I was and that is why I ditched the smartphone. Constant internet exposure ruined my memory as the urge to google everything and constantly rely on GPS maps, etc. took over traditional long-term retention.

I use my phone as a fucking phone, so going back to a dumbphone wouldn't be much of a problem. I'd miss the zune player on my Lumia though, I've gotten used to it so much.

I think I used it maybe once to access the net in a hotel, since I forgot to bring a book with me. And even that ate the battery on it like crazy (for what its worth, its a five years old phone, so crap battery is expected.).

It used to be handy in school to be able to text without looking at your phone. I guess it could be handy too while driving, so you can just glance at your phone when replying and then write the message without looking. Stuff like that.

And I definitely need to look at my phone when writing with touch keyboards. With physical keyboard you could feel what buttons you were pressing. On a touch screen you kinda have to guess.
