Why don't they just ban passengers from bringing lithium batteries in the passenger cabin on planes altogether? It's not unreasonable to expect a person to be able to go without access to their phone/tablet for a few hours

ONE TABLET
Come back when you have more

SAMSHIT

People are rigging them up to explode. Mostly AppeShills trying to make them look bad and making a sorry attempt to put them out of business

>1 guy does something bad with X
>ban X
great logic, fampai

Trust gooks get cooked

how long was the flight?

How though?

Genuinely asking, what would a custom ROM need to make a device explode?

thats literally everything on planes.

Does Samsung actually manufacture their own batteries or do they outsource like just about every other end-product technology company?

What factory shit out a batch of bad batteries recently?

SAMSHIT HOUSEFIRES

It's most likely a replaced battery. Some idiots buy these extremely unstable "high capacity" batteries thinking they're great value.

I'm pretty sure every single phone company outsources the actual manufacturing process.

>implying burning batteries - be it user fault or manufacturing fault - are single cases. It happens a lot, certainly enough to warrant a ban.

Samsung does both. They have their own battery division, but extend their capacity with external contracts.

>shit like that only happens with low quality devices from apple and samsung

Feels good to be part of the blackberry masterrace

look we know apple owes 5 billion to the Irish government,
but just stop trying to ruin samsung
we now know you had someone sabotage the phones batteries in the factory
but samsung are still going strong, so just stop

Fuck, this is manly as hell. You can light a cigar with your Samsung devices now. That is what I call true innovation, fuck you apple fanboy! Lets see when you get a lighter on your phone or tablet.

Do they make their own batteries or do they get them from a third party battery manufacturer? If third party, who the fuck is it so we can try and avoid them?

i miss 2005.

it looks like the battery was physically damaged, in which case it doesnt matter who made it. if you punch holes in lithium batteries theres a decent chance theyll get hot/catch fire/explode with the force of 1000 suns etc

>samshit

literally irish logic

INDUSTRIAL SABOTAGE BY APPLE

does anyone actually care about or take this shit seriously other than Applefags grasping for straws?

literally how air safety regs are made
>shit literally happens
>make rule literally to stop shit happening again

no, just ban Samsung products

Don't they know that smoking while on an airplane was banned a long time ago? Fucking Koreans.

You do realize that Samsung makes parts for Apple and other companies (mainly chips and memory), so if Samsung products are banned, then all the products that use something manufactured by them, would also be banned.

Were spontaneously combustible tablets part of your plan?

not ereader, laptops, any phone
are you retarded or working for printmedia
probably both

if you ban lithium batteries in the cabin, people are going to stow them inside luggage underneath the plane.

Other hazardous materials such as inflammable materials or pressurized cans can also not be brought, but this is acceptable. You don't NEED to bring a Butane camping stove or fireworks with you. A laptop is different. People really want to take laptops with them.

The most practical (not safest, mind you) solution is to equip all airplanes with a thick 'safety box' you can throw a tablet/laptop/powerbank into and forget about it. Once at destination, hand box over to fire brigade and fine the owner. Ban lithium batteries over a certain volume that could break the box from the inside. Disallow people to bring lithium batteries in the stowaway luggage compartment, only in the cabin so that devices can be identified while in the smoking stage and safely contained.

Or you could ban Li-polymer batteries and only allow Li-ion, since the former have more gas/explosion problems.

That is where you're wrong. The apple shills will just line up to buy their iphone 8 that will release with a 20% price markup and 10% performance downgrade due to having to find replacement manufacturers in a short timeframe.

Disable the autoshutdown and under volt the battery. Though there's probably more hardware based protection. In a nutshell. Nothing.

>pinch/crunch/bend device with liion battery
>act surprised when it starts to smoke

God i hope fuckers dont start acting like this was anything but user error.

truthfully this is the only way to contain a lithium fire sense its chemical based. there is the issue of the toxic smoke though.

>tfw Samshit cancer will die in your lifetime

Lmfao if you think that's true, you're fucking deluded. We get it, you only like Apple, and can't believe people use other brand technology.

>it's thought the faulty batteries; manufactured by Samsung SDI a subsidiary of Samsung, may have been assembled in Kaesong Industrial Zone, a special administrative industrial region of North Korea.

samsung got dat hot fiya

This is why you should stick with Apple

As an airline pilot, we are trained (well we are told how the Flight Attendants) are to fight various fires. A Li-Ion battery fire in a cargo compartment would be the worst case scenario.

When lithium-based batteries have thermal runaway, the only solution is to cool them off with liquid. Cargo compartments in planes use Halon bottles. The halon will put out most fires, but will not cool lithium batteries and will therefore continue to burn.

You want lithium batteries in the passenger cabin, not in the cargo compartment (that is, unless they're banned completely, which won't happen).

FWIW, I carry my Samshill Galaxy S5, a spare battery, an iPad, and a 60WH HyperJuice battery charger (the latter two provided by the airline for navigation charts and other business resources) all in the flight deck. Of course the FO has much of the same...

>Cargo compartments in planes use Halon bottles.

What? Halon is a CFC and production was banned in 1994 on a global scale through the Montreal Protocol, a UN resolution. The only way to buy Halon is through canisters made prior to 1994.

There is now way any airline is relying on having a steady supply of a product discontinued 22 years ago as its fire prevention method.

>>People are rigging them up to explode.

