Pretty desperate really.

Off by nine. Are yo retarded and cannot count to ten?

r u retarded

Quit shitposting.

im not a youtuber, streamer or anything that needs an excellent mic. They also arent as mobile as a headset. I can take my laptop to a starbucks or something like that and have it do the same thing as at home

Why Core? Ive heard that 7.1 is a gimmick, but its got to be worth something right?

>not using PTT
>not adjusting sensitivity
>mechanical keyboard
you are horrible and lazy person

>so new he doesn't even know what Gets are

dt770 80 or 250?

You didn't post a new thread several threads early, like the last handful of /hpg/ threads to force your half-OP. No. It was for trying for the get which no one cares about since this isn't Cred Forums. Also, no one is going to believe you when you try for a get that didn't occur for two minutes.

>gb2/b/

I like my 250 ohm dt 770s, but I have not tried any of the other models. My galaxy s5 powers them just fine though.

80 ohm limited edition

now go away

But removing it has been a plus to the thread.

>not using PTT

I use PTT but I'm always pressing keys on my keyboard.

im not OP, dumb fuck.

your stupid ass can't read or count since your fresh off the boat from reddit

The fuck do you need a headset at starbucks for? Don't see why you'd need portability for a microphone at all.
You could just get a desktop mic for normal use, and then just get the 16 dollar clip on sony for when you need portability for god knows what reason. Lans or something?
Subjecting people do headset mics is pretty rood.

The core because it is the cheapest. Not sure if the 2 is the same driver or anything, I can't imagine them releasing a second model for no reason. I personally haven't used them, but from what I've heard, theyre no better other than having replacement velour pads as an option, and different colours.

7.1 absolutely is a gimmick though. You will never have 7 speakers and a sub in your headphones. Its just a shitty marketing name for virtual surround sound, which you can buy USB adapters which accomplish the exact same thing. [or just straight drivers]

You mean the correct unbiased OP format that we've had for years? He might be a faggot for starting it early but at least he isn't a shitposter like you that aims to derail the thread with his 'rules' in the OP.

Then you don't need to cheat.

>im not OP, dumb fuck.
You are a different poster and just guessing as to why the OP made the new thread way too early and making the same exact posts as the OP's first responses to being told he's a faggot.

Quit shitposting.

>You mean the correct unbiased OP format that we've had for years?
Are you the same faggot who made the same claim and then posted an archive which should how the OP was not "unbiased" even in 2014?

Do you just repeat the same bullshit because you are emotionally invested in your opinion or just disregard the truth because you have a mental imbalance?

Are you the shitposting faggot Jakkasu that wants to further derail this thread?

Thought so.

>shitposting
>shitposter

>Ive heard that 7.1 is a gimmick, but its got to be worth something right?
You gotta try it for yourself man. Don't believe these audiotists here. One speaker for each frequency so you can hear footsteps. That's why it's called gaming headphones. If you want headphones for music you buy music headphones then.

>It's everyone else's fault that I am shitposting
No one forces you to hit the click on the post or hit the keys to write your shit. It is some jakkasu's fault.

This whole thing could be avoided if you either 1) stop shitposting, or 2) stop making a new thread before the bumplimit. Don't let simple facts get in the way of your self-delusions.

1) I'm not shitposting

2) I'm not the OP

3) You're shitposting

4) You're a faggot

Ill look at either the Core or the Cloud, thanks

I know that 7.1 works, ive been using Kraken 7.1 for 5 and a half years. There are definitely times where im sound whoring in Overwatch. To be completely honest, I havent used a good stereo headset/headphones in a while. The last ones I got were some steel series that I returned the same day, and everyone knows that Beats are only passible

>It's not shitposting when *I* do it
I know you're a liar but damn dude. At least try to make it look like you aren't a kid.

>i have no idea what i'm talking about: the post

Help me guys. Are my xiaomi piston 2s done? Can she be saved? I love them so much after last week the right side fucked up and now audio only comes from the left. I found out it was a flimsy connection here and I opened it up. I don't know what to do next. How do I fix this, please help bros.

You're retarded, and I hope you're just baiting, but I'll address you as if you're not. Someone else might at least get some information out of it.

None of the Hyper X Revolver series have multiple drivers per ear. He's talking about virtual 7.1.

