Why would you still use firefox? Seriously

Why would you still use firefox? Seriously.

It's too fucking slow

I care about privacy and customization more than I care about how fast it loads a big pile of tabs on startup.

I don't start the browser that often anyways, I leave it running for long periods.

its fast for me bro. guess your puter sux cock

I don't. Like most people I switched to Chrome years ago.

I use Palememe now because newer Firefox versions suck ass.
Palememe sucks in it's own way too, but at least it's not slow and doesn't crash all the fucking time.

>thinks a company full of SJWs could create a secure product

dude....

It's JavaScript that really slows down FF and the "modern" web is full of useless scripting that most just tracks you. I use Noscript so most pages are broken when I load them, but I can still access the text and pictures which is mostly what I care about, usually in Firefox's article view mode which strips out the bullshit nicely.

Proper sites gracefully degrade when scripting is disabled, like Wikipedia. Everything works without JS, it falls back to a simpler design when it can't run scripts.

Webdevs have gotten lazy and complacent and it's made the web a malware spewing, privacy invading, mess. There's almost no reason to ever use JS. HTML/CSS is fine for text and pictures which is most content. I think even video can be done now without JS so there's no excuse. It's all adtracking that's driving bloated websites.

I can turn off mozilla's telemetry and shit in about:config. my distribution turns some of it off for me already.

Chrom[e,ium] tries really hard to talk to Google and there's really not a damn thing you can do about it. I don't think Google should get to know what sites I visit, what I do there, or anything about me, really, and I don't feel like going to the trouble of blocking their ten million domains and IPs in /etc/hosts or at the router.

also Chrome looks like Chrome and that's what you get. FF looks like the same pile of ass that Chrome does stock, but it has Classic Theme Restorer to fix that, unlike Chrome.

>noscript

Sorry but my time is too valuable to click "allow script" 50 times before shit works

I really wish it could support self-destructing cookies, it's such a pain to go and delete the ones I don't want every single time.

most of the shit on the modern web is better off *not* working. Most of the JS is third-party tracking that should stay broken.

also if you ask me preventing video and animations from functioning is one of the biggest reasons to kill JS by default.

>my time is too valuable
>Posting on Cred Forums
Hmmmm.

This is the future you asked for.

>Windows 10
What's the point of blocking tracking if you're using Tracking: The OS?

I dont have to allow any scripts here

Shit just works. Faggots who are paranoid about "MUH SCRIPTZ R SPYING ON ME" ignore the fact that everything you say and do on the clearweb gets recorded anyway

Frankly, if it doesn't work without me having to click "allow script" 50 times, then the site is probably not worth your time to begin with.

>pic related
Why do you need this much shit on your site?

Recorded by who? I'm not concerned with the They People, just Google.

>muh speed
Nice meme. Chromium could render web pages instantaneously and it'd still be shittier than Firefox. Regardless I don't see why people use Fx either, SeaMonkey's the best choice that still receives updates.

>>Why do you need this much shit on your site?
ads, ads, ads, ads, ads, ads, four different analytics packages to target those ads, a real time bidding system to choose the ads in real time, and then a few more ads.

90%+ of the JS on the web has nothing to do with functionality. It's all ads. There's no reason to let it run at all.

That's not a screenshot I took, but it's Windows 7 anyway.

Most of those are tracking scripts that do absolutely nothing for the site's functionality. Cloudflare is a CDN (and a tracker). Embed.ly hosts media files and uses script to embed them with their own GUI (which also tracks you) sort of like the YT player

You're not wrong, however there's no proper alternative. Chrom* isn't worth using. Qutebrowser is decent but very lacking in a lot of features I'm used to now from firefox extensions, such as images getting big when I hover over them, or enhancement addons like Cred Forums x.

tried umatrix instead of noscript, had tons of leaks

manual auth ftw

mitigation vs abandonment

OP I think you are just retarded.

Do you really need that many fucking tabs to load at once? Fucks sake grow up.

Tree style tab

freedom

Why is it even so slow?
Are they using bubble sort and linked lists for everything?

Why use Chromium if it's still botnet?

Is this with the multiprocess support turned on or off? It's usually off by default, though they're slowly rolling the feature out to more users.

Well for one, to not contribute to Chrome's dominance. Remember the old ie days? Competition is good. Same reason I buy AMD instead of Intel. Call me a retard if you will.

>to not contribute to Chrome's dominance
Fucking this

Wow, I guess I should switch to Chrome for all those times when I need to open like >50 tabs once.

Because it comes bundled with alot of distros and im not d/l a browser everytime i boot a live stick.

Sites that rely on cloud flare and other CDNs simply don't work if they're blocked. I use noscript but end up enabling 50-75% of scripts anyway becausd otherwise shit is just broken.

same, im running for about 40 hours at a time and i can't recall a time it has ever crashed or become unstable

I use both, firefox for porn that self cleans up cookies/session/browser history after closing, and the chrome for every day normal stuff.

>having all those tabs open at once like a dumbass
This is why bookmarks exist, retard. Use them.

most of the time it's ajax from cloudflare or google, get decentraleyess and enable the ajax script on umatrix or noscript, decentraleyess will substitute the script instead of downloading it

while we are here and talking about firefox + plugins

DOES ANYBODY KNOW what the linux mint firefox addon that comes with the distro actually does ?

Last time I used it to try a thing with some script it was an awful experience after all this time using palemoon
Like, what the hell is going on? I just wanted to browse the web, isnt that what a browser is supposed to do? Why does it feels to hard and slow to do it with it?

>cluttering your bookmarks
>calling others retarded
kek. Fuck off, moron.

Test Edge next

Here's some FF addons to make your life easier, OP.

Image Picker
Imagus

>It's too fucking slow
I don't know how you maintain your system in general, but Firefox is very snappy over here.

Presto is dead
Browser Gods have forsaken us

>tfw the best browser is three years old

Tree Style Tabs
No one has ever made a legitimate replacement for it on any other browser. It's sad.

>tfw SeaMonkey can't into TST

Only reason I don't use firefox is simply the lack of a good sandbox

I know. I like Seamonkey, but I can't replace it with Firefox, because after opening several tabs, it becomes a chore to work with.

This basically. The alternatives on chrome and shit are extremely inferior. I can't browse without tree tabs anymore

I dont know about you but firefox and chrome run exactly the same on my old laptop

>Why would you still use firefox? Seriously.

Because I can do almost - as in 99% - of what I want to do with it which obviously includes customization even in spite of what Mozilla is stripping out in that respect.

Chrome? Stupid fucking download bar that pops up and I have to manually remove it? Tabs on top and can't move them? Non-customizable interface?

There are lots of reasons I will continue to use Firefox, and the only one that really matters?

It's not Chrome.

I like google chrome because I don't have to log in to anything ever

I was audibly upset at how slow Firefox was in this. Firecucks have no idea what they're missing.

My firefox has been crashing non-stop for a couple of days now.
No idea what's causing it. Chrome seems to work fine

It's customize-able.

It doesn't use Blink.

True, you remember there good old day where webdev usually create a site with non javascript compatible browser. Now some site don't even load the fucking content without javascript enable.

Because Firefox has Pentadactyl, uMatrix, Self-Destructing Cookies and plenty of other addons that I can't imagine using the internet without.

It's the only way to run an adblocker on an unrooted phone.

You can do manual blocking in umatrix, you globally deny all then manually allow stuff same as noscript.
