He is the just a pure, standard, original take on a Waddle Dee, and he can afford to just be a normal Waddle Dee (not Parasol Waddle Dee, Spear Waddle Dee, Sailor Waddle Dee, Helper Waddle Dee, what have you) because he is the only one in his game. 64's Waddle Dee would not be the same if he was some other deviation of a Waddle Dee.

Bandana Waddle Dee exists so you can have a distinction between him and ordinary Waddle Dees, he was designed to stand out from a croud of many Waddle Dees. You can easily point him out because he looks different, he is NOT just a plain Waddle Dee. He is never a pure, standard, original take on a Waddle Dee, is always Bandana Dee, the point is that he is a deviation of the original concept of the little waddling enemy so you can point to one of many that is different. He always, after KSSU, uses a weapon to fight as well. Bandana Waddle Dee would not be the same if he was a standard Waddle Dee.

In general, whenever you want to find a vidya soundtrack, you should check downloads (dot) khinsider. The quality probably isn't that great, but it's a good place to find OSTs. I'll never understand why a fucking Disney anime site hosts so many soundtracks.

I do like the idea of 64 Dee as being just some guy. However, I like to imagine that his adventures with Kirby and Dedede endeared this random guy to them. Look at the interactions between 64 Dee and Kirby. They become fast friends, and later on Bandanna Dee is said to be Kirby's best friend these days. I think 64 Dee being some Joe Schmo that ends up becoming someone important through his own bravery is much more interesting than "Kirby just knows Bandanna Dee and Dedede has him as second-in-command for no reason."

Bandana Waddle Dee can't have this, because he exists to coexist with enemy Waddle Dees, he wears the hat so you can point him out as a friendly one. They are different Waddle Dees that were set up and executed in fundamentally different ways. They both exist to be a friendly Waddle Dee, but their differences are still very apparent, shows that you can take very similar things in very different directions depending on how you want to handle it.

I like Kawasaki, but rather than animal friends + Gooey, I think Adeleine would be a nice roulette wheel final smash. She could paint any monster, from a useless NZ to a powerful Ice Dragon, then "fight" you only to get knocked off the stage, or she could paint a random health item then disappear. Gooey could potentially be a pretty fun Kirby clone.

Fun fact well it's not a fact it's speculation, a Waddle Dee was probably intended to be a joke boss in Kirby GCN, judging by the name of this theme music. Probably similar to Arena Waddle Dee. That role could have been recycled for Waddle Dee in SSU's subgame Revenge of the King, similar to how the concept of a mechanized Dedede hammer was recycled from GCN for that subgame.
Anyway, here's the theme later refurbished as "Peaceful Place" in the final game
