...

nightly best

I use EarthWorm

it's a fork of FireFox

47, 48 deliberately removes the ability to use extensions without Mozilla's approval and in the not too distant future they're going to fuck up the entire extension system to copy fucking Chrome, so I don't see myself "upgrading" any time soon

SeaMonkey Nightly 2.45a1.

51

No, pic related is much better and faster.

I use AirHare

It's as fast and as light as the name suggests

Firefox Beta 49.0

and its also a botnet.

this is not funny.

I just use the latest version and as long as non of the add-ons I use are affected, I don't care about what says, but it does have me a little concerned.

Also you can (currently) use either Nightly or the developer version of Firefox to install any unverified add-ons.

Got nothing to hide

I use WaterWeasel, it's pretty slick

Chrome 53 on phone
And chrome dev 54 on chrome book

It's a bit smoother, but it uses fifty times as much RAM and the UI isn't customizable unless you use third party reskins (Vivaldi, Opera, etc.)

i used firefox on everything except my macbook where i use safari for the battery life

t. firefox beta/nightly/aurora user

Latest stable.

This run slower on my 4 years old laptop than firefox.

I try different fork, beta, aurora, nightly or browser but always back to firefox stable. Dont know why, but I think best browser/version really depend on your hardware.

I run ESR (which is currently based off 45)

I only have to turn off some new faggotry once a year or so, instead of once every few weeks.

Nice try, Google shills.
Firefox still continuously ranks as the most used and best browser among Cred Forums users.

Yes, 48.
My only complaints are that it takes quite a bit of time to open up the first time, and HTML5 videos sometimes get an annoying stuttering black screen. Been having these issues since like 42.

You're probably just trolling, but that's still a horrible reason.

If the police knocked on your door right know and asked you to search your whole house, without any real reason, just as security precaution, would you agree? After all, why would you not if you had nothing to hide?

>Firefox still continuously ranks as the most used and best browser among Cred Forums users.

Did you even look at the image you posted? It shows Firefox even with forks included having a total of 45%. A 7 year old child knows enough math to tell that 45% is less than half, thus less than most.

Firefox? Hell no, I'm not some nerd. XD

Chrome all the way. I mostly play games anyway, IDC about browsers.

Yeah, more people also use piece of shit iPhones, that doesn't necessarily make them better. What the fuck is your point?

chrome is some light browser, not using that shit

Whatever the newest one is. I've pretty much switched to chrome for all important tasks considering chrome doesn't crash every 30 minutes just because I have a couple hundred tabs open. It's also SUPER slow when it comes to anything JS, HTML5 or Flash.

He said most. Not majority, not half, but most. Most does not mean half. Go be a retard somewhere else.

You can be not nerd, but you are cuck for sure ;^)

>browser with Earthworm Jim as its logo
I would use it.

Waterfox

Yes, and whatever the newest one is...

>couple hundred
Normie detected

48.0.2

nightly

...

nightly since the signing requirement became mandatory and the workaround was removed in vanilla FF

dev edition and unbranded builds don't have that either

Exactly the same here.
I like the ability of being able to view how much power is going to each process but other then that I haven't found any benefit from multi process have you?
It seems like exactly the same usage

dev edition

it just works and has a good UI

I use seamonkey. I'd use firefox but the gtk3 filepicker doesn't show NFS bookmarks. Seamonkey is the gtk2 firefox and I am happy with it

...

...

yeah, latest stable and latest aurora release for two different profiles.

The latest releases dating back to i think around 46 or so have a memory leak issue on my system, where browsing the internet for too long causes everything to become sluggish and load weird. Rolled back to 43.0.4 and so far everything is fine. Is this a common problem? am i the only one with this issue?

only faster if you dont delete your cache history

Hi my name is John, I do not use firefox, I use Chrome, you should also use Chrome, it's faster and bettet, it makes my life much easier. I am definetily not getting paid for writting this message.

Use any version with e10s

...

I use Opera and PM, how are Waterfox and Sea monkey?

Yo, browse more: wiki.mozilla.org/Add-ons/Extension_Signing#Unbranded_Builds

Whatever is newest. It gets the job done.