Multiple drivers is also a myth. Don't buy into that shit. I've used headsets with multiple drivers. Doesn't do shit. The only advantage of having more than 2 drivers is less distortion, but on headphones, you're not anywhere near volumes to hear that [other than the driver itself being trash]

You're hearing the same fuckin frequencies
There isn't a single speaker for each frequency either. I'll assume you mean as in sub, low, mid, high or whatever.
That's not even 7.1 in itself. Just shithouse marketing.
7.1 is about the angles each driver is from you and the other drivers.

Virtual surround sound is achieved solely through drivers. The headphones themselves mean nothing. Good virtual surround sound can work fine, but is often limited via the game/media itself.

if the placement wasn't as close to what I assume is the splitter, you'd be alright
theoretically it can be fixed, but it'll be an ass to do so.

but this is a good read

I have a question for you guys. I recently tried out the Steelseries Siberia v3 headset and I absolutely fell in love with the headband.

For some reason it feels really fucking comfy and I was thinking about getting them, but I don't want to fall for the gaming headset meme.

So my question is, are there any headphones that use a similiar system? I care more about comfort than sound. Pic related.

open AKG headphones

From what I can tell, AKG does similar things. Test them out in stores, see what you like.

not him, but what store has AKG headphones or even mid range sennheiser?

im from US

Please help - I'm really just looking for advice on where to start, I think I want to buy more than one pair of headphones so I can start getting a sense of what I like

>Preferred type of headphone
Full-sized.

>Open or closed
I'm indifferent. I haven't tried any high-end headphones, will probably end up getting a pair of each to get a sense of what they're about.

>Comfort level
Though I'd prefer something comfortable, comfort is not a deal breaker by any means.

>Preferred tonal balance
Really not too sure. I think somewhere in the area of warm/neutral is what I'm looking for

>Past headphones
Garbage, Sony MDR-XD100.

>Other probably unnecessary info
I've done most of my listening on my speakers (Technics SB-A52s) but my receiver recently died. My replacement receiver doesn't have a built in phono amp so I've decided to get the DarkVoice as an amp for that purpose, so it seems like a good time to get a good pair of headphones, as the DarkVoice is a headphone amp after all.

I have these old X32 turtle beaches that I want to use for my laptop and was wondering if it would be better to get a cheap adaptor or just get a pc headset?

Every headphone store?
I live in a city of less than 1 million people and there are several stores with them.

Thanks, seems like what I'm looking for.

get a good pair of headphones and an antlion

Turtle beach is honestly abysmal. You'd be better off buying decent headphones all together. Hell, even other Gaymeme headsets would be better.

Also, can't you just plug them in via a 3.5 cable? I'd imagine that would work.

They are x32. They only work for xbox. They have a 1.5 mm instead of 3.5 mm

>every headphone store

I only see bose, beats, sony and some other low end brand.

What is the name of the store you go to?

the fuck, that's retarded
You really would be better to just get something like the clouds
or an actual good set of headphones

Just a local DJ store
can't remember what its called, but i doub't it'd even help you if i did

Ya ik. Already orderd better headphones. Dont know if you were the guy but thanks for the help

Any ~50$ headphones with detatchable cables and good bass

Aune T1 Yay/Nay?

Lookin for an amp, is there any point in getting anything but e10k if my price range is only 100 range? Would I even hear a difference around that range? Magni is about 150, is it real or just a meme

For someone who's new to this shit, what do tube amps do different?

What headphones you are planning to use it with?

Dt770, thinking about upgrading to something else

I use this with my DT 770s and I love it:

smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KVVX2QW/

They fuck your shit up

What headphones did you get?
Check the last thread. People were talking about e10k alternatives like the smsl

What is the best non-in ear earphones under 200 burger pesos?

Yuan pk1/2?

What benefits does it offer over the e10k? Never seen this one. Looks pretty fucking big tho

Ahoy lads, just got my HE350's in the mail after waiting for a gorjillion years but I've run into the problem that I hear a hissing noise on standby. I havn't heard this before when I used my audiotechnica headphones. Does this mean I require an amp? or maybe a DAC? if so What's a good amp to power these headphones?

It has a power brick, so it can get louder/work with higher impedance headphones than the e10k. It also has a line in that you can plug another device in, I used to have a wii connected to mine, so I could switch to wii audio with the switch on the front. I am going to hook up the line in to an audio device passed through to my GPU passthrough VM, so that I can switch to the VM audio with the switch.

I have never tried the e10k, so I can't say how it compares. If you need it to be portable you should definitely go with the e10k, as it only needs USB.

