VR's biggest failure is trying to capture the casual crowd. It never will. It's a niche product that is best used for niche genres of games, flight sims, space sims, etc.

until we have brain-computer interfaces that give us very accurate control over the user interface/characters then VR will be stuck in the gimick stages. there's a reason why we aren't seeing any decent first-person/rpg VR games.