Chrome scrolls like ass in Linux.

45.3.0 ESR Portable
portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox-portable-esr

I still use MemeMoon but it seems not to be a placebo. It's one of the only browsers that run decently on my overheating x201 anyway so I'm good.

7/10 would use again

Opera is the way to go

I don't know how anyone can stand Firefox anymore. Its too fucking slow now.

nigthly, is there even an alternative

Opera, it's just snappier and more responsive than that SJW run piece of shit.

Are any Firefox-forks faster than Waterfox? it's too slow on my somewhat shit laptop.

desu I just want the fastest browser possible but nobody can ever give me any kind of direct answer as to what that is

I was considering switching to an FF fork, but I never got to do that and I ended up staying with this version.

I'm on 48 and I use at least one unapproved extension.

48.0.2 with Classic Theme Restorer
just works

The right to hide your childporn =/= the right to say nigger Edward you dumb shit

waterfox 24.0
>Do any of you still use firefox?
i can't imagine using anything else unles you're a normalfag

Nigthly, is there even a substitute to Firefox

ESR, but recently Soundcloud dropped support for older Firefox versions and I'm using Nightly on the side.

Yes, latest stable. With classic theme restorer and shit of course.

>where browsing the internet for too long causes everything to become sluggish and load weird
Had this problem after around 33 or 34+ and updated to 43.0.1 in the hopes that it was fixed. Seeing as you've been having that problem like I did makes me not want to update. I think their only solution was to refresh FireFox which didn't work. FF 33 or 34 was a beast for me, shit never crashed for me. Can't go back now though, too much new addons I'm using need FF40+.

But do you handle your online banking with it?
What if there is just the stupidest bug in it that posts your credentials on /toy/ or something equally absurd.
Or are you poor neets pretending to be devs?

48.0.2

cyberfox

The last one + the Android one.

This

>le ebin "everyone who wants privacy watches cp" meme

Bullshit, the image is absolutely correct. You have "nothing to hide" until the moment when a book you read or something you said to a friend 5 years before in a private chat is going to retroactively have you end up on a black list or worse.

Post your wallpaper please

34
I'll update as soon as they unfuck it.

38

>not using completely separate browser/os/laptop for sensitive data
Neet spotted.

>Do any of you still use firefox?
rarely, but I still have some tabs open in it that I haven't gone through yet. Also, very rare in 2016 but compatiability is better on some sites
>If so what version?
Don't know, haven't updated in 2-3 years

Kek

You have the fucking code, take out the botnet and recompile it famalam

the latest, e10s engaged. noice.

Nightly Master Race

3.6
Anyone who uses anything after is cancer.

v43
and i´m pretty much satisfied with it
everything after it is shit anyways

Firefox 48 for Android for two reasons: add-ons mainly uBlock and background playing which means you can listen to YouTube videos while phone is locked or while Firefox isn't open. Making YouTube Red pointless and technically making Spotify premium pointless.

However, it does have its issues. At times it would just stop a video playing and I'd have to refresh the page. This could be due to Android or the bulkiness of Firefox itself. Certainly not my phone because I have an S7.

Aside from being bulky it's also poorly designed. It's not fluid to use like Chrome is on Android. You can't use gestures, you have to press the little buttons. Can't pull down to see all tabs, have to click button. And the media on it sucks. The player and image viewer suck. Go to google images on both browsers and you'll see. Chrome let's you swipe to the next picture, Firefox forces you to click.

I'd never install Firefox on my desktop though. Chrome is just better. Period. I remember the old days though. Firefox used to be king. Best mobile browser though...

48.0.2

Go be retarded somewhere else you commie piece of shit.

no one uses firefox except for tinfoil tier faggots who like using old shit like windows xp and linux. firefox is literally the worst browser available, even microsoft edge is better.

>even microsoft edge is better.
That is surprisingly true. I've had more crashes and issues with firefox and edge has only froze for me a couple of times that I've used it. Although I didn't use edge until last year for a bit compared to a few years of firefox.