Z22 turtle beach. Ik they arent the best but they were on sale from 80 to 20 bucks and i dont need anything fancy. Also like the comfort they have.

Is the E10k really compatible with the HD600?

The recommended ohms for the E10k are 16-150ohms and not up to 307 ohms. I've seen people say that you'd be missing out on 10-15% of the HD600's sound quality.

Its interference that your onboard DAC picks up from other components in your PC. An external DAC will fix that. [Unless your headphones are straight defective, but I highly doubt that.

It is.

This is supposed to work with up to 600 ohms (). It gets very loud with my 250 ohm DT 770s, and I always have the gain switch off.

You could also use the e10k as your DAC and get a separate amp.

>I've seen people say that you'd be missing out on 10-15% of the HD600's sound quality.
Those are the same people that say different cables and different colored ear cups will change the sound. You can't miss "percentange" of sound, unless it's actually clipping which it won't unless you set it to high gain and rotate the volume knob to almost max.

Honestly, at that price I can't really fault you. That said, for 17 more you could have got HD 681 EVO's which are actually really good budget cans.

yeahno youre not missing a 'percentage' of the sound. Impedance (Ohms) aren't really a measurement of too much in relation to whatever youre driving.

Any external DAC I should invest in? I'm pretty new to this so I don't know what the proper drive for the headphones is. My budget is 100 americano dollaridoos.

I'm looking for an amp for HD 650s and I'm currently leaning towards an O2 or a Magni 2, since they're about the same price and I don't want to break the bank. I know Magni is more powerful, but I don't plan to listen to anything above comfortable listening volume, so I'm guessing that doesn't matter much.

Is there any reason relating to audio quality to pick one over the other, or should I get something altogether different for this headphone? Note that I'm just looking for an amp, meaning it should have a line-level input, not a USB DAC/amp combo.

What headphones do you have?
There were discussions about budget dacs at the end of last thread and and a lil in this thread

Currently IMO the best budget DAC is the SMSL M3
Though if you want something a bit less bulky [its on your desk, it really shouldn't matter] the Fiio e10K is an option.

Using the HE350's would the SMSL M3 drive them well?

Will audiophile headphones get me a girlfriend?

Yes.

This isn't headphone related, but it is audio related.
I was wondering what solutions you guys use for desktop and TV audio.
I don't want surround sound. 2 channels is enough for me, but right now my desktop speakers are a bit clunky since I have two monitors and they aren't equally spaced in front of me. So there is this awkward speaker gap between them.
Also TV default audio sucks ass. I bought a used speaker system off someone for $10 but the audio it pumps out is overdriven, or too low.
Is there a solution for me? Yes I have good headphones already, but sometimes I like to go without something squeezing my head.

A little game: Which IEM goes to which graph?

Irrelevant question, but do IEMs offer the best sound quality out of every headphone (open, closed, iem, ear buds, overear, onear, whatever else). All those charts with amazing sub-bass response make me jelly as fuck. Even closed back headphones have a rolled off sub-bass

While the Magni 2 is more powerful than the O2, the O2 already has more power than you will need.
As such, get whichever is the cheaper option.

O2 it is then, I actually like it more from a subjective looks perspective too and since it's smaller I can find room on my pretty cluttered desk without rearranging shit.

You wrote all that and still couldn't manage to describe what it is you need.

Do you just want a pair of speakers to plug in to a receiver that works with your PC and TV?

Any old AV receiver with optical will do fine, as long as your pc has digital output. Just go to your local hifi or electronics shop and audition a few.

Do note that you can find stereo receivers or use a 5.1 receiver with only 2 speakers and a sub.

>All those charts with amazing sub-bass response make me jelly as fuck. Even closed back headphones have a rolled off sub-bass
That's because closed back headphones don't necessarily seal off the ear, they include vents at the driver or elsewhere. The requirement for bass extension to DC is an airtight cavity. Some open backed headphones do an okay job at sealing the ear tight, as do most in-ears.
If you lose the airtight seal, the infrasound and subbass goes away. IEMs are extremely vulnerable to loss of bass and even midrange. This is why you buy tons and tons of different eartips.

Can anyone recommend headphones like the grados sr80?

Koss Porta Pro

Hmm. How to put this because I don't even know what I want.

