better if you have a CFW'd N3DS though

In my absolutely objectively correct opinion,
5 > 4 > 9 = 6
But they're all at least good

is there a monster than teaches Monster Masher's Animal Magnetism ability or am i gonna need that job full time to get a complete monster collection?

Monster Masher only, but animal magnetism only works like 1 out of 10 times so dont even bother

>Bad Gameboy port
You best not be talking shit about 1 on GBC.

>Use animal magnetism 5 times on a beast
>kill that beast last
>HE LOOKS AT YOU EXPECTANTLY

errytime.

>bad gameboy port
I'll fight you

> I think the only reason people have a problem with it is that character dialects become their identity in DQ games, and they should never do that. It's okay to be a part of the character, but accents and dialects should never BE the character.
Well that's the point I'm trying to make. The dialect does become the identifying aspect of the character and not their personality. And a large part of their personality is altered because of the dialect (especially with Alena since DQIV removed party chat).

>So, should the Russians in MGS3 not have a Russian accent in the English localization, just because they didn't in the Japanese?
That's kind of a cherry picked example. But one can argue it both ways. It should really be up to the original writers and producers (which in this case, Kojima is obviously both). He might have wanted the Russians to be more authentic and asked for the western dubs to strive for that. And that's totally acceptable. That's doing what the original author intended.

The way DQ is different in this case is, I've never heard Yuji Horii ever express that he wanted Alena to be tied to Russia. Or Ludman to be Italian. Or Florette to be French. All of those changes were done by Richard Honeywood and the localization staff.

seriously, what the fuck do I do
I've rested at the inn, I've gone to the mountain path, I've talked to everybody multiple times, I've gone to every house, and fucking nothing has happened

Just started this game a while ago. I did 2 of the islands. Is the pacing gonna be this terrible for all of the game? Who thought it would be fun for the player to go back to the same island he just finished and run through the same dungeon again for a tablet piece?

I like it otherwise so far.

Dragon Warrior 1&2 on eshop never ever

Did you sleep?

you only tend to revisit dungeons earlygame.

trust me, it won't be like that the entire game

as for why they thought earlygame had to be dragged out like that, I dunno

About your MGS3 example, Kojimbo straight up wanted everyone to actually speak Russian in MGS3 (except in codec calls possibly) but only Snake's japanese VA was on board with the idea.

They usually don't make you run into the same dungeon again, at least 30 hours in.

game's translation was horseshit's compared to the original ol' timey medieval dialects. Gameboy got rid of the text flavor for a simple character conversion translation, which was your standard JRPG translation for the 90s.

I'd throw money at all VC ports of DQ if it ever happened.
Also that NES MINI thing has Dragon Quest on the Japanese version, which we didn't get.

What was your least favorite island and why? Mine was Buccanham, fuck that place hard

Don't know about Horii, I'm sure he has no part in the localization process, but I know S-E has said before that DQ has to have accents, and they told Plus Alpha to just go crazy with the DQ VIII localization because they wanted a fresh start.

I would buy those and DW3 in a heartbeat. I get to beat them again and I get to finally buy those games. I've only emulated them so far.

They do it a few times, pepper it throughout the game. Thankfully it doesn't happen too often but it is a bit annoying.

>Sa'id crits an enemy
>700 damage

Holy shit. I thought this guy would be a weakling and I'd have to do the heavy lifting.

I... think I might have heard about that? If I did I'd forgotten, so it's interesting anyway.

WHERE THE FUCK IS THE FRAGMENT IN GRONDAL IT'S FUCKING ANNOYING ME

Nottagen
>tfw it took me two visits to realize why it was called Nottagen
Rocky got fucking robbed though, where's his memorial.

Vogograd. The visit there in the present.

All the guest party members have absolutely absurd crit damage.

When do I unlock classes? Im about 13 hours in.

Where's the prism dew, game doesn't give you a clear idea where to find it.

Lol, just take the blue door then mash A along the beach until it happens. thanks for solving that mystery.

;_;7

At least 3 hours were cut out of the early game, it took like 4 hours to reach the first battle originally

Dude, what? Buccanham's story was fucking great.

Mine was probably Faraday.

Volgograd
Fuck that island and everyone on it holy shit, just kill all of them except for the kids.

Give it a few more hours give or take, should be fairly soon if you're progressingly smoothly.

>he casually mentions Rocky explodes every so often
>Rocky doesn't come back this time

I was more referring to earlygame as "time before alltrades"

I'm well aware of the extra 2 hours of running around in the intro of the PS1 version.