This is a nice sounding quote but it doesn't really work as an analogy

>have loads of firefox privacy add ons
>changed a load of settings in about:config
>go to google maps
>still knows my position
>literally no search engines you can trust either

I just thought fuck it and moved to qutebrowser instead. Hell I'll use lynx from time to time too.

...

48.0.2 x64

Is there any firefox addon or something else that would let me listen to music from youtube without displaying videos?

I use ForestSnake 52.1, pretty lightweight as the name suggests

>chrome has exactly the same addons available
>chrome has exactly the same settings avalible
>who uses google maps?
>they are getting location based on your ip, not geolocation within your browser
>startpage, serx

but google=/=police

who's the retard your quoted?

Best. Man. Ever.
twitter.com/Snowden/status/757719728072847360

I don't understand why people hate it.

Chrome is Google botnet bullshit, so fuck that by default.

>I don't understand why people hate it.
Few vocal shills. Nothing more and does not represent the facts, don't worry.

It's trash, slow, and devs are SJWs

I stopped using it when it disabled all the extensions I customized.

Fuck that noise. That was the only reason I put up with everything else it does horribly.

I have never awaken on one fine morning, to find my browser has taken corporeal form and is now attacking me with a book.

Dont like something they patch in? Compile it your self without that patch

>Its too fucking slow now.
Doing what? Do you have 1000 tabs open or something?

Palemoon because it loads faster (just a bit).

hulk hogan said nigger once several years ago
he got fucked because of that
what have you said that might fuck you in a couple years?
2+2=4 ?

...

Is there a repo of firefox patches, that add or remove certain "features"?

Flash works terrible on my firefox, while on chrome I can have 100 tabs open and flash will still work just fine. Idc why but it just works.

There is no reason to not be using HTML5

Valid, but why are you using flash?

Palemoon

Regarding Firefox, I have no idea why the built-in PDF viewer cuts off the tops of characters. It makes the text difficult to read.

This

Works fine for me.

Lucky for you. What version are you running?

I have issues.

I use 51 (Nightly) so you could try it and see if there's any difference.

Don't think so. I wish it was easier to remove things you don't want by adding ac_add_options --without={foo,bar} to your mozconfig.

>That button
Why are you using XFCE?

Nice theme! Got a link?

github.com/grassmunk/Chicago95

51.01a firefox nightly

>end my life

I switched back to Firefox around two years ago. Now I feel uncomfortable using Chromium at all. Can't handle it.

Why are you using such an old Firefox? Is your distro really old and not have the right libraries or something?

you can still cheat until they fix it
ghacks.net/2016/08/14/override-firefox-add-on-signing-requirement/

>Firefox uses more RAM because it's bigger than the largest Chromium process XDDD
fuck off shill, chromium processes collectively use far more memory.

fyi, kde is a lot lighter these days

I tried experimental (v49) in which the PDF viewer is completely botched for me (shows nothing) and nightly (v51) whose PDF viewer works as advertised, but I lose all tabs, settings and add-ons. This must be one of the slight inconveniences Stallman mentioned.

He's using Debian

latest release version with e10s enabled. has some problems with some add-ons, but other than that, works OK, a bit faster than before

I solved by dropping to v45 for now, because not being able to read PDFs is a major nuisance.

Is Palemoon still good and safe when it comes to privacy and banking?

I use it on my phone for porn because it's the only browser that can open videos in mx player

Reminder Chrome is objectively the best browser and Firefox is too ez to hack

tomshardware.com/news/pwn2own-2016-firefox-missing-in-action,31451.html

>pwn2own
why are all hacker kids still stuck in the 90s

You are the stupidest man alive.

This makes sense. Thanks user!

that article talks about firefox lacking security features, not necessarily about being too buggy. to exploit a program, you have to find bugs in the first place

I just want 45 or 48 with e10s. I hate nightly all sorts of shit is fucked upm like menus showing up on the wrong screen, open bookmarks, menu is on opposite monitor

>CACHING

You didn't disable Geo-location service in about:config. Search "Google" in the bar.

