That's how it works, yes, but it doesn't make the place "reddit" - instead, this system introduces a whole lot of other problems.
The fact that any random user can claim the board is already fucking terrible because you can't tell if he's gonna be a decent board owner or a crazy power-hungry retard banning everyone for stupid shit.

Second that's basically the biggest problem I have with reddit, so I don't really see the difference aside from how the boards are laid out and the lack of user IDs (which is a plus)

Basically, anyone can make a board for anything so long isn't for shit that is illegal, but I think there have been cases of a board owner being usurped for being a shitter, and of course, if you don't like the faggot running a board, you can make your own better board with blackjack and hookers as well.

I sometimes go to cripple Cred Forums when I'm banned and on static ip and it definitely has enough traffic to feel like posting on legit Cred Forums. Now the board culture is something else.. It lacks that shitposting culture that Cred Forums and Cred Forums by extension is popular for, also if you post the "wrong" opinions you get banned.

Sorry. I went there out of curiosity when GG was a thing and since then it stuck in my mind as fake Cred Forums. If that may reassure you I don't get banned very often and go there twice a year to see what they are up to. It's just a more serious Cred Forums with its own culture really, nothing to lose sleep about. Their elitism is also kind of funny.
