Why not Lenovo zuk z2 instead?
Much cheaper, also 1080p so much better performance too.

It's $250 iirc.

Debated between this and OP3.
Got the OP3 instead, here's why:
>No plastic, unlike the speaker grills on ZTE.
>I don't need 2K display, 1080p is fine.
>Better build quality, looks better.
>Front fingerprint sensor.
>OxygenOS shits over Axon's OS.
>Custom ROM support.
>Better community, unlocked bootloader.
>Illuminated front keys.

I do wish it had Axon's DAC & front facing speakres though.

OP3 has better firmware and as far as I'm concerned it's all that counts. Mi5s will be a better value anyway.

>no micro sd slot
You fucked up big time bruh. You're gonna feel salty as shit when 256GB micro sd cards go down to $100 in a few months.

If you manage to get one, it will have Chinese as it's default language when you turn it on.

Except it fucking won't.

And if it does, I'm sorry you're too tech illiterate to change the language in Android.

this

Plus unlocked bootloader is already an option on axon 7. Maybe the community isnt as big but it will get there

>OP3 has better firmware
No it doesn't. You're ignorant of ZTE's recent update for the Axon 7 that fixed the firmware, the camera and the reception.

pocketnow.com/2016/09/19/zte-axon-7-update-improves-reception
>two sources at the bottom.

You seem emotionally attached to Lenovo zuk z2. Any particular reason?

Show me a link to a Lenovo zuk z2 that is currently intended for English speaking markets.

Do you seriously expect me to use stock ROM?

gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8038&idPhone2=8067

seems to be missing a lot of features the Axon 7 has, user. Especially in the LTE bands.

Who cares the intended market? It's cheap, it's powerful, gets good battery life and the rom supports English.

It also has custom roms in xda if you don't like the stock one.

I've had my 64GB OnePlus One forever and I've never had to worry about space. If you hoard data on your phone, you're an idiot.

it doesn't have a 2k screen
it doesn't have a MicroSD slot
It doesn't have dual front facing stereo speakers
It doesn't have a 20 MP camera (only 13 lol)
It doesn't have 32-bit/192kHz audio
It doesn't have Dolby Atmos
It doesn't have a 3250 mAh battery
It doesn't have the following LTE bands
>LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 29(700), 30(2300), 41(2500) - USA

lol, it doesn't have NFC.

>It doesn't have a 20 MP camera (only 13 lol)
Because megapixels matter so much.
There is a very high chance it's the Sony 20MP sensor that basically shows no more detail at 20 than at 8MP.

>very high chance

seems legit. you've convinced me.

It has KFC.

those front facing speakers are really fucking loud. Take how loud you imagine they are and double it.

There are precious few sensor manufacturers left, user

The BlackBerry Q10, Classic, and Passport are all cheaper and better phones. Hell they're better than any Android or iOS flagship.

>only

must be nice being rich

being able to afford $400 on a device you'll use for a few years makes you rich

>For only $399?
The Axon 7 costs like 150 bucks more than the OnePlus 3 in my country. Therefore I'm pretty satisfied with my OnePlus 3.

>$399
>budget

>dual sim

Surefire way you'll get a pajeet-tier phone.. Also enjoy your permanent 3G connection

Same, SD cards never tend to work well enough on Android. You can't put all apps on it. It's slow. And barely works for data either.

Fuck, I've managed just fine with 16 gig phones for years.

Nice build quality, even the picture shows loose volume/power buttons.

Still haven't formatted my 32GB nexus 5. I tend to hover around 17GB personal data after almost 3 years.

At least your N5 still works.

My camera OIS died, along with my mic and sim reader :/
RIP

>No plastic, unlike the speaker grills on ZTE.
You're not going to put liquid armor on it anyways?
>I don't need 2K display, 1080p is fine
I make VR apps in unity. I have to have 2k
>Better build quality, looks better.
nope. you won't understand until you actually hold an Axon 7 in your hand.
>Front fingerprint sensor.
Subjective. It's a valid point
>OxygenOS shits over Axon's OS.
They both use Marshmellow. OxygenOS is merely a custom Marshmellow.
>Custom ROM support.
androidauthority.com/zte-axon-7-unlocked-bootloader-709212/
>Better community, unlocked bootloader.
Bigger community. I'll give you that. But the bootlaoder can be unlocked now. There is a forum to request the unlock on the website. Oneplus supporting a warranty after unlock is unprecedented, though
>Illuminated front keys
After a month, are you really going to need that?

You forgot to mention that the OnePlus 3 has 6 gigs ram vs the Axon 7's 4 gigs ram.

Oneplus helps devs to integrate features from the official ROM to custom ROMs. Now THIS is unprecedented. It already has so many custom ROMs/kernels that many phones never achieve in their life.

>1440p
>memeoled
>probably shit internal storage
>maybe 1 android update
>dual sim that takes up battery space
>memeR
absolutely dropped

>Having $500 in the bank for emergencies can give you a sense of financial security but for 41% of adults, it's still a pipe dream
creditdonkey.com/average-american-savings-statistics.html

So yeah, considering that 41% of the population couldn't handle a $500 *emergency*, a $400 phone is pretty much out of reach.

Not justifying it though, it really is a sad state of affairs.

>ripping on the best display technology currently available in phones

Still doesn't make you rich to be able to afford that. I could've afforded a more expensive phone when I worked at McDonald's.

RIP.