Why are you playing JRPGs in the first place if you aren't a basement dweller with a shitload of free time on your hands?

Info > Next tablet fragment

I loved it because of the name. It's one of the few puns that actually made me laugh out loud. One of the others if from DQ9. You have the master of Alltrades whose name is Jack, and he became the Master of Nu'un.
Jack of Alltrades.
Master of Nu'un.
I just wasn't expecting it.

Richard Honeywood was actually the one who insisted on dialects in DQVIII. Because he was "bored of doing straight translations." Nevermind the fact that he already did his dialect thing on Chrono Cross about 5 years earlier. But DQVIII was tolerable.

After DQVIII was a success, suddenly you saw most SquareEnix games after that getting some kind of dialect treatment. FFXII and XIV obviously did it. So did Nier. And Noriyoshi Fujimoto has said multiple times that he personally won't release a DQ game without the dialects. So you're right. Even though Richard Honeywood left SquareEnix and now works for Blizzard, the higher ups at SquareEnix of Japan are the ones pushing the dialects now.

Holy fuck champion is op. And I am gonna end up with 3 of them.

I misread anons post, thought he said favourite area. I liked it too, got quite a chuckle.

Reminder that Blade of Ultimate Power does FULL DAMAGE on metal enemies.
>my fucking face when doing 550 damage on a Metal King Slime

considering the fact dragon quest takes a ton of european cues in its art and setting, it makes sense to me you find a french town, a german town, a gypsy town, etc.

and since the original NES translations has old english, it makes sense to bring it back as dialects now.

>bored of doing straight translations

If I ever get to that point I'll just stop translating. I mean, I can see trying to make them not boring, but I'm not about to just rewrite things just because.

3 Champions
Take 2 turns to use oomph then focus strength
then use knuckle sandwich

>3000 damage each at level 40

You can literally kill the final boss in 3 turns doing this shit

In my experience most people just can't read well. I can tear through a 600 page book in about a day or three, where as everyone else I know will pretty much never read anything. No books, no games that require intensive reading, nothing.

>you translate japanese into english for a living
>you have characters who speak different dialects of japanese
>you literally translate them into english as best you can
>no flavortext allowed, you get standard english throughout the video game

shit wouldn't be fun to read after 100 hours.

>Have maribel as druid + omniheal to ensure their survival.
Game is broke.

But they're not from Europe. By your logic, everyone in the upcoming FFXV should be speaking in a faux Dutch or French accent because the 'buildings and kingdoms take inspiration from Europe'. And all the older FF games should have had a heavy olde English dialect. But of course, FF fans would throw a fit if that happened.

This is the slippery slope of alteration in media. 'Well, they changed that little thing so its justified. Well they removed my favorite character in the game, but its okay because he probably wouldn't have been popular with the British audience. Well, they won't translate the game at all because its too much work, but that's okay, I trust the company.'

I do do it for a living, though not as much as game translators. And I included flavored text in "make them not boring". I just meant I'd never rewrite characters or invent totally new dialogue when it's not called for or rename everything and everyone just because (I have changed names before, but I've only done it when I had a really good reason, like keeping the author's intent). You can have fun with your translations while still keeping them accurate. Even still, I need a break now and then.

>druid + omniheal
Considering that getting Omniheal on a Druid requires you to master Plat King Jewel, and how that takes a shit ton of monster class grinding, then I don't think the game is broke. Also the final boss is a joke. Almighty is where the challenge is at.

> By your logic, everyone in the upcoming FFXV should be speaking in a faux Dutch or French accent because the 'buildings and kingdoms take inspiration from Europe'.

my logic is it's implied in dragon quest because dragon quest is a medieval setting, and always has been, final fantasy is a weeb setting now, apparently.

slippery slope of media bullshit, dragon quest actually helps itself with flavor text now. you comparing DQ with FF like they should both be the same.

FF is overall bland these days, they could use more flavor text and less SJW terminology.,

Does Jawtoise give Oomph?

>and less SJW terminology.,

Didn't that only happen in one game? Shouldn't have happened at all, but I haven't heard of it happening outside of Type-0. I haven't played FF since XIII murdered what little interest I still had in the series though.

Yes

Yes, and Kabuff, and Harvest Moon

>its a very well known franchise
Lol, it's not?

so wait, what non monster classes give multiheal?
im gonna take a shot and guess luminary

Sage

And if you want Multiheal forever, get some healslime hearts.

