It shares no source code with real UNIX at all. That was the whole point of the 386BSD project, that all the BSDs descend from.
It's not UNIX, and it's not legally allowed to be called UNIX. They had to rewrite a UNIX-like, because AT&T were going to sue them. It's as much of a UNIX as Linux-based systems are.
