He went into the deal with Moot with the wrong fucking mindset. This place has never been profitable, nor has it been possible to make it into a profit machine. It just doesn't fit a money-making model like that. It doesn't have the reputation, it doesn't have the ad revenue, it certainly doesn't have a reciprocal userbase from which to cull donations, and attempting to shut it behind memberships by monetizing it will piss off literally everyone.
Moot knew the site was on its slow decline after the Fappening, when he had to put up with the legal troubles that were born from Cred Forums's inclusion in the scandal, but Hiro just didn't know what the fuck he was getting into, and I think that's worsened how fucked all of us are in the end
