Can't wait for early next year for them to announce this damn thing!

what ever happend to this? read about it some time ago

>buying lenovo

not being able to install anything but windows coz the BIOS blocks it ;^) google it faggot

>2016
>hdd activity indicator
what's the point? ssds load shit fast enough, and OS's don't freeze constantly like they used to.

>lenovo

>8row
Take all my money

internal ssd + 2tb hdd in ultrabay

Bump

needs a lit keyboard. im always fumbling around the keyboard in the dark trying to git the volume keys on my x220t

How much is it going to cost? Might save up and buy myself a laptop.

why not press fn+pgup?

That's what the little nibs on the F and J key are for.

Is there any speculated release date or any more information about this?

I too would like to know, I'm not upgrading until I know whether I can get hold of one of these.

Wish they would put the indicator lights at the base of the monitor. But not sure what else they would put in the space. I've never really found a use for the ThinkVantage button.

Have you remapped the thinkvantage button to anything?

Does that dock have a desktop GPU?

I wish

>doesn't use the thinklight
it's 100% based. It's the reason I still use my t61p

he said like a year ago that they were targeting 2017; the biggest issue is the screen, since Apple has a monopoly on 16:10 and only Google and Microsoft use 3:2 (which I VASTLY prefer).

the panel, since it has to be not 16:9, will be expensive to mass produce. Everything else will be like any other thinkpad

what's wrong with that?

>being a contrarian

mine does ;^)

Looks like shit. Especially that red nipple.

Good luck putting Linux on that.

user, please explain.

godamn i fucking hate arstechnica

It's a concept :(

blog.lenovo.com/en/blog/retro-thinkpad-time-machine/

IBM Advance dock, its got a bay for a PCIe GPU.

not a concept, if you watch the video linked in the thread they talk about a slated 2017 reveal on the retro thinkpad.

I actually wish the polls favored the retro thinkpad logo as OP's picture shows than the silver thinkpad logo after the lenovo acquisition.

why am I getting a super 80s vibe here?

if it's not active you can turn it off

The X220T doesn't have a ThinkLight.
Literally the only thing that annoys me with it. In every other way it's an amazing laptop.
I hate backlit keyboards, so it's not an option.
Not him though, just another X220T owner.

...

>meming
it's only for WIndows 10 signature PCs, which I'm assuming are cheaper options

any regular laptop even running windows will give you the option to install linux

i hate when companies do this

i mean, i know its all done to build up hype but shit its already been over a year

The real question is, what GPUs can fit in there and of the ones which can fit, which of them are safe to install?

If you want something more powerful just use an ExpressCard adapter.