1. Less desktop clutter. Maybe something I can fit under or on top of my main screen?
2. With a volume knob preferably, but my keyboard has one of those as well so no biggie

as for my living room. I have absolutely no idea. I've got a 42" smart TV and all I use it for is netflix and multiplayer games. I just want something cheap and that will also fit on my small TV stand. Hell if I can velcro it to the back of the TV that would be cool. A remote to operate the volume would be nice too.

Does that help? I'm open to other suggestions as well.

K612 Pro?
L and F are the Panasonics which are the same.

>grado

Eat a bullet

personally the nature of an IEM only interacting with the ear cannal dulls some sounds that full-sized headphones do better, for me anyways. IEMs can have great bass extension, but the sense of impact is reduced and narrowed compared to a similar sounding headphone. it sounds like bass coming through a tube, which is exactly what it is. headphones and speakers do the feeling of bass better, even if they frequently have problems with extension.

let's not even put headphones and speakers in the same sentence when talking about bass.

I think C or J is the 7550, maybe a

I think bright would be the best since it puts an emphasis on the mids and highs.

>What's the best sound signature for orchestra music?
Bright.

You won't get a lot, if any, bright options in that budget as most cheap IEMs lean to very bass heavy.

>What's the best sound signature for orchestra music?
neutral, slightly warm or slightly bright imo. v-shaped, highly mid-centric, or janky/spiky FR is the worst I think, or any extreme example of a sig.

xiaomi hybrids are very bassy, though only mildly v-shaped. they're like the piston 2 with the treble spike reduced. piston 3 is hard to get now and fakes are everywhere but that would be the best for classical. most IEMs, especially at that budget, are going to be pretty v-shaped. if not the piston 3 get a tpod tt1e.

Dang, my previous pistons got stolen a few weeks back. The ones I see on Amazon are most likely fakes. Are there any online retailers still selling the genuine pistons?

Fucking Christ why do the mods allow inbreds like you to post nearly naked almost porn anime girls on a sfw board?

Hi Cred Forums I don't really know too much about headphones but I'm looking to replace my AKG K-701 as one of the drivers has broken.

I'm considering the K-702's but I'm interested in other recommendations. Budget is about $3-400. I listen to fairly wide variety of music but in particular a lot of dojin music.

I'm in Australia but I'll probably buy online.

Thanks

What do you mean by broken? What does it sound like? I'm also in Australia. What is dojin?

Anyone have any experience with Philips X2? Ive read nothing but good things about them.

>What is dojin?
doujin music is basically weeaboo trash music with the production value of a viper album.

You could look into the m40x's

My friend keeps saying HD600 and DT880 must have a tube amp.

Bottlehead Crack is having a sale. Should I stop using my O2+ODAC and use a Crack+ODAC?

Crack HD600 emphasises the mudheisser meme.

Just get HD600's because everyone on hpg likes it. I still don't know if this post is you.

K702's are cool though. I own both HD600 and K702.

What are the go-to IEMs for price to performance ratio? /csg/ seems to have lost its boner for zircons in favor of hybrids.

i seriously hope you don't mean xiaomi hybrids, because they are a worse piston 3

TTPOD T1E gets shilled freely a lot in /hpg/. It doesn't even have online measurements. So go with those.

I'm just telling you what the latest and greatest /csg/ meme is, daddy-o. I don't know anything about them.

I own zircons, and I like them, but they're a bit bassy. I think I'd prefer something closer to a neutral sound.

cheapest very neutral iem you'd probably be looking at is the ety mk5 or one of the cheaper kids models. most sub $50 iems are bass heavy.

>literally HD600 the in-ear

Measures like an ER4 with bass roll off.

and a dip in treble + hump in upper midrange so hd600.

en.goldenears.net/GR_Earphones/11177

We can't buy this IEM anywhere online? Wtf?

That has more bass roll off than HD 600 or 650, tonality closer to HD 650 and worse distortion. It is like ER-4 with a slight lack of seal.

>That has more bass roll off than HD 600 or 650
Delusional, the HD600 roll off just as much if not more.. It even has the midbass hump of the HD600/650.
>and worse distortion
Can you even read the distortion measurements? The 20hz goes a little over 1% while the hd600 sub bass distortion skyrockets.

Yes but it has a nice bassy response among its price point. Pretty balanced and it does the rise in upper mids right.

All you need to do is check HD 650 and HD 600 measurements on the same site. Yes I can and knowing how sub bass THD is almost always inaudible, I'm more worried on the midrange distortion which is very akin to ER-4 and considerably higher than the Sennheisers.

