Because battery life on a phone is ass and the screen is the biggest contributor, I'm not going to get something that has 4x as many pixels to light up and render when there's really no reason for it. I'll get a phone with a QHD display when it can last at least 3 days battery life. Even then probably not because a phone with an HD display would still last even longer, but I'd actually consider QHD at that point.

Great stuff really, basically a lcd with a backlight that also reflects sunlight, giving it amazing visibility outdoors.

The battery life and black levels are enough to make it superior to any form of LCD.

It could be the best LCD in the world but that still doesn't make it AMOLED.

I like my giant phone, but that is just personal preference.

Also, keep in mind, the bigger the phone, the more space there is to add a larger battery. With my custom battery, my phone goes for ~4 days. While it is true QHD doesn't have much over HD, my computer at home has 4k monitors so I'm just really fond of higher resolutions. Again, personal preference.

The last one was years ago, which I assume to be an indication of improved LED technology. A store display that sits in demo mode with screen on for 16+ hours a day is not an indicator of real usage.

MicroSD slots in phones are like USB ports on laptops. Many people use MicroSD cards like flash drives for easy and secure file sharing. It's also nice to be able to just swap cards once they're full instead of wasting 30 minutes transferring shit to your computer. If MicroSD was really depreciated then the latest flagship phones from Samsung, LG, HTC, Blackberry, etc. would not support them. Everything but your precious iShit has MicroSD slots these days.