Luminary gets Hustle Dance

Sage, Druid, and Paladin get Multiheal

>that bard at the end of the game who references Bonnie Tyler

Er not Druid, my bad

Where are the Gold Golems at ? I forget

I am going to try and catch some monsters to make a good gold grinding tablets

Gem Slimes, Goody Bags , and Gold Golems ?

Sage, Paladin, Godhand, and Hero

Druid doesn't get multiheal.

if you bought the game at launch you might have access to Gold Mannequins.

Just make an all Gem Slime tablet.

What is the hottest monster, Weighvern is a QT

Why is there no proper day/night cycle?

>my logic is it's implied in dragon quest because dragon quest is a medieval setting
But even that is wrong. DQI-III use a medieval inspired setting. DQIV-VI use more of a Renaissance inspired setting. DQVII and on are almost Victorian in design. And all of these are just 'inspired' by Europe. None of them are actually in Europe.

Do you see the problem with your view? To follow your view, we'd have to claim any game with European inspiration is required to have European dialects. Which would make 90% of JRPGs and WRPGs a dialect ridden mess. And if everyone was doing it, it would lose its uniqueness.

>slippery slope of media bullshit, dragon quest actually helps itself with flavor text now.
But it doesn't, since half the people dislike it.

>FF is overall bland these days, they could use more flavor text and less SJW terminology.,
Final Fantasy needs to improve gameplay and story development. You're not going to fix a bad story by adding a bunch of cheest dialects. They already tried this with FFXII and XIV. And people still noticed how the stories fell apart.

Because Dragon Quest only adds it in when its needed? A day/night cycle would cause problems in games like DQVI and VII, since they already are confusing enough with a dual world mechanic. Imagine trying to trigger the next story event not only in the present or past, but also day or night. Instead of checking an area twice, now you have to check an area four times (eight times in some circumstances).

You also forgot the Joker games are almost modern, using technology and Capsule style gadgets. What's the accent equivalent for this? Japanese?

It's been a while, but from what I remember in Joker 1 and 2 it was pretty much one french dude in the intro of Joker 1 and those NPCs with the bull masks were a bunch of cockney fucks like always.

>Japanese dialect in English
>so yuu rikey da monstah!

Now I want to see SquareEnix actually attempt this. No one could defend that crap.

I would love that. It'd be too funny.

What's a weighvern?

Fatass dragon. They start showing up near endgame.

Is it Keefer or Kaifer

keef

Oh, I just got to Emberdale.

Queefer

Keith-her sooth-er-land

I'm at Buccanham 67 hours in. Am I slow?

>good friend and girlfriend have never played a dragon quest game
>have DQ1 for NES sitting around
>they pop it in one night
>we spend 8 straight hours playing it, trying to get through it without dying
>it's the most fun we've had in a long time

Strangely it was infinitely better playing together than when I played it solo, even though only one person was holding the controller most of the time.

>tfw when you come back after losing Keifer she talks about how she never really liked him all that much and that she only talked to him because it was the only shop in the island

Get fucked Piers.

What fetish is this?

what are some more games with loli anime mouth spitting?

Spit.

How do I get rid of the monster face statue in the Likeness very late in the game?

How do I get the tablet in the modern Buccanham room with the church alter?

Sharkeye should have joined.

> watch an educational video
> suddenly all the actors start spitting on each other - on their faces, on their genitals, in each other's mouths
> get turned right the fuck off an wonder wtf is wrong with people and who would even enjoy this sort of thing

Stand still in front of it.

Ah, thanks. I was just heading further up to get Sa'id to repeat what he'd said because I'd forgotten about the mouth passage.

this, I wish I had no social life desu so I could just sit around and play jRPGs all day

I have zero social life but at least I am not unemployed.

How long did it take you to start getting bored of 7? I just got to Vogograd and I can barely get myself through it. How much longer is there?

Same here, but I did take 3 weeks off to go wild on DQVII and SMTIV:A

Just push through. The next island after vogrograd is the last one.

what's the difference between the Great Leveller and the Greater Leveller?

Is the dude still named Pepe in verdham? the island after you get Gabo

>Great Leveller
Everyone

>Greater Leveller
Just the enemies

What?