>is almost always inaudible
maybe with well engineered headphones, not the hd600 though.

Hello, in here looking for a new pair since the left side of my Piston 3's died as I yawned and stretched my hands. Never do that.

I got a budget of 200 euros, shipping to Finland. I don't really have a special amp for headphones, or converter, so flexing the budget so that I could include one. I have a home theater receiver for speakers, but it only has a 6.4mm jack and I'd prefer the 3.5mm.

I enjoy a lot of music with recognizable bass that doesn't try to push in front too much. My favourite genres are ambient, drone, "IDM" and shoegaze. So lower tones are nice, but nothing sub-bass level. I'm not too sure about soundshapes, I think a neutral is what I'm looking for.

I'd prefer closed back headphones if they fit in the budget. I want them to be comfortable as they would be on my head for hours upon hours every day, since headphones are what I primarily use anyways. My past experiences upon headphones have pretty much been the Superlux HD668b and Xiaomi Piston 3's, where in both I enjoyed the bass but I think the highs got a bit messy sometimes. Neither could hold too well on high volume either. They were a good bang for the buck though, but now I got enough money to support something better.

Oh yeah I would be connecting them to PC anyways so I guess I could be fine with a DAC converter as well?

Let it be known that the following proposition will not care about channel reservations and practicality as a mass produced product.

Wireless headphones.
Even with low latency aptx they have +40ms delay.

But what if you built a direct analog transmitter for the PCIe x1 bus and integrated the receiver + regular sound card in the headphones.

No complicated data conversions to aptx format and back=Less delay with lossless transmission?

Does anyone have a good advise for some headphones? (Will be the first time I invest in a good pair)
I am searching for a closed full-size from less than 100€ with the best comfort/quality/sound relation, the options are so much I don't really know what to choose

you could use one of those fm transmitter things for cars
in fact I might try that just for shits and giggles, I wonder if they give enough power

sennheiser hd215 maybe? Very comfortable, good sound with not too much bass, but pretty big.

Isn't the quality of the earpad kind of bad? The ones you need to worry about not putting any wet thing near them or they'll tear apart?

Thx m8

Is magni 2 worth it? Only driving some dt770s

Is there any reason other than cost to go with the m40x over the m50x?

People say that they sound better. They're supposed to sound a lot more neutral and not have a bloated low end.

is M6pro the best price/performance detachable cable IEM?

I've heard a lot of good things about some chinese iem's like the senfer ue and 4 in 1.

That's the AKG version, I have the regular version, it sounds superb. Subjective impression is has a flattish frequency response with lots of sub-bass, can be a tad bright at times on music with not a lot of bass impact.

Just get Etys, pham.

Out of production.

Is this some new meme? The sub-bass distortion in the HD600 is audible, if it was audible it would be a garbage tier headphone. You can also boost the shit out of it with an EQ and it won't distort, and yes it responds to EQ well because they seal well and the driver is capable of producing a lot of sub-bass, it's just that the acoustic design limits that in its stock form, just like most open dynamic headphones.

It's not just the HD600 too, you can boost the sub-bass and hear the effects on any other properly sealed open dynamic like DT880, HD558, etc.

Maybe DT250 80 ohm, fairly neutral, slight treble roll off, handles high volume listening well without becoming too bright. Fairly flat bass and midrange.

Just plug it into your motherboard, pham.

It has a coiled cable so maybe consider a headphone extension cable. No fancy cable required, any cheap one will do.

I think so. You get a lot of accessories.

>The sub-bass distortion in the HD600 is audible
*inaudible

is there any other better option for me @ $200 than the v-moda m100's?
>portability
>detachable cable
>somewhat bassy sound signature (i listen to rap & electronic)

>doesn't require an amp

any better headphones that fit this criteria?

Is the AKG 553 pro good? $120

Burden of proof is on the one who claimed that the sub-bass distortion is audible on the HD600.

The thing is well reviewed, if distortion was audible on such a well known production I'm sure many would have picked up on it.

the burden of proof is on the claimant which means both positions regardless of when the statements were made.

>The thing is well reviewed, if distortion was audible on such a well known production I'm sure many would have picked up on it.
how many is "many"? took me 5 seconds to find this on google.

That's just a bad unit. Doesn't mean it's the case for all.

lewd

I've had to return two bluetooth headphones now because they have the annoying flashing blue led light when they are powered on. Does anyone know of any wireless headphones without that?