My friends nexus 4 digitizer died last year, I'm helping him choose a chinkphone because he discovered them recently.

*ahem*

Red. Mi.

I'm not saying it makes you rich, I'm just explaining why people would feel that way.
Rich is also a pretty subjective term, I could go buy a $1000 iPhone 7 plus right now and not even feel it, but I am by no means rich.

You also probably weren't living on your own while working at McD's.

>You also probably weren't living on your own while working at McD's.
But I was

>400$ for all this shit you don't need

>But I was
Now I'm curious, how would you have paid for that?

As a full time min wage employee, you make around $1300/mo

>$500 rent (roommate)
>$200 food
>$120 car insurance
>$40 gas
>$100 average maint
>$75 utils
>$60 cable/cell phone
>$30 household supplies
>$250 food

and you just barely eek by.

Unless, of course, you forgo a lot of things and just eat lentils and don't have a car.

No way is the camera better than the OP3.

I was making $1.50 over minimum wage
>$600 rent, utilities included
>$20 food (basically lived off McD's, which I got for free)
>maybe $10 or $20 in gas just to visit friends in nearby cities, skated to work
>don't remember what utilities cost but it wasn't much
>no cable, no phone
>$20 Internet
>$50 to $100 a month on other stuff I needed
I was actually spending about what this phone cost every month on shit I just felt like buying for no reason. If I didn't have at least one package in the mailbox and it wasn't Sunday it was an odd day

>$20 food
what

>basically lived off McD's, which I got for free

>450$ for food
eat less biccboi

>basically lived off McD's, which I got for free
Hah, didn't even stop to consider that.

Also doesn't look like you spend much on your car, those suck up money.

Congrats to you user for making it work, it's definitely true that you don't need a $15 minimum wage to live.

>$250
I have a bad tendency of not really planning my meals out well and buying expensive tasty fruits when I get hungry.

My music alone take up 35gb +

The $15 minimum wage thing is bullshit, but it should definitely be higher than $7.25/hr. I think you should start at $8 or so with a month or two probation period then get a mandatory raise to $9 or $10/hr

Pretty much any Chinese phone, they're all the same.

>killer specs
>low price
>no SD slot
>low availability, have to import it from China

Buy from Xiaomi, Oukitel, Oneplus etc. whatever really, it's all the same shit.

Considering the last time the min wage was raised was in 2009, we are due for a bit of an upgrade.

I'm not in the position to say exactly how much, but kids in high school today are making the same 7.25 I was 5 years ago, except it buys them much less now.

>You forgot to mention that the OnePlus 3 has 6 gigs ram vs the Axon 7's 4 gigs ram.
There was supposed to be a 6GB ram version

>le ram meme

Who gives a shit, anything more than 3 gb is overkill anyway. I'm using a 2gb phone and it rarely ever lags on me even when I have a lot of shit open. It's a phone, not a desktop computer.

Like having more is a meme. Protip, you can tweak the system to use more.

I fucking hate that my browser loads every page again if I quickly exit and return to browser. And I'm definitely going to get a device with +4gb ram next.

>apps on SD
Literally who does this and why

Apps take up space. It'd be logical to move apps to the SD or at least move the app data to the SD.

enjoy your terrible battery life and purpleing effect

My phone lasts 3-4 days on a charge and the screen looks great. Enjoy your shit blacks

People have less than $500 in the bank *because* they are spending $700 on new phones every 1-2 years. OPs point that it is *only* $400 actually could help these morons

have the same phone, every once in a while I kinda want more than just average storage to hold movies, more music, or just have a backup storage solution.

This actually supports all the major American carriers, unlike op3

18 here, I always have pretty good money in the bank I never let it sit below 600 and yeah it feels damn well having backup money.
>inb4 I try to be really cheap

nextbit robin

I was thinking about getting the Nexus 5x.
I have a lease on the LG G4 and I'm not allowed to root it. It's also completely bloated with T-mobile battery-draining software.
Will I be missing much in this switch?

>budget smartphones
>$399

Just because the new iphone cost $1000 doesn't make a $400 phone cheap.

Xiaomi will always be the king of cheap.
Less than 200 for a good cpu, SD card slot, good enough screen and amazing SOT.
Literally can't be beaten

But does it have a removable battery?

>removable battery with good life
>SD card slot
>minimum 3gb ram
>1080p screen
>ability to root
>good quality camera (forget the MP thing and just compare to flagships)
>4.7 in screen

Why would anyone want anything more than this and why should it cost more than $200? I don't even know of any phones that fit this description

>paying $400 for a phone

I don't get these people. Do you really need 4GB of RAM to call someone or browse the web?

You need the PRO version because the regular one doesn't support LTE frequencies in europe.

It's a good quality battery that will last a lifetime.

>have good discount contract discount deal for at&t from job
>buy note 4 two years ago, love it until drops and most recent update gimps it
>stuck with a shit phone until late next month when the non exploding note 7s and LG V20s drop
>cant use smaller phones do to giant hands

Only modern phones that have a removable battery is LG so your best bet is the G5

>last a lifetime.
You mean degrade to 40% after a year? No, thankyou.

b8 thicker than oatmeal

bought it and don't have service anywhere. this shit is going back. don't fall for memes

>it doesn't have a 2k screen
>It doesn't have a 20 MP camera (only 13 lol)
>It doesn't have 32-bit/192kHz audio
>It doesn't have Dolby Atmos
Pure placebo, since when is ZTE shilling the Axon here?
