Why do YOU visit Cred Forums?

What do you get out of it? Do you enjoy arguing with autists? Do you like the unique community?

What is it exactly that brings you back to Cred Forums?

For me its the fact circlejerking and self-promotion pretty much doesn't exist here, and if it does, its easy to ignore.

desktop threads

to fish

the only consistently fun, interesting threads. 98% of everything else is graphics cards and phones.

It's either talking with autists here or talking with uninteresting normies about shit i don't give a fuck.

I'll pick the autism.

>For me its the fact circlejerking and self-promotion pretty much doesn't exist here, and if it does, its easy to ignore.

lol wut??

Anyway, I come here because why the fuck not, seems like there aren't any other websites that aren't literally just ads disguised as personal reviews, most communities either no longer exist or migrated to subreddits.

What the fuck happened to forums? Maybe I need to get back into IRC.

blogging and counter-jerking are the highlights of my Cred Forums experience

agreed

I don't know about you, but I'm still enjoying forums just fine.

Nostalgia from when it wasn't shit, mostly.

It's still fast paced; even if it's the same boring bait over and over some times.

Started off in 2004 as a Cred Forumstard, until 2007-2008ish where the chanology movement was not really there anymore. Switched to Cred Forums until 2010-2011 but left it because studying, working and partying filled up my time. Returned in 2012 just to see sharethreads where gone, so i switched to Cred Forums as it felt more Cred Forums at the time than Cred Forums itself.
Was here for occasional argumenting but shifted towards shitposting the last months. Lately not even this is fun here anymore. I think i'm going to leave Cred Forums once and for all after i discovered today.
>tl;dr normalfags overrun the place and killed the lulz

I go to reddit to read content and not really contribute outside of more niche sub's. Large sub's are incredibly shitty and your comment is likely to go unnoticed.

I go to Cred Forums to communicate about areas that interest me. People don't have a reputation to uphold here and posts are deleted after a short time. It is a lot more open communication here even if it does devolve into shitposts frequently.

Facebook, Twitter, Slack, etc. is too normie.
Reddit, Tumblr, etc. get triggered too often.
Cred Forums is a place where you can be a faggot among other like minded autists. I can say whatever I want and not worry about offending other people, or having it come back to me.

I know of no other interesting sites. I have been here for 9 years and have become severely addicted.

I just lurk threads that I find mildly interesting, whether it's technology-related or perhaps something I've been watching lately, add to the discussion here and there, and occasionally shitpost to pass time if I have nothing better to do. I don't even argue with people and don't get why people get as pissy as they do sometimes.

same goes for Cred Forumsidya, I miss those threads in old Cred Forums when you could share stuff
the image modification threads, two good boards with these threads to pick up photoshop and gimp tricks
desktop threads
happening threads

Cred Forums specifically? I have no fucking clue. I guess I just like seeing all the shit being flung over arch and systemd

for Cred Forums in general the primary reason would be because it makes me laugh. Not cause of the memes that everybody talks up, but just the way people talk; you get to see some very creative insults from time to time.
I've also gotten a lot of useful info from here. I only came across what are now my 2 favorite video games because of Cred Forums, I've been introduced to many awesome bands because of Cred Forums sharethreads (sound threads on Cred Forums were good for this too while they were around), Cred Forums introduced me to one of my two favorite cartoons and actually gave me an idea for a Cred Forums related project which, now that I'm not employed and am working on that project all the time, has come to be one of my favorite pet projects which could actually turn into a cool website.

I like baiting retards

Unfiltered discussion

I work in a technical field, but mostly on hardware. Cred Forums lets me keep in touch with the latest meme languages, and I occasionally hear about things I never would have otherwise.

The repetitive threads get irksome, but occasionally you see a good point or insult come through.

Call it autism or whatever, but i consider the people here somewhat passionate and it's usually those people who uncover the gems that would have been buried otherwise.

That, and I hate karma/voting systems. It only amplifies the circlejerks.

Desktop threads are not allowed.

>Why do YOU visit Cred Forums?
facebook is boring and full of dumb normalshit

>What do you get out of it? Do you enjoy arguing with autists? Do you like the unique community?
is what brought me to Cred Forums. it opened my eyes to so many things. i finally understood how the world works. I still check top threads on there every day but don't participate much since I find it boring now that I understand how it all fits together.

I came to Cred Forums because I'm a programmer.