Where do you lads buy your headphones from? For the past few years I have been using chink sellers to get them directly instead of buying rebranded/in actual stores but I always like seeing where other people purchase their own from.

amazon

not for 80 ohm

Probably C for the 5.5kHz treble peak.
sony gold headset
I'm new to audio stuff, so I have probably a really stupid question. I'm looking to buy a cheap DAC, and the one I'm looking at only has an optical or coaxial input. Would an optical to 3.5mm adapter going to my PC impact the audio quality in any way?

Hang yourself with the optical cable.

The point of a DAC is that it C's the D audio into an A signal, you shouldn't be running an analog cable (like 3.5mm) between your DAC and computer. The USB cable sends the D, and the DAC takes over from there, outputting to your speakers/headphones

A digital optical output would be fine, doesn't really make a difference over USB anyways, but that means for sure it'll need to be plugged into the wall

Recommend a good everyday headphone. Budget is 100-150$

would ER-4PT pair well with a warm DAC like the Cozoy Astrapi?

How come no one recommends the superlux 681 evo anymore? Is it consider shit now under 50? I remember people shilling them 2 years ago.

If +35 dolla ain't flexible to you, then you should maybe not use that word.

Also if you're so broke that you're flinching over 35 bucks, but not patient enough to just earn a little more, then maybe you shouldn't be spending money on headphones.

Kek

I recently tried my friends ath-ad700 and really enjoyed that airy feel, should I buy 700x?

I have beyerdynamic dt990 premium and I am ahving issues with the left ear cup im not sure what the fuck it is. I checked all the questions they look solid on the driver messed around with the entire cable and connection and cannot reproduce the crackling and having the left just stop working all together. Sometimes when its crackling I can kind of tap the cup and itll stop. It also is magically working right now

Lose wires at the drivers. Open the cup and move the wires while playing music. Its most likely the solder not touching the metal properly. Might have to solder it by yourself.

Yeah I did that but the sound wasn't turning off either. I move the wires around to see if they would turn the sound of but its not working. Also few minutes ago it stopped completely I decided not to move at all and turn the sound up just in the left ear it came back on but crackled a bit back to normal now.

The Superlux HD668B is alright, right?

Depends if you like treble rape.

How bad is it?

Quite.

Pretty bad honestly but apparently some people are not sensitive to it and think it's fine

Cheap build.

AD700x? Yes.

They're great if you want a warm, bassy, open headphone.
Don't have the same fidelity as HD 600's or whatever else, but for the quality of bass they have, it's pretty damn good.
The Sennheiser headsets if you can afford it.
If not, Hyper X Cloud Cores
cheap as fuck now and sound amazing. Build like a god.
If you don't mind the 'headband' system, yes. The best other alternative is HD 558's if you don't. Neither have amazing build quality.
Dunno, for the price they're pretty good. They're quite bassy, but they're definitely a fun headphone. The 662 EVO is a bit better if you want a bit of a cleaner sound.
Eh, no. Probably not for your use at least. The EVO series is a much better headphone for music/media consumption. The only thing the 558B does well is how crisp they sound. They're probably one of the best headphones cheaper than SHP9500's or HD 558's for vidya. I used them exclusively for CS:GO after getting velour AKG pads and put some felt in front of the driver. After that, they're comfy af, and have amazing soundstage, imaging, and separation.

>Don't have the same fidelity as HD 600's or whatever else, but for the quality of bass they have, it's pretty damn good.
How do they compare to the HD650? I've read that the 650 is bassier and EQs really well

I'd argue that SHP9500 is better than HD5xx simply because of their superior impedance curve.

HD5xx sounds awful on some sources.

This is a gaming headset.

And no, it's not a Sennheiser.

Can someone explain:
>bassy (boosted bass)
>warm (recessed treble)
>neutral (even bass and treble)
>bright (boosted treble)
>v-shaped (boosted bass and treble)
>mid-centric (recessed bass and treble).
Like what are these types of sounds? What kind of music/sound are these like?

This is the HD600 for comparison.

There is literally nothing wrong with gaming headsets.

Open your music player, play with the EQ.

Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum

pcgamer.com/we-tested-23-mainstream-gaming-headsets-to-find-the-best/

does Cred Forums still like the o2 amp and odac?

looks like the logitech g933

Okay, anons, I've got a 'holy grail' kind of question for you. What is the no-holds-barred absolute best neutral headphones and IEMs? What DAC/Amp would you use with them?