Is one monster masher good enough to attempt to tame a platinum king jewel?

where are these platinum king jewels , I am at the citadel of blight and havent seen any the whole game

I don't know either but I just want to know in advance.

man I have to go through an entire fucking vocation to be able to beat cumulus vex just because I don't have multiheal

fuck

Maribel leaving right before Vex fucks you over pretty hard, especially if she is your healer

you should play the casino early to get a healslime heart and have everyone learn multiheal

In DQ VI, who are the best party members

>find some business suit guy in a building's attic

I RIKE RRRRAIGHTENING SHE IS MAI WAIFU
NO DRAGON QUESTU FOR FIRTHY GAIJU PIGGU

>that twist about the old man who saves everyone from Gracos

Man...fuck Kiefer.

Man, after finishing SMT:IV A starting up this game seems like a step down.

Is it actually good? The character designs don't really do it for me.

I had already maxed healslime with her... Ruff has Monster Masher maxed though, so finding one to put in a dungeon so I can get all the hearts I want isn't going to be an issue. Guess I should put it on the MC since he's mostly the support guy in my current party anyway.

and I had gone for so long without grinding....

Anyone besides Nevan.

Hero, Carver, Milly, Terry for the humans. For monsters its Kingsely and Lizzie

>Not liking Toriyama senseis art

Go back to your Superman games then faggit

Nice projection faggot.

The characters don't look remotely as good as in Chrono Trigger.

I don't care about DBZ anymore because I'm not a nigger.

Character designs are kinda samey, because it's Toriyama, but monsters designs are above board.

Can you recruit them?

Characters aside, is the game good?

I hope XI bring monster recruit back

I love that so much

You cannot recruit in VII, but you can acquire the hearts of some monsters, which let you class-change into that Monster.
You can recruit in Dragon Quest V, VI, and the Monsters series, however.

>can you recruit them
kinda, you can obtain hearts of some monster which allows your party members to become that monster and learn some of their skills

>is the game good
its considered a top-tier rpg and is known for being really fucking long game

youll get your moneys worth

>VII
>Top tier

Pick one

So anyone finished VII yet? Is it better than VI?

>inb4 VI
>good

...

I go somewhat overboard cleaning my ass, but to be fair... people who smell like shit are the worst.

Well it sure isn't low tier. No DQ game is.

Its basically DQVI with 4x more content and story.

I forget where all the ultimate key chests are, I got the ones in the Shrine and Estard castle, and the ones in the Haven

any other chests you can only open with it?

also make sure you go talk to Gracos V before you fight final boss, he gives you a good spear you can use or sell for a quarter mil of gold

Hero, Carver, Ashlynn, (4th guy)

4th guy depends on what you want. If you like raw power, Amos is for you. If you like more magic based stuff, Nevan's better. If you're playing really fast, Terry's the best bet as he joins later.

Milly's bad.

>but the chest was empty

Doshiooo

>check pirate site
>DQVII undub
>game has no voice acting

What?

>I love monster recruit
Why don't you play the monsters game then?

The orchestral soundtrack is exclusive to Japan while the west gets a synth version. Undub adds the orchestral music on the English copy.

People are retarded.
Undub in this case means that they've restored the original JP Orchestrated soundtrack.

>all these people at end game with 80 hours in
>I'm 75 hours in and barely at the Knight vs Mage story

I hate myself.

I've played all the Monsters games we have, you fucking faggot

>deciding to keep a unique item or sell it for lots of shekels

I know I will probably never use it but I like to hoard unique items

Can you get the traveler tablet rewards more than once

Don't feel bad, user.
I don't even have the game! Stupid Nintendo and their stupid false shortages.

Why dont you just download it off the eshop then

I live in the boonies. Deep in the boonies.
I literally have 56k dial-up as my only internet option.

Did anyone else get really annoyed that no one other than the desert people ever recognizes you as their Hero.

Why does Magma Blast only work like fucking half the time when it's just as strong as Scorch or Thin Air?

>I'm at 16 hours and at the beginning of "Emberdale"
Left my 3DS on twice, once when I went to get food and forgot and a second time when I rushed to the hospital

I pirated the US version

Why is the final move for hero so fucking shit ?

Kazapple does 600-700 damage but its your only move for the whole team one turn

When I could do 300 damage each in one turn , fuck off

Why is this game so fucking easy? You guys act like those bandits below alltrades were hard. Guess what? I just obliterated them in few turns with a Hero and two Champions. If you think this game is hard, don't ever try to play Etrian Odyssey series, you'll get BTFO.

I wish the Monsters remakes would release to us.

Jesus how much do you grind this has to be bait right you just get classes right before fighting those bandits theres no way anyone would grind this much right?

