Why didn't you just install it in a VM or VPS? Programming through ssh is comfy.

Because we use a live USB custom Linux OS for exams

>nginx

If it was a Live USB, why did you install it? What school do you go to that makes you do that for exams. I've seen my school's computers has some sort of lockdown browser thing, but I've never had to use it.

>apache

that's not the point

Looks like someone just got the systemD.

>fresh install
>nginx is already installed

You fucked shit up after you got it installed didn't you OP?

So you just dont have network. ofc service like netwotkmanager and etwotk related dont work
That is not a clean install

what the fuck is wrong with your network?

Do you actually get that much latency?

It's like having sex with someone with AIDS then bitching about that you got infected with HIV.

No one uses NetworkManager...

>every error is just 'look in the systemd logs'
>this is somehow a good error message to show the user
I don't mind systemd for the most part, but the logging and reporting part of it is just atrocious.

>digabi-wf-network

Gee I fucking wonder why NetworkManager is failing.

Really linux?

/thread

>systemd

Why aren't your exams on paper? Exams are for testing knowledge of theory, and should be do-able with a pencil and paper. Practical knowledge should be tested through homework assignments, for which you should be able to use dedicated Linux computers paid for and maintained by the department, available in a lab, should you not wish to install Linux on your own machine.

Memcheck. As in memory checking. C'mon user, don't be retarded.

>buy new computer
first mistake
>try to install the Linux OS
second mistake

Linux is a kernel, not an OS, and support for the latest hardware is generally not completely intuitive. What distro are you attempting to use?

For desktop installs, Ubuntu has the best 'OOB' compatibility and the best installer.

You apparently haven't heard that it has problems on newer hardware

Linux is the OS.

It would help to know what network hardware you have in your machine.

I get 7ms to my server with a shitty hiperlan connection from the middle of nowhere.
Not everyone has usa-tier connections

>nginx

attention whoring faggot

Technically Linux is not the OS, and it can't be compared to what people think of as an OS in other cases such as Mac OS, Windows, iOS, et cetera. I think Linus does claim it's an OS, but he's wrong.