Install Privacy Settings and Pale Moon Commander from PaleMoon's site for greater control with ease. Optionally, Fat-Free Fox and uMatrix.

You can trust StartPage. In the URL, your query is not even evident.

Theoretically, this: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-panel/?src=search

Leads:
>Youtube Panel is unmatched when its joined, with youtube anywhere player ,youtube plus and netvideohunter!
>YouTube™ Sidebar

You are better off using YouTube Video and Audio Downloader to get your music offline.

I use Google Maps because I live in a metro and it can tell me what bus lines to take to get to places, whereas other maps cannot do this.

Also, Chromium has not the diversity of addons nor the depth.

Because you are a normie who needs only something that fetches web pages.

Use something other than Stable.

The built-in viewer just isn't good at all. If you use Windows, SumatraPDF is a better alternative. There are addons that allow quick launching of external applications.

That's actually a very low number. Without addons installed on a fresh launch, you will get between 150MB to 300MB usage. I have gone as high as 2,500MB before it becomes literally unusable, but I have lots of addons installed, ton of tabs, and never close the browser. So long as you limit yourself to essentials, don't go overboard on tabs, and responsibly restart your browser every now and then, you should be fine.

Caching may also have something to do with it. You can disable the caches by installing Pale Moon Commander from Pale Moon and looking for the appropriate settings.

Lack of smooth scrolling and about:config depth is a pain.

>just recompile google chrome

I'm being hacked by the best of the best - dead serious illuminate $hit. Today, I discovered I was hit with a kernal exploit that came through Firefox. Every time I start FF a download would execute with the payload to hijack/spoof my traffic. I'm using the latest version.

Are you retarded?

Any of you guys have tried Yandex?

it's someone you know

I'm sure you're using uMatrix, uBlock, Cross Policy, Privacy Settings, and Bluhell Firewall all like you are supposed to.

Get Links2 through your package manager and download Public Fox from the addon site if the problem has persisted.

Botnet. Use StartPage.

correct. It's been 2 years now. Political correctness, corruption and Wall Street. Anyone know what's the most secure browser that allows JS? Chrome is malware

I don't know what I'm going to do when Firefox drops pentadactyl support.

Thanks I'll look into ur recommendations. Also, found that part of the payload was hijacking my remote screen sharing - Mac el captian. I disabled in CLI and settings interface spoofs off setting gui. Should I trust the CLI?

I use nightly as my main day to day browser. Frankly it is fairly stable especially compared to back in the minefield build days. The worst that has ever happened to me is I had to disable one of my addons cause it caused a crash on launch for me. As for security, If something actually makes it to the commit and gets noticed it will get reverted the very next day.

>Cred Forumss browsers of2016

Whatever is in the Arch.

Of course!
It's part of my superior out-of-the-box Ubuntu OS.
And, like the system itself, "it just werks".

>allowing javascript
>secure
That's not possible

>You can trust StartPage
Google says they can be trusted as well. :^)

11.0.34

>would you agree?
would you not? got nothing better to do

47, not because i care about removed features but because i dont giva shit and im too lazy to update

Firefox ESR 32-bit for the Java support. A website I need to use still needs it...

ESR 45.3.0 here, I'll never use the "vanilla" version of Firefox ever again, and depending on what they fuck up with the next ESR release (think it'll be 52) I may just keep using this version.

No issues, 26 addons/extensions, 7 plugins, still starts up within 1.5 seconds, very heavily customized as well but it works fine for me. No need for the separate process bullshit, I've never had a tab cause it to implode - this version is portable and has been upgraded since around v19 came out. Health report says the last actual crash was in 2013 and I keep the browser open pretty much 24/7 so again, it works for me.

t. mad pedophiles

I'm using pcxFirefox as backup browser.

I just do normie things with my browser but I can't find a good youtube video downloader addon for chrome. Does dlhelper still work for firefox? Should I switch back?

Forget addons
github.com/MrS0m30n3/youtube-dl-gui

just point it to mpv (youtube-dl is required) and add --no video flag

I love it for playlists

no I stopped after they implemented a shit ton of DRM in 48.0.1 and started using Chromium custom built
