Cred Forumss favorite website design

I'm working on a small website to host my protfolio / devblog.
While looking around for examples of similar websites I came across Pixel's devblog.

studiopixel.sakura.ne.jp/

I really like its simplicity, looks so much better than most bootstrap copy pasted websites.

Any other webpages with designs you enjoy?

what a fucking mess

Not entirely joking. Fuck bootstrap.

This made me vomit.

Unless you make it look really nice just use fucking bootstrap or some other css framework.

Employers will think you're a hardcore autist otherwise.

Bootstrap isn't used because it looks nice, its used because otherwise you'll have to make your shitty page work on every resolution by yourself.

Just give me some ASA

I like the dorf fort page.

They'd be pretty shit for a portfolio.

I like that. Alot.

>They'd be pretty shit for a portfolio.
JP web design style is condensed, efficient, and very busy. It would be good for JP jobs

This one is a favorite of mine. It's clear, simple and smooth.

fucking shit my sides!

Cred Forumsuys, give me some old sites (maybe some scientific, educational, municipal or other non-commercial) to redesign them for my portfolio.

warnerbros.com/archive/spacejam/movie/jam.htm

Sorry, but I'm not sure that we can regard it as non-commercial.
BTW it looks retro comfy a lot.

Thanks. It seems exactly related but a little bit complicated. Actually I think to start with some pollar statons' websites.

Great, now I have a seizure and should drink bleach.

I like this. Bootstrap-ish tech startup websites feel so sterile and corporate.

i hate such design because i have been used to fancy hipsterish sites of our customers that we hae to build for them, this text was very refreshing though.

>tfw can tell that's a box of Nurofen Plus next to the generic ibuprofen

what am I doing with my life

this looks cool and everything but lags on my machine. It should never lag at such scale. im on macbook air from last year using safari, which is still not an excuse

Pixel's site looks like shit. But it suits the style of his games I guess.

>Bootstrap-ish tech startup websites feel so sterile and corporate.

This is true, you should try and make it feel more personal. So, instead of photos of millennials smiling, you could have a photo of you. That kind of thing.

There aren't any rules except whether it looks like shit or not. Too many variables.

I like GE, only problem is the size of the menu or the triggertime, on my laptop, normal scrolling practically anywhere on the site will trigger the hover state and opens over the 50% of my screen

Not saying this ironically either. I genuinely think it's a brilliantly designed simple website. Works consistently between all devices. When I hit back on a browser I always end up at the same point in the page I was at before and quickly because it's not reloading a bunch of stuff. It's pretty close to the motherfuckingwebsite ideal

... which is actually really easy.

Use good html user, we don't need anymore shitty javascript sites

>It's using HTML5 tags so you and your bitch-ass browser know what the fuck's in this fucking site.
>Cross-browser compatibility? Load this motherfucker in IE6. I fucking dare you.

As a former webdev, shit hits the fan using HTML5 tags in

Best website.

There are a lot of bad websites in that list.

Yeah sure.

This site was pretty good in it's heyday.

If someone is using

Neither do I, but that's not the point. It's the fact that those two statements contradict each other. If you want to support

IE the web browser of hell

Oh is not that hard, only a couple of Css extra lines here and there, probably takes 20 minutes to do if you are lazy. Bootstrap is 80% unused most of the times so you are loading a bunch of Css you don't even use

he made a million bucks.

Why is Internet Explorer, especially older versions supported? Even Microsoft moved to Edge. Can anyone explain to me why people work so hard to make sure this cancer is supported?

Why not just ignore it and move on?

Damn, what a fucking genius.

massive % of normies uses ie as their default browser.

Quite underwhelming list. This is one of the few decent pages up there:

back in the old days I posted a link to my website (certain services in exchange for bitcoin) I got banned for a week

Is shilling allowed now?

I love how this fuck is piggybacking the owner

Paracetamol is the way to go unless you're really sick.

Wrong motherfucker, its Nurofen Plus next to the generic paracetamol.