>Easy game
>Hero
>two champions
>fighting early bosses with end game vocations
Yeah, no shit you fucking idiot.

Thats why you use a champion instead. 4x champions with BoUP is like 2k damage.

Lol

Not who you replied to but I grinded about 10 hours just cause I could and fought the bandits with a hero, a druid and a monster masher. Grinding is fun.

I always keep one of every piece of equipment except accessories. I keep all of those. I once went through a run of DQ8 without selling anything at all.

...

are you korean by any chance

I want it too

I just want to use the Schleiminian tank for once, never did win it in those wifi tourneys

What's the best way to kill Metal King Slimes? Because metal slash is garbage do crit skills like hatchet man work on them?

I like grinding; It all started with the DQ games.
I was afraid of Zoma, so I grinded on Swordroids and Balrogs as a last minute.

Anything that crits. Hatchet Man is what most people use. You can also use weapons that crit like a Poison Needle.

Hatchet man, and the spear one. Axes and Spears seem to be the go to metal killing weapons in DQ.

Blade of Ultimate Power. It does the full 550-600 dmg on metal enemies.

Wow, Bat Man looks pretty good in Pink.

Why buy something when you can obtain it for free?

>Tfw I fought the Bandits before even getting classes
>And won

Debora is the best bitchy DQ girl. Maribel a shit.

Bianca is better though

But Bianca is not bitchy.

Why would anyone want to marry Deborah in the first place? Maybe she gets better if you actually pick her I dunno but the way she's presented to you is just a massive bitch that's just as irrelevant before walking into that town as Nera was. And they don't even do anything to try and get you to like her like with Nera either, she just barges in when you finally have to pick a waifu.

Bianca isn't bitchy.
Do you even know how to read?

What do they do with Nera? All I remember is that she has a few lines and seems like a kind but rather boring person.

>All I remember is that she has a few lines and seems like a kind but rather boring person.
That's what I was talking about, at least with Nera you can say "Well she seems nice" before you have to choose

>Why would anyone want to marry Deborah in the first place?
Because the game guilts you into marrying Bianca which makes me want to pick someone else and Nera is boring as hell.

You won't regret marrying Debora.

Nera also doesn't make sense user

DS remake actually make them meet you during the ship scene but only Bianca has any relevance to you

Well, I guess so, but that barely counts. You basically just get her archetype/personality presented. There are people who aren't into quiet and demure girls like Nera, but would probably be intrigued by a haughty and sexy woman like Debora.

Bianca feels like the most natural choice by far, even without the unnecessary guilt-trip by her dad, but Debora is also a lot of fun and charming in her own way, especially her bit of dialogue in the final boss room. Nera is whatever.

I made you into a Healslime.

I so want to break Maribelle's nose with a nice punch in the face

She'd break yours. Remember that her mother tells that her biceps are too big for a lady. She could probably arm wrestle Popeye.

I beat the game in 64 hours famalayan

>folks complaining about the game being easy
>meanwhile, it's hard for me since I'm too lazy to grind and I fucked up at job choices

I know I would have to grind some more before facing the Bonus Boss. Still not enough mini medals to do so and I'm now playing SMT instead of go searching for them.

You're not supposed to grind anyway.
So long as you don't run from or outright avoid encounters, you should be perfectly fine going through the game.

Heh heh heh... hahahaha!!! Another Dragon Quest dying before it can make it to 500! These threads are finished...

'k

Nice reverse trolling. But I'm not going to fall for it and bump the thr-- Ah damn it.

When and where do get to fight platinum kings?

What is Maribel doing when she uses puff-puff?

Steps on your dick

Halp me Cred Forums. I finally unlocked the Vocations, but I'm stuck. I'm missing one yellow tablet to unlock a new island. Is it on the Alltrades abbey island in the thieves' cave? I tried fighting the 4 thieves but they wrecked my shit hard. I think I need to grinderoo a bit more.

Can we fuck her in the 3ds version?

Use your disabling spells. Dazzle and sleep especially works great for those bandits.

No but you can fuck Jessica.

D'oh, really? I didn't think to try that out because usually status don't work on boss fights. Is it a case-by-case exception in Dragon Quest or are all the boss fights like this?

Where do the Roamers go after you unlock the final dungeon? Are they just gone?

Not all, but most do.

>I didn't think to try that out because usually status don't work on boss fights.
In Dragon Quest games, status effects often do work. You just have to use trial and error to figure out which one does. For example, the boss on the second island can be put to sleep. And he's so susceptible to sleep, he doesn't take up even when you hit him with physical attacks. The same exact thing happens with Captain Crow in Dragon Quest VIII. A pretty late game boss who can be cheesed easily with sleep.

