Whats fedora?
You already had linux-image set to remove before running the command
Can happen if you botched a kernel upgrade i suppose / didn't know how to install a specific version and removed all when trying to remove a single older package
tl;dr git gud
A distro with better package manager
Just googled package manager. Is it really that hard to download and install programs on linux that you need a separate program with a limited list of apps to do it for you?
>uses command to purge all autoremovable packages
>wonders why old kernels are part of all
I hope this is bait.
We don't download and install software from shady sites, the software are already in the secure software repository.
Remember when transmission installer got hacked and Linux had no problem?
Sure, broadcom released a new wireless driver, right?
No?
>secure software repository.
>secure
Have fun with your no super cow powers
*tips*
fedora is literally shit
I remember when the Bumblebee dev deleted every person's /usr directory and Windows 7 had no problem.
i7 meme
ssd meme
oled meme

fuck my life
The MacBook Pro with Retina display doesn't have this problem
>not using CentOS
yum is same
Confirming purge without reading what is removed is not something simply switching distros will fix.
it's called autoremove because it detects which packages can be removed. it doesn't take any arguments.
>autoremove is used to remove packages that were automatically installed to satisfy dependencies for other packages and are now no longer needed.
also, removing old kernels/headers is perfectly normal if there aren't any packages that depend on those packages.
you have 4.4.0-38 installed. what do you need -28?
KEK
You don't know what the word 'literally' means.
Because the macbook pro with the retina display doesn't have a real package manager, they have a retarded App Store that can't uninstall packages installed through it and a glorified Ruby script that has about 1/3 of the functionalities of dnf. You still can't add repositories.
I don't have this problem on arch lunix :^)
My MacBook Pro with Retina display doesn't have this problem
Your macbook doesn't have a package manager.
>can't use X
>"oh wow, I don't have X-related problems, awesome"
The Windows 7 with Service Pack 2 doesn't have this problem.
>package managers
>os x doesn't have package management problems
Sure thing kiddo.
Lmao you have 4.4.0-38 installed, so you don't need 4.4.0-28. autoremove detects uneeded packages, and those older kernels and headers aren't needed and aren't being used, they're just taking up space at this point. I know I'm probably falling for the bait, but still, this post is ridiculous.
Most of Cred Forums's Debian criticism stems from a lack of knowledge.
But MacOS is slower than lunix.
most of Cred Forums is just flame and lack of knowledge
is this bait?
you ran autoremove and it uninstalled old kernels
debian is still shit tho
Here's an example of what's happening
This does not happen on the MacBook Pro with Retina display.
kill yourself iToddler
This post isn't about a MacBook Pro with Retina Display
> not using slackware with kde plasma and sbopkg
fucking plebs
That's extremly convenient and secure.
most of the retarded tech support questions i see on Cred Forums are about windows 10. is this one of those delusional jokes like the "ipajeet" thing?
That's exactly what it is though, a joke.
>with a limited list of apps
Actually distros like debian and ubuntu have an insane amount of packages. If you need something they don't have then just compile it from source and put it into /opt for better separation.
usually jokes are funny because there's some truth in the joke. i mean it's cool that you're trying something different, but keep working at it.
>humor is objective
that's a great point that doesn't make you look like a defensive whiny bitch.
this thread gave me cancer

That's not me lmao

here's a tampon bud
And a broadcom driver as well?
Wincuck 7 is no longer supported in future CPUs. BTFO
Some people are not gay and retarded
So you're angry that a joke didn't reach your criteria of what's funny, but I'm the whiny bitch?
> future CPUs
x86 stays the same, retard. It only stops supporting some fancy features that are only useful on laptops.
And I don't give a fuck anyway, because I'm going to stay the Core2Duo botnet-free master race.
>Current decade
>x86
LMAO poorfag
What DE is that?
> implying new Intels won't be x86-based
>too retarded to use search engine
Xfeces, m8
x86 desktop cpus havent been produced in over 10 years.
>posting your ip on the Cred Forums
You fucked up
x86_64 is called like that for a reason, m8.
x86_64 is called like that for a reason.

Fedora is even worse. Install Gentoo.
there's also fink, although i guess that's a bit defunct now, isn't it?
but people like him have just stopped making the "no right click LULZ!" joke so whatever
Sorry, I meant real package managers
No True Scotsman logical fallacy.
Not a fallacy it's not a real package management. No source download, no repository adding. It has SOME package manager features.
>3.5gb card
Top kek
Welcome to the club. Made the switch from Arch last week.
Im happy but miss the AUR.
Fancy features like a decent amount of RAM?
Fedora's great, but why did you leave Arch?
>qstalledtorrent
kys
Wanted to familiarize myself with redhat ecosystem.
I have no complaints about arch. It was great.
>2016
>using yum
>not dnf
Get with the times, Grandpa
slpm is decent desu.
>using Ar "no X" ch unironically
So if I understand correctly, you're upset that it automatically removed an old kernel?
What did he mean by this
>muh apt is a shit
>install fedora
Enjoy your shit DNF and YUM, fucking retard!
MY GOD, freetards are fucking retards!
And vboxdrv and the bcmwl
I think this neckbeard autist trying to communicate. lol
>git gud
emerge better
>Apt will remove your entire fucking system
>DNF is slow as molasses (not a bad thing in enterprise, sucks for the average autist)
>Portage is excellent, but 2hard4u
>Pacman is easy to use, fast, and is intelligent.
I think the 2 distro choices are obvious.
I will say that apt is just fine for a server OS like debian