>What is it exactly that brings you back to Cred Forums
No need to login.
No red envelope at the top telling me I need to argue some shithead who replied to me.
No need to pretend and "build up" my account.
No need to lie about shit because you don't want others to know what you REALLY think.
Easy to ask questions and answer others in need.

Oh, and I've always loved anime and given that Cred Forums is an anime site, I fit right in.

That basically sums up my Cred Forums experience.

Like what?

circlejerking most certainly does still exist and for Cred Forums it's the main reason why I come back - I want to see it viciously explode when it's picked apart. It strengthens me because I used to have hipster ideas until I got a clue and realized it wasn't worth it and all of that is dropout shit for attention.

Best example is retro threads and BSD generals. when nobody responds for a while and they repost their own shit they start to get courageous but then someone else shows up and posts the most common fact, for example how you can't even render html or have any hope of posting on Cred Forums on retro garbage and they don't use it for anything besides taking pictures of, and how bsd has less than 1000 installs in the whole world and is stolen by big corporations and nothing is given back while you can make six figure salaries learning linux.

inevitable response is always "fuck off" which means it's a circlejerk. It's soooo hilarious to see the same people be super vocal about how Cred Forums is superior because "it isn't reddit and how circlejerking isn't possible" but then you get 3-4 babies together and they remake reddit right here on Cred Forums for its topics and by the end of the thread, 80% of the posts are "fuck off" because they and everyone else knows they are hipsters and just doing this for attention and don't really give a shit about whatever they are pretending to do. /o/ has the same fun with stancefags in which they show up and stay for days pretending that they're having fun but get fucking destroyed by even the most casual autotragic soccer mom minivan driver.

It is fun to watch every single last time, and that is why I will never leave. I want to be here and see in real time retarded hipsters fall straight on their face as everything they post is ripped apart. They then always claim they were just trolling everyone but again put real effort into their posts for fucking months and during working hours so it's obvious they are just that desperate for attention.

Wrong board you recent homosexual. This has nothing to do with technology. Go back.

Best thing about the site now.

People tell what they think even if their opinion is "unpopular". And i like wikis on some boards i visit. They helped me.
And here you don't have avatar and plus circlejerking.

I go on Cred Forums to tell you fuckers not to waste your time writing code on shitting compilers.

Trolling freetards/poorfags

You and types like you are newfags. It's obvious. We all know.

getting deals, coupon codes and reviews for chink shit I want to buy. csg is the only thread I pin

You're probably going to think I'm trolling, but I like the people here I think they're wonderful. I helped out anons here sometimes, and got helped out by other anons when I really needed it. You guys also helped me cheer up when I had a bad day. I cherish the memories I have on this site.

I bet you pay for books, movies, music, software, and everything else while I get just about any of them for free. It doesn't make you better to pay for shit I get for free, it actually shows you're dumber especially because you take pride in having to pay money. What am I saying, you don't even buy books. You don't even read books.

This is my first post but I want to share something personal. Even though the majority will disagree, I really like technology. I first got in touch with technology when I was 6 years, I was helpless but I believed in myself and I've used Mac computers ever since. Upvote if you like technology.

+1

>What do you get out of it?
Nothing as of late. I spend more time pretending to inform myself about shit thana actually doing and learning properly.

>Do you enjoy arguing with autists? Do you like the unique community?
I enjoy the occasional, or rather frequent shitpost.

>What is it exactly that brings you back to Cred Forums?
Endless novelty. Though sometimes it feels the exact opposite.

Thanks for reminding I should have left months ago.

Edit: thank you so much for the gold you kind lovely sir!

I think it's partly because I have no friends irl and partly because I'm legitimately addicted to it. I can't go one full day without checking the catalogue. I NEED to know what I'm missing at all times.

>paying for Cred Forums silver

Mostly the news and porn. I gave up trying to find interesting posts or anything resembling an educated discussion years ago.

>Cred Forums opened my eyes
and you've orbited my sides

>Do you enjoy arguing with autists?

That's pretty much it.

I like the anonymous and ephemeral nature of the site. Here you can just say whatever you want without having to over think it. Of course that kind of thing invites trolls, but I think there's also honesty in here because there are no repercussions. In here you are judged based only on what you post, and not who you are or the reputation of your account. It's easier for me to talk to people here than talking to people in real life, even if it's just banter I find enjoyment in it. I also like sharing what little knowledge I have with others.

I visit Cred Forums because it's a good read
