WTF, How does that happen? And who thinks the box contents will still be fine after that?

Your package is not hand delivered from where you ordered it from to your front door.
Automation will fuck things up sometimes.

Got some OC for you.. Don't smoke indoors, or near your computer.

shit like this is why i always choose PICK UP INSTORE whenever available

>stapler labeled "Victor Arias"
>computer tower disgusting from smoking near it
>beaners

Whoops, I probably should have cropped that

Plus, the trip there is always so exciting. I went the next town over on the second to last train for the night to pick up a new phone; made it back on the last train and played with the phone for a while. Comfy as heck.

...

it's too late. you can't delete things from the internet

i was part of a team changing out the computers for an agency of the federal government, i couldn't take pictures for security reasons but those were some of the most filthy, disgusting keyboards and mice i've ever seen. boogers and snot, and probably jizz and i don't know what all, federal workers are lowlifes, maybe not all but these for sure

>and probably jizz
were they monitoring CP to "catch" pedos?

it's ok vic, or vics it guy

My guess is someone ran it over/fucked it up with a forklift or it was hanging over the edge of a pallet and someone lowered another ballet onto it .

Use to work retail and I saw SOOO much shit.
People would literally stack CASES of paint on top of light bulbs. Id bull out packages of lights bulbs that were actually flat.
I've seem people rip half of a case of juice in half with a forklift and leave it in the pallet to rot.

How retarded are you for posting that pic? They're clearly two different cards in both of the pictures. Just look at the head sink mounting holes

...

...

Hahaha holy shit

On topic: a while back, I was replacing my motherboard. I was deinstalling my HSF and processor, but they were stuck together. Instead of gently twisting back and forth, I was pulling directly up on the HSF, and I ripped the processor right out of the socket without opening the zif lever.

I thought I fucked it permanently, but all the pins were still aligned. I put it in the new mobo and it was fine.

It's the same card look at the VRAM and the hole he drilled it lined up

I use to work for UPS as a package handler. It's a miracle anything makes it anywhere undamaged.

>Plus, the trip there is always so exciting. I went the next town over on the second to last train for the night to pick up a new phone

You don't get out much, do you?

Lucky fuck.

I dunno man, he did say CLEARLY

you weren't suppose to do that? What is the sticker for? HOW BAD DID I FUCK UP?

someone else from malaysia i see

He drilled through the white line.

You don't drill through the white line.

...

...

linustechtips.com/main/topic/561041-980ti-darwin-awards-help/

>drill
what the fuck why??

How does this even happen?

Holy shit, how the hell do you manage to fuck up a CPU this badly?

It's far worse than what those pics make it out to be. He failed on every step.

Funny how people tell him it might have been repaired after telling him it's fucked resulting in him smashing it.

Bees and ants like electromagnetic fields. Its actually really common to open up a case server/communications (or even residential shit) and find it full of bees or ants.

I've never come across bees in an electronic device. Thank god too because I'm terrified to death of bees.

Bees are ok, aslong as you leave their computer alone..

>Bees and ants like electromagnetic fields
Is that because electromagnetism is what they use to synchronize their souls for hivemind communication? I read about this once in a neopagan magazine, how living things are interconnected through invisible energies that make the planet into a giant brain of sorts. Kinda how dejavus are caused by earlier visions of the future through this invisible force that flows through all of us.

bees are sweethearts who should be respected. it's wasps who should be feared and killed

Greg will be here in 10 minutes with the instant pizzas Billy.

You're supposed to put the sticker, anywhere else. Literally anywhere other than on top of the processor.
If you have say, an Athlon 5350, you didn't fuck up much, those basically don't get hot.
If you used something like an FX8350
GG

I dont know what the fuck you just read, but I assume em fields get them high.

>Literally anywhere other than on top of the processor.
c-can I put it under the processor?

i once worked at dpd in germany. me and the other workers would make a game out of who could break the most packages without getting noticed. one time the boss was notified and he just said he doesn't really care, insurance would cover it anyway.

>Born: Steven Paul Jobs

He was adpoted. His real surname is Jandali from his Syrian dad. Wikipedia still shit I see.

no shit. Why? whats the goop? why was it all mounted to the mobo with 3 foot bolts?

Oh, wait it's 2016 and they still haven't shipped

>dedicated gpus are shit
pppfffftttt

Shit gets broken all the time. I used to work for Fedex.
It's a total gamble whether or not you package will make it through the system unharmed. Every day I would see packages that were totally flattened or otherwise destroyed. It's a combination of unavoidable shit (heavy packages falling on lighter ones in transit) or just employees not giving a fuck and tossing boxes around.