Flashing the enemy.
The skill is Flasher in Japan, and while I know these are shots from DQVI, it's the same thing for VII.

>mfw fight wisely taught me that metal slimes can be slept in dq7
>mfw fight wisely taught me what enemies are weak to underpants dance, dazzle, venom breath, sleep and other statuses id never try because wasting turns against these bosses is a death sentence

fucking fight wisely is a godsend

This. Not to mention reacting to low health in the middle of turns. I've never used follow orders again except for trying some skills.

Is the casino fun? When will I get access to it

You'll need to for some of the actually hard stuff, the AI can be bad at healing

Casino was removed from the international versions.

It's fun IF you win. Just like real casino. The earliest casino is in alltrades island. So perhaps 14-15 hours into the game?

Usually I just change the healer's tactic to focus on healing if it's the case.

What the fuck..

he's trolling you. The casino is in the remake.

So...
What about when ruff or Mervyn use puff-puff?

When males use it the enemy takes damage.

>Captain Crow
He can actually be stunned by Puff Puff too. He can also be stopped by Jessica doing nothing if you put some points into her Sex Appeal.

Puff Puff is just pushing the boobs together like pic.

The enemy is so disgusted when they push their non existent man boobs together that they take physical damage.

I won a Prism Peacock heart. Is that supposed to be rare or something?

...

>get a perfect start to Lucky Panel that ensures me the win
>it's all trash anyway
>see the best helm/armor/whatever in the initial flips
>get fucked by shuffle

wew

Sure, but that's not what the translation indicates

>He can actually be stunned by Puff Puff too. He can also be stopped by Jessica doing nothing if you put some points into her Sex Appeal.

Yeah, I saw that. It was hilarious last time I played DQVIII because he'd get up to 80 tension, then get distracted by Jessica. Happened three times when I fought him.

He's super weak to Sex Appeal's chance to stun on Jessica's normal attacks too
I guess he's got a thing for whips

Holy shit, like, I totally want to punch all the people in Nottagen, this place sucks #dragonquest

That place is, like, the coolest user. Best. Town. Ever.
#dragonquest

>Nottagen
More like not this shitto again am I right

I bet DQ 7 just awhile. Final boss wasn't too bad

>bet

How much did you won

>visit present nottagen
>have to go back in time
>NOT AGAIN

Why are they deciding now the future version is fucked up enough to warrant a second visit? You didn't freak the fuck out upon seeing other towns reduced to ruins/empty fields in the future.

The game.

>mfw i let that shithole burn because, like oh no #nottagen

ANOTHER GOD REJECTED

Yep, I thought it was sooo unfair and how would I EVER beat this boss that did so much damage to my whole party. Put everyone in 2nd-tier classes and leveled up once or twice and it was easy.

What did you win?

X > VI > VII > VIII > V > IV > IX > III > I > II

V > VII >> VI = IV > VIII > IX > III > I > II

post female warrior

Just got Gabo, I feel I'm severely underlevelled at 11. This is so much harder to grind than on the ps1

What luck! A meaty treat!

>Grinding
Don't play like a retard and you'll be fine

what does that mean?

Yeah I grinded out a couple of vocations right after the alltrades abby section because the thieves were kicking my ass. I came back with intermediate classes and ez'd them.

>check the bedside table
>get a pair of bunny ears

Wisdom is basically a tank stat in VII right? Should I give all my Wisdom Seeds to Mervyn?

>mfw playing with the orchestral soundtrack

holy fucking shit koichi sugiyama is a nigger

I think he means don't run from fights and don't actively avoid battles and you shouldn't need to grind.

Oh and explore the overworld and dungeons too.

>they're literally the same

holy fucking shit stop falseflagging

Where is the Pool of Piety?
How do I get the Vogograd fragment?

East of Faraday Castles' island.
It's given to you after you finish the event in the town.

>being this buttmad over not having the orchestral soundtrack

Whats the best class for Ruff?

I keep swapping between this and SMT4

What do I do after speaking to Lev in his house?

He never leaves the party once he joins so he makes a good healer. Give him Priest early on no matter what. After that I had him go through Monster Masher and Pirate. Now I'm making him my Monster Vocation guy working toward Platinum King Jewel

is there any point to kaboom?

Talk to the mayor and then the kids who block the doors.