>"CLEARLY the culprits are APPLE'S user base on internet forums, swiping people's Samsung devices from their pockets on the streets, installing a custom explosive battery management ROM and replacing their data and settings all in under 6 seconds before placing phones back into pockets/handbags."

>not perhaps Samsung having factory issues

This is one of the most delusional things I've seen in my 8 years of Cred Forums. I strongly recommend you get yourself seen by a mental health expert. I can't even call you retarded, that doesn't begin to cover it.

Kek'd. Another Death Note.

Nobody would miss Samsung if they were gone. In fact, I would say it would be a plus for the smartphone industry as there would be no more ShitWiz anymore.

Samsung phones, they're the bomb!

Came here to say this. Samshit has become a real threat. It must be banned.

FN200/kiddie clean agent are the actual products used today, at least in datacenters.

Halon is just what everyone calls a gas based fire suppression system.

Clearly this is a conspiracy against Samsung™ and their products. Samsung Galaxy™ products are manufactured to the highest quality and undergo rigorous quality assurance before they reach the market. This is an attempt to sway a small proportion of undecideds on looking at the far worse iPhone 7.

Do not fall for conspiracy related nonsense and photoshopped or rigged photos. Purchase Samsung™ today.

>Samsung phones explode
>Samsung tablets explode
>Samsung washing machines explode

Next: Samsung freezers explode.

well there was this one time on 4 airplanes brown people did some crazy shit with boxcutters but i can see why we shouldn't ban those because of 1 instance.

>Devices exploding or catching on fire is acceptable because I don't like the opposing brand.

Work in retail / service. Can confirm Samsung washing machines exploding. Funny as fuck.

>nobody gave a fuck when apple phones exploded

why the fuck

>The tablet had become jammed under a seat in premium class and left under a seat cover
The device was physically damaged and in a poor situation where heat would build up. This can happen for basically any similar type device (for example the guy biking who fell on his iPhone).

>All these mad Samshills itt blaming Apple when it has nothing at all to do with Apple
Pretty hilarious desu

>Isis thread

>youtube.com/watch?v=i1UFVKuqxGk

What the fuck lol, this shit is hilarious and seems like its a design failure, is it that the top of the washers are not strong enough or are too strong and causes detachment? wtf

>Never would have thought of that Diane

>youtube.com/watch?v=1IuCxwknS4g

hahahahaha

>1 guy kills 6 million jews one time
>ban killing jews

Fucking Allies logic

This is samdung getting payback from g-d for ditching 10" 16:9 screen on tab s series.
Fuck samsung

I know, why don't we just ban people from airplanes. Cut out the middle man. Literally.

>tfw people exist who are so functionally retarded that they require those unnecessary subtitles

because they want customers

inb4 nwo does this to promote trains

this happened at least once with 1st or 2nd gen mba's too. I remember they had to do a firmware update to fix it.

its not samsung, its just that lion batteries are really challenging

Long haul flights would be so fucking boring.

Everyone and their mom jerks off Apple. Of course they'll shrug off anything bad that happened to iPhones.

Airline worker here. The Note 7 in particular is specifically banned already at all IATA airports because of the battery defect.

You can't even ship them back to Samsung as cargo because again, banned as a fire hazard.

Very good post Lu Kwang extra ration for your family today.

For fuck sakes Samsoong, get your shit together...
>also washing machines are exploding now
>my reaction

We should ban all guns and knives from everywhere too. There's been more than one case of stabbing and shooting.

USB-C was a mistake

Here's some big insider info.

Samsung has deliberately done this to shake up their shares so they can move money out of the states without anybody noticing a trend.

You heard it here first folks.

Venting lithium batteries will fuck your lungs up. The fire is the lesser hazard here.

How else would they bring their devices with them after the trip? I'm not gonna travel and just leave my phone behind.

You're the kind of retard who would ban guns, RC planes, quadcopters, and literally anything else that's remotely useful just because an incredibly small and statistically meaningless group of people can potentially do something wrong with them.

tl;dr you're a fucking retard and you don't even know it.

>TAKE YOUR PLANE PILL
>CONTROLLED BREATHING
>NO BLINKING
>STARE FORWARD AND DO NOT STRUGGLE AGAINST YOUR RESTRAINTS
>THANK YOU FOR TRAVELING WITH ENLIGHTENED FREEDOM TRAVEL (TM)

A world without thought, where those who control everything commit to knee jerk reactions like the word of God. What a terrible place.

>all thise cracks on a screen.

Shill, its obviously got damage heavily as fuck. Looks like someone tried to break it with a hammer, no shit the battery will go haywire.

Guise, even their washing machines are exploding!

>that damage wall

Doubt it. Probably put a boulder in the machine.

I dunno why these guys suffer class action suits when they could just offer to repair all the damage and give them a new device. Cheaper that way really. Instead, they pay lawyers tons of money to screw their customers.

Feels like people just want to take advantage of Samsung so they are making up with all these stories for free fame.

>a few hours

You mean 14 hours? That is length of my average flight.

And what? Am I supposed to leave my phone at home? I'd be fucked when I finally arrived.

>about to buy Samsung external hdd
>look closer and says it's actually Seagate

the Samsung jews rebranding Seagate dogshit almost got me

>quality
>samsung
pick one

>Cheaper that way really.
Look up Ford Pinto on Wikipedia.