No, no.
The dual CPU quad core G5 was absolutely top of the line in every way, no expenses spared.
And yet the PPC Macs were slow compared to x86 alternatives in what Macs were supposed to be good at.
And the liquid cooling was shit. The entire product is so big, powerhungry, overenigneered, and it's just shit in the end.

it's supposed to go on your case, if you want to
on top of the cpu is the worst place, it will act as a thermal insulator (preventing heat from going from the cpu to the heatsink)

Its generally better to cut the pcie slot.

have you thought about...idk, knocking off that 8th inch of plastic on the back of the slot instead of neutering the video card?

So much for zero force, you forceful motherfucker. I remember making a ps/2 mouse plug look like this back in the day, though. Sometimes you have to be retarded to learn.

Agreed, but sometimes next to impossible do to slot placement on the board or other factors.

>the joy when manufacturers are starting to make open slots.

holy shit that newegg layout nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks

...

Just rinse it off in the sink and hang it outside to dry, itll be fine.

Does it say "Stack Cock"?

Ive known about the cutting a pcie card to length for years. I just upgraded to a modern motherboard and got a good laugh when I saw that on the only pci 4x slot.

is there a good reason for doing this?

Cool, now put on the heatsink.

watercooling might fix it

I'm pretty sure all IBM Deskstar HDDs from that era broke down sooner or later. They were actually called IBM "Deathstar" back in the day.

yes, that's the name of the picture in the post you replied to

It was struck by lightning.

The top of a 2m antenna connected on the left of the device was shot into the air and travelled around 20m.

So I suspect that the lightning hit it from that Ethernet port (it was using PoE) and somehow travelled to the antenna to melt a part of it and shot the very top.

the real question is how the hell did someone solder all that shit?

>that bended motherboard

I wonder if I still can find the multimeter some retard attempted to use to measure voltage of plasma cutter.

Waaah

Please respond

Im too spooped now :(

I mean crap man, that's like one clean chunk

it also really doesnt look like the inside of an xbox 360.
Theres only one heatsink in those things. The only other thing that second one could be is the disc drive, but those are at a right angle and that is clearly at about 60 degrees.

kek

The guy took off a ground panel and slashed them.

at least it's a small clusterfuck.

>Smart Switch
He deserved it.

>terminate and put jacks in the ends
>connect with double ended RJ45 cord

It's expensive for each of those but it's a lot cheaper than reinstalling all of the cat5 or w/e that is

what the fuck is that

That looks like a managed switch to me. That lone RJ-45 port seems to be the dedicated control port, but the lack of a serial COM port is suspect.

A quality tester could tell you where the error was, that looks like it's in a hardpan ceiling so it's just a bitch for the low voltage technician to climb in there

Not going to lie, the thumbnail looked like some ancient city ruins in a desert to me.

Lets google some references see what happens.

I am ashamed to own an FX 8350 because this dumb ass.

Shouldn't your name be google, tripfag?

Jesus...

yeah but you're introducing alot of noise and network lag by doing such a passive fix and you're probably cutting the signal distance by 15% .

I got the feeling that judging from the thumbnail, you thought those were ruins right?; correct me if i'm wrong

>that little tobasco bottle

kill me

factory watercooling + years of neglect by normies = one dead G5.

Even still, that's pretty shit for a high end machine, I've seen those shitty little Corsair H thingies with really high TDP overclocked chips and last for years.

...

Its not apple though. They probably went with the cheapest chink option. IIRC its a real widespread issue with G5s. That and hipsters gutting them, dremeling out the back and putting in PC parts for a hackintosh.

I'll never forget that.

I have the thread screencapped on my thinkpad somewhere.

why the fuck would you lie about something like that anyway, you sociopath

There is such a thing as a inline cat5 splice, hopefully the original installer left some slack in the runs.

The real bitch would be using a toner/amp to identify exactly which run goes where and make sure they get spliced together correctly.

how do you know what cable goes with what?

>prototyping?

Well it would be a shit prototype. The length of wires would need to be closely controlled so it would be impedance matched, see impedance matching if you want to know more. Otherwise the signal from the CPU to the bridge, ram, etc would be fucked and out of sync.

See my previous post You clip a device on one end that makes a distinct signal, and then you have a wand with a speaker that can pick up the signal.
Touch the wand to the cable to find out which cable you attached the toner to.

It's enough work for 2 or 3 cables, it would probably take at least 30-40 min depending on the setup for that mess, just to label the cables.

oh shit! checked

I did this with an AMD CPU building my first computer...

this shit actually looks pretty good

>as long as you leave their computer alone..
Yep, theirs now.

A surge judging by the wires, probably lightning.