Doesn't compare even remotely. The difference between the 600 and 650 is minuscule compared to the X2 and either one.
The 650 is only marginally more bassy than the 600. I can't say anything about EQing them, but I'd imagine the 650's are no better at EQing than the 600's

Both are fairly flat. The X2's aren't at all.

Unless immediately swapping out from X2's to something like HD600's, you wouldn't notice much difference. Its minimal at best. If you do want warm, bassy, open headphones, go for the X2's. They're good.

I've never had issue with that, but I don't personally have bad gear. They sound fine on my phone too. I can imagine if they're using an old mobo's onboard sound then yeah sure, I could see that happening. The 9500's also have a tiny bit of weird fuzziness in the highs somewhere in my experience, and the 558's are more comfortable imo. I really don't like the material used on the 9500's earpads, but that's pretty subjective. Build quality is about the same. Senn's feel pretty clunky, but theyre a lot more robust than they actually feel. Still wouldn't bend them like crazy or anything. The metal in the 9500's is pretty nice.

comparing graphs means nothing other than they have the similar measured frequency response. doesn't give any idea in terms of sound quality. percieved sound matters more.

the g933 don't sound bad, but theyre so bulky and weird. earpads are kinda ech, and theyre built in a way that fuckin boggles me.
overpriced too, but if you get em on sale theyre probably not a bad buy.

Maximum comfy, I will probably wear these for hours at a time and don't want to strain my ears/head.

These will just be used for general computer use, Anything from music to movies to games. I just want something with good build quality, sounds decent, and feels good to wear.

I have no idea what the fuck bass is besides BWAAAAP and treble I have no clue.

This is the SR-009 which I'm not fond of, lacks gain in the upper mid area and it sounds a bit muffled to me.

>does Cred Forums still like
Are you high? /hpg/ always treats the O2 as the king of headphone amps. Better than anything more expensive. And worship NwAvGuy all the way.

you've never actually listened to them. also what amp did pcgamer use for the measurement? unlike dynamics and orthos, estats are much more reliant on a good amp, especially for the upper midrange/treble regions.

DT770 sounds good for you Built amazingly, comfy as fuck pads, and great sound quality. Good bass too if you like that. Only downside of them is non-detachable cable.
See if you can get Phillips X2 for cheap anywhere too. They'd be better unless you want closed.

Most other headphones in that range are either uncomfy, or built pretty grossly for some reason.

Google can help you with that.
Just google something like 'audiophile terminology' or whatever.

I did. The fact that you're asking what amp they used already tells me that you're a retard who thinks amp affects the sound quality.

The SR-009 is nothing special, its sound signature is entirely dependent on its frequency response which is nothing special.

Wait, Senns 558B?

>Phillips X2
shit I just missed a 50% sale on amazon

your post has just established your absolute lack of knowledge in how electrostatic amplifiers and headphones work and how they differ to traditional dynamics and orthos.

but yes, keep going on about how you know anything, you've listened to all the expensive headphones in the world because you can say it on Cred Forums and remind us of why we should be sucking nwavguy's dick some more.

>lack of knowledge

Oh the irony.

You asking about where I mistyped 668B as 558B or asking about some whimsical nonexistent Sennheiser headphone?

fuck that woulda been nice. wait it out if you want, and keep an eye out for other deals. That said, the sound difference between 770's and X2's won't be too massive. You could live with either.

why do you even bother posting when you don't have a clue of what you're talking about?

please do throw another 'oh le irony xD' response to really let me appreciate how uneducated you are.

>IEMs
ER4SR

>What DAC/Amp would you use with them?
Any decent solid state.

Idealy every amp would be perfect and sound the same, but that's not the case and a bad amp might indeed change how a headphone sounds, it's a bit autistic, but if user wants to know what amp was used during a measurement, you can't just dismiss the question as non-sense.

ER4SR and HD600.
Maybe an O2/ODAC combo.

The Shure open backs are more neutral than the HD600 but have high distortion, haven't heard them myself but one user has (I think the geeky user who posts here from time to time). When I asked him what was wrong when he listened to the Shures he said 'the distortion'.

>bad amp might indeed change how a headphone sounds
Literally stopped reading there.

but still cared enough to say so, you are quite the childish type, aren't you?