>They opened it instead of rejecting it
Literally why.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thats not gore. Thats water-cooling done before watercooling became a comerical thing for PC's. This is water cooling before the norm, ies were given AIO's. Before radiators were made to fit standard fan sizes. Before pumps could be plugged into fan headers.

This is history.

I should really take some pictures of some of the shit i see at work, most of this thread is small time gore.

Logistician here. This is what you assholes get for paying us peanuts.

And people come here for advice. Hahahaha

get a different job then if the pay is so low, faggot.

that's what i thought.

That's from Finland, I can tell it from the pixels

I'm in a comfortable enough position myself being a junior manager in a big modern warehouse, but we generally can't pay a living wage to those who do the more simple tasks. We're trained to distinguish logistical hurdles from human ones. This clearly isn't a logistical one, people simply don't think delivery should cost that much, or anything at all. I blame UPS.

If you want your packages to arrive on time and unharmed, get used to paying $20+ per package. If that's too much, move them yourself.

Probably Vic's IT guy, Optiplexes aren't marketed towards consumers; you can buy them but you have to go through Dell's small business channel.

And nothing of value was lost

Is that Joker?

Bees are sweet little things and as long as you aren't a fat cunt to they they won't hurt you. I've even picked them up on occasion and they've never stung me unless I fucked with them.

What a moron, he could have just put it back together and tried to cover the hole with something and he might have been able to pull off an RMA.

That's actually really cool.

The shipping industry is one of the few where most companies don't take responsibility for their fuckups.

They're so far behind in comparison to every other industry in the world.

>Your move Mr jew man

So satisfying.

Ho Victor

Prb a union worker taking revenge on a company that let non-meber lay down the cables.

How?

Does anyone know the specs of this beast?

i like how the base megadrive on its own still has a built in headphone jack

I had an HPE server show up pretty much like that. Spoke to the delivery guy, he just shrugged and said I should log a complaint if I didn't like it, dropped it at my feet and walked off.

Didn't he have to accept a signature from you?

They never do. We get ~10 servers a month and he fucking leaves them on the footpath if we aren't there.

I bet you get third-degree burns from touching that thing. It must break 200 degrees C with that shit.

was probably from a mine.

You should file a complaint to the delivery company. They are legally required to have you sign, otherwise how can they comfirm you received the package?

What like use a different mail company? All the ones you can choose from are the same and even if you go to the store to pick it up the same mail companies would have been involved in getting it to the store.

What went on in that thread?

I feel good for him.

As a buyfag these stories terrify me especially considering how much of a fucking pain it is to resolve issues with damaged goods.

>tfw have Start Bless You Sakura ordered and if that gets damaged during shipping I will go crazy

AHAHAH It's from Jimm's PC Store, can't believe this is actually from Finland. I have never received anything close to that.

You need to be 18+ to post here.

>hes too poor to afford delivery

youtube.com/watch?v=V5w-qAZ2png

There are hundreds of Youtubes like this one.

but it's a working and quality clusterfuk

What?

See about 5 different couriers come and go at my work.
They all sort through their parcels by literally grabbing them and tossing them to the front till they find what they need.
Most of them are on contract, fixed rate per hour plus commission per parcel, no sick days, no annual, if they have a day off they have to PAY for a replacement runner (So they lose day + day and a half to cover runner, which is 2.5 days~ pay loss per day off).

As a customer receiving goods from truck or van, I NEVER sign off a parcel with damage, but I can understand their problem to a degree. It's like America and tipping. Disgusting.

Those memories.

Just to add, it's not uncommon for a package to include about $5k worth of Tungsten globes or 200k worth of lighting consoles if it's a truck delivery. The local truck couriers are savage as fuck.
>Nah just put it on there
>Pallet and package teeters on two uneven OTHER CUSTOMER deliveries just to make it fit

This picture makes me want to drain my loop and refill it already, but I only put it together in July.

I once ordered a Commodore 64, with floppy drive and PSU, shitloads of other stuff. It was all nicely packed, foam and stuff, but the box had been squeezed so hard the PSU and floppy had totally destroyed the breadbox case and board. It was an insured package, but I got only a 10€ refund because they just said because I bought it from another person and not a shop, they can't fixate the price and because they aren't sold anywhere anymore, we can't tell how much it is actually worth.

Looks like a slightly less retarded Johnny Ive

>they can't fixate the price and because they aren't sold anywhere anymore, we can't tell how much it is actually worth.
That might be a good valid excuse if you would bought something very obscure like a "Brother FB100 portable floppy drive" or a "Philips PM6611 universal counter" but right now many C64s are for sale on eBay, they should have given you a refund high enough to be able to buy a replacement in a condition similar as before shipping.
I wonder what they would have said on some 5-8 year old thinkpad or a Wii.
Never the less, you seriously got ripped off and should have complained about it.