>you can't just dismiss the question as non-sense.
again, comparing the difference in solid state amps for dynamic/ortho headphones to an electrostatic amplifier is hilarious.

if the uneducated cunt had ever actually listened to the sr009 (or any other electrostat, really) he wouldn't be arguing this. but he's just some idiot with an e10k and hd558 trying to pose as an electrical engineer.

>I have no argument
>lemme shitpost and project him with his headphone equipment

Measurements don't tell the whole story

things like soundstage, imaging and detail means that you have to listen to the amps themselves

its so ironic that you have no idea what ur talkin about lol :)

for audio yeah
for vidya like csgo or battlefield where footsteps are where all you care about no

i'd get the takstars anyway just cause theyre actually comfy and built well
better than somics

Any weeb classical out there? Can anyone give me some recs?

Not saying measurements are everything, just posting some random ones since people so far only used variations of "i know this shit and you don't", maybe some data will contribute to a more interesting debate.

What is this you little closet weeb? Desuposting while not on Cred Forums? Your roundabout logic is making me very confused.

just calling out you cringy newfags who obsess over anime to the point where you're searching for music for the sake of it being from anime and being buttblasted to the next galaxy over somebody calling your favourite garbage shitty.

this isn't the hugbox you once knew on reddit, get used to it.

This is what warranty is for m8.

i had one and it expired a few months ago my dude

I listen to weeb shit occasionally on my $1400 speakers.

>$1400 speakers.
unimpressive.

I'm searching music due to the sake of it being orchestral, don't make up shit that never happened you dipshit.

I currently use the Superlux HD668B

What is the cheapest upgrade that is actually worth it? These things apparently have such a good sound quality for their price.

>Any weeb classical out there?
again, i recommend you kill yourself you worthless piece of shit.

Takstar hi2050
if you want to jump higher you would be looking at HD 558, SHP 9500's, or some other midrange AKG's n shit

I might be coming into a fair bit of money soon and I'm thinking of picking up a pair of HD 800S, Y/N?

PC Gamer (Maximum PC) used a STAX SRM-007tII.

Fun fact: All STAX amps sound the same.

It's also the same with the exotic aftermarket amps, they all sound the same.

That means that you have to kill yourself too my closet weeb friend in denial. At this point you are just arguing about yourself in circles.

What speakers do you own?

>backpedalling this hard
you were so confident in your search for music being unrelated to anime.

ones that someone wealthy enough can afford that doesn't feel the need to brag about $1400 speakers on an anonymous imageboard, thinking it's an impressive expenditure.

Why are you afraid to say the speakers that you own?

NEW THREAD

LCD-2s my boy.

And you were so confident in being part of the weeb hating wagon train that you didn't stop to think that you were one yourself.

Currently using Bluedio 8-Tracks, but they're sort of falling apart and the bluetooth doesn't work as a result, not that I used that much. Either way I need to plan for whenever no amount of tape can repair them anymore.

What's a good option for an over-ear upgrade if I want to keep the price below $150? I'd prefer to keep to something bass-heavy like the ones I'm using at the moment.

we'll let you keep thinking owning $1400 speakers makes you bill gates, wouldn't want to ruin it for you or deflate your ego.

Just get a stock HD800 or a Lambda system.

aside from not knowing what a weeaboo is, you lost the argument so hard now you're trying desperately to move the goalposts.
>LCD-2
and garbage recommendations to boot! good job you utterly retarded weeaboo cunt.

Don't care, just state what speakers you own.

DT770

post in new thread
you prolly wont get many replies in here atm

bluetooth?

next you'll ask for photos, then timestamps. i don't have time to go home to take photos of things just to solidify the idea that $1400 for speakers is not a huge expenditure.

now you'll tell me i'm copping out. that's fine.

Don't care, just state what speakers you own.

Even if you're lying or not.

Go on...

Keep telling yourself that son, won't cover up the mental abuse your parent's gave you.

This may or may not be the reason behind your self hating roundabout logic so you turn to watching anime for a false sense of security.

>aside from not knowing what a weeaboo is
aaaaand confirmed.

These look nothing like the original Piston 3s though. Xiaomi never made them in any color other than black and the design is completely different.

Got these for 40 dollars

Havent tried them yet- whats the general opinion on these taking the price into consoderation

Oh.. so did I buy fake ones? I still have time to cancel my order.

LCD-2s look very tempting

Would that be better than an LCD-2?

LCD-2s are heavy, uncomfortable and rolled off in the treble. Not to mention the build quality issues.
As for "better", that's preference. At least those suggestions can be worn for an hour without discomfort.
